@Deihnyx
Um, correct me if I’m wrong but these are rewards exclusive to WvW. So, obviously they must dedicate more hours of play time per week in WvW if they want to get the new shiny armor. Also, not all veterans got instant access to all the armor types. Some require the player to be 2000 in rank. But the bottom line here is if the players that are now suddenly wanting to get the new shiny armor must put in the hours that the veterans put in to get where they are now. Just like with raids – put in the time, get good, be successful and get the shiny new armor. And for the back piece the players new to WvW will also need 300 gold to buy a commander tag if they haven’t done so already.
Let’s not forget the cost to get the new shiny armor either – lots of skirmish tickets(capped per week), gold and memories of battle(comes from reward tracks). No player had automatic access without the currency types needed.

My advice – instead of complaining about the pip system for hours and hours here, get into WvW and earn your ranks. Glory awaits.

Yes those rewards are dedicated to WvW. Yes they have to play more WvW. No 40/50 hours is not reasonable to reach last chest.
2 hours a day would already be a big dedication, bigger than any other mode to “cap” anything. We’re talking 6-8 hours a day here, this is nowhere near reasonable.

Also, if you read carefully what I said, by no means did I say that locking up armors to a rank is bad, I don’t think it is, on the contrary. What is bad is the amount of time needed per week to retrieve tickets.
Let’s all agree it should take longer for casuals or new wvw players to get t3 armor or legendary. It makes perfect sense. But now let’s consider this:
Warbringer is 2800 tickets: 16 weeks of reaching diamond every week.
Let’s say a new player is gonna play 2 hours a day (already more than dedication needed for raids) so 14 hours. And let’s be generous, they finish silver chest. That’s 45 tickets a week for 14 hours of dedication.
That’s about 62 weeks, playing 14 hours a week. Would you still say they need to play more?
Cause that is basically what you guys are saying. You gotta play even more than that to get remotely close to something, and that I do not agree with. These numbers aren’t even close to raids.

It has to stay fun for everyone. We can make it work so it allows veterans to get more without discouraging new players.

I understand that veterans want to capitalize on all the months they’ve played but retroactively expecting players to be high rank in order to not have to spend a whole job on a mode is nowhere near fair. The discount system is way more fair. Nobody lose timegated loot if they commit to the mode every week, but vets still get more out of them while new players have to rank up if they want to make the most of them.

Also thanks for making my point :p I’m complaining while playing it. That’s the “Glory” of it, you get pips by just flipping camps because there’s no incentive to do otherwise, and it’s not prime time anyway. (And for the record i did play 16 hours this weekend since reset. I think that commitment enough?)

Sorry for what? We can discuss fractals, sure. I stepped into fractals when I had to make C&C. What I noticed is it’s instanced. Some fractals is as simple as killing 1 boss. Sure, with a game mode so compartmentalized, it’s easy to measure “skill”.

The problem with WvW is there’s so much more to it than taking towers. There’s roaming, escaping outnumbered, blobbing, taking camps, bleeding supply, havoc groups, commanding, etc. How would you measure this? How would you even go about ranking these aspects in the game mode? Unless you’re some awesome programmer with savant-like algorithm knowledge, you break it down to what we have right now which is WXP. Like it or not, the game mode doesn’t have a metric to determine individual skill. In place, they use the war score so you have to contribute collectively.

This is something you need to get over. It’s not Player vs Player(sPvP), it’s World vs World so of course individual skill means less. That’s where ranking comes in. In no way is it an indication of skill, but it is a fair system which awards experience. And that experienced is measured in ranking. Want higher ranking? Get more WXP. Are you better at that random Gold Recruit you just jumped and killed? Sure you may think so, but you might be a thief and he might be running zerg gear. You talk about cheesing rank as if that’s exclusive to WvW. All the game modes can be cheesed. I addressed this earlier but the higher tier vets are not taking tickets away from me. Sure, they’ll get their’s faster but I’ll get them too.

I am not implying I am better than a gold ranked, that would not even remotely be true.

There’s two different problems that need to stay separated:
All the pips are passive
Whether I work hard to get better or I just keep flipping camps every 5-10 minutes when you start losing your tier, it’s gonna change nothing. You have to “do your time”… that is cheap mechanics.
So why not active pips? Like there are achievements for number of towers flipped, supply caravan killed, successfull defense, repair right? Why not having repeatable achievements?

playtime = rewards
Please. Let’s not pretend high ranked don’t already have perks, they have all their masteries unlocked, and they have access to T3 armor.
Want even more? Okay. I don’t think that’s unfair. Did it have to make all non veteran players need 20, 30 more hours of their time every single week just because of their rank? Now that’s an issue.
To put things in perspective, getting to the last pvp chest takes less time than that, and you have 2 months to do it. Doing raids take you 3/4 hours a week. Let’s say up to 6 hours, and you need 10 weeks which is about 60 hours (being generous), the idea that because it’s wvw you have to commit more hours is fine, but it’s just disproportionate at that point.
wvw exclusive players want a slow, long time goal to work on ? Well let’s not forget that getting the legendary back, all t3 armors and t2 weapons will take nearly 2 years to complete, no matter what. You already have your long time goal.

None of that would actually matter too much if the base commitment wasn’t that huge. I doubt any veteran player actually play 40/50 hours a week, that would be unhealthy to do on a weekly basis. Yes they played for years and ranked up slowly, while others were playing other modes. It doesn’t change the fact that if they were to try these other modes, they would never be asked such a commitment. That is the core of the issue right here.
And at the same time, some of these players will jump at your throat if you dare to mention tomes of knowledge or wxp potions, even though gaining xp that way was a thing before. This certainly doesn’t feel like veterans or even Anet are welcoming new players.

What would be fair instead is skipping entirely this pip bonus non sense and instead giving higher tiers discounts, from like 5% to 33% on all badge/proof/tickets things. And divide pips needed by 7 or more. They still get a decent advantage, but nobody needs to melt their brain anymore to get to last chest (they still need to stay comited). If I’m low rank I now have two options: Rank up fast and enjoy a discount, or not care and pay more tickets. What’s the difference? Tickets are timegated, ranks are not. So I can rank up at my own speed without feeling like I’m losing tickets.

What a bunch of sooks… unbelievable.
Just add these items to PvE to stop the whining.

Now it’s, “Why are people that kept WvW on life support for 4 years getting tickets faster than me?”

It actually goes against Anet marketing of Guild Wars, that was to rewards players based on their skill rather than their playtime. SPVP, PVE, even Raids don’t do that.
So if you’re asking why… well I’d suggest you put yourself in other people shoes.
It’s less a problem of PvE players being whiny than it is with pvp players being kitteny.

I am sorry but Zalavaaris is right. Fractals won’t take you nearly as long to get to T4. If you’re good, you progress fast. You will get to T4 before a WvW “new” player gets their diamond chest.
Fractals players don’t get additional rewards because they keep fractals alive, they get as much as anyone else at T4. T4 is not even a week of hard WvW work. That’s a fact.
Raids are based on skills. Yes it does take time to learn, but the rewards are not gated behind something that will take you ages to get no matter your skill, it’s the same for everyone.

WvW is another concept entirely. You can be level 10k and have “cheesed” your way there, it will still require the same amount of skill… to get a lot more pips.
That is what is broken here. You aren’t rewarded because you’re better, you’re rewarded because you played more.
Now getting rewarded for taking forts, wiping big groups of enemies, being a good dps/support etc, that would have to do with skills and could potentially be a reason for additional pips. But this? Seriously? No. The amount of time required in this mode every week is a lot for veterans, and is absolutely insane for newcomers, much, much mode than what is required from any other mode.

The least they could do, since they throw pve stuff at WvW players constantly (tome of knowledge) is to make them somehow usable for WvW as well. If not getting one level for one tome, they could make a recipe for tomes + proof of heroes or whatever.

Another suggestion would be to give higher ranks discount on stuff rather than additional pips. What would it change? Well everything. You could choose to either pay more in tickets/proofs/badges now to get your stuff or play more and earn discounts.

how long is the wvw pip ban on transfers?

Seems i lost 2 week for transfering. Patch came too fast after they announce it.

They also didn’t really explain anything until too late. I was told by the friends i transferred to play with it was gonna be a week. Here I only saw stuff that had to do with loyalty (not in the official message, I had to check in that forum about the necessary 100 pips /week to get loyalty).

I get it that they want to avoid people transferring for basically “cheating” but first it costs money to do it, and second, some moves are actually for legit reasons. I feel that moving after the announcement made sense. You get some interest in a mode, you wanna try it with friends.
Turns out it’s more like 2 weeks, 5 for loyalty. :/

Jeez the salt in this thread. It’s almost like some WvW veterans don’t want new players around. Don’t you realize that the more people are gonna have reasons to join, the more incentive it will give anet to improve WvW? Shouldn’t that make you happy? Also easier kills for you?
Can we at least agree that this new system, as it is right now, doesn’t offer great incentive for brand new players? You get to play a full job of WvW every week to get close to decent rewards, isn’t that enough for you to be considered “hard work”?

I don’t think using tomes is necessarily a bad idea if done right, you could for example have to combine 5 proofs of heroic + 5 tomes to get a WvW level. You are still required to play WvW but are leveling a bit faster. Is it really that bad?
To compare, the fractal backpack is a joke to get.

Tomes of knowledge let you auto-level for your pve characters faster as well. Let’s also not forget that obtaining high levels wasn’t always done through “hard work”, if you know what I mean.

I just don’t get this. Really I don’t.

Hey WvW Team, you’ve been incredibly responsive compared to the other teams. Care to give us an opinion on this? Thanks <3

And yet, did not ANet give us the ability to mass salvage, a convenience for everyone, for no cost at all?

So, maybe they can give us a cheap convenient way to sell 16 copper items. Such as a vendor all minor runes/sigils button on the inventory UI.

A new option to sell all green / rare runes would probably work yes, since it’s a new feature. However anything that involves giving permanent merchant for free wouldn’t, because then people who went through the pain of getting a merchant or tarrkun would complain.

And how much does that cost to get in order to have the ability to easily sell 16 copper items?

OP’s request is about convenience. And like any convenience item it’s not cheap.
There already are items that get rid of this convenience issue. If not Tarrkun there’s consumable merchants.
But again I don’t exactly see how you can get constantly full by just playing normally with an inventory that can go up to 160 items. Not even talking of shared inventory.
Getting full happens but it’s more an inventory management issue – or lack of bags (and the it’s 11g on TP, 100ish for extra bag spot in gemstore) but it’s not too much asked I think.

If you really can’t deal with it… There’s the Tarrkun delivery portal. It’s a merchant with infinite uses and you can keep the window open.

The moment they added the fractal tonic and the fractal weapons in a vendor as diff means of aquiring them all their value was lost. No more things should get that treatment.

It makes no sense when the only reason why something is valuable is through ridiculously low RNG. There’s no real bragging about having one sunless weapon. Nobody will pm you to tell you how cool you are for that lol.
Again, it wouldn’t be that bad if there was an alternative way. For example making those skins not account bound so they can be sold.

You can make something valuable without using cheap game design to do it. Legendary armors are valuable, for example.
Other example: The invisible shoes. They’re extremely rare and extremely costly, and you can get them through the TP. It just works.

I dont think i dissagree all that much with them being sellable on the tp but having low drops isnt bad design in any way back in wow items that were obtainable through nly rare drops had the most value in them value that disapears the moment you see them somewhere in a tp or a vendor tab.
Legendary armor holds value because its a big time commitement and because starting on that journey takes alot of time and dedication. Wping to teq half and hour before or 10 mins for a 8 min fight doesnt.

I’m not saying it should be sold for a ridiculously low price nor that it should drop at every fight, but let players obtain them like the invisible shoes or something. Something that doesn’t force you to do these two fights for years with basically no chance of ever getting the full set.

Before the patch that would let you buy golden fractal weapons I already had half of the collection, the RNG wasn’t nearly as bad, you could get more golden relics by salvaging weapons, and you could test your luck with 4 relics to get a skin you didn’t have. It was still slow progress but achievable.

Hello Dear Anet.

Right now, the only way to get a special sunless skin is by getting very lucky while defeating Tequalt.
It might be fun a hundred times, but even a hundred time isn’t always enough to get ONE skin.
And there’s a complete set.

This set, and Triple Trouble skins (well, there aren’t nearly as many) are just pure RNG and a nightmare for wardrobe skin hunters.

Idea: Why not letting us trade X tail pieces or tooth piece against 1 skin (doesn’t have to be ascended, just the skin please)? There would still be some kind of RNG involved but there would at least be progression towards it, whereas the current system is simply dumb. You have to get -very- lucky, no way around it.
RNG is a pain when it’s the only way to retrieve something.

Third party DPS meters and game hostility...

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Deihnyx.6318

Deihnyx.6318

I am not anti meters, if people feel like they prefer them, then they should be able to,

I do think the larger issue is the reason why people want them. I think that the raid content was designed with high DPS in mind, which I think is a flaw in and of itself.

If DPS didn’t matter, and your success in the content was based on difficult mechanics… Like complete challenging mechanic or fail the encounter, then it would have a much better design, and the entire debate wouldn’t even come up.

It makes me wonder, where did high DPS = high skill cap originate? They are not always synomymous.

Most fight won’t require top DPS.
Wing 1: VG is definitely not the DPS race, a good group composition will bring you decent DPS and that’s all you need. Gorseval? If you can’t reach dps, do airdraft mechanics, done. Sabetha can indeed be a little of a DPS race but is mostly mechanics heavy.

Wing 2: The 3 bosses are definitely not DPS races. Matthias like Sabetha is mechanic heavy.

Wing 3: KC can be DPS race, but if you miss a checkpoint you can still recover.

Wing 4: No DPS race. In fact they’re a joke. Not talking of CM of course.

There is no real tough DPS check. I think group composition (making sure to have alacrity/gotl/stacks of might etc) is more important, and that’s more knowing the mechanics of a class than anything. Sure having really good dps make the fights easier, and that’s why some people get toxic over that. But let’s face it, a group that fails a Xera, Matthias, Deimos isn’t cause of DPS, just because they don’t do the mechanics well.

Third party DPS meters and game hostility...

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Deihnyx.6318

Deihnyx.6318

I am personally not a huge fan of dps meters, but not for the reason mentioned by OP.
It makes -some- players want to compete for DPS instead of focusing on mechanics.
Let’s be realistic, there’s only a couple raid bosses that can be DPS checks, and it’s not even that bad. A boss like Deimos for example, is made far less subject to screw up if you simply stand in the middle and range the boss instead of trying to melee him and avoid the oils. But nope, some people want their DPS to look good.

However, to the contrary of what OP said, it can actually help AGAINST toxic people. Without any form of metrics some pseudo elitists will love pointing fingers, it happens all the time.
DPS meters aren’t perfect for every situation, and in my opinion should not be used outside of raids, but if you’re joining raids and don’t want to play “well”, you’re making 9 other people waste their time. The main source of hostility in raids is due to people lying about their skill, and not dps meters.

Some of the content was already brought back. And some other content wouldn’t be too hard to bring back.

Example:
- The marrionnette. Make it a world boss that spawns every X hours just like TEQ or TT, where’s the trouble? Is it lore related? Because in this case, Tequalt shouldn’t spawn since Zhaitan has been long time dead…
- Toxic Tower: Well we already have the fractal for it, it’s not as big, but it’s something.
- Molten dungeon/Aetherblade: Same thing, turned into fractal while skipping the boring parts. So it’s “in game” already.
- Ascalon battle: Yeah that one… why not make it a festival? Beating up Scarlett again would fill me up with joy xD
- Jubilee/Four Winds: Why not bringing back these festivals?

Deihnyx.6318

100g you earn in a few days of casual play. Are you saying they’re killing the game because they don’t hand you over immediately everything in the game, requiring zero effort from you?

That is absolute unfiltered bullcrap, you have as accurate a definition of “casual play” as the Trump administration has of “middle class”. And you’re far from the only one, I’ve seen people on these forums make the same claim, only to find out they either play the trading post, exclusively spend their playtime farming, or play as much as or exceeding eight hours a day.

For your reference and others:

1. Casual does not mean playing the game like a full time job, heck not even like a part time job, 45 minutes to an hour and a half is reasonable amount of time for the average person to have to spend on a single game every day.

2. Casual does not mean crunching numbers and doing research on what is the most profitable content, and it especially doesn’t mean endlessly repeating that content, or any content for that matter. Casual players play a variety of content and rarely even know what is most profitable to play.

3. Casual does not mean playing the game economy as if you’re a freaking day-trader, in fact primarily playing the economy barely qualifies you as a player at all. You’re more akin to a gold seller.

One extreme to another…
You do need only a few days to get 100G. That is if you play content that actually justifies getting a top tier armor. As a fractal player (the only content that actually requires ascended) you do make 100G pretty quickly.
If you don’t do fractal, if you don’t do farming, and basically if you refuse to learn the game mechanics to make money, yes it’s going to take you longer…. as it should. It’s a top tier armor, there’s no reason to hand it over to you if you’re not going to dedicate some time into it.

Casual should not be used as a wildcard for everything. Casual players totally have their place in this game, more than many mmos. But that’s it, they can do story, they can explore, they can do dungeons, they can do fractals. That’s most of the content. Please let more dedicated players have their own stuff as well.

I agree with you, sort of. 100g for an armor set really isn’t that much considering the high price of leather right now. I mean hell that’s not even enough to craft 2 sets of exotic armor. Yes, I know that there are better ways of acquiring exotics, but this is mainly meant to show that 100g worth of crafting armor doesn’t get you far anymore in GW2. Wanting 2 sets of exotic armor doesn’t exactly make you a non-casual player. Yet that would require more than 100g to craft right now.

And I also disagree that casual players can’t want ascended, or that wanting ascended makes them not a casual player. This is a very fashion oriented game, if you want ascended skins then you want them, and the only way to acquire them is to pay to craft them.

Well, I hope they never want the legendary skin then.
If a casual wants ascended that’s fine, but they must put the amount of time for it. Just like any game really. In solo games you can use cheats/trainers if you want everything immediately, but for any multiplayer game a high tier skin will take some dedication. Guild Wars 2 is not even the worst. Just check Counter Strike / Team Fortress and the ridiculous amount of MONEY required to buy some skins.

That is utter kitten.

“100G is indeed a few days of playing the game.”
Perhaps, but not with casual play.

But Ascended is not for a casual player, therefore I do not take casual players into account.
Because if the top tiers armors and weapons could be made by players playing 30 minutes a day, it’d be seriously disappointing.

For casual there are exotics, and it fits all casual player needs. You can do story and dungeons with it. You can also do low tier fractals. Anything that requires ascended (high tier fractal or raids) are not for casuals anyway, so what’s the big deal?

Imho as long as you pay for it in the first place, I don’t see how badly it would impact economy.
It’s not like if you were destroying your 50G concentration sigil everyday in order to replace it. And then paying 50G again to put another one back.

One thing they could do is making it account bound once used though.
Or If they want it tied to a weapon somehow, you could make it so that once a sigil has been applied once, it’s added to a dropdown of previously used sigils that you can reapply, pretty much like the stats but with sigils. And you need to “unlock” them per weapon.

Just like the karmic merchant, or the HoT token merchant (forgot its name) or even the fractal reliquary, they do not spawn anything and their window will not close when you move.

Pretty sure fused was at 7 tickets at some point.
You can just buy gems and convert to gold to buy the chaos from TP. I guess it won’t be as kitten tickets.
Another thing to do also, whenever they change the content of BLKey, try to get the set of the current weapon you can loot in the chest, they’re about 30g each, and you get 7 tickets by finishing the set.

A guild can choose to require full rep time because they try to build something special with their members. That’s fine. They won’t be forced to change their rules because some people will be able to join a 6th guild. Consequently they won’t lose anyone, because they will already have the kind of players that agree with their philosophy anyway.

Full rep is a philosophy I have no problem with, however it’s simply not what all guilds are for. The moment you accept 5 guilds (which Anet did), you understand that some guilds will have more or less values in people’s mind, you can assume they will have a favorite one and will use the others as utility, or for specific content, whatever. They’re free to use guilds the way they please. If said guilds don’t want them because they don’t participate, there’s a kick option that won’t disappear with more guild slots.

Once again, the core of the issue here seems to be that some people want their definition of what a guild is to be recognized as the only one valid. Some guilds are used as glorified LFG, so what? If the guild is made for that and actually helps bringing people with same interests together? What’s the big deal?

Even the quoting itself is pretty strawman, quoting things out of contexts yet you say it isn’t.

So let me get this straight, I take your LAST post (out of context apparently lmao) and split it up to answer your points one by one. Even that doesn’t make you happy…
What did you want? One full quote of your post and debunking all your non sense in a big bulk of text so that you can blame the structure again?

I give up, the dishonesty is just astonishing.

~ And the strawman wildcard was used ~

1.

Your first post didn’t show your intentions behind it, it is a simple wanting more. It is your latter posts that stated make your intentions obvious, you want more regardless of the cons or pros.

Okay? Let’s see shall we.

5 seems like a lot, but having a raid guild, pvp guild, wvw guild, social guilds… it actually fills up pretty fast.
Anet, do you want monies? I’ll trade you money against guild slots <3 please ?

Guilds that ask for 100% rep aren’t gonna disapear because of that. Anet making extra money, the UI is already built up for more than 5 guilds… so win win situation?

Paying for more is the best compromise. You still don’t get unlimited guilds, but for those who really really want a few more slots as their implication in the guilds grow, they have the possibility to do so.

I fail to see where I hide my intentions.

2.

You conveniently brush aside logic as shown in your first reply to me and then conveniently deny it.

Alright, first reply:

Because people’s interests aren’t always the same. PVP players don’t necessarily want to do PVE content, casual guilds don’t want to be bothered with raid talks, elitist guilds won’t want normal players…
There’s a lot of reasons why one big guild simply doesn’t work.

PVP interest can be different to WVW interest can be different to social guild can be different to pro raider guild can be different to casual raider guild, and so on. Please demonstrate the lack of logic.

Your first line already don’t make sense because here you are talking about combining PvE, PvP an WvW together elsewhere my post is about putting the same type of guilds to form a larger one.

That’s your answer. You stripped the second part of mine only to keep game modes. You don’t include casual/pro/social in your reasoning, at all. Still. Not sure where you see me “denying” anything. Those things aren’t mutually exclusive.

3.

You then selectively read my posts, only concerned about the word “greed” which I used to reply to the other person while conveniently ignored the other points have made.

Greed and selfish yes, as you used many times. It’s not ignoring something than to ask for clarification about how you feel impacted by it.
I’m actually interested to get answers to my questions, which you finally started giving further down your post.

4.

Guilds are being used as glorified LFG, that alone is enough of a reason not add more guild slots. Guild is a social organisation and more, not just a LFG. What kind of social benefits are there when intention is just a glofied LFG?

That’s the core of the issue right here, you have a problem with how people are using guilds. The issue your mentionning can be true (or not) whether people can have 5 or 6 or 7 guilds, it changes absolutely nothing. I do have a few social guilds and a couple that are mainly for raids. Those are not nearly as social but they still have a purpose.
Pretending all guilds all have to be about social is simply untrue. TTS just use guilds to bring a community together, do some events at some different times of the week, and some of them actually meet up on TS and do more stuff, just not everyone. Same goes with a raid guilds that are together for one reset night or a couple nights a week. Different philosophies again.
At the core of the issue, I understand some people want their guilds to mean something. But I fail to see why it’s gonna be a problem with people being able to access more guilds rather than just leaving/joining. If a guild leader wants to develop a guild bonding, they can set their own rules, like asking for 100% rep.
By the by, I’ve only ever been in one single guild that ever asked for full rep, raid guild, and it ended up being one of the most toxic guilds there was, silently kicking people for not playing properly. Best definition of a pool of people for LFG right here.

5.

And sure, I am judging, are you not? This isn’t a topic of asking for help, it is a topic asking for opinions and opinions can involve some degree of judging. Judging about how guilds are run isn’t condescending because it is about guilds and guild slots.

The problem I mentionned is passive aggressivity, aka starting all your post with calling out people for having prejudices, structures issues and now strawman, without ever backing that up directly. These political tricks are just irritating. If you think someone is wrong you can demonstrate it.

Well.
Yes, it impacts guilds that asks for a 100% requierement, but not more than having 5 guilds instead of 1. It’s optional, up to the player to follow the rules of the guilds they want to be part of.

Personally I have 1 guild I am emotionally connected with (+200 people), another guild that’s more RP oriented, 2 raid guilds (one for experienced, one for progression trying to build a static during a week) and one for reset night. That leaves no room for pvp, wvw or fractals.
I am perfectly aware that no everyone need a guild for everything, or even many guilds for raids or roleplay or whatever. Thus why it can stay option as a paid option.

Please stop with the constant passive aggressivity. It’s getting quite annoying to be honest. If potential structure issues are the only thing you can come up with at that point, It’s time to stop. I don’t like quoting lines after lines and I won’t start with you.

Let’s try again one last time shall we? Maybe this time by comparing with the convenience items/gem purchases already in place:
Do you get impacted because some people have more shared inventory slots? Do you get impacted because they have more bank slots? Because they pay for additional characters to get extra inventory? Because they have their own private, small guilds? Because they have permanent access to merchant or bank? Because their gathering tools won’t break? Because they have in 5 guilds instead of 1?
Answer honestly, and stop throwing that shallow argument that people are selfish when they decide to make/join multiple guilds. It’s been demonstrated that more slots can be needed. You feeling the need to judge how others are managing their guilds is just out of context, and frankly condescending.

I don’t give a quaggan about what you do with your own game, as long as you’re not trying to cheat, then I don’t care. None of my business. Some people have 10+ characters just for inventory space and that’s fine. Now If you pretend that adding a few more paid guilds slots is going to affect your game (aka “social interactivity”), then prove it. Otherwise, one must be extremely self-centered to fight so vigourously against something that does not concern them in any way. To me, this argument is as ridiculous as if you would complain because people wanted more than 2 crafting license per character.

Finally, yes I made it clear that I want it for my own convenience, and that I was willing to pay for it. That’s the whole point of asking Anet about it, you know? The purpose of a thread is to see who else wants it. You’re basically stating the obvious and yet somehow tries to make it sound like it’s a bad thing. I don’t get what you’re trying to accomplish, at all.

I read it as it is, is fine if you deny it. Regardless, back to your main points of your reply.

Guild competitions sure exist and as I have mentioned earlier, people wants to be chief but what has that to do with anet? Anet gave the players 5 slots of up to 2,500 people but if players decided that they do not want to fully utitlize that, it is the players responsibilities to accept the decision they made.

If players decided to use up slots to make personal guild bank instead of using it to join functioning guilds, then be responsible for that decision.

Have you ever considered the social implications of increasing access to thousands potential more people? It is really never about social, it is really just about selfish needs.

5 guilds is fine as it is now.

At that point I honestly don’t understand your definition of greed and selfishness. Some kind of self retrospective would be nice here, we’re talking about a request that would not impact you in any way and you are telling people what a guild has to be about in your eyes to be considered legit. It’s out of context and is kind of selfish on its own.

I am not chief of any guilds and couldn’t care less, I do not own a guild for stash, sorry to disappoint. I am still having issues because of the different communities and game styles I join. As said by someone earlier, social interactions are what matters in guilds, philosophies aren’t going to be the same depending of who’s in charge. Whether it’s a 10 player casual guild that are there to play together and slowly develop their hall or a 500 hundred multi guild like TTS, or even a second raid guild because that first one requires too high of a level for some friends you want to play with, they all have grounds to exist and none are against the ToS, you as a person have no grounds to call one of them selfish.

And by the way, even if I was using a guild slot as a stash, and even if I wanted my own guild of 4 people so I can be chief for selfish reasons, I don’t exactly see why it disqualifies the request here. It’s a feature of GW2 that we all paid the same price for, let people be “selfish” (lol) if they want to be, it’s not like this game like any MMO wasn’t about bragging and fashion war and basically playing for ourselves already anyway.
Having 7 guilds for selfish reasons or 5 isn’t going to make a difference. Well yeah, more monies for Anet.
As much as I loved GW1 I wouldn’t want to go back to its guild system that was very limited in bringing people together.

And what social implications about increasing 5 guilds slots to +x? I mean I truly have no idea what you mean by that, other than the potential chat tab issue that was mentionned earlier.

Paying for more is the best compromise. You still don’t get unlimited guilds, but for those who really really want a few more slots as their implication in the guilds grow, they have the possibility to do so.

Your first line already don’t make sense because here you are talking about combining PvE, PvP an WvW together elsewhere my post is about putting the same type of guilds to form a larger one.

Somehow, I get the feelings you are replying with prejudice (I don’t even know you, not like this the first time people are doing this, lmao).

I’m explaining – if that wasn’t obvious – why having many guilds make sense. 5 guilds slot fills up fast if you want a taste of everything.
Only one raid guild? Have you even tried joining some of them? There are as many different raid guilds as there are philosophies. Some of them expect experienced people and well test your skill, some others are there to help training, or simply to get a static done, and it’s the same for PVP/WvW. Some guilds will only ask for experienced and others will play it in a more casual/friendly way. Not only that, but guild competition is always going to be a thing. Really if you expect all the raid guilds to combine together I don’t know if you’re been around raiders long enough…
And one last thing. Nothing is preventing you from creating your own personal stash guild, or small guild for your roomates or close friends. If Anet didn’t want that, they would have done something about it already.

And I’m not even sure what you’re talking about with your second sentence, it’s not like if more guild slots would impact you in ANY way. Where’s the prejudice here? It’s been requested quite a few times for a reason, there’s actual demand for it.

Instead of having so many guilds, why not the guilds consolidate to form a bigger one? If multiple raid guilds combine to form a large one, you easily can find more people to raid with and gets a lot of things done. Likewise for pvp, wvw and pve guilds. Finally, a social guild of a size of your choosing. The main point is the guild is designed to be 500-men large, if people are under utilizing that, it is not anet’s issues, it is players created issue.

Because people’s interests aren’t always the same. PVP players don’t necessarily want to do PVE content, casual guilds don’t want to be bothered with raid talks, elitist guilds won’t want normal players…
There’s a lot of reasons why one big guild simply doesn’t work.

And here’s the 100 million dollar argument: If some people don’t need it, it’s optional, they don’t have to spend money on it. If you’re against it, you can simply forget this option exist, no harm’s done.
Guilds that ask for 100% rep aren’t gonna disapear because of that. Anet making extra money, the UI is already built up for more than 5 guilds… so win win situation?

Could have something like 35 bauble for 1 assassin coin, or something like that, not too easy to get but at least give a way that is not locked behind Yet Another Timegate™

That’s now 2 sets locked behind timegate. Okay Kaiser can be obtained through other ways (RNG god or super super rich) but that’s still heavily timegated.

If there’s one thing to remove from trib it’d be the trib clouds, because they bring RNG where it doesn’t belong and some of them are just there to be annoying, without adding real difficulty. Or also fixing bugs… cause there’s a lot this year…

I have the same issue with raids, we have someone in our guilds who got lots of ghostly infusions while most of us only got 1 or 2.
There’s always a guy who will get 3/4 mini pets per run, a few weapons and rings, while the rest of us get nothing.

I guess people don’t mind broken RNG systems otherwise it’d be out of MMOs for a while now.

But oh well, at least with fractals and raids there’s a way to grind to get something (even though it takes YEARS of raids to get complete sets) but with a set like the sunless one, it’s just not reasonnable to rely only on RNG to get the skins.
