Because winning against low rated players dosent give much MMR. Why its so hard to understand??

If they implement decay every 12 hours people will have a reason to play and the matchmaking will be more balanced. Because right now people can just play 1 game every 3 days and then afk or troll on their alt account.
In the current system people are afraid to Q so they dont play and the matchmaking expands its range to lower MMR players and the games result in a blow out.
If everyone from top 50 would be online the games would be good, almost like ESL or tournament games but now its just strong Duos Q dodging each other, farming pugs at wierd hours etc..
12 hours is reasonable that requires you to play everyday, if you dont play after 12 hours you lose y rating ( maybe 10 idk) . The only way to get it back is to play. If you lose you gain your rating from decay back but you lose rating from the loss itself .
if you win same thing. You get back your rating from the decay+ the rating from the win. Basically a system that forces people to play everyday to keep the leaderboard competitive.
Also it would actually prevent massive losses of rating because it would be high rated players vs high rated players so technically they will never lose -30 or -20 because if you lose to other high rated players you might only lose -9.
Anet pls implement faster decay. 3 days is just too long and stupid. In fact if people had to play a minium amount of games everyday would be even better to keep the leaderboard fresh and competitive.
ROFL starting at square 1 is not gonna make a difference. The good players will cimb up and the trash will drop down. The same effect will take place eventually it will just take longer

Not really. Ele comps can easely be outrotated and outplayed by playing sides and ignoring huge team fights.
Thief is still subpar compared to rev even afer nerfs and with the amount of Dhs thief is not even that good.
I got an idea, we need a gold or above guy that fights against OP in hotjoin, best would be if both play the same class – after that fight, it should show us the truth

I came to the conclusion that the best players are stuck in Bronze. Because matchmaking is broken and all the good players lose all their games and go on massive lose streaks. The odds are always against them and all the games are uncarriable.
So I think the best players are in bronze around 300-900 MMR range is the best range for maximum MLG skill potential.
Im looking at the leaderboards right now and it dosent mean anything litereally every1 from rank 1 to rank 100 is just bad and somehow magically appeared on the leaderboard.
So yea I agree with every1 here who complained about matchmaking its just plain broken. Bronze players are the best players.

Hi Im the worst player in the north american server but somehow top 50. matchmaking is broken. I have been classified as a trash can thief that loses 1v2s to riffle warriors and to longbow rangers.
Fix matchmaking so worst players can never achieve top 50.

gotta stack more Dhs to win games. I bet your loss was because you were the only Dh in the team. Need at least 4
decay should counterfight that, if only it was 3 days instead of 7. Mulit accountant would be very tired to play every single acc every 3 days.
Its already 3 days. Decay should be 24 hours to be honest. I got 3 accounts myself and dont think I would play them all in the span of 24 hours just to keep the position.

I have a skill rating of over 2000, was number 12 on the leaderboard. Never been outside the top 100 the entire season, win rate is 54-25 or something like that. Lol, OP come back when you are as good as me (joking about that of course, top 100 is very good still).

It’d be brag worthy if you held it was either rearing the end of the season or at least a month when the system has stabilized the pool of players at more accurate MMRs?

DH and War both needs some serious nerfs somewhere. As it stands currently both heavies put out too much damage, are basically immune to condi (remember when War was “Weak to condi”?…lol great design ANet), have absurd uptime on invuln to regular damage AND have multiple gap closers.
ANet has really screwed the pooch with these two classes, everyone else feels pretty good right now. I wish some of the other classes had multiple builds (Engi) but everyone else can at least compete.
Here is a crazy thought, design a weakness into DH or Warriors… I know, thats crazy talk but I think it will make the game better for everyone.
warrior dosent need nerfs actually. They are In a pretty good spot right now and have losing matchups. And if they build for 1v1 they become absolute garbage in team fights and sacrifice moblity.

Theres not enough players in this game to have 2 dfferent Qs for 5 man and solo and you want them to add this type of Q? LOL

So they recorded all the moments when the player played badly. That happens to everyone. The goal is the win more than u lose and play as good as you possibly can. I can also record myself winning 1v2s and saying im the best player in the game.
Then record myself losing 1v2 cuz of a small mistake and everyone would call me bad.

People still try to block through tof. Not knowing which skills are in lockable and which aren’t means you aren’t qualified for high tier play.

if u cant carry 4 potatoes u are a potato yourself.

The higher I climb the ladder, the more DHs I see. As I said in one of my previous threads this class is too easy to play and too rewarding. And now that rev damage got shaved DH is actully OP on top of being easy too play which is the worst thing that happen in a competitive game mode. You dont want the strongest classes being the easiest, Im fine with something being strong if its played at its maximum potential ( thief: Sindrener or rev: Magic Toker)
Theres somee goood Dhs I saw but honestly 99% of them straight up got carried by the class including myself when I play Dh its a guaranteed win against most people even if they are better than me.
As u can see in this screenshot 4 Dhs, 90% of my matches today had 4 or more Dh. I would really like to see Anet nerf Dh before ruining the whole season. Dh has too much damage and too much sustain on top of still having some utility and CC. The healing of Dh is ridiculous even when it has 0 healing power.
Something needs to be done. I dont see how this class is balanced its just plain broken And it shows. Also just to compare it took me about 3 hours to get used to DH and beat other people who played guard for years, while on rev Im still learning and still get rekt on daily basis by better revs.
They need to make the class harder to play and less overpowered which imo requires major nerfs, until then well I guess we will keep saying 4 Dhs per game. Maybe even more in the upper ladder.

if you are Stuck in silver for 20 games means that’s where you belong. I started in silver and won 1v2s on my thief and 1v3s on my DH.

People are just being delusional about where they belong. if there are top 10 players that means theres also bottom 10 players. Someone has to be at the bottom aswell, everyone cannot be on the top so people get frustrated and wonder why they are stuck.
So we finally get a skill based sytem and people complain because they can no longer grind or get carried by premades.
I agree with Kratos, people have 2 choices, either to get good or climb the ladder or at least accept the fact that you were not as good as you thought and belong in the right divsion until you put more effort in and get better.

No, because they have high enough initial mmr to not be matched with complete potatoes. skill is a factor, yet. do you think helseth or sind can carry a match where one dude left, another one is afk at spawn while raging and you’re 3v5 with a hammer/staff guardian and a vanilla zerk ranger that only autoattacks and #5s?
if one of them can, i will worship him as god of guildwars forever.
He already did that on stream. He paired up with amber players in some previous season and carried a complete trash tier MMR game with ease where everyone was just plain bad and he could win 1v3s

If someone got truly unlucky placement matches, Im talking like going vs pro league players duo"s while having complete plebs in your team and end up at silver MMR or even bronze.
What they could is set up a win streak system to help them get out of scrub tier division. basically if you win 3 games in a row in a bronze-silver league you get a bonus +30 points then +40 for 4 wins +50 for 5 wins etc.
This would help good players to get out of scrub tier faster while the real scrubs will just keep losing and stay there.
I think this would be really good actually. So lets say a player gets crap placement matches ends up at 1k MMR and wins 20 games in a row.
He should get about 30 pts per game+ 200 bonus. that means he would be already at 1800 after just 20 games.
I think this would fix the whole whining on the forums about placement matches. because if you get unlucky you will still climb out if you are good.
So you have almost the same win/loss ratio as me yet I’m in Silver T3 when im consistently getting top stats. That just shows this system is broken.
Its not about win ratio its about who you win against. Stomping scrubs dosent give any MMR
yes placement matches are based on luck but the rest is not.
if you end up high you can easely drop if you dont belong there once you restart playing. if you place low you should be happy because you will easely be able to stomp scrubs through the lower division with a 80%+ win ratio and farm gold rewards even faster until you reach your real division in about 1-5 days depending on how many games you play if you are a good player that dosent belong in that division.
600 MMR holy crap. These people are basically easier to take down than svanir. I dont see why it would be hard to carry

Ill start. Im platinum now and think i belong around the top 100.
first account ( main acc) got placed really high like top 30 then it dropped to around top 100
2 nd account ( this account) got placed in scrub tier silver, I had to grind my way up
3 rd account( non HoT account) was 5-5 and placed gold
And I think I belong in Plat t2-t3 which is around top 200 I guess.

…I dunno about you but having three accounts in the top 250 seems like it shouldn’t be something you’re proud of? You’re pushing two people out of the top 250.
I try to keep my main acccout as high as possible but the other 2 are basically troll accounts, I dont even play meta builds sometimes if I dont feel like try harding on alt accounts. This account is a semi troll account. I try to win most of the time but not always.
My 3rd account is truly a troll account it does not even has heart of thorns and its still top 250. So these 2 might drop out.
Being only slightly above average, and making it into the top 250 with 3 different accounts are mutually exclusive.
If you are truly only “slightly better than average” then you will drop out of the top 250 as the season goes on. Otherwise you are not just “slightly above average”
Im not saying everyone should be top 250. Im saying that people should be able to climb out of the low divsions if they think they dont belong there.

If you lose its YOUR fault, You were not able to carry hard enough. That’s about it. Sure some matches are uncarriable but most of them are if you are in a lower division.
If you cannot carry then that’s where you belong. because carrying means being significantly better than everyone in that division.
And btw on this account I had to climb to reach top 250 because the placement matches were a total mess, so I did get unlucky on this account unlike my other 2 but still climbed.
This is not a brag thread I’m literally just slightly above average and still made it solo Q on 3 accounts. for pro players this would be even easier. I believe Magic Toker has 3 or more? accounts in the top 10-20.
Im probably never gonna reach legend and in fine with that. People need to accept that and stop blaming matchmaking.
