Actually, i did the opposite. I changed my class to Ele because the forum’s are full of people who say ele is the god tier class. Now that i have played a several games with it i have to say that it is not as OP as everybody is saying, or is this a l2p issue for me? xD

If you are looking for burst you need to pick up at least one dps arcane utility, two if you want to really do damage. This means of course you can’t be running triple cantrip. The standard build for spvp is 0/10/0/30/30 aura share D/D. Everyone has there own variations but they all have elemental attunement,evasive arcana, cleansing wave, powerful aura’s and zephyr’s boon. The other two are what ever you like. You can also swap cleansing water in for powerful aura is you are facing lots of condi. If you want more damage pick up vital striking in water. Ele’s don’t have that quick burst like a thief, mesmer or engi but can still up out a lot of damage within a 3-4 second window. Thief, create 2 more thiefs with elite. Backstab some stuff. If almost dead, pop 1 of the many panic buttons u have. Easy to do well.
Not saying that the thief is a faceroll class or anything, but i think it does well even if not even trying.

Seriously? This is the best patch engi’s have seen. The KR nerf really isn’t that big of a deal. The only build really effected is the gimmicky “100 nades” (not even really less viable, just requires a change a technique and more awareness, more brain power now required).
These changes really shouldn’t effect high level engi viability. It does make one gimmicky build more challenging and force some extra timing awareness on others.
It also removes reliable condition removal :o

Man, I see – you will arguing like hell now.
Just two upper points:
1. Fear is condition. Condition without a lot stacks or huge long – nothing. You must know that. But, sure, this can not be spoken in the forum-fight, lol
2. So, rifle#4 – “a lot” ? Another utility skills using very rarely and, sure, not in the our two-left-cool-builds. And, sure, you can’t have it all at the same time or change in battle etc.So, since your 1st points beaten, I didn’t even want to read another. GLHF.

If honestly, I really didn’t care about words of some noname. No offense man, just a fact.Is that how you defend your points? By saying thing without backing your facts?
You can stack an average amount of bleed, near perma poison, near perma burning, some good chilling, better then average confusion, perma weakness with EG, perma vuln with grenade, lot of immobilize, cripple and blind.
Sure it’s hard to keep all this up, but good rotation can pull it off. If you think it’s not enought, I don’t know what to say.

We have #4 rifle, big ol bomb, tumper turret, every turret if traited, shield 4, personal battering ram, slick shoe, throw mine.
I think that’s pretty much the higest amount of CC option a class can have in this game.
And did you say you never use rifle #4? That’s prolly the best attack on the rifle. And 100nade is still viable, and static discharge isn’t that bad ether and use it.

I still win a lot with my engineer. Not to mention u can still 100nade by using rifle#2 isntead of magnet, or remaining in toolkit for the 10sec cd, and then magnet.

For power grenades or any kit-focused build it’s not really a bad idea to roll P/P or P/S anyway, as you get the benefit of two sigils that way. Grenades in general aren’t the best though until you get to 60, when you get the grenadier grandmaster trait.
I would recommend bombs, and traits down that power line that increase bomb aoe and decrease cooldown. Bombs are simply the best damage at the moment, and the aoe is really good for killing groups. Learn to love fire bomb in particular; lay one down immediately and it adds a lot of damage over time as you autoattack bomb spam.

I think if u solo both power/condition grenade builds are good. In teams i think its better to roll power grenade build as the other condition classes will lower your damage. For power grenade builds u can use rifle and condition grenade builds u can use P/P or P/S.
TL;DR, nades are the way to go. From what ive heard.

Like I said, it already exists. You can Q with 4 people and get 1 as a pug, this has always existed in free tournaments, and now all tournaments are free, therefore it exists in all tournaments.
The " new " MMR system adjusts for it as well, but the reason people are crying and saying they’re playing premades is becuase the MMR is brand new and fresh, the system hasn’t adjusted to your skill level yet, so obviously you’re going to play people with skewed results.

I have said it before and got flamed a lot. 5 high MMR solo queurs VS 5 high MMR pre-mades does not mean instant lose. Yes, premades will use TS/skype and can choose the 5 classes to play with. But in this meta the change that u get a solid team (talking about classes (not 5 bunker) is like 100%. Splitting it could be a little bit better, but its nothing game breaking.

I just had a great Idea about another Secondary Objective (or maybe this Term wouldn’t be appropriate anymore with both Objectives being weighed equally):
Jungle: Kinda like in all the MOBA-Games, a Map could have one or two “Jungles”, with easy, medium and hard to kill creep-camps that would respawn every 2 Minutes and if killed, would get you a certain Amount of Points. It could be pretty interesting to see what kind of “Jungler-Builds” would be created, how many ppl you would send to gank the Jungler of the opposing Team etc.

Been playing DotA for more than 7 years and I’ve never heard something like that. Most of the blame is laid on bad solo mids, intentional feeders and Russians (:D). Even if there would be flaming, you can’t just ignore a good idea because the concept would cause flaming.

I do agree with you a little, flaming is not a reason to ignore a bad idea. And lets face it, jungle does sound a look idea in the first place. But this game is focussing on tanks/DPS/very rarely a support. Forcing 1 of the 5 to split on his own into a jungle to score points doesn’t fit in guild wars imo. What i want to see is builds that not only focus on shredding ur opponents as fast as possible and build that can’t kill but just to survive longer to deny capping, but builds that focus on the other team mates as well. Like GvG, where u had a flagger to support the team, Heal+Prot monks to support. Pressure roles like ranger,necro,mesmer and frontliners. Everybody was basicly using the same set-up but with different frontliners or pressure roles. Like this it doesn’t matter that a class is considered OP or UP, or at least a lot less. Here everybody focuses on a different role and can’t be compared to each other. This is what i call balance. This is what made GW1 shine. This is exactly what most of the players are thinking about when we are talking about GW pvp.

People who don’t like the engineer as a class wouldn’t bother posting here. The fact that they are posting about it proves that they like the class and wish it was improved in some way. People who are passionate about something show it in different ways.

I have played GW2 for 1501 hours so far, 644 on my engie. I have one of every profession at level 80, and I have played around with a lot of different builds on all of them. I’m certain there are others who have put in a lot more time and effort than me, but I feel I am fairly unbiased when it comes to class comparisons.
While each class is unique and has it’s own positives and negatives, there are some classes which fit much better in certain niche roles in different parts of the game than others. This is unavoidable to a certain extent I suppose.
Still it’s nice to voice suggestions that I feel would prove beneficial to the engineer class in the long term.
My suggestions will never be implemented – ArenaNet has their own vision, their own roadmap and deployment plan and their own mental picture of what they want the engineer to be, and they don’t have time to read through most of the garbage posted in forums on the internet.
But it’s nice to talk about it, yes? And that’s what forums are for.

By vulnerable, he means the use of a cooldown. An Ele no longer has Mist Form because he used it offensively.
Don’t they say the best defense is offense? Using offensively Mist Form to remove one player from the game gives plenty of benefits, like the fact that player won’t be here anymore for a time to pester you and damage you and CC you. It’s a very defensive result in fact.
Using it to stomp a “already dead player” is not allways the best choise. If your team can land some AoE around the downed player this will slow down the reviving as well as damaging the reviver, eventually killing both. Note that if somebody revives a player he can’t deal damage, and the downed played does lower damage as well, that means u make more then 1 person “useless”.
Then there are insta-resses like engi and necro but these can also happen when u mist formed.

The Dark Moon Shield, Gargoyle Scythe, the Spears and so on drop from the 1-round-tourney-chests. I have gotten them all except the Scythe.
Edit: Maybe they drop from the 3-round-tourney-chests too, but I know nothing about that.

How do they have no escapes? Both of these classes are usually bunkers, but anyway this isn’t the point of my topic. Please read what I have written below.
Plenty of classes use quickness, stealth, stability etc. to stomp but those abilities can still be countered. (or the player killed)
The point is two abilities are completely immune to any sort of interruption/damage. It doesn’t make sense, it isn’t fun and it makes for extremely poor interaction/counter-plays. A player should not be allowed to stomp with one of these abilities active.
Well, yea i do agree with you. Getting stomped by players who are invulnerable can be annoying. However i don’t think this is unbalanced at all. They are all important cooldowns you use to stomp. Imho when u are downed you should be lucky your enemies put those skills on cd. You kittenaged for so much that u lost all your health, u can’t expect to still be dangerous every single time (50% of the times u will be).

The rewards in PvP are lacking. I’m currently rank 33 and at this point those treasure chests I get from winning tournaments mean nothing to me. I have about 50k glory saved up because there is nothing to use it on. Collecting new and cool looking tiers of gear is fine and good, but it’s just not enough. I’m currently playing the game because I enjoy TPvP and because the new map is very fun; the current rewards do not play a part in my motivation to continue PvPing.
Please add something else to give PvP and honor some kind of relevance. I’d even trade in my glory to help my server in WvW or guild in PvE or something like that. Just please, give us something else to use glory on.
I don’t really have anything to add. I just wanted to say that it is good to see that somebody else enjoy’s spirit watch just like ( are we the only? xD ). I spend my glory on converters and collect as many slivers as i can, but i dont know why. It is just so i have a way to spend my glory, but i dont even need slivers xD. I agree with you on the fact that we need more things to spend our glory on. I would like to see a new tier of weapons/armor that need a tier 4 material (converted from 25 slivers or even 100 slivers). This way u actually need a lot of glory to make it, and not everybody will have it (everybody has orrian). The feeling that u are collecting glory so that u can buy something big in the end will satisfy most players.

I think the problem starts when u change your party. Yesterday is was in a party with somebody and joined queu. Then i noticed somebody was looking for a party in chat so i invited him. As soon as he joined our party, we automaticly “leave” queu. So i join queu again. A few seconds later i got a whisper from somebody who said i was in their team but didnt connect and that they were 3v5 (The other one who was in my team didn’t join either)

I am running something like this but a bit different. i run 0-30-0-30-10 and replaced grenade with toolkit. I really dont want to get rid of speedy kits. I guess my build is better to burst down a single target fast and then move to kill the crowd with piercing bullets. The grenade build seems to do better for AoE (obviously xD). The condition damage from Firearms tree makes me kill single targets faster ( i think the bonus damage from this is more then the bonus damage i would get from power )

Sigil on weapon gives you might every time you switch weaponkit and back to pistol but iirc it shares the same cd with the sigil on other pistol

Yes, and free tournament tokens from the 3 round tourneys, probably so that we can still create the existing armor. There is no replacement for them now. Maybe it will stay this way, just a change of the name in the future as it is no longer “paid”.

I do agree some classes are better at running the orb, and the ele will absolute dominate the first 30 sec/1 min because he can RTL to the orb. But the fact that the orb neutralizes points and gives bonus points is in my opinion a good addition to PvP as it seems like PvP is not focused on killed atm. ( i would like to see GvG like GW1 tho, where you allways go 5v5 with balanced teams (yes 8v8 in gw1) and if u can wipe the enemy team u can attack a Guild Lord, or with splits. Maybe add the flag in the game.)

Just two upper points:
1. Fear is condition. Condition without a lot stacks or huge long – nothing. You must know that. But, sure, this can not be spoken in the forum-fight, lol
2. So, rifle#4 – “a lot” ? Another utility skills using very rarely and, sure, not in the our two-left-cool-builds. And, sure, you can’t have it all at the same time or change in battle etc.So, since your 1st points beaten, I didn’t even want to read another. GLHF.

I disagree about the fact that conditions are only good in a large stack or long duration. If i can apply 4+ different condition with a little downtime before i can use them again will also do a lot of damage and is harder to get rid of by the enemies.

FT’s a better power kit now, with the changes to napalm. I respecced the other day to see if FT/EG is usable after the Kit refinement nerfs, and… if you connect with both parts, you deal a respectably high amount of burst damage. I’ve been getting about 4k crits, which occur nearly every 4 seconds, and I’m not even a rampager or berserker. I’m in mostly carrion gear with divinity accessories. 3 is nice to prevent channeling, but I’ve never been able to Airblast projectiles.I like 4 for its long-duration Fire field. Even better when you’ve got an immobilize or disable. The damage isn’t anything to write home about, I’m afraid.
5 is a great pseudo-stunbreaker, and damage mitigation tool.

GW2 is nothing like that. And i hope, deep inside, that it will never get close to 1 of those games. I have never seen such Toxic community’s as HoN and LoL.

Time to roll a different class?Sure I’m negative. They are nerfed us as hell, but there is a lot of PVEers and sPVPers (who using 1-2 same builds) who talking “hey, all is OK!”

I do well in tPvP with P/P condi, P/S condi, rifle condi, nade and power builds.
Got a little bit less condi removal in EG/FT builds, and yes that is bad. I did rage too, but only for a few minutes. I started playing different, and that worked out really well for me.

I have been playing a lot of engineer the last couple of weeks. This was the last class i tried because everybody said it was the weakest. They were so wrong. Engineer has one of the better elite skills and can use kits, which replace your first 5 skills with different skills. In most builds you will run with a lot of different skills so pulling off a combo can be hard.We have good elites? Where? Did I missed something?
Supply crate is good, yes. But mortar SUCKS, it’s highly situationel, you might use it 1 time in WvW standing on a wall, but even a striketeam will smash it to the ground in 10 seconds.
Elixir X is just bad. We have to rely on the RNG (but hey ’it’s fun’ right?).

+ Versatile
+ Very good damage, both condition and power builds.
+ Most fun to play
+ Most rewarding if mastered
+ CC gods
Cons
- Small mistakes ruin u more then any other class.
- Hard to master (could be a pro)
- Turrets make the engineer a, well, a engineer. however turrets are weak.
I haven’t played the ranger a lot but im gonna try.
Pro’s
+ High damage (also because of pet)
+ Fast, lots of evades
+ God tier elite skills (entangle)
Con’s
- Low damage in melee ( looks like this is my opinion, dont flame plz :p)
- Not versatile

guardians tank damage, eles kite you around the point until all their cooldowns are up then run away, and you can’t punish them for pressuring your node.
YOU CANT keep nerfing when there are so crap stuff that you could buff while also creating more viable builds..if anet had some balls

Since everywhere a tons of AOE or you will continue attacking enemy in the Stealth even without targeting him – what point in the Stealth then??

Name one MMO that doesn’t have aoe everywhere, and where the aoe doesn’t break stealth. The point of stealth is to roam the map and give u a massive advantage in 1v1 encounters. Assassins/Thiefs are known to be squishy and they dont belong in massive teamfights in any MMO.

Ive played many mmos over the years and this is the only one that didn’t give every class at least one way to combat stealth.
It is indeed weird that AoE dmg or any randomly aimed ability that hits will not unstealth the target. Another thing that is weird is that if your enemy goes stealth and u try to use ability in the hope u will hit him, you will shoot some ability straight into the ground.

From the alchemy tree alone i have around 22,7k health.
I may be missing something, but how do you get 22.7k health from the Alchemy tree when it only gives you +300 vitality? That results in 1216 vitality, which translates to 18082 hp.
Yes, maybe i didnt give enough information, my bad.
I am using the carrion necklace, but no vitality runes.
