The loot system in WvW is pretty horrid. They need to just drop your loot in your bags. If you run out of space….you run out of space. Same problem applies now.

Either that or they need a “payout-agent” NPC in spawn where you can go to pick up your loot.

I have seen this happen multiple times and its starting to get on my nerves. So far I have seen a mesmer, an ele a ranger and a guardian revive off of completely nothing and walk away. It first happened when I attacked a ranger with my friend. We downed him in the middle of an open field. he used his mist form and ran but instead of going back down he came back up fully rallied and RTLed away. My friend and I checked for any random mobs that he might have tagged before hand but no mob spawns were even close in the open field we were in. Similar events happened where people would just get up before even using any of their abilities without any mobs around for them to possibly rally off of. Its starting to annoy me and after asking around I heard from other people in my server that they had seen it too. What the hell is this bug if it is a bug at all?

Charr are bad for jumping puzzle, and their legs are too small, making legs armors a bit dull.
But on the other side, male humans look like young teenagers or cherubs, and that’s even worse if you put a beard on them, because it will look like a totally fake beard.

So, I guess you can just flip a coin.

Well there’s also a 12% damage bonus for full adrenaline trait, 5% bonus damage vs weakened foes which Hammer is one of the few weapons for Warrior that applies weakness, 10% damage to bleeding foes which can be applied via critical hits and a few other traits that’d mostly be exclusive between builds that slather bonus damage over all but we’re keeping the comparison simple for you unless you want to try counting all the extras on both sides.

PS: What trait is there for Guardian that gives you 10% damage bonus for attacking a foe with a condition? I only see a 10% bonus for attacking burning foes in particular…

Ah, nvm, I found it. The wiki page doesn’t have all the traits listed for specific condition effects so had to dig some more.

Guardians get 10% when not full endurance while warriors get 3%… lol.

3% seems to be the warriors favorite number!

and btw a warrior never wins in a damage contest because every other class can mitigate or avoid that damage 100% better than the warrior can. The guardian has some of the most powerful auto attacks in the game to boot so its not just thieves that will out DPS a warrior unless you are dumb enough to stand in a 100% crit 100B as a glass cannon. (without 100B almost every class can out DPS warrior)

alright thanks for the advice I think I might actually go for some cavalier stuff and see how that works out and try the toughness oriented skilltree. still a little scared for PVE since I dont want too much aggro but then again my guardian should have more than me and with all the heals he can dish out if i do get aggro for a little while I should be able to live through it. If I find myself getting just way too much aggro I will just wait for some valk ascendeds to come out and take another whack at this build (just realized there are no valk ascendeds lol) Suggestions are still greatly appreciated

You can’t compare weapon skills. You can’t even compare weapons. They’re completely different classes. With different skills, and traits, and class mechanics…

OMG, why doesn’t the ranger’s shortbow #1 bounce from target to target like the Thief’s!? Or why is the Necro’s Staff #2 a “one time pop” thing instead of a continuous DoT like Ele’s fire attuned staff!?

Yes, the Warrior’s hammer has issues – it’s a low DPS, low mobility, “high risk/low reward” weapon that relies almost entirely on one mechanic that’s relatively easy to hard counter – stun locking.

Yes, the Warrior in general has issues – Early in the game’s “released life” (possibly even during the betas) they were neutered out of a LOT of their burst damage and they haven’t been adequately compensated in the survivability aspect.

No, this has nothing to do with specific weapon skills relative to similar weapons in a completely different kittening class. They are different kittening classes. You can’t look at individual skills, or even entire weapons, in a vacuum.

so you are saying that flat upgrades in every way shape of form are inadmissible? tell me again. If you can look at two of the exact same “functioning abilities” and flatly say well that one is obviously 100% better because it has X more damage, X more range and X more effects then there is something wrong. If you people want change and destroy every comparison post out of ignorance then you will not get your changes. If I can say Im rerolling on guard because the hammer on the guardian is a flat upgrade in every way then I prove my point with every person that follows in my footsteps or has switched before I have.

When I first started my warrior I was aiming towards knights and valk gear, but IMO from experience, I think it’s better to trait more defensively and gear offensively. Most of your defense is gonna come utilities and skills more than toughness and vitality. I run the same weapon set with full berserker gear, but I go 0/10/20/20/20 picking up traits for a more defensive setup. Conditions and burst isn’t really a problem, the only thing that is a problem is healing, but I think that applies for the warrior in geaneral.

would you say that with the 0 in strength you dont notice a lack of damage at all? I contemplated that but was turned off from the 10% less damage on the 100% crit on the axe. I definitely will keep this trait setup in mind because it incorporates the hammer like I wanted to and I can use a sword in WvW with a warhorn and in dungeons i can grab an axe instead of the hammer and maybe put another 10 in precision instead of toughness to get the rifle aswell. Thanks for the insight

And the entire class, and class mechanics, and traits… etc.

Comparing individual skills across classes is generally regarded as a “not very bright” move for a reason.

I know, I wasn’t knocking on you, I was knocking on the OP. Merely using your post as a segway.

While im completely aware Im comparing two different professions I chose those skills for good reason. Perhaps I can make you see things in a different light. The warrior #2 IMO is damage and the guardian #2 is once again IMO damage based. both are used for the same purpose of dealing an AOE damage affect to enemies right? Ring of warding is seen by many as the best CC ability the game has to offer so backbreaker, a CC ability with the same slot (#5 which is supposed to be the strongest ability with the reasoning that it has the longest CD most of the time) why would you possibly need a skill that never hits and has the main purpose of the knockdown CC when the guardian is obviously superior in every way? The guardian is supposed to be a support so why are they getting boons, damage and better cc than us? It just doesnt add up right? In a situation where two “similar” (i say this because they are both melee class and heavy, based around leeroy jenkensing into everything) combine that with a similar weapon (hammer war vs. hammer guard) and you have a comparison that is not as far off as you thought at first. It might just be me but I dont want to come off as ignorant of what Im talking about.

I’m not really sure what you are going for here. I only took a quick glance, but one thing that popped out to me was your crit chance. I’m not sure how accurate the display is to the right but it shows 34.86% so we will round up to 35. So assuming you have fury, that puts you at 55%. I’m assuming Unsuspecting Foe will be used to setup your Eviscerate so that gives you 105% chance to crit your evis. Add to that you went an additional 5 into Arms so your Evis has a 115% chance to crit on a stunned foe. What I don’t get with this is, are you trying to setup your bursts? Or are you trying to have a good stable crit rate? or both? My rule of thumb is that anything which pushes your crit rate over 100% is waste.

If you are trying to have a stable crit rate and land killer bursts, you should shift the last five points from Arms into Discipline and pickup Heightened Focus. After the precision loss, you will still gain a steady ~7% chance to crit on full adrenaline bursts annnnnd other attacks… plus another 5% crit damage. Granted, you will still have some overkill on your bursts but your steady rate sees a significant improvement.

I have tons more to say depending on what you are building for. I just suggested the above because I assumed you are going for heavy bursts and a decent crit rate.

As a side note, my personal preference is not to run vitality. I run some Valk stuff because my crit rate sits at 70% and 90% with Fury (WvW) and 15 into Arms gives me guaranteed crits on my eviscerate so I have some stat points to play with and don’t want to sacrifice power or crit damage. So anyway, the point I wanted to make is that vitality is a 1-time-use stat. However, power, precision, and toughness contribute throughout the fight. Once that HP is gone those points in vitality are worthless, unless you want a massive HP pool… but no true healers in this game negates, to a degree, the advantages seen in past titles of having a gigantic HP pool. It is great for surviving burst, but you are already running shield and Endure Pain for that… so ask yourself, do you really need that vitality? Or would some Cavaliers suit you better? Or possibly another route.

the thought with vitality over toughness is there for a couple reasons. for one, vit counters conditions, something warriors have trouble with already. The second point is that it is mass speculated that increasing armor increases your aggro (many other factors but toughness is one of them) so I dont want to pull aggro away from someone in pve by having too much toughness

I need you guys to help the warrior community. I know we complain I know we need love but the sad truth is that we need some major fixing to be done to us. If you guys cant acknowledge that through player experiences than please at least address these 100% absolute numbers

devs. please this is unacceptable to not give us a sound reason why these numbers are how they are. how is the guardian allowed to have higher damage, larger aoe, A LEAP, and a blast finisher on an ability that compares to ours with less damage and weakness which just so happens to be next to useless (I know you have addressed the weakness problem and Im sure many hammer warriors and mace warriors are grateful)

Now this is kind of insulting. for a mere 10 seconds more in CD (less considering 20% CDR affects 40 more than 30) you get an ability that can trap over 5 guys since it doesnt follow the 5 man max AOE law and you keep them trapped for 5 seconds along with a beautiful light field. The warriors “version” of the #5 hammer skill is a single target attack that actually has a HIGHER cast time than ring of warding and only knocks down for 2 seconds with no other effect. Once again Anet we as hammer warriors just want answers. why does it feel like we are being punished for having earthshaker on the hammer? I mean Its a great skill but its OUR f1 skill, the guardian has 3 f skills but they arent being punished for it. Not everyone wants you to go the whole nine yards and overhaul the warrior. some of us just want our weapons to be balanced with the other classes. (yea go ahead and nerf 100B or buff AI dodging mechanics idc about the GS) Anet you have a great game please dont kill the warrior off and make us all roll as guardians. If I dont get a response im going to do what im sure hundreds of other warriors before me have done and reroll as guardian. But know this Anet, rerolling doesnt fix this problem. It just means we were so fed up that we couldnt play our favorite class anymore.

My guildy and I thought long and hard how to make the most deadly and balanced warrior for both higher level PVE as well as WVW. We decided that knights would be the best start seeing as it gives both damage and good protection. I figured that if I was going to be in a small group I would need a bit of both. While I do love being invincible with the shout tank build and pvt gear I just got bored of that flavor and I just wanna be able to slap some kids on an open field with my team or have a reliable and tough build for fractals and arah. Any comments, concerns or ways to make this build better would be much appreciated, also if you can find a way to effectively incorporate the hammer into this lattice that would be great cause I love me my hammertime

sidenote. notice that I can effectivly have 100% uptime on fury so my crit chance is much higher than it appears to be. also, the first trait in precision should be unsuspecting foe but i changed it because it incorrectly shows your crit chance as +50%

funny enough i love using the GS because i just zip in and out of the fight, 100B him when i get frenzy up inbetween his deadly auto attacks, switch to gun if i get low and if his defiant stacks are down i might even try and stop him from spinning for more DPS gain

if we had a 3rd weapon slot i can see it being OP unless there was a restriction. it had to be ranged and it had an unchangeable 10 second CD when you switch off of it (you can switch between the two other weapons to whatever trait/runes you have affecting that)

streamlining traits to make them at par with other classes traits ESPECIALLY in our grandmaster trees which ATM is a silly joke

balancing out control weapons in pve to make them more useful and more mobile. IE adding a non adrenaline fueled gapcloser for the hammer and mace (axe would be OP with a gapcloser unless it was in the offhand 4 which needs some love badly)

eviscerate has 1200 range and hits all enemies in 120 range of target.
staggering blow acts as axe 5 with knockback instead
backbreaker is a blast combo finisher and ALSO a leap finisher, leaps for 900 range and hits enemies in a 120 range AOE
Axe 3 pulls enemy to you, if they have stability or no target ikitten you leap to location instead
frenzy no downside effect 40 second CD aswell
berzerkers stance lasts 20 seconds and has a 25 second CD
every tick of adrenaline you get gives you 1 condition removal
“For great shake it on my mark” uses every shout in one ability on a 20 second CD
hammer auto dazes for .1 second at end of chain.
all hammer abilities have 40% reduced CDs
warriors have every physical utility on their f2,3,4,5 bars respectively.

Sad thing is that If warriors were given one or two of the slightly more serious ones, it wouldnt even be OP…

As long as they make Attunement cool-down go from 60% to 3% to match warriors brawn and make it 20s to match current weapon cool-downs. (so it would go down to 19s per attunement.)

You always bring a lot of good ideas to the table. But please remember to decrease recharges of all weapons skills by 50% and increase damage done by them by 100%.

make the hammer for the warrior on par with the guardian hammer. its unacceptable that we have a 9 second CD on our 2 traited when guards have 5 seconds untraited PLUS its an aoe blast finisher. Staggering blow needs to be changed to suit the warrior in more situations.

another thing. we should have an f2 skill that should be our physical utility. so we can choose stomp, kick, bolas or BC for some flavor while retaining all our much needed utility.

Anets idea of buffing warrior
-multiple bug fixed that actually helped the warrior like the bug where you could use bladetrail backwards.
-we are still currently looking at fixing the bugs on ES rush and BC due to the fact the —warrior could be injuring some of our superior professions if we fix these things.
-We are BUFFING frenzy on a warrior but because that would make it in line with the other quickness boons we have to buff the other classes aswell.
-we are putting 3% extra damage per boon on targets as a grandmaster trait in the line that gives you 3% BURST DAMAGE THAT NOBODY TRAITS TO MAX!

do you really want to see ANet try and “buff” the warrior? We will probably end up with us not even being viable in PVE and a fat nerf to our base stats…

Adding Utility to Under-Used Skills (PvP)

1. The reason most people don’t use Stomp is because of the long cooldown, and the fact it can be so easily negated with a dodge/block/balance/etc.

2. Berserker stance is garbage, but if you want a signet that refills your adrenaline instantly then use Signet of Fury. It already does that.

3. I agree Throw Bolas is hard to land, but changing it to a pull wouldn’t be a Bola. However, I do really like the idea of a long range pull ability like harpoon on land.

4. Shouts and banners are often used in pvp. A lot of shout builds utilize the healing trait and are very effective already. Banners just got a buff and are often seen in WvW.

WHAT BUFF? they are still on par with signets statwise. Anet cleverly buffed banners before to make it seem like warriors were getting buffed when it was really just to make banners not completely useless when they introduced their next patch

based on the information given and observing the build I can safely assume the build is as follows.
Valk armor with zerker or knights accessories.
traits:
0 Strength
10 Arms; IV
20 Defense; II, X
20 Tactics; VI, VIII
20 Brawn; VI (not sure on this one but I know its not sweet revenge)
Overall. this is purely a solo build and IMO you might aswell glass it and get more survivability through the fact they gonna be dead before they can react. This build has more sustain but I dont see that sustain being useful for whakittens made for.

I run with four runes of sanctuary and two rune of water with a traited warhorn. Instead of 5s of protection every 90s I have at least 6s of protection every 30s, with the possibilty of more from converting vulnerability to a boon.

how do you get protection? sanctuary gives chill duration/boon duration and warriors have no native way of getting prot. care to explain if this is a typo or am i not getting something here?

Frapsed @ 60 FPS

369-249 = 120 frames

120F/60FPS = 2s

Could not confirm this bug.

Hammer seriously need some form of blind-immunity, at least for AoE attacks, especially Earthshaker.

Blind has a 50% chance to fail?

chance isnt balance. Crit pushes it in a competitive game we dont need more chances. (like the terribad zerk only crit based sigils)

I know why they exist but seriously. this severely kittens over CC based weapons like the hammer on the warrior or the guardians hammer. Shouldnt we be rewarded upon removing stacks of defiant rather than getting a single .25 interrupt that just gets recasted? When we remove defiant stacks it should 100% crit them or something awesome to make us want to use the CC weapons on bosses. also when the stacks go down there should be a small timeframe where they are completely venerable to stuns and DONT instantly recast their abilities. lets try to drop tank and spank because its obviously not fun… You know there is a problem when control abilities do less than snares to a boss.

Situational skills = wasted skills. hammer 4 does more harm than good in most situations. ESPECIALLY in pve. The control aspect of the hammer needs to be reworked for PVE. the main root of evil is defiant stacks being such a kittenty system to work with when your weapon relies on smacking them crapless and defiant makes them immune to be smacked crapless and promotes tank and spank.

idk. sounds balanced in my eyes. IF you have a reasonable CD of 1.5 mins or so. (lets not forget guardians can give themselves every boon in the game for 11 seconds then convert all the conditions they ripped from allies into boons on themselves in a matter of seconds)

I seriously dont see a problem with mobs having to take the whole stun duration to the face. Its not that difficult to implement a diminishing returns to prevent mob stunlocking and It would cross out 2 of the 3 categories for viability.

Final Thrust (Sword’s ‘3’) should be an interrupt, IMO.

umm. no hammer auto attack should interupt at the end of the chain but the chain should be 4 long.

Both would be terribly overpowered. Stop spouting nonsense.

because a dodge on 3rd chain is balanced right? How terrible it would be for hammers to be able to remove defiant stacks or punish idiots who stand in your punishment distance for 2 whole seconds

i know what i said, i said it was border line op not completely op in wv3 . i still stand by that statement, Fb, BB , ES all can crit for over 10k + while BB and ES are CC abilities. staggering blow should be able to be used on the move or change the ability all together.

I know. Ive seen your videos and Im a fan but in all honesty do you really think you can pull any of that stuff off in anything other than WVW? in pve enemies cheat the CC system and in tpvp zerker is extrememly UP since it only has around a 50% crit chance (even with unsuspecting foe it doesnt proc off knockdowns/backs)

Its even less viable if you are trying to use it as a main weapon in WVW zergs (not roaming) without having to swap to a GS to get any damage output after the initial ES.
On a lighter note I actually laughed abit when I realized in your videos I had a similar Spvp build to what you use for WVW and I can tell you its significantly less “OP” in Spvp and significantly more borderline viable. In WVW I can only imagine it would be good for roaming though I cannot say much more since I havent tried… yet.

Mobile strike does not make you immune. It just removes on skill use. immune would imply you couldn’t be immobilized. Warhorn is no offensive (Weakness I guess) and passive defense (movement impair clean and vigor generation).
Shield is offensive and active defense (blocking).

Thruth is hammer is super strong in WvW.

Some weapons are good in PvE, some in PvP and some in WvW. None are good everywhere. So if you don’t like the hammer in PvE, than simply don’t use it.

Buffing hammer would make it to strong in WvW.

I cant possibly see buffing the hammer by bug fixing and making it more in line with its purpose will make it OP. MOMMY HIT HIT ME WITH HIS HAMMER BECAUSE MY ZERG IS TO STUPID TO USE STABILITY! NOW WE GOT PORTAL BOMBED WAHH!!! The hammer has so many counters. bugs and crap skill cast times shouldnt be among them.

You fail to see the point. The trait doesnt work half the time. its buggy and bad. I have mashed buttons like a kittening kitten 10 year old hoping that it will proc and yet im standing in place taking the full force on like 3 different AOES

I use banners myself but I feel left out that Anet hyped banners getting a buff then they just turned around AND kittenING BUFFED SIGNETS! Banners are clunkier, need 2 traits to be useful to your team and quite frankly i want that extra 1500 hp and 1 condition removal every 24 seconds from on my mark. I rolled banners before because it was better for my team, now its just starting to seem like a minor MINOR improvement when everyone already has their own personal banner buff.

nope you’re not over thinking it , traits are worthless and this proffession was designed to be a PvE one , 100b is just useless and if u compare it to mesmer’s F skill (forgot which slot it is but its similar to 100b + an invulnerable effect) its just non sense

Funny story ! You’re talking about the OH sword skill 2. Which have a longer CD than HB, do, by far, less damage and grant, yes a 2s evade. By the way, on the same CD, GS warrior have whirlwind attack that grant them evade, combo finisher, movement and do damage. All classes have their strengh and their flaw. Just cope with it. There’s no point in being jealous of what other classes have and warriors don’t, because there are things that warriors have and other classes don’t. For exemple, as a Necromancer, I’d be dead jealous of warriors mobility and stun locking hability.

By the way from what i’ve seen, all class have traits that are more or less worthless But that may be good in specific builds. And well… 1 more second of endure pain may save your life in a WvW zerg

He means for PVP. 100B is more useless than throwing rocks in downed state against an enemy with half a brain. And are you serious… warriors dont even have the best stun lock in the game. Ive been knocked around senseless by kittening rangers who have more dazes, knockbacks and stuns than I did with my hammer. And are you kittening kidding me. If you use increased stance duration over either embrace the pain or dogged march you obviously dont know what you are talking about and therefore shouldn’t be taken seriously at all. Good day sir.

So it was bothering me for a while now but I just recently felt like I was going to get off my lazy kitten and point out the ever so obvious fail. It says the very first point in this overview that warriors are the masters of weapory. By that logic shouldnt their skills be superior at close ranges to other classes? I mean seriously some of the abilities are completely outdone by classes that shouldnt even be in melee range. Take the rangers swoop for example. 100% better than rush in every kittening way. Flurry on a messie? naw warriors get riposte… I mean for god sake the rangers maul is on like a 4 second CD and deals more damage + bleeds compared to the warriors GS burst skill. Second line. Warriors rely on speed. If that is so why are we the slowest class with the slowest cast times on all our abilities? why do we have no access to vigor and only have swiftness on one single elite, no signets improving our movespeed and the EASIEST abilities to dodge in the entire game? Il fix this for you Anet.

Warriors are masters of being kited to kitten who rely on bulls charge a terribad frenzy and zero condition removal, to be cannon fodder for all other races. Adrenaline fuels their 10% damage and crit change buff going unused for the entire fight. The longer warriors stay in the fight the more they are kited and bled to death by conditions.
