FA isn’t even close enough with rolling an additional 100 for a 1% chance. T1 comepletely locked themselves away and are worried about 2v1s as if it mattered.

As of right now:
2,122 BG (lowest T1)
1,977 FA (highest T2)

Maybe now with DB going down, T2 could push FA up for lols regardless if they want it or not. It would still take a long time for both sides to push/pull glicko.. may still be worth the kittens though and make the switch (for the better in T2).

Yeeeeah… It would take a 2v1 for months with the additional help of the server imploding in order for you guys to break free of T1. FA going to T1 is not happening unless T1 drives one out and T2 willingly pushed FA up.

Good to see somebody sticks around on servers these days instead of bandwagoning.

It sounds like your guilds are (currently) attempting to dive to T5 where matches will likely be closer. If I were you I would save money and ignore investing in structures as they’ll be flipped without any of those guilds batting an eye. Don’t be upset as this will probably be temporary.

Or you can fight upwards against the current and recruit others to join your cause. Just because other guilds don’t want to hold anything doesn’t mean you have to play their way either. It’s easy to stand in a field, it’s hard to hold onto structures, and even harder yet to upgrade them so the burden will be on you.

Everyone will play their own way; you’ll just have to put a lot more effort into yours. Good luck.

You meant “ambush” right? I think the bush idea can already work and they may have likely something in the center jungle area. This won’t stop people from zerging but it may help a roamer escape from one.

I intentionally picked the smallest asura character possible for tactical benefits, such as being able to hide behind a tiny tree stump when being trageted by a LB.

I would say terrain and how large your character is plays a moderate roll. Being tiny does help. Asura master race confirmed.

If you pick a guild first, be prepared to pay for hefty transfer fees whenever your guild moves servers.

I will say this though: YB has commanders that are the most dedicated to WvW, most (if not all) servers and tiers know of them and their guilds.

We also play the way we want. You won’t be lectured for playing your way, provided that it’s not cheating.

The upgrade is more for fending off other NPCs that spawn and attack the dolyaks so you don’t have to escort them all the time.

A better addition would be the ability to upgrade dolyak toughness/vitality. In case guards glitch and are far away attacking other creatures it won’t make it a pain to kill the dolyak having to track them down. At the same time if they were by the dolyak’s side the increased toughness/vitality would give the guards an extended amount of time to deal damage to players and make their upgrade more worthwhile.

There are no differences.

Guilds transfer servers all the time and players transfer guilds all the time. The result is a arbitrary and futile attempt to label one server when that server may not even have those same players any more.

So catching up on fractals, doing the Snowblind stage and running through the dark woods with torches while wolves and baddies jump out from behind trees got me thinking: why not make it similar in WvW?

It would look cooler with groups of torches and ambushes (albeit given away by red text walls), especially when first person comes out and you’re running through some dark area chased by other players it sounds like fun! lol

Granted this is likely doomed to get shot down because of.. “stuff”. It may come across as odd that PvE night would be brighter than WvW night, but meh. Just a fun idea to throw out there. If not the whole map at night, maybe a particular area in another borderland map in the future?

Inb4 “go to the dark room in OS”, nobody really fights there. However, it does show that it could be applied…

The above posters make it sound like players are out there being intentionally malicious just to sabotage other servers.

If only you knew about the amount of toxicity which a lot of FA players have towards YB. There are the common rivals between other servers, but then FA takes the toxicity to a new level.

Players aren’t to blame. It’s ANets fault for not keeping the servers in a healthy, viable state. Every MMO in existance has server transfers. They also merge servers. For whatever reason, ANet doesn’t seem willing to do it.

Players are to blame. They don’t magically move to a “winning” server for a free ride and they aren’t forced to move either. They move because they were bought by another server or fairweathered off because they prefer the easy road. ANet tried to fix this with free transfers before and guess what happened? HoD bandwagon. The game is set up just fine. It’s the players making poor decisions and pointing to ANet as the culprit. Maybe things wouldn’t be so dire if somebody took a second to think before jumping servers and compounding the problem.

Who’s more at fault? Tier2 because they have a 4th server pushing a server out every rotation? Or tier3 because they don’t have servers healthy enough to handle the rotated server? What’s a better solution? To disolve FA because it’s the odd man out or to merge the undervalued servers up the chain so Tier3 could close the gap?

Initially it was DB that threw T3 off balance and pulled FA and SoS down multiple times (with the help of YB). Then the buying and recruiting of T3 servers began so FA/SoS could stay in T2 for [insert various “for-da-fites” reasons and justification]. Now the WvW popluation gap is so extreme. It’s the fault of server buying and those who accept and fairweather off.

If the tier3 servers weren’t roflstomped every week and their score was competetive with the rotated out tier2 server, eventually the rotation would stop and we’d have a healthy tier 1 environment, a healthy tier 2 environment, and a healthy tier 3 environment.

I wouldn’t mind a rotation provided that the servers were competitive. There’s nothing healthy about T1’s match fixing so all three servers stay in one spot. There’s not going to be anything healthy about T2’s match fixing. It would be ideal to have all servers within a close RNG range for tons of diversity and different outcomes.

Not sure if it will ever go back though since multiple servers would need to implode. Those who were bought/fairweathered need to go back to their original server and help keep things balanced. At least a few guilds on YB knew this back when we roflstomped T2. Of course they went back to T1… T3/T4 could have used their help but whatevs.

My understanding is that the new borderland will rotate with the current borderlands. This means there will be a mirror image of 3 borderlands (new OR old maps) and the amount of playable maps in WvW will remain the same.

There will likely come a day where a new borderland will be introduced after this one and each server borderland will have its own unique map.

I also think it would be fun to merge onto one massive map, but restrictions and lag say otherwise.

If their health takes a dive bomb from agony it will be obvious. They could easily be kicked from the group and replaced, meaning they wasted their time clearing the fractal as punishment.

T1 Server - Why Stay?

I thought TC was the nice server. Whatever happened to the happy go lucky Dolyak Parade having TC?

We have parades every now and then. I really wish fireworks could be used in WvW! I have a few stacks of various fireworks that could add to the festivities. Boxes of fun don’t cut it. :/

Anyway, if T1 doesn’t have parades I see no reason to stay there.

Thanks Gus for dealing with our siege griefer that was following our group around yesterday. It was a most welcome sight to see them dealt with. You rock!!

What did he do with the griefer?

Gus suspended the account. I believe it was for two weeks. They were caught placing irrelevant siege to block placement of legitimate siege. We also saw their placement of 50 or so siege as well as ‘stacking’ interact objects (plates of food, for example).

If they violate again the accounts held by them will be terminated.

By “accounts held by them” do you mean all troll accounts purchased along with their main account gets banned? How is the linking of accounts verified? I do like the sound of this idea as it would give second thought to those who buy “throw away troll accounts” that feel no consequence to their main account. If they invested in trolling, they likely have more than one troll account.

Biggest cash grab: have a troll sale weekend, then ban them all when they think they’re being sneaky. lmao

Northern Shiverpeaks could use more people. T1 is blob vs blob. You may find smaller scale fights in silver league but you may come across the odd T3 matchup vs a blob server. Then there’s the possibility that you may never be able to transfer back to T1 once you move.

I would go for having you move to servers that need people rather than having your friends/family try to move onto a T1 server. You would be helping to bring balance as well as playing with your friends.

That’s a lot of.. random stuff.

My point was if there was a mirror matchup with the same gear/sigils/class/everything the only one that wouldn’t end in a draw is the rng sigil. One way or another sombeody lost because rng wasn’t on their side. Won because of luck.

As somebody in a guild named [CROW], I would not mind seeing black wings on everyone running and jumping around.

It would be an improvement from that annoying tron backpack. I am tired of hearing that thing comment every time the person jumps/swifts/falls/kills/anything ever/etc.

This in game voting approach may get some former PvE people interested in WvW. It would be even more fun if the voting was done every once in a while to constantly change up WvW based on who (or what) won the WvW votes.

Voters who are uninformed but have an equal vote are detrimental to getting anything done. Since this forum in its entirety represents the ideas, complaints, issues and analysis of the player base that has cared to post, and is maintained by ANet, why would popping up a “Do you want this? Yes or no?” window to everybody in the game (out of which only a non-majority percentage actually WvW, if my impressions are correct) to decide about the intricacies of proposed changes?

These “uninformed” people are the reason why WvW is so dead. If you’re not even going to reach out to the massive player base already here then this thread is already shot down. Nobody installs and goes straight to WvW and stays there. They all come from PvE at some point. Engage them and get that massive population into WvW.

The thoughts posted on here should be preliminary ideas. The best way to reach the population of players is in game.

Perhaps there should be something similar to the voting of Gnashblade and Kiel where the outcome is decided by the players (1 vote per account, not by gold). If you want to hear the true thoughts of the GW2 players make an event out of it and have the ideas for WvW changes to be voted on.

I can gather almost 100 bolts for demask every 2-3 days from salvaging items drops and armor bought with dungeon tokens. Earn gold and gain scraps this way instead of “I want it right now” and throwing money at the TP. If people would stop acting rushed the supply would drop the price. The xpac won’t be for some time so really… no rush.

It is most likely an AoE skill that wouldn’t make ranged enemies fall from walls.

Think of “fear me” but opposite, which may be an annoying combo.

True. This week is a farming week for dungeons, boss trains and fractals for YB. It’s a nice vacation from having blobs or an all thief group sitting at our spawns. If anyone on YB wants to map WvW now is the time to do it.

I only think SBI and HoD try for the sake of getting dailies.

I think there was a post somewhere that said each area would have its own mastery, not just Maguuma. So in PvE you’ll see level caps replaced but they made no mention of WvW being altered as well since they used WvW as an example of their system.

This could mean that leveling up in WvW will remain the same since there’s no mastery to be added other than what’s already in place (ranks). Would be nice to see what fellow allies had rank-wise though instead of seeing only baddy rank titles.

Also, I think they should leave the leveling up launch effect in as it makes a new strategy. Soon all zergs will sit at 99% exp waiting for the first stomp to launch the other zergs. Extra trolliness this way.

Good god… Just reading some of this it already cries out for a nerf. Either they roll out something for necro specialization to deal with all of this or they just doomed the necro class altogther with this hard counter.

Also wondering if I AOE 5 of them with conditions and they all pop legendary and resistance, would I then get all stacks x5 on me? This would instantly break any sort of zerging or bombing. Instantly.

In the next revenant information update they’ll reveal that they come with capes too.

The main focus of this guild will be havoc in WvW during late SEA/early EU. If you’re experienced in WvW it would be far more helpful as we’ll be running multiple small groups on maps (once we acquire enough members) and not running zerg blobs.

Players who main with thieves and rangers are strongly encouraged to apply. Bonus points if your armor is black and have wings.

Requirements:
- Must be on Yak’s Bend.
- General knowledge of WvW flow.
- Be persistent and not have a fairweather attitude.

Guild representing is not 100% required, but it is of course encouraged during havoc. More importantly- just get out there, fight, loot and have fun!

Wow, this was going on all weekend? I guess some people have relationships and others have poopsocks to cuddle. lol

They’re not going to destack from T2 since most of them are paid for and will be seen as scammers if they left now. You’d have to continually beat them into submission until people sneak off to a new server face to hide behind.

Chaba has already said it before, nobody cares about balance. All that matters is throwing bigger blobs to suppress all other tiers/servers.

Also keep in mind GW2 does not support moving platforms, so your images of people standing on a deck of a moving airship ain’t gonna happen without a major overhaul to the game engine.

If you care about WvW, and you want a balanced matchup/don’t want to play in a wasteland, transfer to t1/2. Its the best player solution.

Do you honestly think destacking will work? People like to play on populated maps and even t1 isn’t populated enough for my tastes. Not to mention the quality of players is generally better, the higher tier you are. I’d much rather have my “stale” t1 balanced matchup facing competent people whenever I want over facing each random server’s random style of suck in only certain timezones.

Huuuehuehue… It’s that mentality that created the problem we see now. I don’t know whether this is a troll post or if I should be horribly sad that people buy into this logic.

@Op: You missed one of the better suggestions, using a floating player cap instead of a hard cap. Put the hard cap at something like 20-30 players per side per map and only raise it when the other servers reach the cap.

This wouldn’t be the end all solution, they would still need to add things like better rewards, changing the scoring system, etc., but it would be a good start. At the very least it could be something they test out in one of their “events”.

Thought this idea was already debunked.

When servers reach that second or third soft cap and one server captures tons of objectives before quickly logging off, wouldn’t it force other servers to boot players or reset the soft cap when the try to log in? Then the server that capped can stay ahead while fighting a lower number of enemies until the match is over.
