yes if you start to lose this system bring you to probably lose more.
every member of team have similar mmr but the system select a random team for the matchmaking.
so if you start to lose mmr you probably lose again and again…till all this team with 0 mmr are left at zero pips, then you will have a fair match, you win (yes 2 pips!) and then at 2 pips you gonna probably lose again
they need to remove random team matchmaking, they need to have similar mrr avarage as possible.
no, that would just go back to the season 1 model of bad players being able to advance to legendary because they’re farming worse players.
at least this new system ensures that the people that are legendary/diamond actually deserve it.

I’ve had the easiest games at the end of amber / beginning of emerald, probably because that’s the point where all the people who cross amber through grind against low winrates gets stuck.

Were you grouped? Solo? What does that list show?
full solo que, having 10+ win streaks isn’t that uncommon, in fact most of the teammates i’ve had after leaving amber were on 10 game win streaks.
right now match making is grouping high mmr players together and vice versa (low mmr players are grouped up with similar low mmr players) but are playing against each other because both groups are within pip range, resulting in blowouts and huge streaks.
wait until the first bracket of players reach sapphire/ruby and the streakiness should be a bit less wonky.
um, the more you lose, the lower your mmr gets and the worse teammates you’ll get.
and since the higher ranked players are still within pip range of opponent searching, you’ll get steamrolled even further.
maybe you’re getting horrible teammates because you’re also a horrible teammate?

you’re getting matched with teammates of similar mmr, you’re simply not getting matched against opponents of similar mmr now.
why would anyone want to skip amber? those dyes and pvp tickets for crossing divisions/tier are worth money :P

I have an 11 game winning streak as a solo que right now and it isn’t that uncommon, the people in my team have mostly had 5-10 game winning streaks from what I’ve asked at the start of most matches.
the new match making isn’t luck based, it is grouping you with teammates of similar MMR or “skill” to you while only checking pip range for opponents.
so the people experiencing long losing streaks likely had low mmr and are being matched against simply better players.
sad to say that if you’re having 25 game losses in amber division right now, after brute forcing your way to higher divisions, you’re likely not going to have any easier of a time.

idk? its quite easy to carry ambers if the rest of your team isn’t completely overmatched by the other team like if say every other person in the match is at a skill level 2 and you’re at a level 6.
split far at start and win the 1v1, thats a 20-30 point advantage in the early game right there and you’ve already caused a snowball staggering effect to start match for your team.

Yeah, I agree with that, but as it stands now, it seems like the only way to get out of amber is to either be in a premade on TS, or just be a soloQ hero who can magically carry the team on their winged steeds. No thanks.
what? I got out of amber in 9 games as a solo que, the first 7 of which were played on mesmer to finish out the meta achievement.
maybe use a better build or class first?
I agree with the idea of guardian buffs, and im glad that these changes seem agreeable. Its just incredibly frustrating that a guardian can just sit on point and kill me over and over, regardless of my own skill, simply because im playing a thief.
if you see a guardian sitting on an empty node, you don’t HAVE TO immediately rush in, your team isn’t going to immediately lose the match if you don’t charge in RIGHT THE EFF NOW.
a thief’s ability to 1v1 a DH with all cooldowns sitting on traps isn’t and shouldn’t be the determining factor on if DH needs fixing or not.
no, a guardian is not in a good spot, core guardian has some of the most useless weapons and traits in the game (not named Warrior) and people have been using the same iteration of meditations since the game’s launch over 3 years ago while consecrations, signets and spirit weapons are obsolete.

scrapper hammer skills are pretty much zero risk, high reward since nearly the entire kitten skill bar is filled with offensive powerhouse abilities that also offer insane defensive abilities (projectile reflection on demand, triple leap finisher, lightning field that stuns etc).
no other weapon set in the entire game has what scrapper hammer has. you’ll almost never even get punished for spamming hammer skills on cooldown regardless of situation, they’ll simply be slightly less effective.
if you’re losing to a DH that’s using 3 or 4 traps on his bar, it really is a L2P issue.
yeah, how are people having trouble counterplaying invisible traps waiting to deal 100%-dead unblockable dmg in 2 seconds combined with daze, slow, immobilize and knockdown?
its so easy to counterplay!
only 1 trap has no cast time, that being test of faith, you’re never going to get hit by 4 traps at once unless you blindly jump on a node where a guardian is camping.
here’s a hint: if you see a guardian camping an empty node and you know for a fact he’s running full traps, ignore him and help out your team 5v4 the rest of his team.
if you’re losing to a DH that’s using 3 or 4 traps on his bar, it really is a L2P issue.
DH is just the fancy icing on an extremely poorly constructed cake.
Fix the cake, aka base guardian traits and weapon skills.

they’ll either remain worthless or buffed to such ridiculous levels that they’re essentially turret engies 2.0
having AI play for you is bad game design. spirit weapons in GW1 enhanced your attacks with different functionality (giving AoE damage, armor piercing, life steal etc)
Shiro’s heal is a step in the right direction of what spirit weapons should do.

As someone who has played guardian since head start beta I would gladly take a slight increase on true shot Cd (to say 6 seconds) if they did the following.
1: Make it no longer root you when cast
2: Slightly decrease the cast time of the auto attack (to 1/2 second)
3: Give true shot some type of secondary effect. (weakness, blind, cripple etc.. something)
4: Change the number 5 to a cone shaped attack that immobilizes (2 seconds) & bleeds (3 stacks for 10 seconds) all enemies it strikes with a 3/4 second cast time & 24 second CD.
Also good but longbow 5 should be a conal immob with high base damage, bleed is usless
Eh frankly I’d prefer a lower base damage + bleeds with really good scaling on the damage.
That along with various trait changes could end up making carrion, sage or merc very good on a guardian. 9the main thing holding back condi guardians after all is a lack of other damaging conditions besides burns.)

just because it gives 20 secs of aegis doesn’t mean you have a guaranteed 20% damage boost “at will”.
I’d much rather retreat be on a 10 sec CD while giving only 4 secs of aegis and swiftness.
Glacial Heart trait: -20% CD reduction, your critical hits chill enemies, your Symbol of Protection is a Fire Field….
why would a trait called Glacial Heart ever drop fire fields? Ice fields would be more thematic and also more useful
Mirror Blade: same cast time, have half of projectile speed, have double the CD, each damage bounce is 25% of trueshot damage and many of you defending true shot complained about mesmer burst (resulting in this skill nerf by 1 bounce).
At close range mirror blade could hit the same target 3 times. Post nerf can hit 2 times only resulting in 1.4 dmg coeficient (2.1 before nerf) vs 2.5 from trueshot (can still pierce and hit more targets without loosing dmg, and this cannot happen with mirror blade).
Conclusion: mirror blade was nerfed, true shot not.Just saying….
I would swap skills on the DH longbow for the Mesmer GS in a heartbeat for guardian (minus the clones that we can’t shatter, turn those to say…spirit weapons that we can manually activate)
why drop valor when smite condi (and by extension, the traited heals) were just buffed by 100%?
shouts are pretty terrible w/o AH, they’re also more boon fodder for necros to corrupt.
It’s hard to justify complaining about true shot when the tell for it is pretty obvious and it carries no special particle effects that can obscure what the DH is doing.
He’s falling on his knees and he’s charging. That means it’s time to dodge and or pop a block.
warriors have a skill that does exactly the same and yet it requires 3 adrenaline bars filled and has a 15 second cooldown so what exactly justifies true shot having a 4 second cooldown ?
because the rest of the longbow skill bar is god awful and our traited stunbreaker instant cast 65 second cooldown virtue can somehow be interrupted?
because DH longbow is an absolute kitten of a weapon without true shot

I wouldn’t run shelter anymore, between shock aura, necros, thief venoms, you run the risk of getting your heal interrupted too much.
Purification is better by far.

not at all, just another boon fodder for the necros to corrupt, you’re better off using another on swap or on crit sigils.
all of our virtues go on full cooldown if interrupted
have you given the combination of Scrapper runes and Hunter’s Fortification a try yet?
In my testing, I’ve been using a build that is pretty similar to yours, but LB/GS for higher damage (as a counter to thieves, GS2 is still king). The combination of Paladin’s amulet, scrapper runes and Hunter’s fortification has turned the mediguard into a more than competent bruiser with the inflated sustain.

your self heal doesn’t get buffed, it only affects how much you heal your allies by I believe.
