Uhg. Again. You guys just lump in and use static numbers to make up invalid arguments. The distribution of pips is NOT solely based off what rank you are. Pips are acquired through a combination of factors as I have previously pointed out and often fluctuate with everyone. The argument “we’ll never catch up to them” is an illusion based off the assumption that every vet qualifies for every bonus all of the time and that noobs don’t qualify for anything all of the time.

Different ways pips are currently distributed:

-Your world’s position during the skirmish (first, second, or third).
-Your WvW rank.
-Whether you’re commanding a squad with at least five people in it.
-Whether you’re fighting while outnumbered.
-If you’ve been playing on the same world for three weeks.

The ONLY one to argue is rank that gives maybe 1-3 extra pips, and even then it’s possible the vets you’re yelling at are only receiving +1 because they aren’t high enough. So again, using the various combinations of pip acquisition you could be earning more than a vet on another server regardless of how new you are.

Those small rank bonus pips are basically paying a professional to get the job done despite PvE build rally bots. And guess what? Those extra pips you’re getting from server position during a skirmish… are very likely because of vets putting in the effort to make your server competitive.

Umm… what? While it’s true that high ranks get bonus pips, there are other ways to receive bonus pips that don’t include rank.

I could be playing on a high ranked account to get +3 pips and get +1 for server placement during the tick for a total of +4 pips. A complete WvW noob could walk in and get +5 just for being outmanned, or more if he’s on a server that typically places higher with scores. It’s entirely possible that a noob can earn more just because of time/map/server.

As for the commander bonus, I’d like to see a PvEr tag up and flip a T3 garrison. You know, because we all do the same amount of work.

Unfortunately the 2v1 is usually against the weaker server in order for easy PPT. Rarely does the strongest server get focused, as we currently see in both T1 and T2. Oh well.

Who would want to rise to T1 the way things are?

I don’t see BG guilds leaving any time soon while the wins are so effortless. It’s a melting pot of PPTers and ktrainers from all over the game.

We all knew the reality of the situation a long time ago. I can only hope that the devs now regret their decision and see that their calculations are not working. It’s fine if you make a mistake but at least LEARN from it.

Staying in a higher tier requires staying competitive, a lot more so then in lower tiers because the need for coverage and population is greatly increased. Every server has the same issues trying to fill coverage gaps, trying to replace players that leave, stop playing, etc. There is just a constant need to take care of these issues in higher tiers. The last thing wvw needs is more burnout and less people playing, regardless of what tier or server. Nobody is forced to come up here, those that do have their own reasons usually because they want a more active competitive environment, but again it requires constant work in order to maintain that level of competitiveness.

Let me translate:

We, the number 1 server, don’t like that we have to put in effort to remain #1. Every other server has less coverage than us and suffers more than us but why should they get help by being open and not us? There is a constant need to maintain our bloated population and who cares about other servers who also have to take care of their smaller populations. The last thing wvw needs is for BG guilds to be forced to leave so that we can recruit more when we should be able to keep getting more and more people from other lower population servers. It’s good for wvw overall if lower population servers keep losing people because they want to come to BG and be in a “competitive environment” where they win every matchup without even trying.

First, try actually reading the post before replying with ridiculous nonsense. Clearly you are already biased against tier 1 and BG and saw another opportunity to trash the server, ok that’s fine. Now let me explain a few things to you…

-We cannot force anyone to come here, full or open, you understand that right?
-We cannot force anyone to stay here, you understand that right?
-We cannot control what another player does, you understand that right?
-Players are able to transfer to open servers, which include the ones we are matched against, and can also include YOUR server, you understand that right?

It’s almost as if we are just normal human beings playing the same game as you, hmmm who would have thought?

It’s true that nobody can be forced to bandwagon, but what you don’t understand is after losing to a stacked server players are ready to hop on for easy wins, especially when their transfer is getting paid for. Easy mode vs fighting a blob. You understand that, right?

Anyone complaining about why their server is locked, especially BG players, definitely need perspective in this game. They’ve somehow obtained a delusional reality of the situation like a spoiled child being brought up in a rich family. Not everyone has what you take for granted. Other servers have to actually try. Even now BG is winning yet another match up against paired servers, which is the sort of percentage imbalance the devs pointed out as difficult to balance with the current servers.

Anyone wanting to open/bandwagon onto a stacked server don’t care about anything other than PPT and easy wins. Nobody buys any other excuse so don’t bother. Shame on you for gaming the system for as long as you have and killing the game with such an awful approach.

If all matches were evened out and you won, it would be a solid victory with skill. Instead you chose the imbalanced blobgate or stackedquarry route. You have no right to complain.

Why would you want to run 70+ on off NA hours while on NA servers? Not for decent fights. We wonder why coverage is so hard to balance?

Cuz you know some of us wanna experience blob fights and we can’t play NA prime?

It was so fun when Mag had a map queue (MGR) vs our map queue (Seph) but now it’s a deadzone with what 20 people on the map on all 3 sides? How is that fun? I mean you guys in NA prime have your fun big fights but the rest of us have nothing to do now but yeah it’s “balanced”.

We could have a nice mix of fights sizes depending on the hour…even small scale havoc/roaming in the late hours. Instead we have servers begging for more so they can stack up NA along with the balance issues they are creating when NA time zones are sleeping.

No we can’t. There isn’t enough off hour population to support anything of the sort. Even JQ doesn’t queue more than 1 map populated regularly “off hours” and sometimes there’s no queue. You don’t understand, there is little to nothing left in OCX/SEA which is why all of them should be in 1 tier tbh. That way you get blobs, roaming, havoc, small fights etc which NA can currently enjoy while other timezones cannot due to this perceived notion that servers must be ‘balanced’.

T1 right now is deader than the old 2014 T4 CD/SoS/SBI but it’s all LALALALA STACKED SERVERS DIE PLZ WEEEEW.

I guess you just want BG/JQ/TC etc all to be dead except for the 2 hours of NA prime they play.

At least the folks on Maguuma tried to get off hours there so there’d be fights all day round.

I think the fact that yall exploited ANet’s population counter system to keep your servers over stack. Nah for punishment for the three of yalls servers mostly aimed at BG and JQ for bringing the community to this point. I feel no sympathy if ANet causes yall to just die. Yall did nothing but brought other guilds and coordinated hibernation periods in order to trick the old ANets population system into believing yall was not full when yall was. Then after the population evaluation periods was over, all of a suddenly yall two servers woke up everytime like it was clockwork to stomp the other servers who didn’t catch on to what yall was doing.

Yall used so many exploits and dumb cheesy tactics to keep you server OVERSTACKED so no one else could compete with yall. And you have the nerve to call us selfish?

LMFAO just hurry up and die. I really do hope ANet just completely shuts down your cheating exploiting servers that was one of the biggest causes to the exodus of many of the actually competitive fight guilds and players GW2’s WvW used to have before they got fed up with always having to fight exploiters and cheaters the manipulate the population counting system to over stack their servers beyond comprehension. That then proceeded to use their overs tacked population to grief others to the point they stop playing WvW or completely left the game.

Just be lucky I’m not in charge of ANet cause if I was I’d throw out a blanket ban for all members of the guilds that was guilty of match manipulation. That ruined other players WvW experience to the point they no longer play.

Does anyone remember the complete destruction of FA and SoS during YB’s T1 push where T2 was walled off from the top and bottom, preventing any escape?

Does anyone recall T3 before that where they were decimated for about a YEAR until they finally had a server switch? T4 actually avoided rolling T3.

Do you guys actually enjoy having one server obliterate two others for months on end before they “earn the right” to move up?

Do you guys actually believe that THIS will be the beginning of server stacking?

The #4 team gains a larger amount of glicko from the #1 team. In order for the #1 team to gain anything they’re expected to win by a certain amount, but that clearly isn’t happening. Adjustments aside, #1 is currently losing to #4.

This. IMO people don’t fight nowadays not because of the PPK, but either because they’re bad or they’re afraid of dying in a game mode where YOU WILL DIE ALL THE TIME. It just gets ridiculous.

When JQ faced YB the previous match they clearly went out of their way to avoid fights so JQ wouldn’t build up a big score from PPK in the skirmish. It was crystal clear what they were doing.

I’m fairly certain that JQ wasn’t even considered a threat.

Besides, we waited at your spawn and people eventually stopped coming out to fight.

surprised to see JQ so low on PPT.
They even have more total kills than YB. At what timezone do they gain that many kills? It has to be NA right?

Combination of EU and NA. YB’s pugs are pretty weak, and when they aren’t humping siege all the time, they’re easily wiped. They had the gall to try to spawn camp us too, but were easily pushed back into the keep. They had 8 trebs, 12 arrow carts, and 6 catas in there…half of which were on inner. A reminder of what a PPT only server looks like.

We’re all hoping YB gets sent up to T1 along with Mag and we get to fight TC for a week, it’d probably be a better match in general, and far less boring.

I was one of the few camping JQ spawn (for hours as we upgraded LL to T3). The only time we were “pushed back” was when the abundance of spawn stomps left me laughing uncontrollably as the rest of the brokenhearted JQs gave a feeble chase to avenge their fallen. lmao! Good times.

Lol, less of that annoying terrain. Yeah who wants to think tactically and use awareness of their surroundings when we can fight on flat boring surfaces.

I’d love it if the arena was bigger and you could add terrain, different elevations and thin walls to LoS behind. Right now it’s boring and the few features you can put in are very big pullers.

Since the new pairing system’s purpose is to promote “good matches”, there should be no argument here, right?

Obviously, the old ladder-style system is not compatible with this new philosophy and we as players need to understand that we gain NOTHING for winning a match apart from two more lootbags (or four if we get the double-reset bug).

The problem is YB stole FA’s spot and now FA is upset.

This shouldn’t be something to cry over. With the manual tinkering of populations with server linking or the open/full statuses etc, why throw a tantrum over another aspect they can use to adjust servers? And if a match blowout occurred in the past with another server why would you defend it and demand more servers repeatedly kill other servers for similar extended periods of time? “Well, the matchup back then was killing wvw but since they went through it in the past you guys have to kill wvw, too!” What kind of illogical nonsense is this? And look at the current scores!

“They killed me before so I don’t like them now” has been the drive for a lot of the fights though. Typically you see players hide/run from fights but if you stomp them and sit on their corpse it spurs a need for vengeance. They’ll be driven to chase and fight you more often.. and hopefully still lose.

I started and leveled up my scribe to 379 last weekend. Bad news: you still need the basics as you craft higher stuff. Unless it’s wvw schematics like emergency waypoints.

But that’s kinda off topic. I just started this for more fun ideas for decorations and fixing what is already available.

It’s very confusing making decorations. You need A to craft B to craft C to craft D, it’s a figurative Russian nesting dolls approach.

I would like to see some decorations coming out of wvw and spvp. Many world bosses drop decoration items, but I get nothing defending my keep from the hordes for 3 hours. Other than the smug sense of satisfaction that they failed.

I agree the scribe crafting process is completely bogged down and doesn’t necessarily make sense when crafting upgraded versions.

Maybe add seige models to guild halls? Lol At least it would add to the war room feel. I do think wvw players should have drops as well but I can’t think of any other decorations to use from wvw.

Spvp I’m just as lost. It’s not like they’ll let you craft a clock tower or something so massive related to pvp.

Oh, and just a thought, but there could be trophies in reward tracks for wvw and spvp so then people like myself who have been running world boss trains and harvesting like crazy with no trophy drops can at least get one.

I’m not sure exactly where the best place for this thread would be, but hopefully it reaches its intended audience of decorating enthusiasts (and the eyes of Anet?). This is basically a wishlist of decorations to be added/updated for the guild halls. Others can add in their own ideas of course!

For starters, I feel the current decorations are not properly sized/priced. It takes quite a bit of gold to craft the higher end items and when you place, for example, a plush sofa that looks like it can only seat a little Asura you feel disappointed. The same goes for guild banquet tables, wintersday tree, armor stand, and more. I feel like the size should be doubled in a lot of cases.

If possible, I would also like to see the flags placed blow in the wind instead of slink down into a frozen state.

As for new decorations to blow my money on I’d like to see:

-Wintersday gifts (good for member’s birthdays, too)
-Snow castles (that awesome model in Devinity’s Reach!)
-Snowmen
-Creepy, full grown leafless trees
-Carpets
-Beds
-Staircases
-Slabs of vertical/horizontal walls/floors (I know there’s a gold wall already but it seems only fitting for Guilded Hallows. If a wall and a floor/ceiling were available for each guild hall theme, guilds could build their own buildings and spruce up the already provided ruins!)
-Treasure chests
-Gold piles
-Firework launchers (like in sanctum sprint?)
-Spotlights (even if placed in a static downward position it would be cool to have for guild hall events or shine on trophies)
-Iron fence (good for graveyards lol)
-Crypt
-Coffins

New guild upgrade: Scavenger

I won’t even bother to itemize your reply as you’ve already taken this personally.

It’s a poor choice in general to bypass wvw mechanics and strategy in favor of having everyone hide in a keep with seige and a basically unlimited supply to keep repairing.

Your idea brings back memories of when a scaled supply drop in SMC would almost certainly guarantee whoever has it will hold it for the duration of the match. It was broken and annoyed many. I see this idea heading down the same way, only worse as there’s no limit to supply gain and would promote others to ninja a keep instead of fighting for it.

And if you’re looking at this from a “fight guild” perspective your contribution is just that- fighting to defend. We don’t need more broken upgrades to justify why you didn’t take 2 min to flip a camp.

If this is to be considered it would have to be a smaller amount of supply for each death. All you would have to do is kill 5 people for 25 supply and keep patching up the breach. In a keep fight it’s not difficult to lose more than 5 people in a blob… This would make it nearly impossible to flip a defended keep. Even if it was nerfed to 2 supply per death anywhere within the keep aura seems harsh.

It’s so unbalanced it is ridiculous. FSP getting not one but two links, and GH getting one that has up til now been used as a cheap t1 bandwagon option. It’s like no actual humans even looked at it before committing.

No one knows the long term goal / vision. Many suspect this though.

It certainly looks that way now that they opened up a new tier with YB losing 100+ glicko to servers that literally started with 0. YB will be playing Farmville in T5 for a while now thanks to the introduction of new hosts without starting glicko. Great match up against fish in a barrel. …lol!

I expect YB bandwagoners to follow soon with the imminent deaths of the new hosts.

you looked at mosmillenium – it is wrong the other hosts did not start with 0. There are better sites, YB is gaining glicko. And there is no T5……

I don’t want to be “that” guy, but I am suspicious of how successful the OP seems to have been during a little over 2 hours of play.

They stated if you got something like a precursor to contact customer service…beyond that, not sure what else they will “help” with.

Dear Anet,
I lost five precursors. Please give. Unfortunately I have no evidence whatsoever so you’ll have to take my word for it. I believe they were the top five most expensive. Thanks!

My only beef with Bloodstone Fen is when I’m gliding around and some white mantle is aggro from across the map and uses a homing knockdown ability that hits regardless if I’m using stealth. Annoying.

(Sometimes I don’t even see where this attack even came from- like it’s THAT far away or around corners?)

And I think WvW is slowing down because the old crowd has gotten tired of doing the same thing after 4 years. It’s essentially running the same circle every day. Adding a reward track for running circles doesn’t revitalize it. I know everyone wanted it, but it’s not a fix for the monotony. And adding new maps is risky if they turn out to be poor.

I wish ANet had a contest or something of sorts where players actually drew out and submitted a map concept for them to design and work with. Rather than gambling a surprise map that’s going to be a hit or miss.

We Need 2 Server Match Up, Not 3

The whole point of 3-way fight is that you get the two losing teams ganging up on the winning team. When the top team gets beaten down, the balance and focus shifts against the next winning team. This actually makes the matchups balanced and bustling with activity.

Unfortunately this does not happen in GW2 WvW. The problem is that there is no reward for winning a matchup – nothing to fight for. The only thing the teams can fight for is better Glicko rating, and the system can reward not only the winner but also the second and sometimes even the third team in the matchup. The two strongest teams often gang up against the weakest in order to secure easy points which results in lopsided matchups.

Or they 2v1 because of seething hatred from what somebody on a server did some years ago. Lol

I would like to see servers 1v1. At the very least it would put an end to any teaming complaints and provide solid results not skewed by a third party focusing. Alas, ANet probably doesn’t have the time/resources to blow up wvw and create newer, smaller maps for 1v1. Plus it would be hard to counter servers that cap off hours; even more so than the garbage we see today, I mean. I’d still like to see it.

This may come as a shock but not every guild is willing to pull out their cards to transfer everyone around; especially if said members have friends on multiple servers and they cannot choose between them all.

The fact they’ve coined terminology like “hibergate” suggests they need an excuse for losing, as if no other server deals with the same issues. There are just as many tryhards on BG, but when it’s a fairly even match and they lose, we’re all expecting to see that magical word pop up that negates their loss.

The term was coined by a player on JQ.

And I don’t go there nowadays as I can’t smack talk to full potential after vacation and traveling, seeing as how I’ve logged in about four times total since beta linking began. I don’t know who is where anymore and don’t care enough to find out. Too many anon accounts echoing in there anyway. At this point I’m reading for signs that gw2 has a future.

Balance threads like this make me lol.
