For me earrings are only obtainable via one way and that’s with laurels seeing how I am in a small guild. I just got my first earring last night and let me tell you how pumped I am to know I have to wait another month to get the next one. (30 daily + 1 Monthly) I personally think the amulets should have gone for the 40+50ectos not the earrings. The earrings don’t give you much better stats compared to the amulet.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
I personally think that they should have the same drop rate as ascended rings. Tired of all this elitism “They should keep it the same because it makes them more rare” I don’t give a flying pig who else has a skin and why should you? People should not have to run fractals for 2+ months just to get a random drop… As for using pristine relics to buy them I believe 50 is way to high I would drop that more to like 20. The skin should represent that you do fractals not that you got lucky in fractals.
Common people/anet it is a skin not a legendary….People are finishing their legendary items before they get the skin they want. That’s saying something.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
nope, not when the weapons I like that you make with loadstones look better than the legendary themselves. Not to mention some of them cost more than legendary needing 350 charged loadstones @ over 3 gold a piece is a pretty penny.

No guild halls , tired of hearing about it. That is not my own and all that will inspire is guilds having their members do things to help get other things for the hall or else you will get kicked from the guild.
Player housing with differing sizes and shapes with the ability to make it into a “Guild House” would be fine by my book. I miss the housing from Ultima Online being able to have vendors was such a nice feature to have.
When it comes down to it I want something I own not share.

I am a full zerker guardian and have no problems in high level fractals. Just missing one ear ring now…. I only advice this if you are good at timing your evades and are running AHEM.
When you get to the 40+ range of fractals everything pretty much kills you fast regardless to armor/toughness so I just try to kill it faster than it can kill me.

Time = Money
Take the average time it takes your play testers to finish a particular path and put a price on it per minute.
Adjust all the loot in all dungeon paths to reflect this.
Keep in mind this is an example and not what I think it should be but for the sake of showing my point:
2 silver per min
CoF Path one Average: 13 minutes
Cof Path one Gold: 26 silver
*keep in mind you could adjust the XP and Karma this way as well. I would leave the Dungeon tokens at 60 either way.

Something seems fishy to me about FOTM. I run with the same people every day and we do fractals at least one time a day. With that being said it seems to me like there are two different loot RNG tables. Everyone in my group went over an entire week without anything decent dropping. That means no vials, globs, shards and or exotics. Then yesterday our group had 4 exotics drop and 3 globs and 12 rares. When before we were lucky if we each got 1 rare.
To me it seems like something is keeping track of drops. If feels like when you get a specified amount in a given time frame the good droops stop. And once you hit that number you are switched to a different loot table until the time it should have took to get those drops is met then you are switched back.
This is my tin foil hat theory but it seems to happen over and over. I’ll get great drops for 4 days in a row then go 7 to 9 days in a row with sub par loot.
Anyone else that does fractals regularly feeling like this?

all depends on what builds you are wanting to use. If your going AHEM then you will want high precision so you would want zerker or knight. Soldier runes are decent for condition removal. As for Trinkets I went Full zerker. But with the runes you put up in your post looks like you are going for boon duration so you may want to look into Chocolate Omnomberry Cream food it will give you an additional 20% boon duration.

No reason that world chests should be better than higher level fractal chest period. To me since the last patch the drops in fractals went down the tubes. Not the mention of the RNG of Vials, Globs, and Shards. Almost a week and only 2 drops for our entire party. I would love to infuse my rings but at this rate I have a better chance of getting one from the daily…

Omnom as useful for a lot more than WW. For instance staff spam with high crit rate = 3-4 crits per swing = 670-1000 healing per swing in a big fight before the nerf. Large symbols can hit multiple enemies every second. Smite does up to 15 hits in a short period of time. Torch 5 can do an crazy number of crits if you have enemies bunched up. It was overpowered I’ll admit.
You’re right I wasn’t thinking of all the different guard weapons. I use so few atm just because of the content that I am playing. I have not noticed a big difference since the nerf myself but it could just be because of the build I am using. Nice catch.

The only guild wars happening in this game is that of the recruiters of guilds fighting for active members….
All guilds are not created equal nor will they ever seem to be….
With that said I think most people that are not in a big guild or don’t care for them will always be left out of the guild content unless its changed. I don’t even call this new content because I will never be able to actually do it because of the expectations and requirements needed to do them. I guess I was left out of the cool kids club… lulz

up to fractals 19 only
Terrible advice. At 26 you start facing lvl 82 trash mobs. At lvl 30+ most of them will 2 shot you. Your DPS uptime is miniscule, since you have to openly avoid melee due to being a squishy. Whatever you gain as DPS, you lose by the low DPS uptime, as well as gain the headache of being a paper tower. Your Build is better suited for a warrior TBH.
You will have <13k HP, that means 1 shot by most boss attacks. You can do lvl 18 fractal with 0 agony resist. Whats holding you back is ur glass cannon build and set up, not your Agony resist.
PS: Doylak runes = worthless
That’s not whats holding me back at all. I have over 15k health 350 vitality with traits and dolyak runes. If you look at it closely I get tons of mini heals that add up in the thick of things. I’ve had conversations with 30+ guardians in fractals and they are scrapping their toughness for dps because it does not matter much when you get to higher levels. The faster things die the less time it has to hurt you. On your false comment about not needing AR for level 19. If you take a team into level 19 against the maw with 0 AR your team would all die from the first agony burst from him alone. You may like to pay for repair costs but I’m not a fan. That’s why I use the build I use because I actually know how to manage inside a fight. Just because you can’t run this build it does not make it horrible so hop down off your soapbox and try not to discredit people because its not the way YOU would play the guardian. Everyone has their OWN play style and its not really up to you to decide what works for everyone else. I just presented a build that works for me, Its not for everyone. But there is a chance that someone will like it and that is all its there for. No place in my post did I say that it was the end all be all build I actually said the opposite. And just a heads up I’m not squishy one WW can bring me to near full health from over half way down. Not to mention the shouts, justice, signet ect that I get to use as well. I’ve ran this through every path of every dungeon and had no problems as well. So what it really boils down to is…this build is not for you.
Not sure if you read the patch notes but life steal food now has an internal cooldown. So your WW won’t fill your healthbar any longer.
I did read the patch notes and I know the health doesn’t pour in like it did. But if you use the pies with empowering might and have the sigil of strength its almost just as good. Because you have the chance to gain health many different ways while the internal cooldown is up.
Omnomberry Pie – 66% chance to steal life on critical with a 1 second internal cooldown.
Superior Sigil of Strength – 30% chance to apply might on critical every stack of might you heal yourself
Empowering Might – Nearby allies gain might for 5s when you land a critical hit. (keep in mind every party member you give might to gives you a bit of health)
Shouts – “Hold The Line, Save Yourselves, Stand Your Ground” all heal for every party member it hits.
Virtues – All virtues activations will give you life if you have at least 5 points traited in virtues. Resolve will not only give you and your party a decent heal it will also give you regeneration. On top of that if you are using Renewed Focus you can activate them twice if your in a hard spot.
So yeah I’m not hard up with the pies getting nerfed and really it wasn’t a nerf it was just to level the playing field because of the warriors Hundred Blades and whirling Axe abilities. Guardians other than the Whirling Wrath really don’t see that big of a change imo.
So to sum it up no matter what every time I crit I get some health with the chance to get two other small bits with the pies and the extra stack of might. On top of that I get the 30 hp per sec added to all of this from my dolyak runes every little bit helps and when add up all those little numbers you will find they are not that bad. People always want to see big giant heals and underestimate the power of micro heals.

Reduce to the cost of a Ring and or Amulet with half the amount of ectos.
For me its more a a metal thing I know 15 days isn’t that big of a deal but when you think about the cost of other things it gets very disheartening.

Armor – Full zerker w/dolyak runes
Accessories – Full ascended zerker
Weapon Types: Greatsword with Scepter/shield or focus
Weapon stats – Zerker w/superior sigil of strength
Traits – 0/5/30/30/5 (Altruistic Healing and Empowering Might)
Food: Omnomberry Pie and Master Maintenance Oil
This is not for people who are lazy and who do not know how to move and evade well. I focus on getting health through burst skills and shouts. Jump in with the GS use all your abilities, virtues, utility skills then get the heck out and range till you get your shouts back then do it again. I’ve used this build all the way up to fractals 19 only thing holding me back from going forward is my agony resist. I don’t do much wvw or pvp for that matter but I know this works in pve/dungeons.
Other things to note you can generally get around 9 to 15 stacks of might using this since every crit you have the chance of getting two stacks each time. With the food you should be around 50% crit chance and around 3100 attack base. I am pretty sure that you could get those might stacks even higher if you used boon duration runes on your armor.

Does the Superior Sigil of Strength give you a bit of health if you are running an AH build?
Since you are giving a boon to yourself would you gain a small bit of health every time its triggered? In my mind if it did you could have a chance to gain two tiny bits of health every time you crit if you were running precision gear with Empowering Might traited.
Can any one confirm or deny this?

I’ll bite, the item prices are great if you have one toon. For people that have multiple toons the high end gear is somewhat out of reach. Also for those who say this is a farm method for laurels is completely false. Farming would be allowing players to get a laurel each time they finished any story mode dungeon with no cap limits. This would just provide an alternate route to getting more laurels at a moderate speed that is controlled.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
They need to start scaling the guild stuff. I’m sure it wouldn’t take long to figure out how much on average a person should make in a day influence wise. Then take that into consideration on ALL guild upgrades not just the event stuff. Bigger guilds prices would be high for upgrades and for the smaller guilds prices would be low.
Just go with this type of formula
(Average Player Influence * guild members ) * how many days it should take to complete = Total influence cost to upgrade
Lets say Average Player gets 100 influence a day and you have 24 members in your guild and ArenaNet decides it should take 6 days to gather enough influence to get a particular upgrade it would look like this…
(100*24)*6 = 14,400 influence needed
But if you had 300 members
(100*300)*6 = 180,000 influence needed
This would solve 2 problems in one. Big guilds would have to sort through their active members and make sure their roster is playing or it would greatly reduce their effectiveness and number 2, make smaller guilds able to do the same stuff as larger guilds in the same amount of time.
I feel no mater what it should have a baseline number like 10 players so even if you had less than 10 it would still multiply by that number to make it even across the board.
This equation may not be perfect but I’m sure most people in small guilds would love it and they seem to be in the majority. There are far less big guilds and they seem to be the ones that will soon reap all the rewards. I think it just would be nice to have all content available to everyone in any guild.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
First off I think this idea would help the community.
This would be on a weekly timer so people wouldn’t abuse it.
For each different story mode you complete you would receive 1 laurel per dungeon max 8 per week. To clarify once you received a laurel for a particular path that week you could not get it again.
Since there is not a currently any type of dungeon currency tied to story mode this would be helpful to get players to find groups to get the explorable modes for particular dungeons unlocked for others. The laurels would give enough incentive to draw people who have done it to do it again.
Based on averages:
30 daily laurels (30 days in a month)
10 monthly laurels
24 weekly dungeon laurels (4 weeks in a month)
Total in a month possible: 64 (give or take)
Side note: this could help cure some of the new high priced laurel items we have on the vendors currently.
your thoughts?
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
I think it would be nice to see the influence contribution of members as well. It would be quick easy way to see who is playing and not.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
Bad Bad Bad I refuse to join a large guild to do this. The prices to get these are way to high drop them to 30 laurels with ZERO ectos……
Heck I’d be satisfied if they just added them to the daily chest you get from fractals. Perhaps level 10+. Or would it be to much to ask for some pristine love inside of fractals for those items make them cost 15 pristine relics. 30 days for two items would be fair…
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
Well this part of new content is closed to me. Unless i go in a big guild so.. i dont bother with it. Thanks for nothing.
I thought the same thing myself.
IMO prices of these unlocks should scale with size and so should the events. 3 sizes Small, medium, and large. But why have something that would work for everyone.
So it looks like over two month wait for my two accessories! I’ll have it in no time /sarcasim…
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
I was under the impression that I would get to pick from a list of all the different dailies each day. Not out of the ones they allotted for the day.
I had stopped doing my daily until they introduced the laurel. I know they want us to be out in the “Open World” but having a few dailies that required a dungeon path or completing a fractal would be a little more fun than killing rabbits…
When you have limited amount of hours to play like I do you would like to play the content you would like to play. I know nothing is stopping me from doing so but I would like to have the items I want as well.
TL/DR
It sure would be nice to have more advance dailies so that veteran players could do some of the more challenging content while doing their daily.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
Just to clear up how you used them before and now how they currently work.
Before: You would just double click it in your pack and you would go invisible for 10 seconds right where you were. There was no cool down to this.
Now: You double click it in your pack then your action bar change, then you could use action “1” and then you will go invisible for 10 seconds. Now there is a 60 second cool down timer attached to it.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
What does everyone think about the nerf to the spy kits?
I personally do not like the way they work now or the timer attached to them. I typically only used them while getting people back up while in sticky situations. What was once a hot item will now be tossed to the wayside and practically never used again. I don’t really see a need for them but maybe someone could help me out.

In my point of view I saw my guildes and party mates learning how to evade and play better, changing their MF gear for more survavility or GC builds (kill faster, die less). And learned how to effectively helping downed players using some skill or using two people to heal faster.
All that is great in a perfect world. The fact of the matter is that there are are a ton of people putting pub groups together and that is where the problem is. Sure when I play with friends that I know or with groups of people that I typically run with things go great and you really wouldn’t need this.
What I am saying this is for the times where you join a group and your the only person that has done the path with people that don’t have the “correct” build for dungeons and their gear is less than desirable.
Most people typically quit out of the group. I always take what I get and try to help new people with new content to them. We already have enough people looking for specific team builds as it is now we are throwing in limiting a team based on deaths.
Everyone thinks of themselves when it comes to this and how great their team is but what about the people that struggle with things. I think we are severely limiting new people from dungeons because people don’t want to play with inexperienced players. Now throw in those inexperienced players are now staring at the death camera for most the run. What really did they learn when they didn’t have the chance to actually practice their tactics?
Next time you die try sitting at your desk looking at your dead body for 30 minutes and see how much you learn. If you’re out of the game you are not learning much. Prolonged deaths are not the key to teaching people how to play. Its like putting together a sports team not have them practice and expect them to win. We need to help our players not punish them.

First off I have to say I do not like way point zerging like it was. You should not be rewarded for not being persistent. However I am not really enjoying the way the new system works either. Great concept but it just missing one thing.
I believe we need a respawn timer for each person in the instance. I think it would be great to further add each time someone dies to add a minute to their personal respawn timer. After they have waited the duration of the timer then they will be able to way point resurrect.
Two things could get them up faster. If a team mate revives them or if the entire team wipes. Either way a death is a death and it would increase your respawn time for the next time you die.
Example:
1st Death – Instant respawn
2nd Death – 1 minute wait
3rd Death – 2 minute wait
4th Death – 3 minute wait
ect…
My reason for wanting this:
It is not very fun for all parties involved to no be able to play the game. Laying dead for extremely long periods of time while one or two members take down a boss doesn’t encourage people to “play better” I found it makes people rage and become even more careless. Where I believe if people knew they were getting up soon they would be more inclined to think hey what can I do better rather than just be angry that its going to be a very long time before they are back on their feet. This type of system would encourage better play with consequences for dieing to much. As much as I like to solo bosses its not very efficient. Some times I’ll purposely die just to get my team back. I know everyone should just “learn to play” but even good players get killed by not timing a evade right or just being overwhelmed by mobs.
Maybe my times could be tweaked but either way I’d like to see this happen.
Who’s with me?
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
My opinion neither way works. But you can make it work if you slightly alter it.
My thoughts way point resurrections should be on a individual timer.
1st time you die you can get a instant res. each additional time it would be increased by one minute.
Two ways to get around the respawn time is if one of two things happen.
a) a team mate resurrects you
b) your whole team wipes.
This I think would work and encourage people not to die as much but if you happen to die you don’t have to wait around 10 minutes for a boss fight.

| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
My guess would be that they are trying to make all shapes and sizes of guilds to work in the game. If you started implementing something with groups of that size it would guide people to only want to be in a big guild.
Yes I know about LFG site but some people don’t like to pub.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
My vote is yes to be able to view gear, traits, and utility slots.
I don’t like the argument about gear checking because most of these “elitist” know what you have by the look of it or at least the level for the most part. I would much rather know from the start if the group wanted me or not rather then waste everybody’s time.
To me all these people getting their feelings hurt because someone don’t want to play with them is pretty lame. In society today we are getting to soft and emotional. We can’t play dodge ball because its unfair to the overweight kids, we can’t keep score because someone might lose, don’t tell someone the truth because it may hurt their feelings. In my honest opinion we need to get away from that train of thought.
I believe being able to see what others are using would help the community as a whole because when you see someone doing really well you can actually answer the question how are they doing that?
I’ve had way more people bother me about gear/traits than I have ever been bothered with elitist in dungeons. At least give us the option to display those things or not. I would much rather share my builds that I feel work rather than be in a secret club that we are all in now.
Please Please Please make this happen.

My point of view of what interests myself.
could care less about pvp or wvw
Hammering sign post in low level areas does not do it for me as new content. Nor does it help with the problem of there being areas that are empty.
Guild events sound great but in reality I don’t think it will be much fun or new and exciting. This is probably what they were talking about spreading people out to different areas.
Laurels are the only thing that does anything for me thus far.
New Content to me would be new monsters, classes, races, weapons, armor, areas, bosses, or jumping puzzles.
To me I believe most of the stuff added was all mechanics, features and bug fixes not content.
I know the update is not even half done but I hope there is A LOT they are keeping secret.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
Research dungeons before you attempt them. I know you “shouldn’t” have to but it helps a great deal.
If you are lvl 80 just do CoF path 1! Easiest in the game imo.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
First time i tried this pre patch we did it all for our first time in under 45 min. But like people say its all about your whole team tactics. Everyone needs a role and needs to do it without error.
The only thing that could make it easier without changing the whole fight would be do something similar to CoF Path 3 and reduce the number of sparks to trigger her to come out from hiding. But that almost would make it to easy then. It made CoF P3 pretty simple.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
I agree make them like the other currency in the game I would rather have stacks of laurels…. Its not like those are going to pile up in peoples banks like the dungeon currency does. 250 is really easy to get.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
My question:
What are the two cheap and easy crafting professions in the game other than cooking?
Side notes: I’m working on my third lvl 80 and I have a ton of materials saved up from gathering along the way. I am not looking to turn a profit from it just want to gain the quick levels from maxing out two skills.
If anyone has guides to something that has helped you along the way it would be much appreciated but not a necessity.
Thanks in advance!
