Engies are rly tough to beat, but as a guardian you should not be losing to them. If you are dueling try changing your utils around to best match your situation, not blindly go with (just an example: save yourselves, stand your ground, judges intervention) adapting is key. I have both a guard (which is almost 80 therefore I wont base much off him) and a warrior that is 80. On my warrior I can beat an engie or another guardian not because I keep trying after maybe one initial loss, but because I learn how to play them where as many people keep trying to do the same thing. Guardians have many options to choose from in their utilities, so explore them. you may find a pattern. For instance. I found that when fighting guardians with a GS and X it suits me best to use signet of stamina on my warrior over lets say another signet. As you are fighting an engie you want to look at what they are going to be most likely using based on what you see. for engies I keep constant pressure and stability along with saving one dodge roll at all times for that supply drop.

I could beat my level 80 geared warrior with my level 60 guard wielding a sword and shield any day of the week. Sword chain 3 on the guard his like a truck and zealots defense is so powerful AND it rotates you in the direction of the target (PLUS ITS RANGED) tell me how this weapon with a blind, a truck like auto attack and a super fast channel that protects you from projectiles briefly is bad? PLZ I WANNA KNOW!! you can always take one stack of bleed and a mediocre auto attack with a decent leap and a cripple that hits for pathetic damage. There is a reason the warriors swords need a buff, not the guardians. If you are experiencing weak damage output might I suggest stop going full bunker? My two cents

got the food in too. hope i didnt miss anything. The Signet is purely preference and I find can be switched out with any of them (cept yak sig) without seeing to much of a change. (for instance I use stamina against guards with GS and hammer while reserving might and fury for other scenarios)Looks very solid, all I would suggest is changing Sigil of Fire to Sigil of Impact on Hammer. Also take the 10 in arms and put it into Discipline for Destruction of the Empowered. Try to tweak with your first utility a bit to find what your comfortable with and if you decide to go without a signet there lose Signet Mastery.
ah yes the never ending discussion of sigil of fire over impact. I have tried both, fire is simply the one im using at this very moment still cant decide if I notice any major differences between the two
Never understood why Elementalists get a 60% attunement swap CD reduction almost a game breaking buff when combined with Elemental Attunement, and what do we get? +3% Burst Damage… We never stood a chance.
I reckon get rid of it completely, crit damage is for multiplying our damage, not this nonsense. We should have a similar trait line buff as the Elementslist:
1% is not far enough, +2% Burst skill CD reduction for each point.
This combined with a reworked adrenalin system (adding F2-F4) and then maybe, just maybe we will see Warriors competing against the best..Sorry but… Crit Damage does not go in Defence, it is a complete contradiction. If a Warrior wants to go all damage then let them, also a Warrior wanting to bunker up (possibly an option in the future) now has unnecessary crit damage or some easily exploitable Stun -> Crit nonsense.
guardians have toughness and crit damage in same tree. I think cavalier is a great way to build.

wow, looked at all the builds hes sharing and just wow. Those are definately not going to do much for anyone if you solo or small group roam.
there is 1 “Best build” for warriors in all situations for WvW. Patch might alter it a bit but all the builds he is posting will not beat it. You can always duel me on YB if youd like to see just how much each of those would fail. Whisper Bi Furious if youre up against us.

We have all been waiting patiently but does anybody know when the hell this thing is actually gonna kick off if at all? i mean honestly im getting tired of seeing new lvl 80s pop 4 random yellows and pull a friken 600 gold item out of their kitten . Anet you said you would be rewarding skill. How is that skill? despite what people say thief is more than proficient for pve as long as you dont roll with speedrun pugs. Having said that it all comes down to what you think you would like more. take a look at the forums. Lots of ppl complain about warriors being weak. Then take a look a the thief forums lots of ppl complain that thieves need higher survivability (personally i think they are crap players but thats my opinion)
with crack shot on a rifle you do not penetrate your target if they are targeted. you must click on a target behind them to hit both. Instead the bullet should always travel its max range before being destroyed and if it hits a reflection ability and has already hit a target it should not bounce back but instead ignore the ability and the user of said ability.
as it is right now, the warriors have some of the worst synergizing maintraits in their tree.

no arguments here, my quarrel lies with the terribly designed tree within it (honestly you cant spec a warhorn AND shouts let alone a kitteng banner at the same time. quick breathing should cover both shout CD and warhorn CD and the condition conversion should be for shouts aswell to avoid the soldier rune pigeon hold BS)

make a new line and FIX brawn to its previous glory (or even half for Balthazar sake). the new line could be CDR on burst skills. 1% each point spent adding up to 30% at the max level. combined with burst mastery warriors could get a 50% reduc on burst cooldown but it will cause them to sacrifice other traits and utils to get the adren they need to maintain that 3 bar burst every 5 seconds (if it turns “OP” nerf some of the adren building traits) keep in mind the 50% CDR is only available with grandmaster AND traited. otherwise the highest you can get is 20% which is fair IMO
Combined with the rework on other warrior traits that were promised to come, the warriors burst may actually be useful and insanely deadly. Hell it might be able to compete with thieves backstab :S

If he is channeling and invul, my best bet is he is using his elite. If he is using shouts and recovering from CC, he is most likely running soldier runes. Fighting a guardian, especially a tanky one by the looks of it, personally, ya gotta prolong the fight. Usually be aggressive and time your attacks.
I might be the first to say, try guardians out.
no hes using his 6 heal. block while healing, normally I telegraph after that he pops his elite and becomes invuln again.
In the eviscerate instructional video the attack has no CD so obviously somewhere along the lines Anet kittened the pooch. pls make videos showcasing your skills accurate next time plox. il take my 600+ hours back of being LIED to now

when you say watch his animations. how do I go about this. His channel heal (thankfully the weaker one) has invuln on cast so I can say goodbye to interrupting it, Many of his boons come from shouts which can be casted regardless of CC state. Im really just lost on how to control them considering they have so much ways to bypass it. Lets not forget us warriors have no access to poison to kitten their heals up

why would you make an arena type game with an auto targeted attack as your main weapon. it makes no sense it should be about skill not mindless spamming of 1 to win. If the attack isnt bugging out which it does half the time its making impossible shots and the animation is not even close to the character when they move… WHY the bomb should have been the 1 skill

The stupid situation anet have put themselves in by giving thieves invisibility that goes against what the game mode is about is just plain dumb. since so many ppl rely on it thieves cannot be given higher survivability. I can say this however. stealth is not being used as intended and it is causing MAJOR issues with the thief. mainly those who want to rely less on it and more on evasion and other abilities.

I have never once had an issue identifying any mods tell when it was about to do something massive, boss or otherwise.
The only time this is an issue is in open world against normal sized bosses because you can’t actually see them, let alone their tells. But in a dungeon with a limit of four other people it’s very difficult to put enough particle effects on them to block their tells.
As far as I’m concerned anyone who complains about this subject just isn’t observant enough and is simply complaining about their own shortcomings, not any lack in the actual game.
Ok, I watched the videos after replying and all I can say is, those were both TERRIBLE fights. Please tell me you’re not trying to claim that GW2 should actually be like that.
you knitpicked a little too much there. What I took out of it and agree with is that sometimes the red AOE circles are kind of lame and the hit radius is not much better. I dont mind the tells on the massive bosses (world bosses need to be harder IMO) but it would be nice to see some movement away from the red circles…
I don’t think meta event bosses have an aoe limit. What a lot of them do have are scripted attacks. They pay very little attention to players, if any at all.
Now, if you want a challenge, try a few Temples. Melandru is will make you his kitten. Grenth will molest your inner child, put you in a dress and then sell you to Melandru. Lyssa will make you, Melandru and Grenth bend over, grab your ankles and LIKE IT!
I do all temples with my guild every friday night before reset :S They arent particularly difficult either (cept that kitten NPC defense)

fix your kittening crap anet this has been bugged for so god kitten long thakittens not even funny. This ability shouldnt be just upon skill use because why the hell should you take it while channeling a movement skill. you are still in motion and seriously mobile strikes is the only way a warrior stands a chance at escaping. you cant kitten us on the only trait that helps us escape.
It was a good duel with a Mesmer. The Warrior ate a full stun lock and died before the Mesmer was even using clones and actually attacking…. not a 2v1.
Not Poxheart video is a true 3v1, and a good one at that. At around 0:35 is where they actually start to attack him.

nice. Im trying out a similar build but im rolling knights armor and cav accessories. Not sure I like the lyssa spike just due to the nature of having such a small window to deal some crazy damage. Might roll melandru runes since I have the precision from knights already. Love the sword and board tho

Scorpion wire has a 30 second CD and 1200 range pull
BC has a 40 second CD and 900 (i think) buggy 2 second knockdown gapcloser
If BC had a 30 second CD it would be balanced with the wire IMO
Bolas are buggy as kitten and literally miss every kittening time. otherwise it would be balanced
stomp needs some different effects like unblockable and breaks stun so that you can pop it in clutch situations like many other classes can pop their abilities in clutch situations aswell.

Well over 100% crit chance with unsuspecting foe and no merciless hammer leads me to believe you are rellying more on GS for killing which doesn’t work out too well in WVW personally I find speccing defensively Is more rewarding with knights/valk(or cavalier)

Ironically the Sword auto has a higher base damage than the Warrior’s GS auto (I didn’t believe this myself until I took a look).
yea I decided to roll a troll thief and after running around completely naked in WVW for a bit I realized I was actually kicking more kitten with the sword on this level 2 thief than I could with my warrior. I loled a bit
yup thieves will be even more insane if you thought the LS stealing our only good elite was bad say goodbye to ever doing enough damage to them in the small openings you have.

3 bar: heals 120 + (0.12 * Healing Power) per secondI have to say no to this. Throw up a full Healing Power Warrior and your numbers end up as 1200/240/288 hp/s.
Also, I hope it’s a typo, because it doesn’t really make sense that 3 bars heals for more than 2. Especially not if your hope is to make people use their Adrenaline.
Also, I think your numbers need revising otherwise as well. 15 into Defense means you have a base of 150 healing. So that puts it at 200/115/138 hp/s.
Destruction of the Empowered
Grandmaster trait, discipline tree.
Deal 3% bonus damage per boon on your target.
Heal yourself per hit, per unique boon on the target.At level 80, the amount healed per boon is 49 + 0.01 * Healing Power
This means if the target has 3 boons, you heal for 150 every time you attack him.
This would make multihit attacks way too powerful against someone who has a lot of boons. Zero healing power, full adrenaline Flurry for 5,292 hp? That would doom anyone who happens to use Save Yourselfs or Runes of Lyssa.
couple comments here. first off… dont think its a typo because the entire point is to make ppl spend their adrenaline not pool it. so if you put the highest heal coefficient into the first bar, they cant sit on it and need to use their burst skills to gain sustain.
second issue. he said for each strike of adren you get, +5 endurance. This means every time you get one bar no? (I could just be a blathering idiot ATM) which seems balanced even a little UP.
3rd issue. DoTE is a grandmaster trait. its supposed to destroy the empowered. PVP is about skill so a guardian should be skillful enough to not be an idiot and pop every boon he has if he sees a warrior with DoTE on. The simple fact that a guardian can get every boon in the game is enough to say the warrior should be able to punish them for it considering they are supposed to be able to be even. warrior being more selfish and damage dealing while guardian is selfless and helps others (he is actually more selfish because he hogs his kitten boons!) Note that his revised DoTE doesnt negate protection so guardian is still technically at an advantage. With lyssa runes. the boons are waaaay to short to be made useful by multihitting abilities. and even if they were longer, its called a counter for a reason.
I mean seriously. This gets on my nerves so much that I cant keep quiet about it anymore. World event bosses have gotten so kittening easy thakittens a chore to kill them. Whats the point of having one massive epic boss SCALED up if he can only hit 5 people at a time. Its a complete joke. These bosses should hit everyone and they should definitely not be this freaking boring to fight. I fought teq naked with a kittening pink helmet and didnt down once. AS A WARRIOR. these world bosses, purple, and even champs should not abide by these crappy AOE nerfs because it really just makes these events unrewarding and boring as hell.
It first happened when I attacked a ranger with my friend. We downed him in the middle of an open field. he used his mist form and ran but instead of going back down he came back up fully rallied and RTLed away.
Without a doubt this ranger is hacking.
