Honestly also I learned quite a bit just by watching people do things and emulating. One doesnt need to actually speak to you to learn common speed clear techniques. Just keep your eyes open and do what others do.

Joined random se run that had 2 guardians in it thinking “CAKEWALK TIME” now they admitted inexperience but I told em what to do with some wiggle room so they could learn things.

Then the ranger joined.

As we proceeded to kitten train the golems the ranger would go max range and then rage at us for him dying. Unfortunately my 2 guardian wards kept trying to go and rez him thus killing themselves. This happened 3-4 times then one of the guardians said “Why the kitten are you always in the middle of nowhere and not with us? We only die because we try to keep you alive.” I sent guardian 5g and got the gold and this little gem back

There was some more back and forth where the ranger asked us " omfg how old are you guys?" and got a bunch of late 20’s as answers but generally he kept quiet.

I cant help but feel as if I didnt try to help the ranger enough.

Honestly, I don’t see how one or two new/low level players could be much of a weight to the party as in DPS and survivability. Yes, it is slower, but in fact, I’d pick a friendly, new to the dungeon player over an experienced guy who just rushes forward and abandons the party at the first wipe, any day.

I don’t care about your gear and build as long as you listen if you’re new or you follow the party if you’ve been in the dungeon before.

One or two? weight? I would say it depends on the group make up. If it CM and they are the reflects classes mesmer/guard //// or condition removal mesmer/guard then survivability can be greatly impacted. I find “carrying” people is easier when I (the more experienced person) is playing a prof that can control the battle.

Also I think you do care. I mean youve never said something akin to " Hey can you slot wall of reflection/feedback/banner of X/ pls? It would help us out greatly?" Though ofcourse you may be one of those baller types. Im a “scrub” so I cant solo much myself and people can actively screw me over.

Are you that guy from the CM run that told me to ease up on the “attitude” because I called out a few people? I wasnt complaining about damage as I solo’d 3 mobs whilst “the other 4 were slaughtered by 1 mob” I was complaining about the synergy :P especially when I am consistently last one alive who has to suicide so others can respawn.

Interesting reads. I personally “enjoy” pug roulette with groups I join but I usually make my own groups. Unfortunately as of late my temper, has become quite short. Unfortunately I grew up with 12 sisters so it makes itself visible in my passive aggressive comments in chat. I wont kick you but I will let you know what I think of you, kindly.

As for joining groups I wont even join berserker groups as my armour is a mix of Berserker and Sin, thus (atleast in my eyes) negating my eligibility to join groups.

That’s right, the hammer’s DPS is even lower than the staff’s. Mighty Blow is crap damage. It takes forever to execute and barely hits above a mace auto-attack. Symbol of Protection is high damage but the hammer chain is also ludicrously slow, so your average damage is actually extremely low.

Moreover, using the hammer won’t even significantly improve your survivability, because you don’t get enough hits to proc AH heals off crits compared to GS/scepter and your healing is completely halted if you ever stop auto-attacking.

As such, I recommend you only use hammer if you are in a situation where you need protection specifically. Otherwise, for a balanced defensive set, the mace is better. It does more damage, Symbol of Faith gives an near-equivalent number of AH procs over time (7 every 9s vs 8 every 10s), and you don’t have to constantly auto-attack to keep the symbol up so you can use other skills without losing survivability.

I commend the effort you made in writing the guide (and some parts of it are good) but you should really check your numbers first. Numbers are important. So is experience. Your unfounded claims fail in both.

Not way too harsh. Its the reality. “SC pugs” have to do the same thing. Pro-farming groups do the same thing. The only groups that dont have to do that are the ones started by my friend aptly named “yolo p2” but those dont end well :P

Though to be fair when I put no stacking Ive never had a problem with the not stacking part I have a problem with the 3 out of the four that join will be bb rangers and the fourth a ranger.

Funny thing about teaching is that I find most pugs to be wholly unreceptive to any criticism and/or wholly unprepared. I have gotten to the point where I have stopped helping now Im just kicking. The amount of heartache I get for simple suggestions..

OT- I have taken to reciting a prayer before each of my runs. I have yet to have a bad group since…. Coincidence? I think not.

I only get email from arenanet on my email as the only 1out of 2 companies that know it. arenanet and email provider. Much harder to “hack” an email that they dont know of from some outside source.
