The support team is really great indeed. It may be that they do not reply to client crash posts here in the threads, but they were really prompt and explanatory in replying to my emails.

So taking all the above comments, it is very clear that this OOM crash is:

1. Not a 32-bit system problem as claimed by the developers and is common to 64-bit system users as well
2. Not a problem due to game not completely patched/downloaded

Developers how much proof do you want to believe that it is your patch and not the end user system which has resulted in this crash situation?

Im glad that you do not have any issues, I get that since you post in every thread regarding this issue. But people are crashing, they are getting OoM errors and you posting everything is ok in my world is not helping those that can not play the game, crash out of maps on meta thus unable to finish since you end up in an empty map on relog, infact the issue now extends further than the new maps, its everywhere.

Just because this is not happening to you, does not mean this is not happening to many others, if you check out the other thread, you will see its not just a 32bit problem. And if I was not crashing constantly I would actually be ingame playing, as it is I check the forums now to see if anyone has a solution to the problems and if the Devs are actually going to fix the issue.

Sorry if that sounded rude, but frustation can do that.

I have been asked by the developers over my ticket response that upgrading to 64-bit client will solve the problem. I am unable to do the same. Hence I requested for a refund. I just wonder that all 64-bit users dont experience such crash issues and all the players experiencing the same are either 32-bit Window or Mac users?

My husband and I are both running 64 bit and we are both suffering from the constant crashes.

Anyway, saying it is a 32bit issue would not be correct, at least it isn’t the only issue, obviously.

I wonder that if a Win10 64-bit user is constantly crashing, then what is the basis of GW2 Developers claim that the game works smooth on 64-bit system?

Is your download complete or you are playing the game while the download is still going on?

My initial crash experience was in WvW map. Rest was fine. Then the crashes started in Heart of Mists and now even in the low levelling areas as well.

Hello Fellow Players;

After going through several threads and have couple of reverts from the Technical team over a OOM Crash ticket, there are a few things that comes up:

1. The game is now almost unplayable at 32-bit system and the players need to upgrade to a 64-bit system if they wish to continue playing as the new patches won’t let users play smoothly in a 32-bit system

2. If the streaming is going on, it can lead to crashes

Hence I wish to ask players two questions:

Q1. Are there any players who are playing in 64-bit system and also experiencing similar OOM crashes?

Q2. Are there players whose game is completely downloaded and they still experience similar OOM crashes?

I am losing hours of work on these events only to crash and not get back in in time for rewards or get in on the same map.

I’ve had people tell me its my fault, and my settings… but I’m doing exactly what the game allows me to do, so Anet really needs to get it together. I spend too much money on them.

This happens to me and almost all my friends too.

It is not your fault or your settings. It is the patch.

Developers please respond at least something!

My game crashes consistently every hour or so. After sending Anet multiple reports on my gig, they essentially gave up and just told me to reinstall. Strangely, I have a friend who uses a non-gaming laptop w/ much lower specs, and doesn’t crash at all (averaging 30 fps on medium). On the other hand, I’m using a gaming desktop that runs the game on high averaging 60-70 fps. This has been so frustrating that I’m not sure if I plan on sticking around much longer.

I am thinking asking ANet for a refund on HoT purchase actually.

Wait for the client crash scenario to be done with before you think of purchasing. I purchased the expansion a bit too early it seems

Players who are constantly posting here, means that they are able to play the game normally. Which means they are not effected by the constant client crashes.

It would be great if any of the regular posters can help players like me who are bugged with constant client crashes, with possible solutions and advices so that we can get into the game as well, as ANet Devs are unresponsive at the moment.

That’s because you have a completely different error according to your screenshot here.

If the error log doesn’t have the line “Module: HMIPCore.dll” this won’t help you.

Yes agreed. Mine is OOM error only. As mentioned earlier, I am using lowest graphic settings, opted for best performance and disabled the AV as well. The game still crashes. All was fine till HoT was released.

IT IS THE PATCH. Hope they fix it soon.

I’d like to leave this as a suggestion, since 3 of my friends are experiencing the same multiple crashes since HoT and a bit before.

After several days of examining other threads (thry exist out there on reddit and other sites) we wanted to try something ridiculous.

They all share something in common and they’re using free antivirus software and they all have gtx 960 cards. Now, what we tried was disabling the antivirus. In an hour of testing, we had no random disconnects. Now whether this cured requires more testing on our part, but it might be worth a try for all who are having this issue.

This is not to absolve ANet of reaponsibility or excuse their silence. But I wanted to share this may be a culprit and worth trying.

I disabled the AV and kept the lowest settings in graphics. Still crashed within 5 mins of playing in levelling areas.

So it is the patch rather the end user settings etc.

There is so much hue and cry as players including myself are not able to play due to Client crash and here is someone asking for a refund coz the content is tough! Hilarious..

It is the patches and nothing else. Removing RAMs, changing graphic settings etc is is crap. Hope Devs react soon in a positive way

ANet will eventually fix it in time it seems but they need more users using this thread and posts in Twitter and FB accounts so that their HoT release gets a lot more hype. Otherwise people mainly complain about class balances etc. This bug fixing probably is getting them double the hits. I don’t think that the system maintenance team of such a big MMO company can be that bad.

I have not been able to PvP due to constant client crush if the character is in the mists. I could only get into a Hotjoin game once just to crash within seconds. Aren’t you guys who are posting in several threads facing any such issue?

The crashes are happening in PvP maps while practising on targets even.

I am a new player and playing only in starting areas, a bit of LA and mainly PvP. The game started crashing after HoT in WvW but rest everything was fine. Now it crashes in PvP too leaving the starting areas fine. I think the game will soon start crashing in starting areas as well.

My game client has been crashing since HoT. It was predominantly in WvW, with rest including Heart of Mist being fine. Then it started in Heart of Mists as well. The game is fine in starting areas though.

Since the new patch the game is crashing particularly if the character is in Heart of Mists or WvW. If the character is in normal map like in initial levelling grounds, then this is not happening.

Apart from the server errors, the crash is still a big issue. I could just log in Heart of Mists but just after couple of minutes, the game crashed.

Developers please care to post something!

Almost copy paste the initial post. However I am facing such a problem if the character is in Heart of Mists or Lion’s Arch. If it is in general map like the Foothills, then the game runs smoothly.

The forums however is taking ages to load. Please help.

Not everyone can be happy with a particular change. A change will make a group of players happy whereas other unhappy and the forums will always have players crying foul that the developers are doing kitten and the game is badly unbalanced.

I have been seeing such posts from years in WoW and here the situation is no different. It would be more useful for new players in GW2 like myself, that instead of people crying foul that some other class which they are not playing is OP and needs a nerf which their class needing a buff, rather create threads about what makes their toon’s class nice and how good they are in their gameplay, so that others can benefit from the same?

If you think that your current class is the worst but another class is perfect, then roll that class and help others roll for the same as well, rather putting up posts asking for nerfs! It is really boring.

Having said all this, may I now request veterans that please help me choose between Dragonhunter vs Reaper vs Revenant (not sure what) if I wish to play a Tank + DPS role in PvP teams and scale up higher in the league.

Lastly, it would be great if veterans and players running PvP premades create LFM threads and help us get rid of the evercrying players here.
