The Reason Kiel Has my vote and shoud have yours…
It has nothing to do with either of the fractals and everything with trying to get us to spend money on gems. I will see more return for my gold through waypoints because I do not buy keys for RNG Chests. So for those of you that don’t plan to buy a key within that 4 week span will in turn get nothing . Where everyone every day would see the effect of lower waypoint costs. I could care less about what fractal we get just so long as its new.

When I had to get the weapon cache it took me almost 6 hours of fighting to get it. This time around paired up with different servers took me 10 min.
I found its best to take at least 5 people with you so you don’t get picked on by others. Its also good if nobody initiates a fight even if by accident it can start and all out war.

I was never going to make a guardian. Then one day I was running around Fireheart Rise with my thief and teamed up with a level 80 guardian. Watched how he was using the class and was impressed at how sustainable he was. The next day I created my guard and never really looked back. Now I have 4 level 80’s but my guardian is always my go to. I have almost 1k hours playing him.

It seems like most people are having trouble getting to their home instances because they do not know where they are. A nice addition would be a Waypoint right to it.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
My main concern was that they said a while back that player housing was on their list. I think they may add it there and that would increase how much it is utilized.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
My question came to me while watching this video about Home Instances.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwRsMLj3AgI
They talk about how your home instance will change based off what you do in your personal story. I finished my whole story god knows how long ago and unless I go back and read through my choices I can’t remember for the life of me what I did. So I don’t really think that I am going to notice these “changes” that they are talking about especially since my story is done.
I know I could make new chars and stuff like that to experience these changes. I just am playing the devils advocate here and seeing if we will be left stagnate.
My question is will the Home Instance stop changing after your story is complete or will the Living story impact it as well?

Only thing I feel people can complain about is the camera angles. Other than that there are tonics that can change you from one race to another to make it easier for you. I agree there has been a little to much emphasis on the puzzles lately and gathering 40 crystals seems a bit much. I think 20 would have been acceptable but 40 was to much for my taste and I don’t mind jumping puzzles.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
I don’t hate the new one but the old one did not require as many clicks to find what you wanted.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
I think they need to add the Halloween JP on top of SM, once players cap SM, finish the Halloween JP, where the players will meet Lupicus.
Once Lupicus is defeated, the entrance to Obsidian JP should open up, and finally once players get to the top of the puzzle, they can get to the kite.As it stands now, Obsidian JP alone is super easy, please provide more challenging content.
No no no. You should fight lupicus while ascending the Mad Kings Clock Tower.
while being crippled 100% of the time!

Limiting the daily stuff like some people are suggesting here is troublesome. We are supposed to play how we want. Some people like doing dailies. Just because you don’t like doing dailies doesn’t mean you need to try and take away from what someone else likes to do. Achievements that take longer grant more points. Dailies grant a few points because they are done every day.
Except they don’t, you can get up to 15 points a day off dailies, whereas earning a legendary weapon gives you 5. Do you see the problem here? Playing the game like a chore will get you more rewards than actually going for interesting and unique goals.
seems like to me that people are complaining because some achievements should be worth more and since they are not they want everyone else to suffer because they have other goals outside of their interests.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
Playing a game everyday is an achievement. For those who can spare the time each day to collect them I say give it to them that’s the reason they are giving you achievement points in the first place for them.
anet wants people to log in everyday having them not count is counter productive.
This game is not a spitting contest let people have their guaranteed rewards. To much in this game already is not guaranteed and luck based.

Everyone knows already how dungeon carvings work. How about have tiers that require you to have the one previous pieces to it upgrade to the next level. Say a shoulder piece cost 180 carvings and you purchase it. Now you want to buy a shoulder piece upgrade for “x amount” of carvings and it would change the look of it to tier 2 and so on and so on.
I am not sure if the stats should change I’ll leave that to the pros. I just think it would be nice to use the carvings to improve the look of my chars and show off your hard work. You could have any number of tiers to this system requiring more and more carvings each time you moved up. This would really help with armor variation across the playing field.
In result I feel this would inspire people to go after the new tiers and play more dungeons and perhaps different ones at that.
You could take this same philosophy and apply it to weapons as well.

Reward for Performance

It needs work the effect and sounds are mediocre at best. Hope they work on it like they did the last one.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
Looking forward to the update. I can’t remember the last update that I was looking forward to more than this.
I do hope like a few others that having “X” amount just unlocks the skin for a gold/ecto/laurel price and that it does not use your achievement points to buy things.

Only took me 6 hours to get to it. Unlike some people who went through the jumping puzzle with servers walking hand in hand through meadows of flowers. My server was in constant battle all the way through the puzzle. We had to split into two groups one killing anyone at the entrance to stop the mesmers from porting people to help them. While the other killed anyone in the puzzle. When it was all said and done I had a good time doing it but I think I would feel very different if we were not able to finally get to the top.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
The harder content would require you needing a whole party I would think inspiring people to resurrect players. I am not sure If I states both would be used at the same time meaning the timer and team deaths so it would make a team try to push forward but also being careful about it.
The method I am describing was used in Global Agenda PvE UMAX instances. You got the xtra xp and better rewards for playing it.
Check the top right of this youtube video you will see the timer and team deaths.

Everyone has talked about adding a Hard Mode to Dungeons and I believe that is a good Idea. But lets take it a step farther.
My Idea:
*This would be for Hard Mode.
*Have a countdown timer in the dungeon so that if you do not finish it in the time allotted you instantly fail.
*Count team deaths in the dungeon. Person dies fully its counted as 1 team death or if two people fall its considered 1 team death. If you compete the dungeon path without having to many team deaths you get a Rare. Once per dungeon per day.
This will force people to try to work fast and efficient while going through the content and will tie reward for performance.
*note you could do more with this but I wanted my base idea to not have to much change. You could have new skins or a new currency for new dungeon items for hard mode things like that.
Please feel free to add to the idea or tell me I’m crazy.

Agree with most everything that the OP spoke of.
I will speak on behalf of my friends that left the game already there were 40 of us in our guild and now only 3 to 5 play. Most of them left because of the gear grind felt trivial and without purpose. The drop rates were bad and they felt like there was no point to grind for top end gear when the gear they had worked already for them.
People want to feel rewarded when playing a game. Nerfing drops and classes does not increase difficulty or balance the economy it increases rage. The lack of Build diversity and weapons all around are still very poor in the game. Sure you can use other builds but for what reason when there are well documented superior builds out there for any class. So instead of nerfing the builds that are working buff the skills that are weak and not used.
It would be wise if they aren’t already track every trait, weapon, armor type, sigil, rune, trinket ect.. Figure out what people are not using and look into making them better. More balance would inspire new builds. This would help make the classes feel new again. Because right now I’ve been running the same build on each of my characters for I don’t know how long.
In short improving reward for performance would greatly help this game.

Well play WvW then…
I am not sure if you read the post.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
I think what the op is saying is that he wants new scalable content that is permanent.
I have to agree once you have 100% world completion, Dungeon master title, and done 40+ fractals there is not much left to do as far as PvE goes. Sure we get some trivial mind numbing updates that make us go here or there but it never really takes that long to finish.
If its been said once its been said a million times have an option to increase the difficulty of some content as well as increasing the reward for playing the more difficult content.

Animation should be something unique not a smaller version of the rangers healing circle. Also should start as soon as you gather not after. It will be fixed I’m sure.
I have to say I will miss all the metal plants.

It is obviously wrong. I’m sure this will be fixed. I’ve watched the animation in slow motion while pausing it and the sickle is not even in the hands of the avatar. Not to mention the metal sound.
Rather than complain about it, why not enjoy it while it lasts because it will not be here long. Its just another one of those bugs you will laugh about a year from now. Hey remember when….

Have an option for all players to start in the overflow. This way zones that may be dead on your server could join up with other players from other servers. I think this would make the areas not feel so empty and alive again.

What is the best way to achieve 200+ MF?
In SC? Talk to the settler(s) with a star over his head, select third option.
Sorry I should have said with gear. I keep seeing people say they have 400% I would like to shoot for this or at least have 200% even after southsun.
Edit: I guess if you have full ascended MF gear you could get it easy.

| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
There needs to be something decent guaranteed in the chest worth the money you spend on keys/chests. Having complete RNG is horrible. But we all know that will not change anytime soon.
I just wish they would bring things to reasonable costs so I didn’t feel as ripped off when I come up with nothing good. 1$ a key/box would be excellent imho. I also believe they would sell WAY more of them.

I learned my lesson last event…. I lost at Gem Wars 2
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
I hope they do. I think it would be a nice dynamic to the game for people have to go get the right gear to do open world stuff as well. You don’t have to do fractals you can also collect laurels to obtain that gear. I like the idea of it.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
I do this jumping puzzle at least once per week. Was it hard at first yes, but after you know where to jump and how to position your body in the air for the next one you are fine. I did it the first time I tried yesterday. Not a big fan of portals in this game in general. I wish they would have made three Keys scattered throughout the puzzle that you had to collect to unlock the box for the last sample but I guess people would just rage that it was to hard seeing how they already are.
For those of you that want to do it the legit way watch the video first and figure out what you need to do then go at it. What I failed at when I was learning this puzzle was sometimes you need to run to the end of the stone platform before you jump or you will not make it to the next one in some cases.

I’ve played probably to many games in my life and this game is in my Top 5 but I as well have become a little tired of the game. Its not because the game lacks content or things to do. Its mainly because just like any other game if you play it enough you just start to lose interest. Some times you just need to “take that break” from the game and come back to it when it feels fresh again.
The only problem I am having is trying to pull myself away from this game….
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
It makes to much sense for them to do it so it more than likely will not happen. The only thing that could be confusing is if you tried to change sigils what one would be replaced?
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
I got 3 two nights ago doing the MF in one run. I generally get 2 or more per week.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
Its been said before change the random skin drop to a fractal weapon ticket drop that can be exchanged at a vendor for the weapon skin of your choosing. Then you still have your RNG and it would be a million times better.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
First off I don’t do any sort of PvP in this game. Main reason is balance. To me when you take a game like this its almost next to impossible to balance it with so much variation to consider. Something is always going to be better than something else.
I like pvp with hard set standards like the Wintersday snowball fights. It was easy to understand and everyone knew what they were up against and how to deal with it.
To stay on topic I believe that all three instances should be judged separately PvE, WvW, and SPvP.

Love how people are quick to keep people grounded “its good but not that good” What people are trying to do here is help the devs with future choices they are going to make. There are aspects of the new dungeon that are better than most we have now. Some new things added that would be nice to see again. Don’t just say its not as great as what people make it out to be give the devs something to go off of and give a few examples of what would have made it better.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
People to much CoF makes your perception a bit tilted. So many people complaining on how long it takes and that it makes you fight everything. I wish every dungeon took 30 to 45 min to complete I feel that’s a decent run. Just because you can’t finish this in under 10 min and rinse repeat it does not take anything away from it.
Pros:
- Loved how the drill manages your speed while giving you things to do in the process
- Mats in the dungeon is an outstanding idea
- Secret areas and lootable items on bodies to be used in other places outside of the dungeon is brilliant.
- Good boss fights and mechanics
- Adding environmental damage and a way to get rid of it was a nice element to add.
- New monsters and their “moves” felt about right and were fun to learn.
Cons:
- I wish all areas had different monsters each time you entered other than just a section here and there.
- Feels like you needed one more way point someplace.
- One more chest would have been nice for the time it takes to complete it.
- Once you ran the dungeon once and you do it again all the ore veins are gone . It made the beginning feel a bit pointless knowing what you could have had. I found myself not even wanting to clear the things in those rooms or even angered that I had to now for nothing.
- Having to plant the bombs at the end didn’t feel right to me Braham should have done that he is after all standing next to them. Nothing to long just run up there pant one bomb and then come back. Or even a mini jumping puzzle for the player to do to get to the spot where we need to plant. The one mini jump felt cheesy to me.
- First chest Remove the food items unless they are better than what you can get elsewhere.
If I was rating this dungeon I would give it a 8.5 out of 10.

Just got an announcement in game it will be out in the next hour or two!
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
This was not built by the dungeon team, but instead by the living world team. William and I are currently working on other content in the game, which is why there weren’t any significant changes to the core dungeons this last patch.
We’ve been playing and giving feedback on the new dungeon though. It’s a different flavor from our normal dungeons, but still tastythey are trying some interesting things we will be keeping an eye on.
So since it was not built by the dungeon team will this new dungeon be a constant addition to the game or only last while the living story is still going on?
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
I would like to see more character progression. New storyline would be a start. New ways to get new skins for both armor and weapons.. I want to be able to constantly work towards a goal that may take a while.
I have already obtained every pve goal you can pretty much want to get and I’m feeling like there is nothing else for me to work towards. I hate leveling alts and I really mean HATE. If endless character progression was possible give me more of that.

We have to purchase a kit from the Gem Store in order to use custom arenas?
I’m not quite sure how I feel about this. I
It’s not giving unfair advantages in any way, but I think they are shooting themselves in the knee by not adding it as a free feature, since costumizable arenas in spectator mode could greatly boost GWII’s reputation.
I don’t even pvp but I agree with this ^

The best class for any dungeon is the one you enjoy playing the most. More than likely you know that class better than the others and you will probably use that class more effectively than ones you did not like. That’s why some people say this or that is better than this or that. Every class has its pro’s and con’s just knowing what to use where is the key.
