Probably problem is lack of players, basically system will try to match you against closest ranked team, and sometimes there is nothing close to your rank.
But as someone suggested here, just play solo. If you have 3 friends and all of you are bad at tpvp, then almost anything will beat you anyways. You have higher chance going solo and maybe other 4 will carry you to win.
tier 1 (too strong) – ele, guardian
tier 2 (need some nerf) – mesmer
Tier 3 (Ok tier) – necro, engi, ranger (I play ranger and nerf to quickness stomp hurts)
Tier 4 (need some love) – thief, I think they got 2 big nerfs, stealth was probably good nerf but quickness was unexpected.
Tier 5 (Warrior) – Warrior… I feel like anet trying to make them stat hoarding chunk of meat… They already have highest hp, highest armor so they buff more of static stats.
I just hope for two things:
- it will be free (no way I’m paying to play, and for sure many other players feel same way).
- custom games should not give any glory or rank points. This should be place for top teams to get some proper training, as well as other players who want to improve. This should also be place for friends to have some fun in more relaxed pvp place. This should not be about farming glory and rank.

There is one point where we simply don’t agree: you say that guardian + necro + engi will beat guardian + ranger + mesmer. I do not believe in this.if your taking a class for the revive then i would pick necro over the mesmer because they dont drop back down after time its a full revive. i am just saying everything else brings more then a mesmer i am not saying dont bring a mesmer just that the 5 clases i scored higher can do what it does but better.
if you think there is some things the mesmer can do better then any of the top 5 let me know so i can check what i tested and then i can tell you how and why the other classes do it better
No I’m not picking mesmer just to revive. You need to look at full picture here. Why would I pick mesmer as top 3:
- portal – gives u flexible moving between 2 nodes created extra player
- time warp – best team ulti
- illusion rev – cheap revive
- great 1v1 ability
- high survivability
- extremely good boon removal
Wow I was surprised about ele still being strongest… honestly after last patch nerfs I don’t think they are as op as before. I had hard time voting for strongest class, but I ended up voting guardian simply cause they are used from begin to end in high end teams.

I don’t have team, this was just my thinking and my experience. But first yes I wanna discuss more. You said you will slow down my ele? How do you plan to do that. Lets imagine we play forest map, it is almost impossible to stop me from reaching your node on time. Unless you put people on me, which will lose you middle. Every person you place to take care of my ele is equaling to having extra less person on middle. Another thing is that you used ele on our far node, which pretty much means we agree ele is must. And then I feel that my team have upper hand because mesmer ulti + for example thief, and good bye to your ele.so we like to send 4 ppl out the beach door. i start with magic bullet stun through ur ride the lightning then beserker to cripple u and put u in combat. that is all it takes and if we land it the rest my team is already running to mid without entering combat. if we nne dextra slow on u a second person can help. guardian for example with immobaloze. plus the ranger has traps set down so he will always get the cap. now the ele on our team ignored all that and went straight to your point and you called 4 our crossing because you seen 4 us beach door so most likely 2-3 will stay at your home point but we are going to mid. we have 3 ppl beating on your guard and can have him dead in 20 seconds reguardless of what he does. the second guy will be trickling into mid and maybe the 3rd guy if your mesmer says he can take our ele but they cant so now we have ur guard down and he didnt hurt any of us we have a engi and a guard in mid so whatever 2 you have is going to have a hard time killing us 3. at that point ranger will tell me how much time he has left either he is about to die or has to break off let it get neatralized to stay alive. i would be first rotater on my mesmer and would evaluate the time it takes me to get to him on when i have to break off. but if you left 2 ppl to stay home against our ele after we kill guard i immediatley rotate back home point scare you off our ranger and let our 2 at mid 2v1 your 1 person left. plus our ele doesnt kite your 2 close back to mid hes by you base so yes you have it capped by hes toying with 2 ppl leaving us outnumbering your team.
and this whole game came down to you leaving a mesmer and us leaving a ranger at home point. just the difference in score i give classes really does make a huge difference in a actual game.
now you can put a thief or warrior in my spot and they can be as useful as me but lets say i stop playing mesmer and pick up necro or ranger and we run a top 5 class comp then our strats are amplified just because of how much better the class is.

Now that I know whats your plan I’m changing my strategy too. I’m sending 4 beach too including mesmer. But I have time warp, all my people will focus one of your guys that is most squishy chain cc on him. In the mean time my ele will run through and stop your ranger from capping, same as your ele will stop ours.
Now situation is:
- my ranger vs your ele
- your ranger vs my ele
- 3v2 on mid cause I had time warp
What I learned from gw2 is: how people don’t appreciate good things and hold onto negativity blindly.
For example everyone forgets how:
- you need 0 grind to play pvp in gw2
- you can play any class at any moment in gw2 in pvp
- you don’t need stupid healers anymore and you’re free to choose your class as you like

What I can say for sure, I have 150 tournament wins with warrior and after I finished that I started my ranger and its going so much faster. In my opinion ranger is maybe 2 times more useful and easy compared to warrior. I don’t remember last time I lost on ranger, and I’m on 80 wins now. ( I mostly solo queue, or go with my friend ranger).
Now my opinion about class balance is connected to how games flow. For example how I imagine good team: Ele go to far node, Guardian go mid and Mesmer is capping close + portal defense mid. Other 2 pieces are optional. Now if your ele is at far node, enemy must react and send at least 2 burst, which means you should win middle easy. Having guardian on middle gives you flexibility of moving and having extra 30/40 seconds for reinforcements. These are reasons why I think ele, guard and mesmer are all 9+. Ranger and thief are both 8 in my opinion. Pro thieves can drop people very fast, and good aoe and escape, rangers are great for 1v1 but traps on nodes are op short cds . Engi and necro I don’t have much experience with them honestly, but as ranger I have easy time vs them most of the times. Warrior is just sad in my opinion.
Nothing changed on Gunnars, still getting into overflow…
My suggestion would be that native players have advantage over guests. The reason why guesting exist is that you can join and play with friends across servers and not farm world events. So if I enter Frostgorge, I want to kick guest to overflow and enter.
I was never in tier 1, but I follow scene and score. What I noticed is that VS is like always in T1, while challengers change over time. It feels like there is large group of guilds that want to challenge VS and they create super server, try then fail because no organizations. They usually have superior prime euro time coverage only. What I don’t understand arrogance on forums, thinking because they have huge amount prime time they deserve to win.

I’m taking into consideration number of players that are playing. Is it really smart to separate in any way? I was actually very impressed in last 2 days, each time i clicked join solo in new map, match started under 10 seconds. To me this is huge plus. Before I used to wait 10+ minutes for game to start.
Thing is we probably don’t know full effect of separating things like this. Since I never played paids, and from reading posts on forums people were not happy with it. Long queues, teams matched against same opponents all the time. If people who played paids could verify this would be nice. Now Anet removed paids, everyone is on the same field, and I notice much faster queues, games are rolling.
My suggestions would be:
1. Remove hot join and make tournament better interface and easier to spot (Huge Giant NPC in middle of mist, and when u click huge buttons).
2. Make daily reward laurels. I so hope they make this. You would have huge influx of pve players trying out just cause of laurels. This is new currency that is hot right now, anet pls abuse this. Some pve players might even like it.
3. Monitor progress of numbers. If community start growing, then yea consider doing week of solo q / premades and see how it goes.
4. Remove 8 team tournament, and maybe implement 4 team. Honestly this mode simply don’t attract many people because in 50% of the time some team will have leaver due to long queues.
I know I’m like only person against separating right now, but I honestly don’t feel it would contribute that much at this moment and would hurt more.

Everyone is blaming it on something, balance, lack of updates or whatever reason u may think of. But from the beginning something was off. Ever since they announced that they are planning to make it in esport game I felt that they don’t understand actually what they are into.
Before I start you should know that I’m gamer for maybe 16 years ever since I got my first console and since then I became obsessed with gaming. I followed rise of esport since its beginning days in scbw – wc3 – dota – lol – sc2. These 5 games are basicly giants of esport and games that are considered most successful in that aspect. (not including fps games like cs).
So first off all I’ll say that there is “holy triangle” of esport. It consists of 3 equally valuable parts and they are depending on each others. Viewers (Casuals) – Pros (Esport Athletes) – Sponsors (guys with money Investors). Now there is actually reason why I put viewers (casuals) first. The growth of game and becoming esport depend on amount of casuals. Its simple as that. I’ll give you example of lol. There is 10 million casuals, out of those 10 million some 200 will separate themselves with skill and become pros. Other casuals will watch their streams and if you have big viewership you enter in category of Pro. Now because u have big amount of followers, sponsors will be interested. For example in sc2 one player get 8k viewers while he play. Sponsor such as Razer will see this as opportunity and will offer contract with player or team of that player. They will advertise their product and because of that their sales will increase. Pros will get their cut obviously and everyone is profiting in some way. Viewers get quality and good competitive play, pros get money, sponsors get bigger sale. Its basicly down to money. Then it gets bigger, and companies start making tournaments, if everything go well it can reach over 100k viewers. This is streamed by professional groups and caster with professional casters. It becomes job like any other.
Anet failed to deliver in first step. Casuals (potential viewers) number is so small its impossible to generate enough pro, and to attract viewers. Now you may say, well simply people are not interested. If you look at list of those 5 games I mentioned, with exception of sc2, all these games are free. Sc2 have scene based on sc1 success. Now you may say wc3 is not free. Actually it is. Out of wc3 biggest giant of all was born. Dota was for long time most popular game, it is so popular that dota2 now have 1 million dollars prize tournaments. Wc3 was pirated and you can play dota competitive on garena for example. Ever wondered why Anet have like 15 german and french servers, and garena have 20 romanian, 30 ukrainian servers and 10 bulgarian server and 1 french and 1 german server? Its because for germans/french paying 50 euros is nothing, while for majority of east europe that can be like third of their monthly pay. They simply cant afford to buy game. I know because I live in bosnia and lots of my friend simply cant afford 50 euros for a game. Or even if they could they will rather spend it on something else. Now you may say, but anet cant make game free. Yea that’s true but if you want to make it esport then at least make heart of mist free. Its anyways totally not connected with pve content and wvw. Hell maybe even some players after they try spvp will like game enough and buy full package.
Second most important thing why it failed, its because system. They probably thought game will be huge and separated it into 3 categories: spvp (totally useless), tpvp and paids (this one was biggest turnoff for me). Instead they should strongly unite this already small group of players that love game. Also why is ladder important? Casuals such as myself don’t intend going to pros, but in this game I don’t even know who is pro. Where can I check rank? Where can I check games of these players? There should be huge button like half of screen when u press mist panel that says RANKING. There should be some sort of notification when highest ranks play so I can watch. When I click on tournament npc there should be huge button that says CLICK HERE TO JOIN. Instead there were 2 mini buttons on bottom of screen that said create roster, I honestly thought I needed full team just to play tourny for 3 months. System and everything need to be polished. There have to be tournaments that mean something. There have to be some sort of ranking… reason for players to play. Overall balance is bad but this is least problem now. Even if spvp go free, all hype of game is out, how are you planning to lure casuals to this game? I don’t know answer to this, but I wish you guys pull it out cause honestly I would love to watch this game, and I love playing it.

I feel like this orb should give 50/25 instead of 30/15 points. I think it will make people focus even more on it, and make map more dynamic instead of focusing on nodes. I’ll say its refreshing map and very decent idea though. I love the fact that when u bring orb to enemy circle it neutralize it.
I main warrior and I got him somehow to 150 tourny wins, and now I’m playing ranger. My first tournament game on ranger I got to finals, run to clock and I soloed guardian + warrior.
Its like you training with 100kg extra, and switch to ranger and remove those extra kgs its how i felt honestly.
But then week after that I’m still running ranger, I get on random team 5 vs4. My team got 3 thiefs + 2 rangers. I’m thinking ok we got this in bag. And enemy warrior beat the kitten out of us. Some rank 57 dude I forgot name. Full dps warrior would not die to 3 thiefs and 2 rangers… I was confused honestly and I’m still wondering what build he was using and would love to 1v1 that guy warrior vs warrior.
Lets relax and check things in game first I guess. Also I wanna try 1 vs 1 some good ele on my warrior to see how much time I need to drop him down, but I just started download so it will take some time…
I have good news and bad news. Bad news is obviously I main warrior sad panda =(.
The good news is that I play ranger in tpvp now xD.
I think you are should rename your tiers a bit.
Tier S: best class or too much op
Tier A: slightly op
Tier B: good balance
Tier C: underpowered

Tier S: Elementalist (no surprise here i guess)
Tier A: Guardian, Thief, Mesmer. I’m little bit surprised that people putting thieves so low. As a warrior, you can be in middle of battle and suddenly you die to thief. In like second, you can go scratch, yawn, check your phone for sec or whatever and thats enough time for thief to down you.
Tier B: Necro, Ranger, Enge. I guess lots of people noticed potential in ranger, but I rarely meet some top tier rangers and they are ok with me.
Tier C: Warrior. Nothing makes me happy then to see bunch of warrior in enemy team. You know they gonna bulls rush you, and you know once you dodge it you won.
Last 20 games at least 15 were 4vs5 for me. This is kind of killing my will to play tpvp…
As a player who has been doing WvW for the first few months of the game. Mainly small group vs zergs, I recently found my way to sPvP. After playing the hotjoin for quite some time, I discovered the tournament system.
However, I soon found out that most in map only take 35+ and 40+ in rank for these tournaments.. Even a few time when there was no rank requirement in the announcement, I was asked for my rank (19) and kicked from those parties without a single word or explanation. The few times that a group actually kicked off it was challenging, but not impossible; and as rank only brings more cosmetic rewards instead of better gear as in PvE, I wonder why it is a requirement to join sPvP groups?
So players who just farm hot join in a zerg are more skilled in PvP than those who know how to play their profession but haven’t been in sPvP since day 1? Or are forced to farm dull hotjoin matches for days in order to enjoy challenging PvP?
First you should know that you are not depending on people on map. You can solo queue for tournament at npc, and you will be given team. And for people saying level don’t matter for skill, well in many cases skill is not in question here.
Yesterday I was solo queue, I enter in team and they are all slow to run. Obviously I rush to henge since they are not coming, and as soon as I step in circle 4 of them coming after me. So I’m standing on henge and 4 other people together with me sitting on it. Worst thing is we won this game, and you guess it right all 9 people excluding me were lower then 20. I doubt level 30+ people would do these nonsense things which plenty low levels do unfortunately.
Actually I also believe problem is small base of players. But that’s not only issue. What I don’t understand is why anet separates sPvP in 3 different categories. I was just in queue for free tournament for 10 minutes, first game was as usual 5 vs 4 ( I think my last 10 games always had some leaver), regular spvp have some 500 to 600 players playing and I don’t do paids, but from posts here, it doesn’t seems its going good.
Why not remove regular spvp, 8v8 is anyways useless and also I don’t understand point of paids. There is no way I’m going to pay just so I can play pvp match. This is actually first time I saw in game where you paying to play competitive pvp.
Why not just fuse all these together, and maybe as population grow new teams will be born, and it will become more competitive over time. Separating already tiny population into 3 groups is kind of doing the opposite in my opinion.
Seems the entire AG server is lost in the GH border judging by your numbers. The culling made tactics obsolete for the most part. Portal bombed what we thought were 15 guys turned out to be at the very least 30 but more likely 50. Needless to say we wiped…….

You should know that large group of xaoc transfered to Piken, then another group of xoac got angry and went seafarer to counter them since they are in same tier. Basicly mighty xaoc is mostly split in those 2 servers and only small amount remains on gunnar. I’m actually surprised how we are holding in this tier.

This from my side isn’t talking down on you guys, although I’ve only been in WvW 2 evenings during this matchup and when I was there I had a hard time staying awake due to busy times IRL, I saw some nice fights against you guys that didn’t involve said guild so take that as a compliment if you will. But I have been keeping track of point ticks, talked to WvW’ers on our server etc. and I do notice a trend.
Without XaoC this matchup would’ve been even more balanced but alas that’s not meant to be.
Without XaoC this matchup would not happen at all. GH would not be in this tier. And people somehow think that XaoC is playing only in morning when everyone sleep. Thing is, they are playing almost all day, many of them even fight you in prime time. They are large group that is playing almost all day.
GH is strong server, but without them we were winning tier 8 but not by much.
Also I find it strange how some people hint that because XaoC makes difference in morning we don’t “deserve” this win. Well just think it from our perspective, you have number advantage at prime time euro, the more clock tick the higher your numbers are. Which is opposite for us. Each hour we have less and less people compared to you.
In the end its game of numbers. You cant catch up to lead that XaoC gives us in mornings. And that’s pretty much it. WvW is most of the times game of numbers. If we didn’t have XaoC, you would win easily BECAUSE then you would have more numbers and more coverage.
My advice would be to enjoy match up, and stop finding excuses for losing. Having fun is much more important especially since this tier is one of the most balanced ones.
Ok just finished it, took us around 2 hours with preparations and everything. I had person who was first time in so I had to explain strategy.
2 thiefs 2 warriors + mesmer.
We used 4/1 strategy and basicly goes like this:
- take simin to 50%
- put 4 sparks in
- let simin regen to 100%
- drop her to 50% again
- now place last spark in only one (mesmer need to be close to spark before she stealth)
- time warp
- frenzy
- gg from 50% to 0%
You should bring highest dps pots, potion of undead slaying, put sigil of undead slaying in gs, its all about preparation. U don’t need skill as much as you need preparation. Also be carefull to not bug last boss.
My 2 friends and I gonna try arah 4 now. So we need 2 extra. Feel free to whsper me if you’re on euro. We are 2 warriors + thief, and would prefer another warrior and mesmer.
I gave you my answer, since I know how to counter d/d eles playing bunker, I’d use builds which would counter them : hammer warrior-trap ranger-engineer-wells necro-shatter mesmer…it was so easy= lava font+eruption pressure, ele goes water and ele leaves water, frozen ground+shatter = dead bunker ele; or I can call thief, cluster bomb when he leaves water=dead ele.
How many situations do you need?
Ok so you would choose team B, interesting choice. Btw you cant call thief because there is no thief in team B. Now what I would like to know is, are you part of top team and more important I would need more answers from top teams.
Actually the best thing would be to make PvP league. Something like WvW with tiers. Each tier consist of 5 teams, and maybe 10 tiers. I would like to see what compositions would those teams use.

But word of top teams would mean a lot. I actually agree that their opinion matter the most. Only thing sometimes they would try to hide their real feeling especially if some strategy giving them great results.
But I would ask top teams one question and its related to my list:
If you would have to play match for 1 million dollars against team that is absolutely same skilled as you which composition would you choose:
a) Ele, Guardian, Thief, Mesmer and Necro
b) Warrior, Ranger, Engineer, Mesmer and Necro
It would be interesting to find out opinion of pro teams on this, and % of them choosing answer a.
I’ll rate them as well from op to need buff in my opinion:
1. Elementalist – having extra 10 skills, very stong (maybe too strong utility like mist) they are too versatile. High healing, aoe, movement cc… something has to be toned down.
2. Guardian – I put them number 2 simply because pvp revolv around holding position, and many guardian skills seems to be made just to do that. You need lots of time to take down guardian, and by the time u doing that hes backup coming to clean you up.
3. Thief – I’d say toning down their dmg would do the job. Many people complaining they are dropping people too fast, and I have to agree.
4. Mesmer – I think mesmers are actually fine. There are 2 skills that should be removed or reworked for spvp, portal and time warp. Other then those 2 obviously op skills, I think mesmers are most fun class to fight against.
5. Necro – I have to say this is what I believe is balanced class. They have weaknesses, they have their strong points and overall balanced out.
6. Ranger – Hard to say, because on every decent ranger, I’ve run into 10 people who had no idea what they’re doing. I’d say improving their pet skills would probably balance them out.
7/8. Warrior/Engineer – In my opinion warrior is too simple, too predictable. Where they gave for example extra 10 skills to ele, extra 3 passive + skill to guardian, well they gave 2 extra crappy skills to warriors. Adrenalin skills are just so weak compared to other class utility, evisc is one example of decent one. But then again just imagine guardian sharing block to whole team with 1 button. I guess they wanted to compensate because warrior have huge chunk of hp, which melt down like paper anyways.
Engineer is kind of enigma to me still. Didn’t have trouble against them on any of my toons, there were some decent ones I fought against, but overall I think they should be improved.
Btw I’m rank 23, with over 100 games in tpvp, not too much experienced but this is what i feel about balance.
I’m warrior and I was fighting vs thief, he downed me but i got him from ground, I used vengeance and finished him but after some time I will die(because of vengeance). So I go and try to shoot one more time treb before I’m dead. And I died while I was on treb. After that I was bugged, my camera was showing me treb view, and I was still using it and I could not stop and gain control of my character. My character was standing on spawn point and I was not even close to treb.
It probably sound complicated, but I don’t know how better to explain.
I was playing mostly sPvP, but recently I decided to try out tPvP. Well difference of skill is huge. Where I would mostly feel superior in sPvP, now mostly I would feel hopeless and outplayed.
Now if I would run into organized team, after 1, 2 minutes I can tell whats going on and those kind of loses are not that important to me. What surprised me the most when I would play vs random teams they would hold their own. Sometimes even outplay me completely. Now keep in mind I play alone and I’m in random teams.
My goal is to improve and to be able to contribute the best I can. Here are questions:
I use axe/shield and I like it. Axe is good dps with range cripple + imob and shield stance saved me lots of times. My biggest problem is secondary weapon. I tried rifle and I felt its not that good. People are dodging, dps on rifle is bad. Other people have better range options so I tried hammer. Didn’t like hammer because animations are so slow, good players simply dodge the hell out of me. Rarely I would connect combo and even then they survive. I looked other option and didn’t find any to fit my style.
What are good options for secondary weapons?
Also I run 0 0 25 30 15 shout build soldier rune + berserk amulet. With axe I crit a lot since I’m perma fury. Any suggestion here? My main goal was to create balanced build, with surviving options while still be able to take down peoples hp. I use shake it off, for great justice and fear me.
Also is this build better for camping spots, or maybe I should add gs and try to roam. What are general ideas behind each map for warrior? Should I create totally new build? Would like suggestions from experienced tPvP warriors.

I’m not here to win argument against you, I’m here hoping anet will look into this. The bigger this thread becomes the more chances are of that happening. Also it wont hurt to share my opinion, after all forums are place where u exchange opinions.
But the problem is, you are playing it the way you want already. Hot join is the way. And my friends don’t wanna play and are not interested in this system. I’m bored of it because I cant play with my friends. And so are other people. So the selfish one is you because you already have it your way, why cant they add our way? I’m not trying to deny hot join. Let it stay, and those 500 that are playing it can be happy I don’t mind. But why are u against dota system or any other game where u can play with your friends i have no idea.
U saw number 15k at some point, but that’s just number of people playing at one moment. Also again I was not talking about dota 2 but dota 1. Just now there are 150k-200k people on garena mostly playing dota. That is just one client. Even with dota2 beta out that game is so popular. Your spvp have barelly 500 people playing at best.
The bottom line is, games are so much more enjoyable while playing with friends. And also yea u might be hurt by some people owning you if you were alone all the time, but most of my games were 5v5 where both teams had some groups. Rarely u will see groups of 5 randoms. Someone will join my game and ask for slot for friends. I would gladly offer because playing games with friends is what people enjoy.
Or people that loved dota system could have that, and you have your own hot join system. I would not force you to play my way.
Also respond to your comparison with cs is just wrong. I played on server where after each game you could choose team. So if me and my friend wanted to play terrorists we would just go and click that in begin. Another thing is that in gw2 you depend on others if you will play with your friends. If game is 5v5 and you got on oposite team, then obviously you have to wait someone leave and join with your friend. That could happen or not but its ruining game for us. Now if I wanna play with 2 friends its almost impossible to get all 3 of us in same team. Not to mention random team switching after the game. In CS game start we choose terror and that’s it.
I understand you had bad experience with stacked teams or at least it sound like you had bad experiences, but there are many people who had good experiences with it. I had years of fun with dota simply because I could play with my friends. And many other people did.

I personally didn’t play CS that much, but from what I remember there are many servers some have 10 vs 10, some 20 vs 20 or even more so you can find server where its easy to change team. Also another thing is that if I remember you can pick side in begin of each game. What is mostly important I remember it was easy for me to play with my friend. So yea CS have option to play with friends and its easier then here.
Respond to your last part is again your opinion. You can enjoy playing alone, while for many players its deal breaking. Don’t you think its a bit selfish to just have your own opinion system implemented? Ok you have your hot join, its not very popular. Why not implement dota system for people who might enjoy that more. Maybe the game would grow. Maybe other people will get interested to play it. You can have different systems in one game. Having people to play certain way they don’t like will make them lose interest. And I think good indication is activity of sPvP.
It would be insane if they allowed parties to join hotjoin – even 2 people that use voicechat and strategies in 5×5 hotjoin can make a huge impact, not to mention if you join as 5 people. When I play with my friends in hotjoin we try to spread in both teams to make it challenging for all of us, since I never understood the point in going as a team to farm randoms at public servers.
So in short – things like party joining to hotjoins should not (and probably will not if devs have any kind of sense) be implemented.

If u allow parties in hot join that would not be hot join anymore. And again you mentioning some rare cases where 5 people would stomp random people. But in reality most of people have like friend or two and wanna play with them. Many times when I was playing dota, I create game with my 2 friends and 2 random join us. And enemy many times had 2 or 3 people playing together. We didn’t even care if full team of 5 join. Only thing that matter is ability to play with friends. You cant do this in sPvP.
tPvP last too long to organize, its another design fail in my opinion. And as a result you have very little interest in sPvP all together.
I’ll say this again since its not reaching some people: Playing with your friends its MOST IMPORTANT aspect of game. If you cant do this, its gonna be boring for many including me and my friends.

What a lying little kitten. In a vast majority of those game if you queue as 5 you will only get matched up with other groups of 5. Same with if you queue as 4 or 3 or even 2. Clearly you are the one who never plays MOBAs.

Thing is, it seems you had lots of pain with dota, lol or those other games and you had bad experience. Maybe because you played solo a lot, and were matched against teams. But for majority of players they have like 2 or 3 friends, and sometimes they just wanna roll game and play. Situation you described is minor. Having ability to play with your friends its most important thing if you want to have fun. Not having this options is ruining fun for almost everyone who have friend. I’m sorry I guess that you don’t have friend or two you wanna play with but you cant only think about yourself.
And if you think anet doing god job with sPvP just look at numbers of people that are playing.
As for dota2 only 15k playing thats wrong. I remember when steam announced that dota2 was second most played game on steam. And don’t forget dota2 is just in beta state. And I was talking more about dota 1 which is played a lot. Those games simply have huge success.
There should NEVER be a pwf/join as a group option in spvp.
everyone that is saying there should either never played a moba or has ulterior motives.
I have played nearly every moba out there and every one has a problem with pwf/join as a group vs. random queues.
This is what happens. You get 6 tactical players all on team speak/ventrillo/mumble/whatever voip service their using VS. 6 randoms. the randoms get pwned hard and never play again. the randoms go to the forums to complain, and the pwf’s simply respond with “this is a team game”. In which the randoms respond “then why is there a option to join solo?”

Arena net was smart enough to know this and fix it before this problem ever started.
PWF in spvp should never be an option.
You could not be more wrong. If you think about this for a second you will realize that GW2 is most popular mmo this year, yet its most competitive side sPVP is almost dead. There are 290 sPvP servers and most of them are empty at all times. While if you look at dota or Lol, there are millions and millions playing it at any moment. You might ask yourself why is that? Well because its fun and you can play with your friends.
I want to play game with my friend, what are my options? Enter sPvP and prey we get in same team? Or joining some other websites and trying to cooperate with other 7 teams which could last hour until everyone is ready to have match ? I don’t wanna waste my time like this. I just wanna have game or two with my friend if I feel like it. As it is, you cant do this in GW2.
Anet is trying so hard to improve sPvP or rather tPvP, but main problem is not everyone wanna be top competitive, they should look more for semi casuals. Its crucial for community to have big casual scene, and from there you will grow some competitive. However not having this option to play with your friends, trust me its killing interest of many.
Anet should look at how dota and LoL made it big and simply copy system.
I actually think this is positive move. For many weeks Vabbi and FoW were last tier without any chances of moving up. RoS would sometimes move up, but soon after get kicked out to last tier. So I wish WvW lovers of these servers will get some action and move up ranks.
But I think most of people focus their anger towards wrong thing. Main issue here is free transfer. While this is the case, people will move to locations they feel best for them and at the same time create unhappy situations for others people.
I’ll give example of Gunnar’s Hold, we were tier 2 but dropped down to lower tiers after many guilds transfered. While some people hated situations, I actually loved it. And even now I enjoy in WvW so much more. While intensity of battle is not different, you will not see huge zergs moving all around. Instead you have smaller groups, still battling fiercely. And I actually enjoy in these smaller skirmish battles much more.
If huge alliance would come to GH I would not like it. But other people would welcome it. And that’s the thing here. You cant make everyone happy. Especially with big moves and transfers.
But if transfers were not free, you would have less of these situations, and people would stay and battle with what they have. I believe server guilds would create stronger bonds, maybe even make friendships. But as it is, you are playing with strangers and you don’t know if tomorrow they will be your friend of foe.
Just had attempt at Simin second time.
- sparks are not entering smoothly, whats even bigger problem is that by the time u get sparks to enter its already kind of too late since regen is insanely high
- tried 4/1 strategy it works until phase 3 but then boss just resets again if u dont have insane dps
- we had thief with poison + 2 warriors full dpsing it
- tried luring Simin out where she don’t enter stealth, not working anymore
Overall bad design of boss in my opinion. Lots of people who finished it used glitches, very small amount of them actually did how it was intended with insane dps. Btw we had dungeon master in party, who got title with glitch.
I just hopped on my own character on Live, went to LA (an overflow, of course) and was able to get the item. So we’re still investigating!
Can you try this: Talk to Tixx and after u finish talking, teleport somewhere else. Then come back and chest should be opened without you touching it.
This is what happened to me. I talked with Tixx, enter dungeon without noticing chest, then when I got back from dungeon chest was opened and I didn’t receive gifts.
same issue, my main warrior lv80 stuck in cursed shore, my alt ranger lv13 stuck in queens room…
