its every class, i moved from JQ to HoD because of the server induced lag on all my characters. Its really a pain when you are trying to heal and the little face icon button thingy looks like its laughing at you.

slighly off topic… but i feel bad for you… from JQ to HOD… id love to leave HOD any day. lol

yea what gives. warriors have one good option for support (sword/mace and a warrhorn) but they need to either screw their CD on shouts or not get healing shouts in order to make themselves a support class and they can forget about healing banners. traits need to be combined a bit. quick breathing should be both shouts and warhorn abilities and healing banners should be combined with vigorous shouts. Idk about you but i wouldnt mind running full soldier gear with a sword and a warhorn with a banner of tactics and FGJ with shake it off. We could actually compete with the guardians for support perhaps in a more offensive way…

it also just doesnt work well in general. I mean when you get snared in the middle of a movement ability it doesnt proc and when you use bulls it doesnt proc either. just rly buggy and overall russian roulette when you get snared

I actually have a lvl 80 war 80 ele and 80 guard. no tears over the ele nerf since it did not affect my play style at all. if you look at my posts you will see i comment about the warrior because they do in fact need a pick me up in pvp. Had no complaints about my ele therefore no need to forum rage on em. Its cute how when you insult eles they call you a troll but every other class including the thieves will give evidence to disprove. So sad it really shows the idiots that play FotM builds.
and btw the thing is that eles dont kill me. because they are to busy running away and healing for full hp

This FotM was getting really old anyways. go find a different build that actually has uses and doesnt push out every other class for pvp tanking. complaining because you cant be invincible AND heal to full is lame. wanna do that play guardian. If you want to be an ele then start applying conditions and killing your opponent. Oh and one more thing. dont you dare try to compare the warriors ability to survive/avoid damage to your own. its insulting to eles that understand other classes.

as it stands right now. the warrior has 1 viable build, and 1 semi viable build for tanking. The shout tank:
Not much to be said here. Everyone knows it, everyone is bored of playing it, and honestly it doesn’t bring much to the table
The Banner tank:
Bringing one banner and 2 shouts along with the warbanner (a bit better when specced to it) This build is semi crappy since it overlaps regeneration from stronger sources and you still need to use soldier runes.

Can we please get some buffs to stances in the traitlines making them more viable than these two builds along with making the regen on the banner not a boon but a constant effect like signets? Back to the stances. Can they please give more effects than simple and frankly crappy unsynergyzing effects? Like endure pain procs retaliaton for the duration and heals per second, balanced stance cures a condition every 2-3 seconds while active, berserkers stance grants boon hate for duration and frenzy giving you might per hit until duration ends (upon ending all might stacked from the skill is stripped. This is so that you dont need the GS just to mightstack) I mean something. anything really. At the very least something better than kick would be nice for control too

Seriously what was the point of buffing warriors lol? My Warrior was a god before, and now he’s a super-god. GG Arenanet, thanks for making me even more powerful without any effort on my part.

Might want to take more time looking at the other classes tho lol.

I’m guessing you are talking PvP. Hammer might not be great for PvP but it totally rocks in WvW where it is the warrior’s zerg busting tool of choice.

I guess I wasnt clear when I stated I dont want to use f1 then switch to another melee to do something. Im talking about PVP and PVE.

I think the cooldowns are OK, especially with the unblockable 3 hits we now have possible via Signet of Might. IF you get an opening in which to start the CC chain, it is ruinous, and I don’t think it should be possible to do the chain any more than once every 25 seconds max. It is a great weapon for scaring people to use their stun breakers / stabilities.

That said, with the cast time and poor range of the hammer abilities it is a miracle if you get to do the chain. #4 is the worst with the self root, I almost always end up cancelling it by accident. Then there’s also the inexplicable “MISSED” events with the F1 skill… I hate the hammer.

I agree the CD would not be bad IF the abilities were useful in more situations

just a note, The auto attack frequently bugs out and It says obstructed when clearly no obstruction, same with the 5 skill. Overall the auto aim on the bow really sucks a big one

The sad fact about the hammer is that It has two good abilities and after that Its laughably useless. (2 and 1/2 if you count leg specialist…)

Lets start with a simple breakdown of the skills

Hammer Swing| No effects; 1/2 second cast time; 130 range
Hammer Bash| No effects; 1/2 second cast time; 130 range
Hammer Smash| +100 or so damage increase; 1/2 second cast time; 130 range

First off Im going to start by saying the hammer is one of the only melee weapons in the game without any condition/boon on at least one of the attacks (even ranged weapons have these effects sometimes) 100 damage is so insignificant considering most chain attacks have that anyways combined with a condition/boon

Fierce Blow| Weakness; 3/4s CT; 180 range AOE; 12s CD

Great skill, no complaints here other than its slightly long timers (if the hammers other abilities got “fixed” this would be less noticeable)

Hammer Shock| Cripple; 1/2s CT; 600 range AOE; 12s CD

fairly useless skill unless traited with leg specialist which IMO is sort of a wasted trait considering you can get other more useful traits instead. This ability needs to function more like a AOE boon hate or even have snare without the spec giving it actual purpose other than it being very situational

Staggering Blow| Knockback 3/4s CT(root); 180 range AOE; 20s CD; Whirl finisher

SUCKS! this is by far one of the worst skills of any profession. It totally craps on any teamplay due to the fact its an AOE knockback that is gonna knock them out of anything you blast finished into (if you know how to even hammertime) Id rather see this skill with a .25 second daze on it and not root you instead of this hunk of clunky garbage. The only time i ever find it useful is to remove defiant stacks from a boss. Give it some real use please…

Backbreaker| 2s Knockdown; 1s CT; 130 range; 30s CD

This ability baffles me every time. How in Balthazar name did they get away with putting a 30 second cooldown on a single target knockdown? lets compare this ability to other abilities along these same lines.

Ring Of Warding| (unspecified)Knockdown; 3/4s CT 180 range AOE; 40s CD (duration 5 s); light field

The reason for throwing in the ring of warding and line of warding isnt for the knockdown itself persay, more the fact that It has an entirely different purpose with a built in knockdown AOE into it already. Tremor is the real main focus here. Why is the ability that is 100% more effective than backbreaker located on the warriors mace offhand? Im not saying switch them, but instead, backbreaker should more resemble its single handed counterpart in a role where it will be much more appreciated and effective.

Earthshaker 1-2s Stun; 3/4s CT; 600 range, 240 radius AOE; CD 10s + adrenaline; Blast finisher

Keep in mind this is the adrenaline skill so it was made to be powerful. THIS is why warriors would even bother with the hammer. This skill embodies what the hammer is all about in a fun and powerful way.

Even with Earthshaker and Fierce blow, the hammer cannot be carried with these abilities. The hammer lacks so many viable skills it really sets back anyone trying to get a decent hammer build rolling. Almost every WvW build I see with the hammer simply just uses earthshaker to jump in, backbreaker to stun their single target and HB him to death. IDK bout you guys but thats not the playstyle I want with my hammer. I want to keep it wielded and pound on them with it, not use a crappy GS. Please give me your feedback and tell me what you think about the hammers abilities in an objective manner. (keep in mind hammer is for control therefore damage should not be a main focus on any of these abilities)

QQ i have the most hp and armor in the game and now i want passive heals of a guardian.
Look it up its on par(and better) with every other passive out there-
Ele soothing mist-80hp/s
Guard virtue of resolve 84hp/s
Regeneration 130hp/s
OH noes i have the hp regen of an ele with perma regeneration,the warrior must be the weakest PvE class ever.

Banners should give a different type of regeneration, not a boon. The fact that this constant regeneration is up not only causes problems due to the warrior overlapping the guardians superior regen, but it also can be removed, converted and quite simply destroyed. The idea of giving the group a HoT as well as keeping guardians in the loop with their regens will make a healing banner a lot more viable in pve pushing ppl away from this silly 100B spam. On that note, Warriors need better heals. Where we gain something, I understand we have to lose something aswell. considering this is a proposed change for PVE, the paralleled fix would be to reduce the damage on 100B drastically but removing the root

Dude, guardians were never invincible – just had advantages to make up for having 10k base hp, and about 15k traited. Boon hate sucks balls, and warriors got a bunch of love this patch.

Most powerful (outside of pvp) class gets more powerful, everyone else stays the same. Whee.

wait what? because the warriors got a pvp focused buff they must be op in pve now too? get your head out of your kitten and just leave. Id rather have 10k base hp and 2-3 invincibility, mass healing, protection and retaliation than 25-30k hp with bad heals, pigeonholed builds and zero survivability. I dont get where ppl get this notion of the warrior being the most “OP” pve character in the game because from the way I see it all they get is to farm crappy dungeons repetativly so their main (theif, guard, ele) can reap the rewards. I have both guardian and warrior and I dont think that I felt any worse on my guardian after the “buffs” to warrior

The same goes for D/D eles using Churning Earth. They attune to water right before the skill goes off to solve the problem. I’d try to save “Shake It Off!” or, when using Soldier runes, any other shout for that.

Earthshaker is also on a 10s cd so you won’t have to wait that long before using it again ^^ There is usually always enough adrenaline in a big fight.

implying that a warrior lives long enough to recast/not get reblinded. With the slowest cast times ever we need something (im on the immune to conditions stance side of the fence)

Lets take a leaf out of the most OP profession’s book. Gain invulnerability while hacking and slashing away. “But no!” They say “It’ll be OP!” They say, yet it exists on a profession that can keep up a non stop assault with their F buttons alone…

Just drop the Greatsword seriously, after the frenzy nerf it lost its only use considering the current state of Rush.

why do people try and romanticize the warrior so much? I seriously just dont get it. Every other class has more effective/passive ways to remove conditions, stronger heals, better utils (have yet to hear any positives on kick and stomp) and frankly the only thing good about our “control” on a hammer is earthshaker since backbreaker is outclassed by every skill in the game with a knockdown and staggering blow is actually the worst attack cross every class in the entire game. The mace is no better having the crappiest auto attack ever, our burst skills for the most part suck, and we have to rely on teammates more than any other class in the entire game. If you are one positive warrior in a sea of unhappy warriors then you are 1 of 2 things. 1 you think dying is helping your team or 2 you have a very good team…

Thief are able to cleanse condition everytime they go invisible, why can’t us have it everytime we have full adrenaline? I’m not saying we should have a condition removal every 3 second when you have full adrenaline, but something that have the same concept as that will be better since Warrior really lack ways to remove conditions without speccing full shout+soldier rune, it’ll just make other utilities useless.

The only condition removal that I use atm is the signet, though it have a huge cooldown making it not really that viable.

I like all the adrenaline centered ideas but I hate how its always based around the fact you must have FULL adrenaline. It makes the GS too much better than other warrior builds and makes every useful burst skill go unused. These traits that already exist should give the bonus for a time period AFTER the adrenaline has been expended (enough to keep the buff almost always active so long as they can continuously gain 3 stacks of adren) Dont know why we get these kittenty kitten heals and bad burst condition removals (well… one, if you wanna call it that)

I never though I would ever even bother to think about kick but the other day I was trying to come up with a fun and new build for my warrior to try in sPvP. I was thinking about unsuspecting foe. does that synergize with kick or is that only for knockdowns and stuns? It would be nice to kick them in the face and line them up with an undodgeable eviscerate to the face with a near 100% crit chance. Once again this is for something new and different I dont care how ineffective it may seem, just want to know if the boost works :P

it should crit them for 4345423543543 damage wearing pvt gear and apply every condition in the game for 100 seconds onto everyone in a 1200 range radius and have a blast field and finisher combo on a 5 second cooldown.

high level PVE zerker or knights?

I want to make a build that can meet the DPS checks that sometimes come up in various dungeons/fracs as well as being an asset to my guildies (most of the time we have very little DPS) but I dont want to get zerker and realize on higher level fracs and in places like arah i will get one shotted by everyone and their mothers. Does anyone know if knights is viable at pumping out close to the same damage while actually surviving or is knights just lowering dps while not giving me anything (noticeably) survivability wise

The post wasn’t claiming Swoop to OP, it was claiming Rush to be UP, which it is given its current state of buginess.

This is true. I want to clear things up. I dont care about the ranger specs or anything at all. when I look at just the ability I see it going to waste on a ranger. Numbers and effects like that cant be completely overlooked because the simple fact that a warrior that is meant for melee has a less effective gap closer than a ranger that is supposed to run away and kite. This baffles me that there is such a difference of such a similar skill. There is nothing wrong with swoop. The problem is that rush is not to par with it. (and seriously a super launch alpha strike vs a sprinting guy doing a slow kitten uppercut? insult to injury i say.)

Wrong. Blademaster only affects one handers. It would say greatsword If It affected greatswords.

Rangers and thieves get those evades because they have paper defense in melee and need something.

why are rangers in melee? Thats like saying warriors gun should shoot a solid slug that applies every condition in the game and makes him evade all attacks. They are RANGE for a reason. as for theives… kitten theives

I actually did cry a little bit when I saw the kittenation of the stats. Rush on The warrior has
Damage: 628
Range: 1,200 (source: GW2 wiki)
The Cooldown is 20 seconds (16 while spec’d) and takes 2 seconds to travel max range not to mention a long attack animation.
Now lets look at swoop which is a ranger skill (I can hear the collective groans begin already)
Damage: 517
Combo Finisher: Leap
Range: 1,100 (source: GW2 wiki)
Already I think ppl know this just doesnt add up. It gets better my friends… It gets better. This attack is on a 12 second CD unspec’d and takes 1 3/4 seconds to reach max range (I think this is inaccurate if you have ever seen how fast it is) and its a FREAKIN LEAP FINISHER! This attack hit almost the instant it lands with a superfast attack animation and hits all foes in an AOE around the main target as opposed to Rush hitting one single target. (or failing to hit rather)

I for one am outraged that a class made for sitting back and damaging from afar would get a completely superior gap closer that is not only more effective but also more boss looking. If people want to try and say warriors are not underpowered fine you dont have to but you cannot say that the warrior doesnt need to be at least at par with the other classes abilities especially when the other class isnt made for that type of combat in the first place. Please comment what you think and post any other failed skill logics along with a decent explanation.
