Thanks Wetpaw for the advice! As for gear is it the general consensus that rangers use zerker gear? I have read some places its good to have condition duration/damage.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
I understand that there are way better builds available using different weapon types. I just wanted to try something outside the norm. Since there has not even been one build recommendation that uses duel bows I guess that means I’m way outside the norm on this.
So I took it upon myself to just wing it and try to come up with something based on what I am going for. I want my pets to do some damage and have reasonable sustainability that way I can range all the time and I need to be strong with bows.

Its obvious its being tracked because of the title linked to it. If we could have a visual marker that would be great.
I got my DM along time ago what I did was started with the story then did the paths in order 1,2,3, and in the case for arah 4.

Just like the Karma there should have been a warning. I’m ok with this seeing how a major change like this should have been told in advance before the Rank was involved in getting the gift. And before the commander tag went from 100 gold to 100 gold and 250 badges.

I was sort of guessing I would get this response.
I’m wondering what build Eir Stegalkin is using because I’ve only seen her using a Bow.
Item names lead in that direction as well:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Eir's_Short_Bow
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Eir's_Longbow
Any speculation on what that build would look like? The great Eir uses both so there should be at least be some quasi useful build out there one would hope.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
Thanks but the post in that topic just include one Bow I’m looking for a duel bow build.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
What I am looking for:
1) A Build the uses both Long and Short Bow
2) Good with Pets
3) PvE based build
4) A build that people wouldn’t mind being teamed with
Additional information about armor, weps type, trinkets, runes, and sigils would be much appreciated.
I know there are a ton of builds posted throughout the forums but its always hard to find what you are looking for.

Gotta be something to aim for…
True, but short obtainable goals often drive players to play more frequent. Where long goals have no effect on a persons urgency. If people always think they are close to something they want they will play more.
If people are playing more there is even more of a chance they will buy gems when the end goal for any company is to make money. People will lose interest in items they feel they can never get.
Adding items for achievement farmers which is a small percentage of the population in my opinion was not a sound business decision on their part. I would aim for the middle of the pack on items so people feel like they still need to work but its in reach.
One other outside point is why loop through the two sets gloves, shoulders, helm before you hit boots? Boots should be next in line. If you wanted both sets you should start that at 21k.
There are chests available every 500 APs. I’d say they’ve got the short term goals covered. Stop pretending they don’t.
We are talking about armor skins not chests or weapon skins. I didn’t think that I had to be that specific but I guess I was wrong.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
There should have been a warning so people could grab them before the requirement came in. Maybe they will open it up for a short window like the Karma.

I posted my thoughts here. Most people said I was crazy to have them earlier in the AP ladder. Looks like most people agree with me. 21k is to much.

There will and always should be items that the majority of the playerbase cannot get. It encourages exclusivity.
Not a good model to follow. They do this enough with gem store items I myself do not see the need for it here. My idea would encourage players to keep going because the next item feels as if it is in reach. Most of the other ways people are describing here lean towards hard core achievement farmers which are not the majority of the population. I want a system that keeps people revitalized and fueled to keep playing. Not saying to bad you didn’t play since the start because by the time you get this item the game will be faded out.
Most of the complaint about this game is the lack of giving reward for performance here is the chance to do it.

But then you’d have nothing to go for after not long.
The way it works now is you get a skin every 1,000. Every 3,000 it’s an armor skin, the rest are weapon skins.
Not sure if you just glanced at my post. You would still get the same rewards from the chest as they stand now adding the 1.5k to the mix all the way through till 18k AP. By doing this you would have both full sets. After that they could make a whole new two sets for the achievers pas the 18k AP mark adding new land marks starting at 19.5k AP on up.
One thing we have learned from playing this game is that just because it was done one way in the past does not mean it will forever be that way.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
I personally don’t like adding items that will be forever out of reach for most players.
1.5k – Boots
3k – Gloves
4.5k – Pants
6k – Shoulders
7.5k – Chest
9k – Helm
If you look here : http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Achievement_rewards you will find a lot of place to add stuff that could be retroactive to the players in chest that have no extra award tied to it such as the land marks that I posted above.
I think after 18k there should be a different set entirely being started at that point.
In games I found being rewarded more frequently helps keep me going rather thinking how long it will take me to get to the next landmark. With landmarks being every 1.5k it would help keep people going imo.

I’m sure there will be new Points of Interest on the new map. My question is will they be added in the mix for the people going for 100% world completion?
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
I have to wonder, why would you want to duplicate an in-game character and not be unique when creating your character? I can understand trying to replicate characters from other games, but unless you wish to parody, I don’t see the point…
Two sides to a coin one could say everyone is creating unique characters and by doing so you are really the same? everything’s about perspective. Probably less people trying to create Eir than try to make someone different.

I’m all for removing the bonuses entirely. trouble with removing is: “this pick was advertised to give sprockets, now it doesn’t; refund!” so I don’t see them doing that.
adding bonuses to the other infinite picks is an acceptable alternative, though far from the best idea (removing bonuses).
just ahead of that idea is your idea; with the sockets to add boosts to any tool (when added to temporary tools, you get it back when the tool breaks). It meshes well with all other items.
There are two possible options here
1) when the tool breaks have the sigil drop into your backpack and make the sigils craftable similar to the ascended items and make them account bound.
2) Make them really easy to make and allow them to be sold on the TP and when the item breaks people just go get another one.
This way all tools could have the option to have the same abilities.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
I posted this in a different topic But I figured I’d post it here as well.
This new tool grants people having it an unfair advantage because there currently is no other way to get an item similar to it. I am also unaware of the lore behind ore veins that have sprockets in them?
My Idea:
Why not let gathering tools have a slot. Then allow crafting professions to make upgrades for them for nodes that have gone away. This would cover all the bases if recipes were released for everything we have had in the past and it would help with current TP inflation on those items. You could even make general ones such as 20% chance to get more ore.
I believe that would even the playing field.

I watched this attempt on live stream. It was sad when they had obviously killed it and then the event ended and the Crimson Wurm stayed there after it was over flailing in the wind….. Not to mention the mobs kept coming after they should have disappeared.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
The duration of the Fire ele is 5 min but they rarely last that long in most cases.
I would trade the 30 min cooldown for 1 min duration and being able to use them every 5 minutes. It would be nice if they left everything the same on them except for those two attributes.
I never personally spammed mine but I guess I could see people doing this because of how fragile they are. What if you changed the actual skill effects and avatar to be something a bit less intense to help with issues? For me I could care less if a giant flapping fiery orange elemental was flying around me. Also get rid of the graphic that pools the lava field on the ground and have it be something extremely basic.
I need Mas DPS! When it boils down to it that’s all we mostly care about.
My question to the devs would be can we have some kind of trade off that we can get this missing DPS back without putting the hurt on the servers?
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
Similar to the magic find swaps. Select a new stat combo for free.
All ascended gear should be swapped to this. You can not have people spending all that time and materials to make the stuff then switch anything about the items attributes without giving the players a chance to rethink on their choice. Their choice was what the item was originally. Not what it will be. The fact that you have done this once before shows that it can be done. So please let us select what we want!
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
Easy or Hard people just want the best loot handouts they can get!
Anet can we please have a chest that we don’t have to do anything for except click “F” to loot? Even if we had that people would complain that we even had to press “F” at all.
I hope it is a difficult fight. Most things in this game are simple.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
Getting these items will never be about making money for myself at least. Its more about the convenience of having it. I guess if they were made into rich nodes it wouldn’t be as bad. At least it would justify where they are on the map.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
Does it always feel like the patch you want is 6 months out?
Then come to find out when you hit that patch it was nothing you wanted it to be.
I am just getting frustrated with all these great plans that never come to fruition.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
I have not yet tried all the different home instances. But the Hoelbrak home instance for the nods is awful. Yes the candy corn and quartz are right there when you go into the instance but the three new nods are on the complete opposite side of the area. You have to run this giant horse shoe just to get to them. When you are paying 800 gems for something it should be convenient. Makes me wish that I didn’t get this item.
Could others help me out and compare where their nods are in their instances. I would really appreciate it. I think these nods should be moved next to the others.
There is no real easy way to go through the middle of the map. You can either take the steps or go around the horse shoe.
So basically buyer beware!

No reason to complain about something like this. Its like having the argument “I don’t like when warriors use greatswords because they kill things to quickly” It is a legitimate type of play style if they didn’t mean for us to stack we would not be able to clip inside each other. You could always start a group advertisement with no stacking and see what you could get. I don’t think you will have many bites. You will about have as many as the people who like to kill every mob…

I don’t play pvp in any game unless it is even across the board. I don’t see a way to do this unless there was a pvp to force same traits, skills, weps, and armor and even by class on each team.

I loved the way Ultima Online did it way back when. I think they could easily open up new lands just for housing and guild housing. There is a giant portion of the map that is not being utilized. The way UO did it was if you did not log on once per week and open the front door of your house it would fall and all of the stuff inside the house would be able to be looted. This kept people playing the game because people love to get new things to decorate their house with. I could go on and on but no reason to because they will not do it the way they did it
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
The Royal Terrace is my personal favorite. Everything you need for crafting in one spot.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
I assume so. But for dps runes i recommend runes of the scholar or ranger runes.
Yeah I have a set of exotic armor with scholar runes but for my ascended set I plan on going the route of Boon Duration.
2 – Water = 15% boon duration
2- Monk = 15% boon duration
2 – Traveler = 15% boon duration
Traits = 20% boon duration
Food = 20% boon duration
Totaling out to 85% boon duration
For me its my favorite play style you get swiftness out the wazoo, and “Hold The Line” becomes greatly effective when lasting for such a long time. Also the stacks of might you apply last way longer because they are effected by your boon duration and add to your DPS. Its pretty easy to get over 20 stacks of might or more during a long fight with no ones help.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
Very good point just trying to exhaust all my options to make sure there was not something that I’m overlooking.
Another question I have been wondering is does sigil of strength which gives a 30% chance to give you a stack of might on critical work hand in hand with the empowering might trait. Not in the way where it will give your whole party 2 stacks of might at the same time but in the way where it will give you two stacks at the same time therefore causing two mini heals in one swing?
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
I would suggest you run everything berserker except for 2H weapon, coat and helm. These ones should be celestial because they are imbalanced(they provide more crit damage % than the berserker ones, that’s actually weird).
Of course, if you are at least a little bit interested in WvW, you should run full Celestial Armor and customize trinkets(they provide less crit damage than other ones, another confusing bummer)
I ran the numbers on this and it came up with 3314.89 effective power with a 46.91% crit chance. That’s a pretty big step down from the other two mentioned what would the benefit be other than having more crit dmg?
A full set of Celestial would be 3326 effective power with a 47.11% crit chance. This would mean I could be a jack of all trades a master of none. The difference between this and full zerker would mean I would lose 407.77 effective power and 3.01% crit chance.
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
If you go for any assassins it would just be helm chest and legs, rest beserkers. But its not really worth it. So id just recommend beserker. Full assassins if you want to try for the lupi solo record on guard.
I tested what you said in the build calculator given perfect scenarios with Chocolate Omnomberry Cream and Master Maintenance Oil since those are the two I use. I already have full Beserker trinkets and weapons so I included those as well.
The effective power of a Full Beserker Set was 3734.32 with a 50.12% crit chance
The effective power of the Assassin/Beserker was 3711.02 with a 53.16% crit chance
That means the difference in the effective power would be 23.3 and 3.04% crit chance. Seems like you would lose more crit chance than you would power. What do you think?
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
Beserker. Would be silly to spend so much gold on anything else. A mix of beserker and assassins works aswell. But for simplicity I would just recommend full beserker.
I’ve personally never used assassins yet. Were you talking about a full split 3 pieces of each or of specific pieces?
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
I have played guardian for around 2000 hours. I do not do any type of PvP. I play a AHEM (Altruistic Healing Empowering Might) boon duration guardian. With that in mind I need help picking out which ascended armor I should go for.
Due to the build I want to play what would you use? I need something with good precision because the build heavily relies on a High Crit Chance. For those of you that are not familiar with the build every time I Crit I gain a stack of might and since that is a boon I also heal myself at the same time.
Reason I am asking for others opinions is because I am only making one set of this and I want to make sure I go the right route.
Here are the choices I have to pick between
Beserker:
Power – 329
Precision – 235
Crit Dmg – 17%
Notes: High base damage with a good chance to crit.
Assassin:
Power – 235
Precision – 329
Crit Dmg – 17%
Notes: Very high crit chance with lower base damage
Knight:
Power – 235
Precision – 235
Toughness – 329
Notes: High survivability at the cost of DPS but has a good chance to crit.
Celestial:
Power – 147
Precision – 147
Toughness – 147
Vitality – 147
Crit Dmg – 19%
Healing Power – 147
Con. Dmg – 147
Notes: Not sure what to think here it decent in every attribute but only a master of Crit Dmg. Picking this would be losing at the least 88 precision. But on the other hand it may enhance my boons.
All comments are appreciated.
Thanks!

The fight itself is not to hard when everyone has knowledge of what to do during the fight. I’m in TTS and we fight on a different server each night on the main server to help that server and their people get their kills for Teq. Most nights we have commanders on both the main and the overflow. Its pretty rare that we lose against Teq. main reason people that want to kill him listen to the people that have mastered the art of doing so.
To stay on topic here the reason most people don’t do the fight in my opinion is because they do not properly know what to do during the fight or having people to lead them during the fight. I’m sure if someone said in LA map chat spread word to your guilds our server is going to take down Teq. at said time you would have a good showing of people willing to listen. Everyone wants to do the fight most just don’t know how.

I made a topic like this for the Volcanus and it fell on deaf ears. I agree with you 100% but since the amount of people that this impacts is so small no one will care besides the people who have them. I ended up having to reskin my sword with the ascended one that I made.

I never used the pass back when the jubilee was going on so I was not sure how it was going to work but I have to say it was well worth the convenience. This item is not about making money. None of the endless items are. They are all about having a positive quality of life change.
With that being said if you have not been to the Terrace it’s great you have all the Asura Gate access to all cities. , Crafting Stations, Bank and Guild Bank Access, Mystic Forge, Merchants, Black Lions Trading Post, Laurel vendor all in a very condensed area. But the one thing that I really enjoyed is since there are not many people in Divinity’s Reach you load in faster and have less lag. Not to mention you will not have to pay to waypoint to your bank again since you just double click the pass and it takes you right to the Terrace.
I made this topic for the main reason when I went to look for information I could not find it. Hopefully this will be helpful for people that are on the fence on the item. So are you going to pick on up?

When you use the filter to sort by guild it does not update all my guilds properly. I am currently in 5 guilds and 2 of the 5 update correctly but the other three when selected seem to be “acting like its working” but it just pops up with the information from the last guild that worked.
I would like to be able to view the achievement points from guild members so I can somewhat know when people last achieved an achievement point and use this as a indicator to find inactive players within a guild roster.
I’ve tried this both in ie11 and firefox 26 the behavior is the same in both browsers.
Is this just happening to me?
Edited:
Things I would like to point out is that the two guilds that work I have been in for a very long time and are fairly small. The other three are probably within the last 3 months or so and are significantly larger.

Sinister Automatonic – http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Sinister_Automatonic
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
I hope that people read this in its entirety I believe that these ideas would greatly help guilds and the people inside of them. This could change a lot of the perception of guilds as they stand now. I think these ideas may bring a sense of community to guilds that we have not seen in this game yet.
1)Last Represented – When ever a player has logged into the game and was represented your guild take a date stamp. I know I have seen people throwing around a last logged in date stamp but I would like to know that and when the last time they represented your guild
2)Influence earned – keeping track the amount of influence earned by player would be an easy way to find out how vested someone is into your guild. This would be way more beneficial to use over knowing what crafting level they are.
3)Guild MOTD – Have a place where guild leaders can make a message that will be automatically sent to people when they log on. Some people forget to check. The message would be from the guild that they last were representing before they logged off.
4)Mass messaging – Have a way to send out a message to all players in the guild no matter if they are representing or not. It takes to much time to whisper people to tell them information that they may want to know. This should only be sent to players that are online at the time the message was sent.
5)Guild Alliances – Time to face that guilds are growing bigger than planned and they need an easier way to communicate we need either a way to increase the guild size way larger than 500 or make a way for associated guilds to pass information to each other through chat. Having to tell a member in your associated guild to pass the info to their guild mates is redundant.
6)Auto Ranking System – Keep in mind the guild leader has the ability to control what each rank has access to. You set parameters around ranks like consecutive days representing your guild, total influenced earned, and I would like to be able to tie in achievement points as well. We could track dungeon runs, World Boss Kills, and WvW captures ect. If people hit the criteria for the new rank let the system automatically do it for them. This would give people a sense of guild progression and something to work toward.
7) Viewable Guild Ranks – Read before you jump to conclusions We all see guild members in orange now how about take that a step further and make it so we can see what rank they are above their head as well. Keep in mind you would only see this if you are in the same guild. The icon that the guild leader assigns the rank make it show up next to their name. Similar to the emblem that people get when they get 100% world completion.
8)Long Term Guild Missions – Make guild missions where your guild gets a very nice reward for completing it. This would inspire guilds to do more things with each other. For example have two separate long term missions one for PvE and another for WvW. An example of a PvE would be kill “X” amount of a particular monster, Do “X” amount of dungeon runs from a Particular Dungeon, or Kill “X” amount of world bosses. In WvW you could have Kill “X” amount of Dolyaks, capture “X” amount of camps, Have “X” amount of people finish the Sanctum. Make the rewards great so guild will set aside times to get these things done! obviously the more people you can get together the faster these things would get done.
9) Guild Levels – Have guilds rank up via influence and merits. Ranks do nothing but enable the guild to unlock new cosmetic items that they can provide to their guild members.
10)Make Earning Influence Worth something to the player – If they add this along with guild levels you could take the influence that you have earned with that guild and buy cosmetic items from the guild. This would make players want to be more proactive and out doing things rather than chatting in LA.
Thanks for Reading please comment let me know if I’m going crazy!

It makes me laugh how everyone is mostly saying zero. I remember everybody complaining about the ascended weapons at first. Now that’s all I most people have. Everyone screams for end game content and when they get it they don’t want what they get. No matter if it ascended items or living story updates.
I will be gearing my main with fully ascended zerker gear for the fun of it. I actually wish they had ascended runes and sigils. I personally enjoy setting a goal and trying to accomplish it. I guess what it boils down to is people are not wanting to do the work that goes with getting items. Where If anet was saying everyone is getting a full set of ascended trinkets, accessories, weapons, and armor everyone would be all for it because it would be a hand out. Nothing in this world worth getting is easily obtained.
