CM has been really bad for a long time so now that it’s easier people need to get used to the dungeon again. I just wish more people didn’t skip that much, I wanna loot lots of linen. The packs melt anyway so why skip it.

oh so many groups cant melt them. Oh so many. I once watched the lone melee guy at the second table you blow up in cm p1 destroy a whole team of 80’s. I was asked why I didnt help out. Before I left I said “Im not sure you can be helped”

I regret that now as I realise so many people simply dont know better or as I found out in a run last night where our thief rage quit. Simply dont speak the language we do. I spent like 2 hours walking a fellow ele through cm p1. he didnt speak english and we took that for granted in our haste. I hope I he remembers it well and I hope next time instead of being so quite he will do as I rec and simply say. “I dont speak english well. can you tell me what to do?” well in his broken english. I forget my point. Time to head to bed…

More ontopic- i turned on supersampling yesterday and it only dropped my fps to around 50-60 . I must say I was quite pleased at that discovery.

TA- 80guard pretty much every weapon was legendary. What does he use? Sure for running but his damage uptime was horrible. he had to run away numerous times from a fight because he ran out of blocks. I mention s/f that he could stay in the battle longer and get flamed. Mention that was only a suggestion. tells me i should be running s/f as an ele. I mention there are give or take 8 meta builds for the ele and I can run them all. and all of them can stack more longer lasting might+fury than he can without gimping self with the a generally useless weapon..

I kind of didn’t want to say it but…well, I certainly didn’t help things a few days ago but yah…theres a group that seems to want to farm as much gold as fast as possible over enjoying the game and making friends. I would happily add 2 weeks to my legendary farming if it got me good friends.

Im pretty sure people have suggested when staffs should be used. Even suggested that If you “must” carry one to not use it as a primary damage dealing weapon.

I love CM. Unfortunately I can only depend on the Thieves to know what to do.
If Im on my ele no one picks up fgs/ib or they run out of Swirling Winds Or if I have a guardian in the group and go staff he doesnt use blinds/reflects

If im on my guard they run to the other side of the wall of reflection or simply do no damage. Ele doesnt drop fgs/ib.

Just did a run with 3 lvl 80’s who have never done it. Not that it mattered I told em what to do but still. “CM path 1 experience only pls” They are experienced now or rather they have a general idea of what to do when there is a guardian making sure they wont die.

I usually pay the thieves for soloing the first part. I one started a run and this necro yells something to the effect “yo thief go do your job” I would have kicked him if I thought I would have gotten a second yes vote. Needless to say he went minion master and got himself killed EVERY time we needed to run.

You are telling them to play how you want. What’s so wrong in letting others play how they want? I surely don’t tell you how to play, nor should I tell you how to. If you ask for suggestions, yes I can give some. But I am in no place to dictate the “proper way” to play GW2, because such a thing doesn’t really exist (the meta is not the “right” way to play GW2, but just one of the more efficient/fastest ways to do so.)

Not every player has the same goals you do, and that doesn’t make them automatically “bad”. You should bear that in mind. Not every player that runs “bad gear” does so because he loves “gimping himself/herself” or is being “selfish”-sometimes it’s just what he/she likes and does well with (I kid you not… not every player must follow the meta.)

I said nothing about meta/fastest/ why do you people keep bringing that up. I said should use a different skill/build/whatever for any encounter for its strengths

If healing/peeing/swimming/dancing/w.e is best option I rec it. I said nothing of bad gear.

I have a simple scenario and this whole talk with me will be done.

Person enters dungeon naked. Would you not say “hey umm put on some clothes ?” and if that person said no you would happily keep doing the dungeon with said person because play how you like?

Why that scenario? I have encountered it numerous times.

I slave away learning encounters, watching videos, learning skills, DOING MATH!!!, just so when I join a party I can do my very best for said group and youre saying F that yolo and you should like it.

as for the group shouldnt be more important than individual choices “Dungeons are optional party-based PvE instances, each with their own story… an explorable mode, a more difficult mode which requires more co-ordination to play through and is unlocked after completing story mode”

Surely. I never belittle at all. It’s not needed. You play how you want, let others play how they want. I don’t kick others for doing things differently-the only way it’s justified is when the person signed up for one thing and ended up doing another just to annoy (if you take for granted that “no one should use healing rain” but it was never stated anywhere, then yes you are being a jerk for kicking him/her-what if he/she activated water by mistake and just went ahead and used the skill?)

The group’s needs don’t undermine individual choice. No reason both can’t coexist in a healthy balance. Everybody has something to contribute in a group-though I would say if someone likes healing power, he/she shouldn’t group with players that only care for the fastest speedrun, nor complain about it.

You’re also not Star Ace, therefore your reactions are completely irrelevant to what S/he would or would not do, nor the likelihood of those reactions.

I also would never belittle someone for running a healing build. Who am I to comment on someone else’s build? I will belittle someone for not running the encounter correctly, and not being able to deal with the mechanics, but not for what their build is.

This doesn’t change the fact that I understand DPS is king, I just don’t care and refuse to regiment myself or anyone else to that fact. I’m not worried about speed, only success.

e.g I belittled a guardian last night for this. Lvl 80 6kap not that means anything. Running a few lowbies through Sorrows embrace story mode.

After watching the lowbies getting slaughtered by projectiles I asked his build and he pinged “smite condition, save yourselves, and judges intervention”

I cant understand how you two would just idly stand by and let said guardian think he is doing ANYTHING useful for the party. Much less himself as he typically died after said lowbies died.

Or rather youre also saying that in a party that is competant/ i.e know when to dodge/invuln/ you would say NOTHING that water camping staff ele.

Again I find the use of the absolute never followed with “at all” and even play how they want to be quite mind boggling.

I mean that means you never recommended someone to use something that would be more beneficial that what they already had in any situation. EVER.

See now that is another reason I can accept. If someone said that during a run I would say " Oh.. Well continue then."

ok to the ppl who keep posting with I am confuse about my issue with healing.

As I keep saying in gw2 you can go as any build on dungeon run and do good , which is pure dps or condition or a buffer but if you try to be a single healer build class on 5 man dungeon is completely useless.

As a single healer build in 5 man group your OUT GOING heals do almost nothing to the group and not just that but your dps is also gimpy making you dead weight to the group

As I explain before I DO NOT run 5 man zerk run, do not like it , I find it boring , love puging with random ppl and there a lot of ppl out who don’t know how to play there class or don’t know much about the dungeon it self b/c of this I like to build a class that helps other to perform better and this can be done.

I have made a build with my guardian that helps any random group with worst dps to become either decent dps or great dps . This is a might stacker support build.

Now I have try other route of game play where instead of helping player to increase there dps I wanted to help them to stay alive and this where the problem hits, It cant be done.

Im not sure worst dps can be made into decent or great dps. also warrior/ele.

by helping them stay alive you are feeding a crutch. they need to learn how to protect themselves unless you will protect them in every group till they stop playing.

Jesus people, I don’t pretend to be the greatest poster in the world, but stop the blind attacks. Yes I get frustrated easily, that doesn’t mean I don’t care.

1) I dont think that boss is ‘the hardest boss in the world’ I just had no idea what to do against him, and the only advice the guy who knew what he was doing had, was to skip and not fight him. And yes, in restrospect we got a bad team with an inexperienced leader and an elitist veteran, given our veteran decided not to tell us the one-shot kills only really work with beserker gear.
2) Stop bashing other weapons. Every weapon has it’s purpose. yes, in many spots the greatsword was useless due to it’s low close range damage, but in some situations(like hitting burrows cross room) its damage output was greater. Yes, I’m aware the greatsword isn’t as efficient or reliable, but I won’t change my entire fightingstyle for a character like that, personal rule of mine.

1. He oneshots with most gear. IIRC. there was a time when I ran knights. He gave no qualms about laughing at my pitiful attempts to “tank” his damage.
2.Versatility. You just said you have none. You just said if a weapon helps the group out you wont change. That is quite horrible.

I NEVER enter any dungeon without 1 of each major weapon. on ele that means I have 5daggers, 2 focuses, 3 staves, 2 of the other offhand things i cant remember.
Guardian- 3 greatswords 2 swords 3 focuses, 2 ooticr,

Heck I am even that way with armor. Your inflexibility Id work on it.

Also- greatswords purpose is to push mobs out of melee range of your melee party members. aka being a kitten
