So i decided to run the 64bit thinking it would give me a greater performance boost. Everything started off great in fact in SPVP I felt like i had a huge boost in reaction ( seeing how i didn’t have any troubles before) but then I started to lag… And lag hard. I asked chat and the matches players if they were experiencing it too but of course with my luck they were not….

I also started seeing issue with Chrome with lead me to think it was a memory leak issue. Luckily I had a backup of the game already and just over wrote the files ( the dat file that is). Really hope these minor issues get resolved soon so I can feel comfortable about playing on this client again.

You don’t need to overwrite anything, both 32bit and 64bit uses the same asset game files. Just the client launcher is different.

What 3 physical cores on i7 6 core; are you speaking off?

Unlike FFXIV Relic quest line, I was able to complete them daily because the even interval is 20-30min.

Here in GW2 HoT… the map even is 1-2hrs. Sorry, I must say this sucks.

Morning, before work; I get on to check on the map timer and hit up for the event. Barely people on to complete it and failed to kill Vinetooth Prime. Okay fine, left for work 8 hours and 1hr commute. Come back home I only have little time before sleep. Map will reset in 1.5hrs. Missed it again.

Protector of the Exalted and Protector of Verdance been stuck for 2 weeks. I can’t complete.

A lot of 38+ LFG for fractal end up showing difficulty scale at 10-19.

Why and what is going on?

Sorry I just got back into this game after 1.5yrs away. My experience of seeing this is terrible if people are faking their fractal lvl just to get people to run them.

Or it is LFG bug?

What happen if you consume a recipe for example; Chef recipe on a character which you don’t have Chef crafting.

Would it stays in your bag or just end up consume and be available when you decide to start Chef on that character?

Sadly, the waypoint end up reset my story progress. Start over again and about 60%, I lost connection… now starting over again!

I just came back after 1.5 year break from GW2. Is it me that the elementalist animations are way too fast? Like 0.3 seconds animations of Water Splash. really? I hardly be able to see what I just casted.

I find that GW2 is a much more expensive game than a sub base game. That money can get you 2 months sub and game items are not limited to real life money even if it is not pay 2 win items.

I prefer sub base game because I can get all the items I wanted without paying $20 for one piece and $20 for another piece. That is equivalent to 4 mths of sub.

I do like this game but I stopped playing due it lacks of contents. I done pretty much everything Fractal + few legendary.

I got bored, there is nothing more to say. :/

Charging laptop should be able to charge up even running at full load. So the AC is not good in this case.

If you have the money, put them underwater. Mine idle CPU 25’c and GPU 24’c. Stress CPU 50’c max and GPU 40’c max.

You have to log onto each characters and please go to Mist each first time log into your character to acquire the skins.

All statistics online social media website are all over the places. The only reliable source if you ask Anet and each game studios about the population active players. That’s the proper way to measure it.

Not 3rd party software, not even Steam that has 30million+ accounts with 6-7mil active peak time.

Why?

1. Not everyone use Steam to launch GW2.
2. Not everyone use Raptr with GW2.
3. Not everyone use Overwolf with GW2.
4. Not everyone use GW2.exe launcher to start the game.
5. There are at least freaking 4 examples way to launch GW2.

Overwolf’s user base is listed at 8 million and their metrics are based on active application sessions (ie: the EXE is loaded into memory).

8 million as much near as Steam active 7.5 million (6mil average peak time)… I find that hard to believe.

As the title said, exactly at 2:00 AM mark. GW2 drops connection.

lol, laptop screen resolutions impact the most, OP is probably running sub 1080p which is why he can hit those FPS.

I can hit over 120FPS on my rig and apparently it will hit the FPS ceiling at sub 1080p but my screen is 2k (2560×1440) can barely keep up at 60fps at Ultra settings. Make senses.

Been lagging since 4 weeks now … or rather, since S2 started, but at first it was only on Dry top map, then it spread pretty much everywhere. Getting an average of 1s+ of latency :/
Tracert shows no problems, getting a stable, under 50ms ping to servers; speedtest also shows full capacity … i seriously doubt it’s my ISP problem here …

You don’t need to pay, just use it for 1 hour session trial, it will d/c you then just hit the “ON” button again to continue your session for another hour. You can repeat this many time you can.

I know the d/c may be annoying but least you don’t have 200-300ms lags.

The route (aka highway of internet) traffic jam at the Anet server location (Level3 Datacenter).

Other games have no issue because they are on different geographical location.

Issue has been all over the forums, and it has been proved by tracerouting the server connection.

Need to clean your computer / laptop just like cleaning your house AC / heater filters.

DX11 improves the overhead & latency over DX9. DX12 will even improve more and I wish Anet can do something about it. DX12 will affect the CPU bound games effectively not DX11.

For DX12, you don’t really need to wait for DX12 hardwares. Just get HD7000+ and GTX400+ series up, you will be supported. It will be just D3D DX API software updates.

Be happy what you have, I used to have a Dell Inspiron 9300. It runs WoW 10-20fps… back 10 years ago… (can’t believe is already been 10 yrs…)

Doesn’t matter how many cores you have, game is single core. Ghz is an indication where you are running at and if you overclock it, it shows a level where you pushed it at.

What you have to look is this:

Well, to make it easier. What is the brand and model name / numbers of your laptop. We can dig that out rather than have you go into some dxdiag, inspector tools troubles.

Natively support 4k as the game 3D object polygons can render out from your GPU but the UI interface initially designed for 1080p uses and it can scale up to for 2k monitors like 2560×1440 which what I have.

If they want to enable (X-Large) mode, they can but the GUI textures will be blurry. They have to re-render the GUI-graphic at a higher resolution.

This is the same issue when hi-DPI iPhone releases with 200-300 DPI screen. Apple had to design 2 set of icons one for normal DPI and one for hiDPI.

mhm… my rig barely get more than 45-50fps in crowded cities. 12-13FPS in zergfest. Yet I am running 3930k 6 cores overclocked 4.6Ghz + titan underwater everything. Outside map, 60+fps when there aren’t many players around.

That’s is pretty normal for a laptop average FPS.

p.s. Don’t ask why I have a titan, i am day one owner and gw2 is not my only games.

Open your Catalyst Control Center, should be there to set it to AMD not Intel one.

Actually, it goes even further than that. You’re not supposed to even let anyone under the age of 13 watch Guild Wars 2, even with express parental permission and supervision… not that anyone read through the ToS/EULA… clearly not me…

Decent ones are ~$1800+ USD. Otherwise most will run 30-40 FPS in cities. WvW will drop low 17-20s unless you lower your resolution by half.

So a drop of $1000-1500, don’t except a huge differences.

My case I only play games at home, I have MacBook Pro’10 and Surface Pro 2 for travel.

Make sure you set this up… who knows what is going to happen every late night in Guild Wars 2 world.
