Why are you letting unauthorized IP'S log in?

Just don’t let it Authorize (don’t hit Authorize button), that’s the security.
Or are you asking why we use Authorize IP security?
Can you write up your rig? I have no idea what rig spec you have.
x124 is CPU issues, check your PSU power supplies if you are running at stock clocks. Do Clear BIOS and test it again.
I have major issue when I want to look up to see something, puzzle, enemies above and etc. End up in the butt of my Asura.
The very first part of the story between them is like Apple and Samsung patent trolls.
Additional shot: If you guys haven’t notice if you un-stow your staff or any weapons. It grows bigger to the correct ratio.
When you stow your weapon, it looks odd because it shrink for no reason. There is enough room for the weapons behind the back. I’m not sure what is the issue with the gear designer at Anet…
Fantastic review and analysis.
Hey guys,
I bought a new computer today, still I want to upgrade my old computer. Would be a waste to throww it away. Could you tell me what choice would be the best for me? I was thinking either of the following two:
Option 1
AMD FX-8150 (Zambezi)
4x 2048 KB Level 2
8192 KB Level 3
3600 MHz
HyperTransport bus 5200 MT/sAsus M5A97 EVO R2.0
Max 32 GB RAM
PCIe x2 (Crossfire supported)
AMD 970 chipsetCorsair 16 GB DDR3-1600 Quad-Kit
16384 MB
CAS-latentie: 7Option 2
Asus GTX680-DC2O-2GD5
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 Chip
2048 MB GDDR5
Clock 1019 MHz
Memory 6008 MHzMy current system:
Windows 7 Professional
AMD Phenom II X4 945, 2935 MHz, 6MB Cache
ATI Radeon HD 6870 Videocard
8GB GeIL DDR2-800
Gigabyte MA74GM Series mainboard
2x 1TB WD S-ATA 2 HDDso… what would you guys suggest to do? I want to have more FPS in GW2 (and other games of course) but most important NO lag in WvW in GW2 lol. I also use development applications (multiple at the same time) for writing software and websites (Microsoft Visual studio 2010, Qt, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator et cetera).
So hopefully some of you can tell me which of the two options you would go for, and how much better everything would run with the new option
Best regards
I still have FPS issues in WvW but not in other worlds. Just so you know. You cannot expect to stay 60FPS+ in WvW even with my system can blows out every other games in the world.

No is not, would be if he play in “High”, but in low he should have more perfomance, the issue right now that it doesnt matter if you put the game in low or high, the fps only change 3-4 fps.
People should learn that Minium Requeriments mean play at game in “low” with a good perfomance at least (40-60 fps ), the issue is that or the game is poor optimiced ( yes ) or thar arena.net lie with Minium Requeriments ( im starting think that yes too ).
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo 2.0 GHz, Core i3, AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 or better
Thats the CPU that GW2 need, and with this in low it should work at stable perfomance but low, that how minimum requeriments normally works in all games, people should learn that you dont have to have a i5-i7 to play a game with a 7 years old engine improved with good framerate.
If the game run bad is for the poor perfomance or that simple arena.net lies, choose either one, and if the game run like should run, arena.net need to change the " Minimum requeriments" because many people that dont follow the forums will bought the game thinking that they suprass the requeriments and they will found a unplayable game at “low settings”, and you will have angry costumer with high possibilities that they wont buy another GW game again, and to Arena.net is scamming the players.
Anet doesn’t lie about system spec. Game were tested by millions of users across the world with millions of system. Only 0.05% of the user out of 2millions will have FPS issues.
OP: the CPU is very old. 2 cores… 2008 Pentium.
He should be able to run everything on Mid except the Shadows and Sampling to Low or Native. Most of the settings are CPU bound. The higher you over clock the CPU, the better FPS you get.

Number 1, because the bugs on Elementalist is somewhat game breaking in competitive gameplay and fights (PVP/PVE dungeons-boss). A lot of skills aren’t working, broken trait and etc. So it became useless and we are stuck what we have functional.
Here how it should be:
Here is the demo.
Any weapons you stow on Asura char is mostly super tiny and clip into gears.
For example the staff shrinks if you stow it and grow if you take it out (combat pose).
The staff should remain the same size even stow.
Other races doesn’t have this issues, the staff remain the same length and goes over the head. ie. Human stow with a staff, is higher than his or her head on the back.
Asura is clip into the head and below the head level big time.
I do notice Asura races gears portion size is all wrong to me. It needs adjustment.
Most of the time I cannot spot my weapons. Especially if you have daggers and offhand. those things cannot be seen at all if you are wearing robes.
Some what disappointed.

Also, the reason you would get less fps in windowed mode wouldnt just be because of shadows but sli/crossfire does not work in windowed mode.
Yes about the Windowed mode but no about the Full screen mode. In full screen mode cards is still hovering about 60% usage. So it doesn’t really make that much different for the moment.
Maybe I’ll clean install my driver again. I’ve been switching drivers for sometime and it may be a mess at the moment.
I’m also using some Multimonitor software aka DisplayFusion Beta version could be affecting some of the performance if other software also utilize the GPU struggling to run both at the same time.

Those of you mentioned above, performance FPS will drop down to 70-80 without Vsync but the problem is that what I was trying to state is the GPU effectiveness.
Most of the time my GPUs load run 60-70% usage and still outputting mass amount of heat. 60-70% usage is clock at 600-750 Mhz instead of 1.1Ghz above. At 800-900Mhz clock the cards still output about 70-81’C…
vs other games which is fully utilize 99% usage at 1.1Ghz + is outputting ~75’C

CPU is also at a screaming 4.8 though too. Underclock that to 3.5 or 4.0 and report back?
Why would I underclock it? I have no issues with CPU temp at 4.8Ghz ~50-60’C during games. Yes, I will lose FPS by a chunk if I do.
Overclock does affect GW2 performance but again, none of us or Anet will take any responsibility of any damages.

Just a small feedback to iron out some of the settings. What I figured is the Shadows setting that kill the most performances in Windowed Mode, Supersampling isn’t the one that kills as far as I tested and I know it’s depends on the system spec.
By running the game at Full Screen is perfect butter smooth.
What Nvidia stated about GW2 is true about being a CPU bound game rather than GPU. Most of the time I monitored both of my GPUs runs at 55-60% and doesn’t run at full clock at all. Still heats up as like it was running full clock speed. So I take a guess, the new driver is still not optimized. It is not running effectively as I see, running half of the GPUs load and still hit up to 71-80’C just like it was running on full load.
Performance is great in game (check attachments) but just the GPUs aren’t running effective. Outputting a lot of heats at half loads.
Notes, when I said GPU is outputting a lot of heat, I have VSync on cap at 60FPS. Below screenshots are to show the max performance only. I would hate to run games without VSync – Screen tearing.
Oh yes, by the way. I recommended the new driver 306.23 WHQL for Nvidia users, you find it at http://www.geforce.com on the very top left corner of the page to download.

Is it possible to bring back some high resolution screenshot and auto-hide UI on screenshot we had in BWE#1?
I really miss them.
I’m a Dance build. Mix bag support and combos build.
Air 20
Earth 20
Arcane 30- Mass infinite buffs and combos burst damages on AoE. Switch dance on every fight and speedy + dodges.
Sounds good can you provide a link to your build on 1 of the build websites? Or more specifically what are your air and earth traits? The combo builds I’ve seen spec 20 or 30 into water.
Here you go here (long link) I’m not sure if it will load properly. The site is buggy sometime.
Alternative link: http://goo.gl/MKzty
As the post above me said Glyph is very powerful. The build I just linked is basically tuned for Glyphs purposes. I use short cooldown Glyphs and constant heal myself overtime and keep Boons up.
Yes and No, trait build you can add is to gain boons upon switching attunements. And those boons can be stack on other proc boons and Combo Finisher.
Ele is some what a micro-management class.
Sounds like too many people not knowing how to master the class. So they are doing it wrong and causes the whole group to fail.
Arcane trait in 30 points if very very powerful if you know how to time and master it. You really need to be on your toe and think fast.
I’m a lvl 50 Elementalist and specify in the Water element. Most of my perks are +Healing and things that will benefit my allies.
Since there is a longish cooldown on most of my skills, I tend to switch between all the elements, depending on situation. I give continuous buffs to my allies and I CC, heal and do damage all at the same time without losing out on anything.
I made this comment to a lvl 74 Fire Elementalist I was doing a dungeon with, because she never switched, especially to Earth in order to save herself from unnecessary damage.
Her reply?
-“lol i’m being taught how to play by a lvl 50 nublet.” Well yes, you are. Because you need to be taught, you nublet. Why is it that so many, almost all in fact, Elementalists refuse to use any other element but their primary? I find it extremely idiotic and plain dumb, to be fair.
Hold on tight, let them be a noob.
I was stuck on Fire Attunement for a long time and I had 30 points in Fire Magic. One day I decided to switch because I believe there is more and should be better than staying in one attunement the whole time.
I got bored, so I completely revamped my traits and stats gears.
I’m not a Crit build anymore, not a condition built, not a tank build, not a healer build and what is it then?
I’m a Dance build. Mix bag support and combos build.
Air 20
Earth 20
Arcane 30
- Mass infinite buffs and combos burst damages on AoE. Switch dance on every fight and speedy + dodges.
I had issue before for staying in Fire burst build. I cannot take on Champion and more than 2-3 mobs at a time. Very squishy.
Now, 5-6 mobs + Champion. Come at me Bros! So powerful! 3-4 mobs just dies at my feet at the same time because of my constant burst of combo finisher damage and debuff damages. Mass buff during the fight + distributing Boons to everyone around me.
Also forever 33% speed all time and anytime and anywhere except you get into combat.
(edited by DJRiful.3749)
Yep, I thought it was only me, apparently everyone is having the similar effect.
Nice shortcut…
/bump, this need to be looked into it.
It is possible to change my character name? Someone got a hold of my char name and kept on sending mail spam to me. I’ve report everyone of them and it is getting ANNOYING!
I am confused the fact we either use character name to add contact or the ID account?
Sometime I see the ID.xxxx and sometime I see the char name. What is the point of having an ID beside the char if we cannot find the person by the ID name?
I believe the ingame should be your character name not your account ID. It didn’t work for me.
They don’t sync with real world time. Unlike WoW.
This Skill Challenge has been bugged for more than 8 hours now. I wonder are there any dev ingame can reset this NPC?
I’m on Dragonbrand server.
Thank you!
Here are mine. My gears are sort of glitched and I am still waiting for a fix.
Elementalist is a strong class if you can master the art of dodge, timing and attunement dancing. You really to be on your toe if you play this profession and you will have to do anything possible to avoid and reflect damage. You have to be really fast at triggering spells without looking at your bar.
I dance my attunements on every fight. Switching back and fore between spells and do combos.
I can take on 3-4 mobs and mini-boss or champion on solo with my staff.
Myself and my buddy are both looking for a mature guild on Dragonbrand server. We are adults and MMO/raid veterans.
We are mainly seeking for NA guilds either PST, CST or EST time. Focus on PVE/PVP/WvW and active ongoing guild.
Thank you!
Many of you are spec into Air Magic pass 15 points. When we switch the attunement to the air, it will auto target and attack.
[Electric Discharge]
Strike your target with a bolt of lightning when attuning to air.
Can we not have the auto target?!? Seriously!
I know we have the option to turn off Auto Target but that’s not what I wanted. I do not want Switching (stance) attunement will engage myself in combat for no freaking reason! Most of the time I switch because I need to speed up my running not attacking.
I needed auto target on other skill but not on switching attunement just to be clear. The behavior of that need to be fixed!
1. Switch Attunement to Air.
2. Player has target? Yes, go to 3. If No, go to 5.
3. Player target attackable? If yes go to 4. If not go to 5.
4. Lightning Strike the target.
5. Do nothing.
Please not only to Air Attunement for other as well. This is getting annoying on unwanted attacks. What if we accidently pull boss fight in dungeons, just because I wanted to switch attunement to check something… or to use speed at start.
A lot of people are telling me that the crit is hidden on your weapon skills.
Here is mine,
(edited by DJRiful.3749)
More updates, more tests.
The elite skills is merely being affected by the Trait points. Even the Inscription to grant Boon under Air Magic is broken!
Might as well share this video, it maybe boring but it was interesting to me.
“Recorded at 120 (fps) high framerates over the character animations unlike other video you have seen which is all shuttering FPS. Guild Wars 2 is a beautiful MMO, fantastic music, scenery, artworks and themes. This video shows the animations and sound effects are beautiful as well.”

It sounds like your account has been compromised. Maybe contact Anet directly to have them check the logs?
Yeah I ran into some areas that does this as well, but sorry I cannot recall where it was from.
When I summon the Fire Elemental with 20% reduction on cooldown from Trait (Quick Glyphs) (96 seconds instead of 120 seconds). The timer start perfectly fine.
As soon my elemental dies, the timer reset back to 120 seconds!!! This is a total of 96 – 60 = 36 + 120 = 156 seconds cooldown until next use!
60 seconds is the live time of my pet.
I’ve been doing this for some times.
8/16 Cores CPU Stock vs Overclocked Performance Lost...

I can overclock my 3930k to 5GHz and my 680 Classfied to 1350Mhz and still cant pull 55 fps.
Yeah, I’m still waiting for Nvidia driver to optimize for GW2. But right now, it’s odd how the CPU affects so much of the FPS. Changing to Low setting, my game still run 30-45FPS.
It just doesn’t make any senses, stock setting of my rig is still 2x more powerful than laptop or other retail computer that is able to run the game ~45-55FPS on low.
Something is glitching, I’m not sure.
8/16 Cores CPU Stock vs Overclocked Performance Lost...
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: DJRiful.3749
I didn’t know GW2 is extremely CPU intensive.
I’ve reset my CPU back to stock and I lose a lot of FPS with it. It’s an Intel 3930K Sandy Bridge-E 8 cores 16 HT.
Stock CPU:
3.8Ghz ~33-45FPS…
Overclocked CPU:
4.6Ghz ~55-160FPS…
I’m on GTX680 SLI + 306.02 Beta driver.
So by changing the CPU frequency does greatly affect the performance. Even changing the graphic setting from Ultra to Low on Stock CPU. It does not affect the FPS at all more like no effects.
Is there something I am missing?
Looks like I’m going to be sticking to high overclocking in order for me to run the game 60FPS+. Really weird, other games including Crysis 2, Metro 2033 and etc. don’t have this issues with CPU clock speed.
Speaking of bottleneck, no there is none on other games really. Also not many games utilize more than 3-4 cores. Also I know the nvidia driver still have no support for SLI. I ran without SLI mode still give the same performances.
Game resolution: 2560 × 1440.
(edited by DJRiful.3749)
The lag I’ve traced is always at the NCsoft servers(140-300ms). Anything before is 14-50ms.
