Over empowering PPK will only add to the blob factor as numbers > skills. Nobody will engage if they feel their casual play style will ruin it for others, especially against a bigger blob.
Other than that there are a lot of good ideas for improvements seen here. I might actually log back in after having not logged into GW2 for a few weeks.
Pretty much all of that. I’m on BG, only reason I went to BG is because roaming was super dead in every tier except tier 1. I like it there, but I’m not going to pretend I have any loyalty to any server – if stuff gets boring, I’ll transfer again some day lol. I’ve transferred 16 times (I think? Maybe more) between my 2 accounts. Transferring guilds happens a lot, people just need to realize that lol.
Its hardly just a guild transferring servers though. Its organising for multiple guilds to transfer to the same server and then hypocritically trying to claim that its for the good of the game overall, followed up by more hypocrisy in claiming other guilds should spread amongst different servers.
Groups of guilds jump ship all the time (bandwagoners). So it’s only the hypocrisy that bothers you? Fine. You could have said that in the first place. Just so you know there’s definitely a ton of hypocritical people in this game.
TC was the server that double team BG with JQ during season to make BG lose. TC was the server that accepted the sh**er alliance to manipulate glicko. TC is the server that forgets all of the un honorable things that they do all of the time and makes threads like this.
How does a server “accept” any guild/player? Last I recall only Anet has the ability to manually turn transfers off.
You also assume the servers from the past contain the same guilds and members you can take revenge upon today. That’s very likely not the case and you’re basically targeting people who don’t even know what you’re talking about. It’s like boycotting an entire store over one employee who has since then found another job. Lol!

As for the guilds moving around, geez you guys act like you’re new to the game. A majority of the guilds in this dump have changed servers a number of times. All of them could be considered bandwagoners, traitors, etc. But you guys get your #tiff panties bunched up over one dude. Lol When he was on YB (before they slowly divided their guilds across T1) it wasn’t even as bad as you guys claim.
Wow T1 still looks like a kittening joke as BG/ET are out blobbing the next two most populated servers in the game. But nah let’s kitten smaller servers instead of hitting the fattest to bring them down a notch. Looks like T1 is going to be a toxic landfill for quite some time. Lol People often blame siege but don’t tell me wvw doesn’t die a little on the inside when you keep throwing a server at a handful of people. “Great fights” indeed. Lmao!
Now we can sit back and watch as BG/ET kill what’s left of Anet’s attempt to bring life into the beta.
BG is where the fairweathers go. Once the badwagoners meet up with fellow wagon servers they’ll burn themselves out while YB chills.
I’m glad BG got trashed for as long as it did. Now when they try to blob PvD thinking they’re getting any sort of retribution against players like myself (who lol’d at BG’s failures for many months) who haven’t logged into wvw for the past two weeks their revenge is suddenly hollow and laughable. The damage has already been done.

I spent part of last nite trying to figure out why the queue was 25-28 deep in the YBBL and the EB bunch was outnumbered. It was then I remembered alpine was back. From what little I’ve dabbled in WvW since the “link”, only difference between AR & YB is at least when I log back in, YB hasn’t been completely erased from the map. The outnumbered was pretty much another day at the office for AR.
Lol Yeeeeah… expect outmanned buffs until matches change. The fairweathers are out in force. Hopefully you’re able to at least get some decent fights with DB/SoR. Haven’t logged in much to see what they bring but it couldn’t be nearly as blobby.
There is also Wai who stays up for days on end to PvD with his blob guild. No skill required- just tag up and everyone would know it’s time to ktrain. Then he would boast about his PPT abilities on the other forums right before YB snatched it away. Lmao He would flip out and run himself and his guild ragged for nothing.
Of course that was all before the kill guild dissolved.. much like whenever they got into an even numbered fight.
This thread is so cringe worthy. So many juicy stories about JQ and their OT PPT guilds, their bad commanders, the creepy ts, the community, everything- so much moldy laundry getting aired out I can’t even breathe.
What an awful upgrade that heavily favors blob servers able to camp SMC at any time of the day. What’s worse is that certain servers use cloaking waters in conjunction with dragon banners, chilling fog, and airships in order to beat the 20 people trying to get to an inner gate. The way things are is that once the blob gets SMC they have it T3 for the duration of the week and it straight up sucks the fun out of everything because it’s such a crutch.
Lol You guys are being foolish if you believed it was for balancing. Some matches lucked out, others have turned into such an overwhelmingly lopsided match. For Anet to blindly fold the servers and match lowest with highest RANKED as opposed to analyzing data for the most accurate pairings shows that this “balance” is to save face. After sitting around idle and watching the game mode die they recognized that the low populated servers needed to be merged in order for the neglected game mode to look active again. Usually I would blame players for stacking but these matches are now the direct result of Anet’s doing. If they ever plan on balance and fixing this pile of kitten they better do it soon or else they will find themselves having to fold the remaining servers yet again.
“When BG wasn’t trying”. Yeah like those 40k leads during the weekends before YB got on and dominated. The last week that mattered was two weeks ago when BG dropped the ball after staying up all weekend to ensure a massive lead. OOPS!! Oh well.
Now even when BG completely blobs the other two servers down they still seem so angry all of the time. Their map chat is always full of hateful remarks and spiteful comments towards each other and YB. I feel bad for the poor souls who have to be paired up with BG and are told get on tag or get off the map. If BG can’t even enjoy themselves during a beta testing phase (when they constantly lost 1v1 against YB before team matches began) then all I can really do is shrug and collect my daily BG fries. Tasty!
When the pairing changes, I expect the comments to suddenly change back to “BG wasn’t trying”. Of course it won’t matter then either. None of it will until beta is over.
Until then, like I said, this only confirms the damage already done to BG over a long period of time of losing to YB.

Now the chest thumpers come out at the first victory during a BETA .This only confirms that the entire time everyone saying that they weren’t try harding really were and it was crushing their souls for months. Good to know we were right the whole time.
I still don’t understand why an OCX server (IoJ) was paired with a SEA server (JQ) when NA was needed to provide for better matches.
ET should have been put with JQ but I think they were working off of older information where JQ still looked to be strong. YB is running very low numbers at the moment and did not seem to take to the unification as well as BG.
A big problem is that JQ and YB are locked. We had to transfer to a lower pop server to unify our guilds returning members and no way were we going to AR. We also didn’t want to fight against YB so ET/IoJ were out. Fortunately our new home which is a former home has a pretty vibrant unified population.
It’s a beta after all so I’m not surprised there are lopsided matches. Once they get things sorted I’m sure the motivation for certain servers to win will pick up and we’ll be right back to where we were.
Also, YB not taking to the unification (as well as BG)?? I may not be logging in a much during these beta times but when I do there’s no issues seen. Should we make a PR thread too just in case? Lol
As much as I enjoy the linking system, I don’t think it will work. A lot of players from the low tiers enjoy the low tier environment and now everyone is forced to play a high tier style of game play. No one wanted to play in a dead tier but that didn’t mean they wanted nonstop action. Also players have developed a competitive hatred for other worlds. Now they get paired together & it’s causing a lot of discord between hosts & guests (not all). The guest world have lost their identity, switching team speak servers every couple months is hell for everyone & there are multiple other problems that I don’t see getting solved. World linking solves one problem but creates a whole host of other problems.
I believe the best solution to this is a clean wipe. Remove all worlds and create all new worlds. I would still remove at least 2 tiers. Even with the new update & with all the people who came back I do not believe gw2 has the players for 8 tiers but we have way to much for only 4 tiers (NA but same principle for EU). With 5 or 6 tiers it would make each tier a different style of play, & reduce queues. With a clean wipe and free transfers people could finally reunite with all their friend who moved out of the dead tiers & form a new identity. In a sense, everyone gets screwed equally instead of screwing all of the low tiers. What do you think?

They may as well delete and clean everything out as opposed to this method. What’s going on now feels like a silly after party when the matches people cared about are already over.

Server identity is no longer relevant. Forced temporary merges has destroyed any sort of server significance or pride in week “victories”. People who didn’t want to join the blobfest had no say in the matter and are being targeted for absorption into the bigger server. “Join our ts”, “get on MY tag”, etc etc. The assimilation is already underway to pick off smaller servers before they rotate off to some other unbalanced blob show. It’s really sad.
Last week was the last to care about one server beating another. Now it’s coalition blob 1 vs slightly smaller coalition blobs 2 and 3.
Speaking from the [BG] perspective, I’m not sure why people are surprised. Why was their no outrage about balance when … YB [was winning]? Now 4 days into a new patch BG is actually playing again…
We need a clean thread to discuss the tiers and how the matches are balanced. Every match in NA is already lopsided within a day. For creating good matches, with balanced coverage and populations, I’m giving the Dev’s a D.

when tc drags db (JQ nor YB will stay) up to t1 and db implodes, they will have bg to fight on the weekends and doors during the week…… congrats well played…..
Isn’t that the case with BG? Although this week I expect more BG fairweathers to stick around and ride the head start gained over the weekend.
YB currently consists of too many smaller guilds that want to do their own thing to forge a unified zerg with larger guilds. That isn’t a problem that needs to be solved at least from the perspective of many YB players. YB is doing very well and by most accounts enjoying the game quite a bit.
BG also has many micro guilds. The only difference is that they work with the rest of the server, so we end up achieving greater results. My own guild was once in this position, only it has grown now to the point where we can no longer be considered one of those micro guilds.
It’s not necessary that these guilds merge into a larger guild. All it requires is that these guilds are more willing to work together with other guilds on the server.
IE Only follow one tag in ball form. Teamwork at its best.
Yes, the problem is even when we send commanders over to YB to try and teach [our commanders?] to not be one push material, they still die as fast as they can and run back to PvD. LOL
Are you referring to your guild commanders/founders? Because I’ve seen some… fight gameplay from another popular site… I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t have any followers.
I would like a detailed list of said commanders and time frames in which they arrived.
If TC wants to move into T1 and T2 wants the larger pop server to move up, TC has to PPT non-stop. Breaking through Glicko is a bear. YB was basically crushing T2 for months before they moved up.
I believe it took a total of two months to break the wall. We made quite the impact in a relatively short time frame.
If BG wanted fights all they would have to do is split up into groups of 10ish. There would be skirmishes everywhere. But if they’re really that unwilling maybe it’s best they go to T2. Unlikely though because JQ is hanging out and TC is caught in a snag.

All of this talk about YB this and that, meanwhile BG is tryharding on empty maps. BG is boring. When they don’t blob up with a dozen guilds they run away to the nearest portal and man 20 ACs. Useless server needs to be replaced with a more relevant one. ASAP.

Maybe both servers just see Yak’s bend as easy points? They don’t seem very coordinated and definitely appear to be the weaker server in WvWvW.
For some reason there’s always a group of Yak’s Bend players in eternal battlegrounds that will defend their keep and towers to the death. Except in the same amount of time they’re getting completely steamrolled and lose all of their stuff in their borderlands.
There’s a massive timezone in which YB is a ghost town and it’s typically exploited for easy PvD so the other T1 servers can finally ascend to tier 0.
That group of YB defending on EBG is pretty much it. There’s nobody else online.
Did they? And no I am in NA. It’s just I watched FA go from being on top, to being hilariously at the bottom, unable to hold anything or do much of anything. If our “still active” WvW player base is still only able to barely scrape the bottom of SOS’s shoes….I don’t think we are doing very well :/
But hey, those fights though, huh?? Now you can look forward to SoS back capping and building ACs when you finally manage to capture anything. You’re finally free from YB so enjoy!! Woohoo!
