Hello, I have a problem. The last two weeks the ping reaches 3600, before the ping was no more than 120. The game started to fly out, and sometimes the right mouse button is turned off. With the Internet I’m fine, please help.
I have that right mouse click problem once in a while too – someone brought it up on reddit as well but I am not sure if the dev and that guy ever resolved the problem, I am also getting it on my fourth new mouse so it’s definitely not an issue with the mouse, I think it has more to do with the latency issues – the right click doesn’t register which leads to plenty of deaths in wvw for me.

As for lag I am still getting plenty of it, I usually take note on which ip it is happening on with /ip command in chat. Sometimes the server is stable, then it has lag spikes. The thing is, whilst the ping may be stable to that particular server testing with third party ping software, in game it is all over the place. I’m guessing in wvw it’s when the servers are overloaded and possibly from all the condi builds and passives I seen people running that doesn’t help with the issue that probably contribute to some kind of bottlenecking in calculations and syncing between clients.
Hm, not sure what the times you are playing at but I am playing on server against you guys and I don’t see a shortage of people from your server – in fact many of the times we have outnumbered buff on eb quite a bit, although it is most likely different from what you are used to from back then. What server time do you usually play? I do feel the same way about communication, but I won’t hold my breath and just try not to get frustrated by it and take what I can because I still do manage to have fun. TBH though if you moved server, I’m not sure how long down the line you might run into the same problem you’re having now due to bandwagoning effect from general populace.
Speaking of which, now with the change to the way traps work, does it synergise well with revealed training? Is there no icd for revealed training?

Seeing as it hasn’t been changed all this while I don’t think it’s high on their priority list or maybe even not considered. I just end up using bandit’s defense cos it was annoying.
For some strange reason, my pings are finally normal to the server now (210-230ms) but the lag spikes are still present (600-4k) so I don’t think much changed at all heh.
Yeah I only hit stuff in the circle closer to char and not past the other half of front of circle, it’s a little awkward because it doesn’t hit reliably with targets in the circle at all – that or it is a symptom of my latency but this is how it’s working for me now.
Many of these suggestions seem fairly reasonable – hope anet can look into it.
Yeah, don’t know what server you’re on so I can’t comment on that, but where I am, both the servers we are fighting are almost entirely running condi builds exclusively (or at least a high percentage of the groups/blobs/roamers I come across). This matchup has been the most condi I’ve encountered as of late and I am glad that reset is coming soon (although that is not a guarantee I won’t encounter this hell for next matchup). There were still some power users but the condi builds outnumbered them. Usually in the past year I’ve seen a mix up but maybe it’s cos of these weird matchups with higher ranked servers that I see the true extent of condi users.

Fantastic map, and I love having the advantage of knowing all the nooks and crannies so that I can defend/attack the map when needed. I think if people spent more time on it to learn its ins & outs and let go of their hate for it, maybe their minds would change. It’s a really fun map and I think people just need to get to know it better. I do think of course there is no changing some people’s minds that are set on hating it, which is fine – not everyone likes the same things.
I have one of my thieves with a similar build like this but trickery is 3 2 1 and daredevil is 3 1 2, running staff/staff with energy sigil, not using nomads though. Great for tapping, can survive most things (my build I mean, also using -40% stun duration food or -20% condi duration depending on enemies, have to make one change in acro for condi enemies). You will end up annoying the hell out of people, can use soldier armor with zerk runes is fine and rune of your choice. Enough to deal dmg to some but the more tanky/bunkers will probably spam /sleep but at the same time they can’t kill you. Can usually take on outnumbered, they usually send zerg or groups after me. Other thieves will get mad at you and probably cry or just give up.
Of course it isn’t invincible, it just ends up annoying people but they will eventually learn how to beat you. This was one of the only builds I had that I did not need a use for shadow step which surprised me as all my other builds are so reliant on it.

btw.. i also heard someone saying that they could use a wall to stack stealth somehow.. dont know how that would work.. since i dont play thief
Hm, if they want to use a wall for stealth it’s either with CnD (cloak & dagger) or they use it as a crutch to help them get a few heartseekers into blackpowder (can also do this against any terrain which a lot of ghosts thief try to do out of line of sight, eg against cliff). L-shaped walls are the best for getting 4 heartseekers if you aren’t good at it yet – just have to time them properly or it jumps you the other direction.

10k backstabs is pretty low…. Although I haven’t played much power thief lately but I clearly remember CnD hitting for 7k and backstab follow up is 17k+ on a Mes…. (I only fight light classes with my power thief lol)

The permastealth-trapper thief needs to be nerfed. There is no counter play to this. It’s toxic and should not exist in this game.

Specifically dbl or other borderlands too? I suppose I am lucky enough to see action on all of them, though I see some people don’t like going to dbl but I do. If we are talking bl in general, we’ve been taking our enemy’s bay and towers and defending them it’s been rather fun and we’ve had some good fights, not all won of course but everyone fought tooth and nail against each other.
Yep, getting it bad on my end too, it’s been pretty bad for god knows how long but today it’s taking a few minutes to load into a map.
I can’t help but think that skirmish rewards will further promote bandwagoning – wonder how they will do it without that happening. I just don’t want anything negatively impacting those of us that are already struggling against blob servers – I don’t want to see more people leaving my server but that’s just human nature.
If anyone at anet reads this, could you add a hover text over [M], [EBG], etc for channel tags so new people know what they stand for? Also maybe possibly to only show for /t chat instead of also showing every little thing like when my contacts come on. Thanks!

I’ve had them well above 2k, hitting 10k without disconnects. Also taking 30s to get through a gate portal to even up to 2m+. Wp’ing can sometimes take longer. Luckily (or not) those don’t happen as often as the normal skill lag or just the 1k spikes. In any case though, the lag is real, for me and many others. From what I observe it mainly seems server side.

Beyond what you can reasonably do on your end of things with settings etc, you can’t do much about what skill lag is present because it is a server side problem. Hopefully one day they will figure out a way to reduce it or eliminate it completely.

While technically it is not allowed, it can not be stopped either.
Vast majority of driver suites for mice and keyboards come with macro and hot key functionality.
Also, even if yours is so incredibly outdated that it doesnt have these functions, you can still do it via Windows input set up, character map, etc.
Guild Wars 2 is a Windows platform game, and in order for macros to be completely eliminated, A-Net would have to ban and force people to uninstall their input device drivers and parts of the operating system on which the game runs. Neither of these will happen.
Can you imagine how many players there would be left in GW2 if they banned people that have windows functions installed ? I’m willing to bet that even you do, but you just are not aware of it because its not something you use, but it is there ready for you to be used if or when you so desire.
I was only stating that multi action macros weren’t allowed. I am aware of all manner of ways macros can be achieved, even back in the day when you could control serial ports using the most simplest of things like qbasic or going out of the way coding it in asm. These days it’s even easier. Let’s not even go into injection into the packet stream or mem. Not sure what triggered your post – I was only stating what has been said before with regards to macros but thank you for the info!

I remember the owner posting the vid in here a while back and I think he even posted the build. I think there were a few more videos of it. I like how those people just stand there taking the dmg lol, it is nothing like that where I play and thieves like this would be eaten alive.

I’ve had this happen a few times in wvw which made me pause a few times but I thought it was a mistake on my end so I shrugged it off. Now seeing this post it makes a lot of sense now why I died even just auto attacking. Ridiculous dmg in 1 tick. If anyone is able to explain it in more detail and/or how to avoid it somehow I’d be grateful, I experienced this while using warrior (gs, sw/shield,mace/shield), thief (d/p,d/d) and a few other classes (engi, guard, necro) so I am not sure what would trigger it on those.
now i get 235ms ping, and i don’t think this is TM Nut’s fault, as there are players from other countries having this same issue as well.
Anyway, thank you ANET if you’ve done something.

I pinged the ip above and was getting 285ms though so for that server it’s probably ok.
Can you guys using tmnet tell me what pings you get from these ip’s?

Thank you for testing. This is the ping I am getting now in game, and as you can tell, at that ping it’s not very good for reaction play in wvw lol but this is what I’ve been having to contend with.
Oh yeah that 64.25. ip is from anet I think, not your tmnet ip. I just need the first six digits of your tmnet ip to know what range you got. Something like 175.144, 174.138, 60.52, 60.54, 202.188, 210.195, it looks like this. The reason I want to know is, if you are getting about a 240+ ping on your current tmnet ip I want to try get on that same range to see if I get the same latencies. The routing between the different ip ranges on tmnet gives different results, I usually have the best luck on 210.195 and 175. ranges but in the end it also depends on which anet server I land on as not all 206.127.159.etc give the same ping latency results.

some of my friend here in malaysia not lagging and can play like usual..thats weird..
What game modes and what are their ping latencies though?
For now, those of you on streamyx/unifi, try to cycle your connections to get a different ip range – it won’t fix it but it may help improve it only slightly unless you use a vpn. Certain ip ranges will at least get you to around 315ms if you ping certain server ip that you are connected to (type /ip in game to find it) but it will still flip flop and spike. In the last day or so since the US login servers had problems, I’ve been having really slow logins (I play EU though) so I am not sure of how much that affected us on EU side. Maybe they still have issues with ddos? who knows.

Remember when you stand stil, the game automatically gives your attacks a 360 degree attack radius. meaning it will automatically turn you to attack some1 behind you, or follow some1 if they jump all around you.
I think for me it doesn’t work unless I have “autotargetting” and “snap to ground” enabled in options, but I have them bound to a toggle key, at least that is what I think is causing it not to work unless it’s something else. I have keys to toggle them both depending on class and skills I use, as I hate targetting a leap trying to get away from enemies and instead diving back into a zerg cos I didn’t have enough time to click an empty space. Sometimes though even when clicking an empty space it goes to my last target which causes me to die XD
I’ve experienced this and it is frustrating – getting a call for help on home bl and emergency wp is opened, click and waiting for it to load, as it is loading it briefly flashes the screen of the wp and then sends me to a different place. In the end emergency wp was wasted, objective was not able to be reached in time, and people were scattered.
Those of you in Malaysia, also try rotating the ip range and testing the connection. Currently for my connection, the best ip range with the lowest latency I can get around 210-270ms ping is from the 175...* range. I get higher latencies on 1.32.., 210.195.. [this used to be good too]. Mind you, there is severe rubber banding/spiking that is a seperate issue at all and seems server side – depending what server you play on [I play in EU] and it can randomly spike throughout the day at around 12pm/4pm/Primetime all the way to 10pm server time [this also depends what tier you’re playing, the bigger the blobs and coverage the more you will face it]. Of course it is the worst on weekends though, where mornings would also have lag spikes. I’m not saying the above will fix it totally, but it should help some, whereas I think a lot of the problems are still from server side issues [this is only my opinion]. I’m in east .my btw. I wish we could get a lower latency connection but it does not seem possible. For pve my 210-270ms is ok, for wvw it’s survivable, but you may have issues in pvp where it matters more. Still playable though. I hope it helped. Best of luck!

Let’s say if they ever do think about implementing a dueling system, maybe they could do it so that if they accept the challenge they are transported to an arena freeing up a spot on the map and when they are done (possibly end match via an emote or timer) they will be automatically put back on the map they were on (and/or automatically queued into it). Less chance of trollers trying to contest stuff, less chance of being run over by a zerg, less chance of bystanders chasing zerg tails, and gives a chance to let people get onto the map, etc. However whether duelers will actually use the function if implemented is a different story altogether potentially rendering it useless. Just an idea though cos I can’t really think of anything else other than dueling spots at some far corner of the map which will still be useless if duelers don’t bother. In the end I don’t think there is an easy way to deal with this due to whether the player wanting to adhere to it on their own will.
Do you mean it does not disappear if you swap ambush trap with another trap on same slot? It disappears for me unfortunately this way.

The key to killing
The key to the killing an enemy is traps do not disappear for minutes after you set them. This allows you to set an ambush trap (swap the utility with trip wire, use it, then swap back) as part of the trap spike. Place everything all right on top of each other.
Traps disappear when you swap them (after laying them down, swapping that skill slot with another trap) – or have I misunderstood what you were trying to say?
Friend of mine has this issue as well but mine is not affected, I’ll let him know to try a /repair to see if it helps but at least anet should be aware of it now if it’s caused by another issue.

In hero window goto build tab, the druid specialization has to be enabled at the bottom most specialization entry.
I’ve had this issue but it happened to me way before the patching (1-2weeks which made me stop playing on this char) so I don’t know what is the cause. Hope it gets fixed or at least what the cause of it is, I’d like to play wvw on my druid without such hindrances.
Is snap to ground target maybe enabled in options?
Complaining or not, it is still a valid issue for many, not sure why you can’t see that.
So I bought a superior shield generator with proof of heroics and when I went to use it it said that i require the HoT expansion to use the blueprint. Wtf, is this a bug or a joke? I then tried to buy a regular one from the Trading Post and same thing happened. If this is for real then Anet please don’t let players buy it and waste their proofs of heroic or money on the trading post. If possible please fix this, i have been playing for over 3 years and since new HoT it seems you have just been screwing over the veteran players that have not bought HoT expansion. Also in addition I better not get them as a drop or a chest please or ill rage QQ and lastly we can still use them if they are built which makes no sense. Im dissapointed and I haven’t really said that even after all the lame things like how the new classes are way better than the old version or when you added more condi(cheese).
TL;DR Players without HoT expansion cannot use Shield Generator blueprints but can still but them with proof of heroics and from Trading Post aswell as use ones that are already built. Poorly implemented.
I’ve mentioned this before in a previous post [you can dig from my past posts]. So to sum it up:
- You can buy both shield gen blueprints but cannot use them
- You cannot even deploy them
- You have to send them to someone with HoT to deploy and then be able to build.
- If you try to interact with shield gens, you get the skills options and cannot use them of course, but when you move from the shield the skills are still there until you use swap weapon button which could be potentially deadly lol since you don’t have any of your 1-0 weapon skills
In a way I understand why you can buy them so you can send them to teammates for use but still it’s kinda kittenty we can’t use something useful like that. I suppose we better be prepared for other things that might be coming up that will be like this.
WvW = War. War is a 24 hour thing. It doesn’t stop just because you went to bed. I am so tired of hearing about nightcapping and scoring. work on ways to overcome those challenges. Your playtime isn’t more valuable than others.
