O.O These guys have already run the numbers a bajillion times…should we call them out to once again show you the math?

brazil didnt math anything out, he cant even divide 25/2.
as for nike, he does his rotation incorrect, which equates to him getting wonky auto attacks in where he should not be. he directly contradicts himself aswell in this video. he states empower allies was a 5-7% dps boost and without it, that is lost. in his previous video he states 30 25 0 0 15 (which has not been changed at all) had a total of around 7% dps less than 30 0 0 10 30. therefore without it the best 30 25 0 0 15 can do is equal the same dps before taking into account the higher RNG base of the build, as well as the fact that empower or rending strikes can be taken in 30 10 0 030 or 30 0 0 10 30 in order to increase the DPS beyond the maximum of 30 25 0 0 15. yes they are wrong. If you want to say im wrong all I have done is quote these two so by that logic you disprove their credibility.

I dont want a single person coming in saying 30 25 0 0 15 because frankly your wrong. I want people who know what they are talking about and have the math to prove it.

now we have cleared that up, since the empower allies nerf a while back, is it now higher dps to run 30 10 0 0 30 taking rending strikes, or still 30 0 0 10 30 but empowered instead of empower allies? This is bugging me for a while and I want to know if anyone has mathed it out.

Every other melee weapon has a cleave which hits 3 and does more damage overall than hammer (except maybe sword). Hammer only has 2 AOE bursts (last of chain and f1). If you want damage greatsword and axe are much better

no and no. lol you state 2 dps weapons not 2 burst weapons. axe is only single target burst because eviscerate does not cleave. Hammer has a much wider cleave radius on many of its skills, IE number 2 and number 4. it seems anet wants bursting to only be possible in an AOE if its a condi burst

Ok. ill take the damage. you can remove the 2 second stun from my earthshaker and il take the same damage with a 50% increased crit chance on my next attack (or not idgaf) What anet is saying about separating damage from control is dumb because warriors have no other weapon to deal damage. the hammer is popular to some people because it hits hard not because of the stun. once the patch comes around what AOE burst weapon will hit hard for the warrior? none. there is no choice to be made, its simply removing an build and pushing us to condi spec or full tank.

hes easier to do in pve/wvw cause you can get the norn t2 helm, the starting shoulders (fanatics mantle) and toss a bunch of other stuff on and you got thor. for spvp it seems a little more difficult

honestly I see these poor guardians and I cant help but think that you guys get shafted hard for mobility. the only class without access to some type of perma swiftness or 25% movespeed (minus traveler runes) frankly I dont find the guardian class all that strong and I feel for you guys

Honestly I wouldnt lol. If I could get the same effects as unsuspecting foe (100% chance to crit in my case on earthshaker) and the subsequent attack had a 100% chance to crit I wouldnt give a good god kitten if it was a stun at all. I dont even care about BB for god sake! Does anyone else feel like hammer just assumes the role of the only decent AOE burst damage weapon we have and it just happened to have control as well?

How in the kitten do zerker warriors manage to stay ALIVE?! I mean, cripes. I’ve done dozens of dungeons (mostly as a bunker shout tank) and while I can appreciate that being a pure dps glass cannon has intricacies associated with it that I may need to learn through playing, I still don’t understand how most zerker warriors can live long enough to get through a boss fight without getting downed, much less make use of scholar runes or stacking sigil bonuses.

When you run the dungeons and you play a tanky character, you can eat attacks. That means you are never forced to learn the boss animations and timings. On the other hand when you play a berserker build, you cannot eat boss attacks so you must learn the animations and timings in order to dodge.

In short, now you have to actually learn the dungeon encounters and practice damage mitigation.

dont be discouraged at first. it takes time and effort. I suggest the OP heal sig because it allows your scholar runes to almost always be active and you never have to break off to heal. Never go in first and always try to stand behind where the boss/group of mobs are unless you have a more organized group (standing behind means they wont cleave you by accident)

after anet just said warriors should be allowed to deal massive damage or control well but not do it in one build it got me thinking. I dont give a kitten about the stun on hammer. I just wanted to hit hard and be tanky. warriors really do lack an AOE melee weapon once hammer gets nerfed into a control weapon only. Wouldnt it be kitten sick if we got a great axe that did what the hammer didnt? instead of stunning, it chained attacks, giving you more and more damag as you hit and cleaved people but had no control. simply a damage based weapon. might stacking on auto attacks and plenty of AOEs and cleave attacks that makes us who like to hurt people feel good without being branded a stunlock kitten.

1. auto chain: 850, 900, 1100 grant 1 stack of might for 7 seconds (same attack speed as hammer)
2. Cleave: slash in a 180 degree cone causing vuln 1,188; CD 5 seconds
3. executioners strike: rush at target area dealing more damage if they are below 50% HP(1,037/2,074); CD 10 seconds (600 range, 100 area; leap finisher)
4. vicious upercut: uppercut foe with extreme force and gain might 1,200 1 might for 7 seconds per enemy hit; CD 15 seconds
5. Sweeping axe: throw your axe on a chain 600 units out, pulling enemies hit by it back to you. 1000; CD 25 seconds (physical projectile)
f1. guillotine: leap in the air and send axe down in front of you cleaving all enemies in around. 1000/1250/1,500; CD 10 seconds (400 range, 180 area; blast)

what do you guys think? cool weapon, OP weapon or just a meh weapon? I personally love the playstyle of getting in their face and hitting hard and would love to see the trait tied to it be a +20% crit damage when using a great axe, reduce great axe skills CD by 20% or something along those lines. of course put in defense master beside hammer so nobody can run both of them without suffering a bit.

keep in mind if he is running mobile strikes, id suggest either destruction of the empowered or signet master over mobile strikes seeing as your mobile skills arent exactly long reaching (definitely use against engis tho)

The runes are anyones guess. could be melandru, holbraek, hell maybe even divinity. its too hard to tell but all are solid choices. overall this build is really great for solo roaming but dont expect to run away from any zergs anytime soon. This is a fight to the death like a boss build or die with honour. This aint no GS runaway poop…

I just did my own take on this build and won a 5v1. JESUS CHRIST ive never seen higher numbers and never has my house been filled with so much screaming as I stomped the last warrior after he attempted to block my 9k backbreaker. its no zergbusting build but it works hella fine in solo roaming

Yes, despite all the “opness” of the new warrior, from time to time I do miss the old days. when a 13% damage boost was only 10 traits away and you still loved the discipline line even tho you cursed the 3% damage every day.
AND THE BEST PART… nobody kittened, moaned or complained about the warrior because everyone you killed felt bad about themselves afterwards…
I miss the last part the best.

-5 sec from CD, +50% heal on activate, -1/3 regen.

So Im a warrior with a Hammer and GS. Pretty much the only class I cannot have any hope of beating in a 1v1 is the scepter torch mesmer. every time I actually manage to deal damage they just poof away and come back at full HP while their clones put like 6 seconds of burning and what not. How the hell do I outplay this. (Im mostly zerker, none of that PVT garbage but its condition damage so armor doesnt even matter just want to point out I have my fair share of damage and still cant put them down before the blink/invis and full hp)

Tuesday night I was bored and decided to play the Mystic Forge game.

I started with ~800 gold.

I got:

What build should I use as a thief to counter stun lock warriors?

s/p build works well aswell but obviously they require actual amounts of skill to be utilized since you cant rely on stealth if you mess up.

I often wonder, having played warrior since release what would be different if rush was a completely different skill. right now its simply a broken runaway tool for bad warriors to escape 1v1s and just plain ol running from that big ol blob in wvw. if rush was an actual useful skill how would it change?
the way I would like to have seen it is as follows
-900 range
-AOE radius
-more reliable to hit (I mean just rework the animation not little polishes)
-25 second CD

obviously there are 2 nerfs here and 2 buffs. a small range nerf to impede running so kitten easily but more combat based buffs allowing it a use as an initiation tool. obviously it needs a higher cd to put it more in line with the eles overnerfed RTL (should be at a 25 second CD flat)

what would you hypothetically wish for in rush if you ever had the chance to change it?
tell me below!!!

the easiest way to beat a warrior in a duel is to keep them at a distance until you burst. you want a fluid in out combat or they will hurt. when they are low you gotta put the pressure on them because they can only regen over time. at around 25% pop a stability and go onto the offense, if you dont have stability, have a contingency plan and attack smart. make sure you bait their dodges and be wary of mace cracks. never dodge roll anything that isnt backbreaker, ES or shieldbash (macecrack is kinda BS and looks like an auto attack which is dumb) as a warrior since launch I have used the exact same tactic on the OP classes before me with great success. I also use this tactic against other warriors to great success. manipulation is key my friend and FOTM warriors are so easily manipulated.

ele: reduce CDs and rework arcane so it has base swap of 10 seconds and replace with something else
engi: wtf engi lol idk
mesmer: anti faceroll mechanic
warrior: nerf heal signet, make rush have lower range but more reliable to hit
guardian: give them more mobility (NOT through boons)
thieves: realize stealth is not a class mechanic and go from there…
rangers: make them only playable in pvp
necro: do nothing

side notes: Instead of condition removal, more condition duration reduction like warriors berserker stance or the soon to be overhauled cleansing fire for guards.

obviously some of this is a joke but try to take the truths out of it

I dont have an ele but I honestly dont get it. eles are not OP right now and they seriously need some major overhauling. Their CDs are twice as long as every other class including engis who can have the same amount of skills as an ele but engis are encouraged to swap back and forth where eles can only go in a straight line, forcing them to rotate each attack before swapping attunements severely limiting their ability to combine devastating combos. What gives? eles could be so boss and honestly id make one and probably plop every second of my time into it if it gave you the reward you deserved for the skill and training you put in.

its been broken for so long its starting to kitten me off. the smashing air, the extended wait time from when you cast it to when it actually launches you, the random teleports and complete overshots of the target. ITS SO ANNOYING! for all I care nerf skull crack and healing signet back into the ground I just want my abilities to work the way they were intended.

shields make you take more aggro. the only time anyone should use a shield is in a lupi fight. if you are tired of GS maybe try axe/mace + GS 30 0 0 10 30. its far superior in DPS than pure GS builds and you dont look like a total noob to people who know what they are doing.

does anyone else think we should have the ability to remove our sigils from our legendaries without destroying them so that we can truly have one weapon for everything? it kitten es me off that if I wanted to go for twilight next, I would have to use a different GS for PVE since I want a sigil of battle for WVW and a sigil of night for pve. Maybe anet has thought of this and they were definitely on the right track with the ability to swap out stats out of combat!

Conditions are plenty OP in WVW and pvp. why not stick to where they work instead of expecting them to be better than power builds in every single aspect of the game. there is a reason zerker deals more damage. its called conditions are 1 stat zerker takes 3. now kitten and go stack some more defense and zerg around for 5 hours.
