A desktop.
Link in my spec sometime drops FPS down low 30fps with 50 players on my screens. All laptop will get hot no matter. Don’t play on your lap.
Get a laptop cooler underneath it.
I don’t think any laptop will keep 30FPS in large wvw. Most importantly choose the best CPU first available. Preferably Core i7 since laptop CPU are 20-40% slower than Core i7 desktop.

Gold sellers use hacked accounts. Anet bans one, gold sellers steal another. So it goes. I had my guild wars 1 account hacked by gold sellers.
Not much anyone can do about them, but block, and report.
I don’t think it is hacked.
Each account are listed:
gsdg.xxxx
gegs.xxxx
qqgf.xxxx
qgiq.xxxx
Those are not actual player accounts.
Asus and Lenovo both are very good in notebooks. MSI is new only for a few years since 2004.
Don’t buy Alienware… overpriced.
When it comes to big upgrades, CPU and Board is always first. CPU is the heart while the board is the body. GPU is your leg. Your leg is still strong but your heart can’t keep up the pace with all the blood pressure. So you will be handicapped by your heart (bottleneck).
Um, that analogy doesnt really work in the Computer world. There are plenty of times when the GPU is the bottleneck and the CPU is not.
That’s true but always need to have the best boards to support all the rest of the component for future upgrades. CPU and Board are the one doesn’t change often. Meanwhile you upgrade your GPU every 2-3 years (some people does).

It is PC related.
First, give us your computer Spec. Desktop or Laptop? Board, CPU, GPU models?
When you run games, it will stress any computers CPU and GPU. In your case, 1. Driver Reinstallation. 2. Check your PSU (Power Supply) it may be failing (yes it will ages and wears out). 3. GPU might be dying?
Blackscreen happened to mine and I fixed it by replacing my PSU (power supplies) which it was failing to deliver proper 3.3v rail to my board under gaming scenario.
When you game, it stress your CPU at 100% and it will increase the voltage (demands more power). If your power supplies fail to deliver, part of the computer component shut down and end up bsod as well. Your computer may end up freezed up and reboot.

Return it. Get something better.

I had the same issue in Diablo 3.
Sadly, the marketshare is bigger on the Windows side of gaming in PC category of course.
Give us your motherboard model, please.
In addition, please have the option tab page (friends request, click to accept).
Board brands: ASUS, MSI in my preferences.
And you shouldn’t worry about computer ports these days. All come in standard USB2.0/3.0, SATA, PCI-E, etc.)
Unless you’re building a server…
Upgrade your current, is your current computer chassis a standard ATX mounting? If not you need to buy a new chassis which is sub $100 for a budget one. Then those standard goes on for years unless you want different fashion of the chassis.
CPU and Motherboard depends on your budget. You can go Core i5 or i7 with Z87 or Z97 board (current).
I’ve built a friend a rig 1.5 years ago, powering GW2 with Core i5 3570k + Z77 board with a GPU HD6970 which run perfectly fine.
GW2 is a CPU intensive anyways.
I’m not affiliating with Geforce here but here is some basic information you need to know.

There is a new driver released today, 340.52.
Sadfaces everywhere…
p.s. For those who don’t know… stalled/bugged story.
It’s probably Anakin… Rytlock will finally say “I am your father!” then Anakin responds, “http://www.nooooooooooooooo.com/”
An item that a character holds that gives a speed boost is not a mount IMO. It’s just an item with a speed boost. Mounts are something a character rides, sits on.
Visually, you are correct. But functionally, they are the same from the sounds of it.
For example, this is considered a mount in SMT: Imagine Online
Oh god no…. just no
Are you using recording software like FRAPS? DXTORY?
If you’re asking for my opinion…
Want to donate? Buy gems.
What if I want to pay per episode?
$0 it sucks.
$1 if the episode is so-so
$2 good
$3 decent
$5+ excellent story.
Should Anet create an option to support or donate money after each Living Story episodes? In a way, this will be a feedback for Anet story dev team to see if the contents are good or bad by the scale.
The better the story and content has to offer, the better rating and support it will get from community.
I feel like to donate $1-5 dollars even it is all free if you login on the update.
I wonder what would I do for 1 sec load. :/
So… they should fix those data centers then, yes?
As far datacenter such as Level3 for example. Common senses, please.
@OP best to find good casual dungeon runner friends and guilds. Then look them up.
It is not your systems, it is nor your servers… it is the datacenter.
Source: If it is game servers, everyone would have the same problem. But it is not the case, one do and some don’t depends where you live and connected from. Datacenter and ISP communication routing your connection packets has a lot to do from your location.
Just like going to work everyday, you’re in traffic. Take different highways. Some people get to work fast before you because they live where there are no traffics.
(edited by DJRiful.3749)
2.4Ghz wifi devices has a lot of interference in your area then, your device communication is being resent due to lost packets, hence, delay = lag.
I highly recommend to use Wired device or Bluetooth, forget 2.4Ghz devices.
I have 2 legendaries as well but why would you be disappointed. Those 2 legendaries are 100% top stats on any new updates until you get bored of the skins…
Not only that, they’re account bound, able to select any stat for ALL OF YOUR CHARACTERS..
Actually OP deserve nothing at all because of those convenient privilege (imagine how much money you’ll spend to make all stats type of ascended).
OP made 2 daggers/ swords/ axes/ etc knowing some classes will use two of them.
OP made his decision way back then, and also assuming it’ll be soul bound.
Now it becomes account bound, can pick any stats, and got a free title and 25 AP points, what more can OP ask?
In fact OP deserves nothing to begin with because he already made that decision way back then when it’s just exotic quality, soul bound, and with fixed stats. It’s a couple thousand cheaper to make all Ascended, I checked. Highest stats? Ascended was said to be the last gear tier. Ascended is also more functional because you can make many with different sigils for different builds, and if you have a legendary already you get to skin it as one. I care about the skin far more than the junk bonuses and would much rather make ascended, who even uses all the stats anyway, top 2 stat combos are zerker/dire for sword and that is all I use. Ascended wins all around minus the skin.
Are you sure? Did you forget something?
Both can switch stats anytime + sigil as usual. I don’t have to carry 5 different daggers/scepter stats.
I guess depends which class you play. Some class has more varieties for builds.
(edited by DJRiful.3749)
You’re welcome, whichever is better cost I would pick. PingZapper has 1 hr free per session not 30min. So at 1 hr mark , it will just auto switch off mode. Just switch it back on for another hour to keep using.
I know , but the problem is from GW 2 not from my internet…. i am able to play BF 4 on my ps4 without any lag … i can play any other games with no lag at all . The only game that is lagging for me is GW , and i dont know why and how can i fix it , if is my firewall , if is from the server … i dont know
It’s not you, nor is GW2 Anet. It’s the datacenter (Level3 most likely) it sucks everyday.
Use tunnel connection reroute another highway to avoid traffics. http://pingzapper.com/ref/djriful
[ YOU ] —→ [ISP ] --→ [DATACENTER] —→ [ISP] --→ [ GW2 ]
Just a very simple layout.
(edited by DJRiful.3749)
Same problem, fix it by using Tunnel connection: http://pingzapper.com/ref/djriful
You don’t even need to reinstall… just drag that gw2 folder anywhere and launch it.
Did you delete the local.dat file? Anything running in the background?
AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2
Ok, a few things to note here…
Notebooks are not going to be very good playing GW2… Specifically for two reasons…
1 – GW2 is actually a game that is very CPU dependent and not so much with being GPU dependent… With that said most laptops these days, even an i7 in most laptops these days are going to be dual-core processors, even if it says Quad-Core, they are likely to only have 2 cores capable of Hyper Threading.
2 – Laptops almost always run with a shared memory GPU vs Dedicated memory for a desktop GPU with an actual video card that isn’t integrated. This means that the RAM in the computer is shared with the OS and all of the software on the hard drive (Like Normal), AND the GPU. Meaning you actually have even less memory than is actually stated.
Now with all that said, you definitely could run GW2 on a laptop… Although, I highly doubt that you could actually get away with going any higher than medium settings on pretty much any laptop out there right now, unless you were wanting something that would cost more than $1000.
A couple of things that you should watch for when buying a laptop is this… Stick with Intel… You want an HD 4000 or higher with the GPU. You also want at least an i5, and finally you really want to get at least 4GB of RAM.
That all said, with $500 total you could get twice the computer with a Desktop than you could a laptop. I would still recommend that you actually get a desktop over a laptop. If you can’t though, I would recommend that you go with the laptop already recommended here in this thread.
Pretty much,
@OP, are you in need of a portable laptop? Or you just prefer a “laptop”? If you plan to play at home only, I suggest getting a desktop which has far more power. For now I would say OEM desktop (pre-build) since if you’re not that savvy with computers.
DIY desktop is cheap to do and usually twice more powerful than a typical pre-built computer but only if you know how to assemble it yourself.
Simplify this for too long to read…
1. Shows live “iLevel XX” instead of “Level 80” on your panel.
2. The “iLevel XX” changes depending what you wear.
3. “iLevel XX” is a bad idea to encourage discrimination in dungeons party. “ilvl 81+ only”…
4. Instead of “iLevel”, go “Tier XX” base for more coverage.
5. “Tier XX” again changes depends what you are currently wearing on your character.
6. “Tier” base gears allow gear progression with meanings for future contents.
In addition: Your character is unlocked up to Tier 13 gears and currently wearing Tier 13 gears. If you join up dungeon of Tier 4. You will be scaled at the highest in Tier 4. Those who are actually in Tier 4 (new characters), they will scale on the gear statistic.
This brings more variety and different in power even you’re under the same Tier with other players.
(edited by DJRiful.3749)
Good idea, but too much programming for them to make a change like this. They won’t even add more skills, for crying out loud
True… but it has to do with balancing across with other classes. Some long testing.
:c but we are funding them… some part of the community needs some soft progression with meanings and goals. Otherwise everyone at the end would be like… the point of getting better gears?
In addition: The ratio level gain is nothing change much. Just only get rid of the Level display and shows as Tier gears you’re wearing. (Not showing the highest you can wear). The indicator is live showing in which tier you fit with your current armors.
(edited by DJRiful.3749)
I am trying to come up a different approach and solution to innovate Guild Wars 2 into a better gearing system.
a. Kill the “Level” indicator
Why?: Max level, your character at level 80 means nothing now with your gears which are constantly changing between exotic, ascended and legendary in the first 2 highest gear tiers.
b. Character “Level” scaled on what you wear.
Why?: It is pretty much like iLevel but I know a lot of casual players would hate discrimination for dungeons run. “Only ilvl 82+”. So instead of ilvl in number, go by Tier level. This is like hiding the actual number and only shows which Tier your character is in and it gives a better coverage of player that can run those dungeons. You won’t know when you will hit Tier 15. If you did, it would be an achievement.
*Character Gear Tier Level: *
Tier 1 (ilvl 01-10)
Tier 2 (ilvl 11-20)
Tier 3 (ilvl 21-29)
Tier 4 (ilvl 30-35) Ascalonian Catacombs requirement
Tier 5 (ilvl 36-39)
Tier 6 (ilvl 40-45) Caudecus’s Manor requirement
Tier 7 (ilvl 46-49)
Tier 8 (ilvl 50-55) Twilight Abor requirement
Tier 9 (ilvl 56-59)
Tier 10 (ilvl 60-65) Sorrow’s Embrace requirement
Tier 11 (ilvl 66-69)
Tier 12 (ilvl 70-75) Citadel of Flame requirement
Tier 13 (ilvl 76-80) Honor of the Waves, Crucible of Eternity, Arah requirement
Tier 14 (ilvl 81-85)
Tier 15 (ilvl 86-90)
c. New character vs High level character.
As we already know you really can’t powerlevel in GW2 until you are legible to run dungeons in group. So this changes won’t matter nor will for WvW or PvP. Everything is still go by experiences gain to hit another Tier level. Once you hit higher tier level you can begin to wear the new base Tier level gears and work your way up to unlock higher Tier to wear higher Tier armors and weapons.
Alternative, you gain bonus experiences if you explore 50% of each zone before you move on into another zone.
For High tier level character, you can strip your character naked and back to Tier 1 level anytime. Just saying.
So you can’t make a new character and wear Tier 13 gears right off.
Gear powers your character. Naked = you’re nothing but a layer of skin.
d. Keep the same Experience gain bracket / bar.
As I said, this can be kept to gain and unlock higher Tier gears.
e. Okay, so my character is in Tier 14 gears, what happened if new bosses added?
For example, new Tier 15/16 bosses shows up and they are pretty much require some character with Tier 14 or better to be able to kill it or to survive the fight. But the minimum to run that dungeon is Tier 13. Yes you can go ahead run the entire party as Tier 13 but it will be TOUGH!
Experience gain unlock to allow you to wear higher Tier gears as you go.
f. How would gears set in which Tier?
Example of 6 slots for now, I don’t want to include trinkets and other weapons (too long to calculate)
5 pieces of Exotics which they are all rated as 80.
1 piece of Ascended rated as 81
Final: Tier 13 (lvl80)
2 pieces of Exotics which they are all rated as 80.
4 pieces of Ascended rated as 81
Final: Tier 13 (lvl80.6666667) round it down to 80.
1 pieces of Exotics which they are all rated as 80.
5 pieces of Ascended rated as 81
Final: Tier 13 (lvl80.8333333) still round it down to 80.
0 piece of Exotics which they are all rated as 80.
6 pieces of Ascended rated as 81
Final: Tier 14 (lvl81) CONGRATZ full Ascended set
g. Why of all these ideas???
1. it gives meaning to upgrade to Ascended / Legendary gears… It’s only 5%, it is almost pointless why we need those gears (~500gold?) today, everything can be done under Exotic gears… why Anet?
2. Allow better gears ratio! 10% stats increase not just 5%…
3. Allow to release newer gears with same stats set in higher Tier!
4. More room to create complicated bosses in different Tier!
5. Everything is scaled.
6. Unique MMO, innovate!
7. Level CAP is the OLD SCHOOL!
8. Better market activities, people will be buying up more lower tier gears to survive in higher tier zones (still scales but this is for new characters).
9. Encourage to visit every zones, less skipping.
10. Tier achievements! Why not!
11. Soft gear progression! You can still kill Tier 15+ with 13 but it will only be harder.
Suggestions are all welcome, I know there are flaws.
(edited by DJRiful.3749)
It will run but low settings.
If all possible, I hope that stolen key account get banned as well. Gosh, this is theft from GameStop!
How are your drivers? Are they up to dated?
I don’t think that Anet can fix on the spot. They might send ticket to Level3 to checkout what is going on. Pretty much speaking of Level3… might just contact them here:
NA East, my connection to GW2 always pass-by Level3 datacenter, and they suck.
There is something up with Level3 datacenter tonight, I am experiencing packet drop leads to high latency.
I hope they’ll do it some time. The people who played GW1 can have them for free and have them free to apply, the ones that didn’t play that game can pay for it and get it too and have to spend charges. Everyone happy.
I’d like to get me some HoM skins but I’m not going to play a completely different game that is 10 years old, outdated, doesn’t seem like a fun game to me and as far as I heard isn’t even a MMO.
GW1 free? Every GW1 holder has to pay the box copy or key for the game. It’s not free.
No,
I bought GW1 and unlocked for HoM skins. This would make me upset.
The Saiyan hair was ridiculous….
And this too, Anet: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/UI-Hero-Panel-can-be-improved-Here-s-how/first#post4218473
I got Kudzu dropped and sold for 90 gold long time ago.
Bought Spark – 130 gold (now 1275 gold)
Bought Storm – 70 gold (now 645 gold)
:D
No, GW2 doesn’t use much GPU power. 50% mostly. Did you update your BIOS?
Some mouse requires a more power than some normal mouse. If the USB port isn’t providing sufficient power. It will sometime end up no response.
Try to reduce your mouse Hz to 125Hz instead of running at 1000Hz on gaming mouse.
