In reality nothing has changed when it comes to skinning your armor. Most the time you didnt use the transmutation stones because the skin you wanted was a level 80 skin or the armor you wanted was a level 80 armor both of which wouldn’t work with the transmutation stones. So you saved them up or got some crystals and waited till 80 anyway.

There are still a few free charge skins, the skins you get from your achievements are a free charge skin

DonQuack, take your character that has the quaggan hat to the TP in DR or Rata Sum (or any major city) and speak to the black lion armourer. They will exchange with you the quaggan hat you have, for a quaggan hat skin which is free. This skin then permanently unlocks the quaggan hat skin in the warddrobe AND works as a free skin-over for any head armour piece you have. So you can now wear the quaggan hat in combat.

As far as I am aware, the clothes that have been turned into tonics were unable to be turned into skins to go over armour due to character/profession mesh issues (this is deep core stuff, and cannot be hot-fixed). So that’s just how it is. You can either sell the tonics or ask for a refund via creating a support ticket, I believe.

My headgear is fine as it is. I paid 5g + to wear it and show it off. I now have to BUY another piece of armour and ANNNND make sure to have the space for it AANNNNDD use a transmute charge just to wear it.

Before this I had the hat for X levels. I could take it off and send it to any of my chars EZPZ for FREE. No more work than

Well that would simply not be true. From the game’s release up to the Nightfall campaign, I’ve always shared pugs with elementalists who would mostly be an elementalist. An Ele/Me for example would usually just use echo to be able to cast an extra meteorshower or something similar. Then we got the Obsy-tank, and other metas. But they would still be at their core an elementalist first, and their secondary profession second. UW, FOW, DOA and Slavers Exile teams were full of pure elementalists.

I remember being new. I remember how much plat it cost me. Those dungeons werent forgiving as gw2. Lets not forget wipe = get out scrub and reorganize. + it was usually very clear who was crap Ah I miss it.

Also come on.. after a few times you were sick of it. you knew where everything was, what it did. There is no way to combat that except changing the whole thing every few X.

Also youre biased. It isnt better you just prefer it, probably because you have X years experience in it. GW2 has defined roles that make people rely on each other.

On the variations of dungeons. In GW1 they had these huge multi path dungeons that required organized groups to effectively clear. Emphasis on effectively. After a very short time of these areas the best builds and paths ways to run these became well known. A skillbar ping required on joining. Failed basic duty = kick. Suck too much and get kicked out of guild if it was a pve speed clear guild. The different paths were an illusion, it was all about running the same path order, pulling the same mobs, balling up the entire instance in one spike ball and clearing content in minutes that takes unorganized groups hours (or not at all). The dungeons in this game are easy by comparison.

Totally. Lets not forget the entry fee, fee for con sets too, heck and the money to even get IN there. Goodluck being an ele if you dont take 2 specific builds and you better link em.

Yup I hit 30 and only did AC hmm cant say ac? ascalonian catacombs until I was 40. Now im going to only CM until Im 50 so on and so forth.

1st engi too and my only char that is going to be pure zerker. I love being 35 and tanking more (possibly doing more damage) than lvl 80s. Its shameful.

I did them last night with said group of 30-40 who didnt know how to spend trait points. I would stand by what I said.

Gatekeeper usually spawns with 1 add which ive watched melt down low level players easily. whilst gatekeeper keeps em kd’d. Heaven help the group if it is a necro that poison really negates your heals.

you see you are still assuming people have the basic intelligence to kite or to recognize a long hammer swing or to run away and heal when low instead of stopping infront of the boss.

You won’t. The bouncing attack can bounce from other players to you (even if you’re out of the troll’s LoS – or even if you’re cloaked), and the shockwave frequently goes through and pillars. Might be deliberate, might be a bug, but the fact is it happens a lot.

thats why you space out. frequently goes through walls? There is only 1 wall it went through for me once and that may have been lag. I run ac enough daily to encounter him once or twice. None* of the walls I hide behind does it go through…

Perhaps bug report the walls that it goes through. maybe we fight him in diff areas.

The troll is easy!! Comparable to other ac story mode bosses? You mean explorable? Possibly the easiest comparatively. Its not a you suck its a you and your group had no cohesion. If your group has none EVERYTHING will be hard.

Extremely easy? maybe maybe. If there was a 2-3 guardians and they had shield of absorption out then FK yes! or mesmers with reflection or whatever it is…

Personally I think they should put kholer as the story mode LT. in the middle. I coulda sworn he was there at launch. He taught you how to dodge. School of hard knocks style.

There is a diff between easy and mind-numbingly easy. New to mmo’s and computer games apparently means having a utter lack reasoning, strategic, reading, and reading comprehension.

Eitherway the troll can be countered by Observing, thinking, communicating. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0 wsad that is secondary.

Youre imagining a fairy tail mmo, where grinders/exploiters arent in the dungeons.

Im in it for fun even though im grinding it. Thats why I pug. I love the group dynamic. Playing with the noobs, playing with experienced, playing with guy who doesnt read chat, the afker. all in one group.

It makes me a better player. I can play with anyone. Heck I played with a guild that (somehow was a guild) but they were 30-40 and never spent any trait points. I bought them 15slotters and showed em the Heroes waypoint.

It puts off people who have no flexibility. Like I dont know. Chars that insist on meleeing him after getting downed 3 times in a row. (watched more than a few 80 thiefs/warriors do that)

The Fear can be evaded if you learn the animation (He faces you with two hands and crouches down a little). Both the lightning projectile and the Stomp’s shockwaves in the ground are treated as projectiles and can be reflected or absorbed.

You know how many guardians dont try that skill? I die so much on my guard because I simply use it to see if I can reflect everything.

You know what I @lvl 32 engi who ran circles around a pillar and mostly killed the troll think when I make a mistake and die and I watch a team not utilise the pillars to block los. Not space out when I say to or the lightning will bounce off each other.

Heck how they didnt notice that within seconds of him using it I dont know.

I recall a dev in beta saying in a video how they had a group that wiped like crazy. They had to stop and synch then they were able to beat the dungeon.

People cant do that they dont read what their skills do. just 1,2,3,4,5,7,8,9,0 6 when need healz. Moving optional.

Id agree with what people have been saying. The problem isnt the dungeon diff its that 1-30 open world is so mindnumbingly easy.

ac is perfectly doable with lvl 35 characters.

Get 5 new players, make them all play mesmer (or any class, really, just make sure they don’t have elementalist conjured weapons). Let them play the game until their characters reach level 35. Put them into AC explorable and tell them to do path 1 or 3, with no exploits.

Then come back here and post the results.

The issue isn’t challenge (Kholer, for example, is a challenging fight). The issue is that several encounters in AC (especially in paths 1 and 3) rely on character stats (specifically, DPS), and not on player skill or teamwork.

I wonder what people did at launch… Had a guy in CM @ lvl 40 who wanted to stack and have my new guildmate not learn how to dodge. No sir. In the end they stacked because dying = bad not dying = maybe I should change something. I ran around dying and being overall badace dropping bombs and making it look fun whilst having fun.

Heck I learned that the engi had a reflective wall elixer R I think. No one changed anything. Got to the dogs and the guy who did it 4 times in 1 hour didnt have stability.

I waited till the group wiped about 4 times before I said perhaps we should consider using something that has stability? An engi providing stability for 4 people isnt best.

Or when I told the ele to keep changing her weapons depending on the area we were said I should make up my mind.

soooo how do you know it was the leader who kicked you if nothing was said? Heck 3/4 of the time I “lead” as in start a group, a random player enters the instance and is the true “leader”. Heck I tried kicking a guy earlier today and some random asked me for my reasonings. I said " I made this group, I am God. Don’t agree leave and start your own" In the end I left them. 25 mins later I saw the guy I wanted to kick running around and the group posted in lfg. I chuckled. I guess I should have said he is an afk/non-chat reading- agrroeverything- dance on your corpse troll but I am a not a kind God.

I will also kick to make room for guildies/friends/people who know what they are doing/ people who offer to dance naked/ low levels/ and people who engage in conversation. if any of the above ask to kick someone I will do so without hesitation I will kick for not answering questions, non compliance, disrupting group cohesion, wearing colours I dont like, and feeling like it.

Actually as I think more about it, Im reasonably sure, you had to enter your key. I have bought accounts for friends and had to give them the key so they could register an account.

1. Keyboard turners. You see the circle pop up and you see them turn slowly, then attempt to run away. I cry inside.

2. Dodging. Not the 1st time, but the 20th time. Sometimes youre like “come on!”

3. Lvl 80’s who die faster than I did at lvl 30.

4. Thief’s who cant figure out why they are dying.

5. D/D Ele’s who refuse to adapt even though they spend more time on their back than Madonna.

6. Being the guardian with an AH build and finally getting a team that utilises their ranged advantage.

7. Ele’s that dont have arcane shield, mist form, or armour of earth.

8. People who just go into the dungeon without any thought of preparation.

10. That realisation that the 5th member is absolutely useless and you are effectively 4 manning the dungeon and the 5th is trying, he is cool, but unfortunately he is absolute trash.

As a person who has been building for this build since lvl 0 I must thank you. This indepth guide assists me in ways I hadnt thought of. Im currently 70 and am finally able to trait my empowering might. It may be a while before the build is truly realised, but I am on my way.

I dont know about some of you guys, I plan to play this game as long as or longer than I played the original.
