It’s way too strict and the chat is going up too fast. Most of the time people missed out msg for any dungeons request and etc.
What issues with Nvidia? …Glitchs? BSOD? I have none to be honest with both running.
Exactly, having a GPU start with number GTX 6xx or HD7xxx doesn’t mean you can automatically run games at max or high FPS. It also doesn’t mean it’s faster than GTX5xx or HD6xxx.
First number is the series, second digit the is GPU range from Budget Low End, Performance and High End and so on.
the FPS is really unstable no matter what I do, it jumps from 12 to 30 and so forth
Those numbers on Low preset? If not, that’s about right. You can’t expect gaming laptop to perform the same as desktop.
I’m not sure where you live but I’ll give you the product model and part numbers:
CPU: http://goo.gl/RALrx
Motherboard: http://goo.gl/ekYSc
PSU: http://goo.gl/DiHKk
That’s the start.
GPU choices: (depends on your res, I assume you have 1080p. Those will do fine but I can’t guarantee for future games will always run at Ultra.
Range $250-$350.
GTX670
GTX660Ti
HD7870
HD7850
If you can’t built it yourself that’s fine, but look up those spec if you want to choose a premade (which is more expensive).

The logo? That’s your driver… not Anet problems.
By the way my budget is around £500-£1k i want the computer to last atleast 2-3 years in terms of being able to run games on max settings.
If you want a decent computer to run 2-3 years with max setting, you need to look at DX11 and DX11.1 cards. I’m sure you can push up to $1500.
My rig costs $3000 alone if you ask. Single GTX680 runs GW2 on High Preset 60-80FPS average. That’s 1x $500-600 GPU.
$1000 for 2x GTX680 will runs around 90-160 FPS in some area. WvW drops 50 for sometime but not always.
So you have a budget for $1000.
CPU – $200-300
Motherboard – $200
PSU – $100-150
Chassis – $90 – $100
——————————————-already at ~$700.
You have $300 left for GPU not counting HDD or other Monitor mouse keyboard.
A decent DX11 GPU to run everything at max you need to hit $400+ alone on it.
All my info on the market price is based on from last year and now ranging from all online retailer and locals. There isn’t much to ask to get lower, if you want lower. Get some second hands.
Overclock.net does has it own marketplace, a lot of users including myself are selling last gen PC components.
Like I’ve sold 2x HD6970 for $200-$250 each and it was a steal.

This happened like 10 times on me. I am blessed…
Under the Security tab of your account, you can see your active IP address. When I hit the Disconnect button, it will not kick me out of the game but instead. People sees me as offline, I cannot use chat or anything but I can still roam around in the map and do damages and etc.
So the security function is semi-working…
Change you password right now ASAP!
Those bots teleport around to the nearest target.
I’ve been watching these guys botting in one of the area for 3-4 days already. Wow…
These people on the list are chat spam, mailbox spam and botting. I had to add them into my ignore list to reveal their real account ID to you (Anet) to find them.
I understand some of these accounts may belong to someone who got hacked.
Edit: I’ve deleted the screenshot

You are looking at the wrong zone. The “next” zone is Kessex which is lv15-25, very reasonable for a lv14. You should be heading south of Queensdale not east.
That’s what I did, as soon I zoned in, level 24 mobs all around. Or did I zoned into the wrong portal under the same map?
I hope this get rid off botters but one problem with Human starting zone 1-17. I finished it at level 14 then I’m stuck because the next zone is 24+… Almost 10 levels differences.
This is BAD… so much cheaters already.
1GB on GPU doesn’t relate to performance entirely… Anet needs to fix what? Are you expecting to run 30FPS+ on $500 machine? hell no.
What oh god? You never gave more details what drivers and CPU and other system spec. GW2 is more CPU side than GPU. Most of the time my GPU runs at 75-80%.
Yeah, I was afraid this was the case. I’ll be getting a new pc in nov. so I’ll have to wait some time. Borderlands 2 in the meantime
anyways, $6000?? I didn’t know any gaming pc build can go up that high? I assume it can run on ultra then?
Another question: I have no idea how to build my pc—installing all the hardware into the chassis’ motherboard; so does anyone know a reputable site that sells you custom hardware parts but also build it for you before they ship it? Thanks a lot again guys.
Including monitors, keyboard and mouse. Yes. CPU, Monitors and GPUs are the most expensive alone. If you want to know the system tower cost. Not to be frank. $3000. I didn’t invest $6k one shot lol. It’s over a 2 years period of getting parts to finalize my PC. $6k is just a SUM of everything I have on my desk.
To be honest, decent FPS for GW2 is $800 min without tax and ship. You can get some Core i5-3570K + 660Ti builds and I assume you have monitors and keyboard already.
(edited by DJRiful.3749)
You have a Intel GMA HD3000, it’s right on very very low. Game will run about 15-20 FPS and it will be unplayable in WvW.
Did you get 306.23 driver?
I made a char a while ago, the server got rolled back twice.
1. Just killed the first boss event starting noob zone then boot out of the game.
2. Log back in, back to where I start at the very beginning…. oh great… Just like the time I just made my char.
3. Killed the boss again and finally pass the area and done some hearts. Logged out sleep.
4. Next day, back to the noob start like I just made my char again!
5. !??!?!?!!??! What is this?!?
(Not sure if this is the right place to put this but if not im sure it can be moved)
Hey,
I was wondering about how much of a difference using an i5 intel core would be over a i7, I’m looking at getting a laptop and have a choice between those,
i5-3210M (2.50 GHz with Turbo Boost 2.0 up to 3.1 GHz -2GB Graphics)
vs
i7-3612QM (2.10 GHz with Turbo Boost 2.0 up to 3.10 GHz – 2GB Graphics)Both would be with the 2 GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M Graphics card
Also would 8GB vs 16GB of RAM, is 16GB overkill.
With these components would that be enough to play GWs2 on Ultra with 1080p?
Thanks
David
No laptop is able to run on Ultra without overclocking…
This isn’t the devs’ fault—it’s mine; so I’m not here to complain about low FPS rates. I’m only asking this on this forum simply because it is the best place to ask.
Even on the lowest graphics setting and the lowest screen resolution, my FPS is only 10—15 if I’m lucky. I know what the problem is: my GPU. I was never a serious gamer until GW2 released, that’s why I don’t have a gaming desktop. I need suggestions on cheap GPUs (preferably single cards only) that can handle medium to high graphics setting. Here are my hardware specs:
*OS: Windows 7, 32-bit
*Memory: 4gb RAM
*CPU: AMD Phenom 8450 Triple-Core
*GPU: ATI Radeon HD 3200
*300 Watt Power SupplyI’m not an expert on computer hardware nor with their associating terms and jargons. I can play WoW (sorry if some of you think it’s inappropriate to bring that up here) on low-medium settings just fine. I’m only looking for a GPU that costs around 50-80 dollars in retail. Any suggestions? And if you notice that any of my other hardware is inferior that may be causing low FPS, can you point that out too? Thank you for taking your time reading and replying.
Adding a new GPU won’t make a different on your current system. I’m sorry, pretty much you need to toss that PC elsewhere. Maybe leave it for media home server.
Your whole system will bottleneck your GPU if you upgraded, other hardwares are unable to keep up the performances.
Secondly you’re on 32bit, if you get 64bit OS which is recommended today (2012). You need a min of 4GB RAM+
To run the game at Med to High, good luck finding $50-80 GPU. To run those settings you need to invest $150+ min on GPU alone. Or second hand GPU.
I’ve recently built a friend a PC Intel Core i5 3570k with 16GB DDR3, $1000 includes a second hand HD6970 from me $200 sold it to him. His PC is able to run the game between Med and High only. ~45-70 FPS on average.
Do you see the costs? Yup. btw mine costed $6000.
Best place to build a custom PC around $800, look up Overclock.net and ask. Many people will help you find the cheapest budget build to handle GW2.

Ok so what changes should I make in gw2 options to limit the fps ?
Enable VSync.
I have no affiliation but go to Overclock.net, you get to find more answers.
There is really no point running 60FPS+, you get screen tearing and that just FPS shuttering because it doesn’t sync with your screen. + without vsync, you’re asking to heat up your GPU.
Even my system can boast 400FPS on low settings, I would still turn on Vsync cap at 60FPS.
It’s just probably the guild server database is downed.
I’m angry, the FPS is too HIGH!

Where did your GW2.exe went? You’re not suppose to run .dat file… did you downloaded this from elsewhere like torrent (bad idea).
I wouldn’t run at that resolution, performance wise especially on notebook GPU.
Before blaming Anet about bad coding, can you all check your system with other people to see if they are having the same issues? Seriously, you can find me on Overclock.net. There are many computer savvy there to help you.
The higher the clocks on CPU the better for GW2 and least ideal 4 cores.
CPU is the critical part for this MMO.

WvW: Less skilled opponents. Major gear difference, and people who are potentially aren’t even PvP specced, and even higher chance to not run into someone who is geared for even a bit of toughness which is the anti-burst stat.
Long story short I’ve done 1 v 4s easily while camping the jumping puzzle in eternal bgs on my ele while not in great gear just because I was level 80 with toughness, and a PvP spec.
Having toughness is a major different on Elementalist, your survival rate is higher.
Real role would be in PVE. We are very strong in PVE combat to deal with adds + AoE Healing.
2 Professions can be called a healer; Engineer and Elementalist. They have the most healing abilities. Also we are decent in support.
Elementalist is fine if you master the class. I have 2 Elementalist (call me crazy. 1x Level 80 and 1x Level 10).
There are some abilities are weak in damages majorly it depends on your traits. MOST important thing for Anet to look into is to fix the Abilities and Traits bugs.
Some Traits aren’t working properly with the Skills at all. It’s broken, some of them are game breaking and some are not. Some broken skills will fix the survival issues such as cooldown bugs.
My issues is the Staff shooting cone. If the enemy end up a split second 145 degree either left or right. It cancels my cast and also due to the SLOW cast time.
Is that explain why a Thief, one shot me in sPVP one of the tourny? He was critting me for 7-8k per hit. I was so confused and angry and now I know why.
This happened at Frostgorge Sound dragon boss area as well. Something gone wrong when there are too many sounds to process.
I have an Asus Xonar DX

That’s what I did, Show Content, and drop the gw2.dat file.
The game is basically wrapped by the Transgaming software. Like Wine.
I still prefer BootCamp to play GW2. Performance is twice faster.
Armors looks boring on Asura. Sorry to say this but in comparison to other races. It have big differences.
Screenshot below are the SAME armor I crafted and I put on preview between 2 races. You decide which one looks best.
For the whole time, I have been wondering why all the armors I got looks like crap. How are other people getting those epic looks while in the past 80 levels. None of them looks good at all.
Then I made a human and do a preview armor test on them… Sorry, I’m rerolling. I don’t mine making the same profession and level it again. It was disappointing, for spending all my times on an Asura at the end.
I know stats wise what’s count the most but I’m on of the person also prefer styles. Especially in sPVP, stats are all same across all gears but the look makes up everything.
(edited by DJRiful.3749)
their scale is absolutely FINE.
wow gear style —--> that way —-->
Not sure what’s wow style are you talking about. This is base on my own perspective.
I assume you’re trolling.
Here is item tooltip.
If this is caused by the game updates change on item costs. Well they need to flush those old orders.
The buyer will never gets it and seller will never sell it because you get more by selling to a vendor instead.
Good luck Buyer.
I’m not sure but I ended up in some area that my FPS dropped by 10FPS and I decided to get into my Graphic setting and change Sampling and Shadows between 2 setting back and fore. The FPS issue goes back to normal at the same setting I had.
It is kinda reset the graphic and re-maintain the FPS. This made me think that at some point probably the GW2 is having some memory leak.
Yeah, I wonder how robot understands Fear.
Ok so i have been playing for a couple of days now, and everything seems to be a smooth 30-35 fps, i’m ok with that since i’m running on a laptop that i got like a year and a half ago, but it has crazy drops sometimes and i’m talking 5-10fps, in the middle of nowhere in instances and in citys, populated areas ect, put my settings pretty low, nothing, cleaned my computer out of any unnecessary programs, still doing crazy drops
i decided to look around the forums and people seem to be having sorta the same problem? even with better setups than me, but i just wanted to make sure if i can even look forward to some magic patch to improve my game somehow, well here are my specs
and if WvWvW will even be playable on this? if not then i can live with that
Processor- AMD Turion™ II N550 Dual-Core Processor 6.1, 2.60 GHz
Memory- (RAM) 6.00 GB
Graphics- ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 (512 mb)
Gaming graphics- 3197 MB Total available graphics memory
Primary hard disk- 164GB Free (446GB Total)
Hp Pavilion dv6
if anything, any recommendations on a new pc, preferably a cheap one(like 400$-500$?, or a little higher if anything) just enough to run the game smoothly on medium
A decent gaming system that can run the game at 45FPS + in most area is about $900-$1000 alone custom built + all the price match, mail in rebates and etc. This is what I’ve done for a friend, $1500 built (it’s cheap to me) but gets to run most game on near Max @ 1080p.
If you’re asking for $500 PC or laptop. it won’t get you anywhere. Low settings will runs around 25-40FPS and that result is coming from a laptop $1000 with 330M GT GPU on Core i7 CPU.
Laptop runs 1.5x slower than PC even you have GTX 680*M* GPU, it will still run 1.5x slower than a PC equipped with GTX680. Also laptop tend to overheat and it will automatically throttle the clock and performance to reduce the heat.
2.66Ghz 2007 CPU + DDR2 ram only 4GB, that’s your problem. The FPS you said it’s about right for the whole system configurations. By the way, HD 7770 is low end GPU but it’s decent for most games.
While it is lower, I would very much leave it there.
Why? Two reasons.
- It serves as a balance to our small frame. If not for our lower camera view, there’d be no reason not to be an Asura for PvP (Mesmers are an exception to this rule), seeing how it makes you more difficult to target. This way, our smaller frame is made up by our smaller camera height, which is an automatic balance. The tougher you are to click, the less you see.
- Speaking about seeing, this lower camera really drives home that your char is smaller. Just like the higher camera on a Norn makes you feel taller.
Hitbox and the camera is unrelated. I’m not sure you ever done 3d modelling. The camera can offset anywhere to the x, y, z coordinate.
People don’t click on target to target, we use TAB or auto target. So your point is irrelevant.
I cannot progress properly with any Heart events or dynamic events for 3 ZONES already.
40-50 60-70 zones are all BUGGED. What happened to Dragonbrand server?!?
Either NPC stuck there with defense icon and not doing anything. Nothing we can retrigger the events.
hi, i recently bought a new computer, for the purposes of playing gw2 on high quality but for some reason when i max out quality settings my FPS drop below 10. Does this have anything to do with me using a n300 usb dongle on my computer. Here are the specs of my computer please let me know whether its the usb dongle or my tower.
AsRock Z77- Pro3 intel Z77

FPS is not lag… it is unrelated.
The thread here is about the connection between the user and the server. Most of the time Anet can’t do much about it but open tickets to the datacenter which controls all the network routing just like your router. The middle man is having issues.
Alternative, I use proxy or other VPN service to reroute into another network datacenter (like take another highway instead of jam stuck on traffic one.)
The default driver should be fine on single card. You don’t need CAP profile because it is meant for multi-GPU only.
