Can confirm the twitching affects human female with staff. It started with the camera patch and is really annoying.
Pretty much what Critical Lag said. Defend forts, do breach then VW. Afterwards, run labyrinth, follow champ train or chest farm. If there’s no commander leading a train on your map, look in the LFG or hop onto another VW map.
I opened 1k coin purses and 418 seed pouches and made about 70g from the silver dropped and vendoring the greens, not counting mats because I don’t sell them. The drops were kind of disappointing overall. I only got a handful of rares and 6 exotics worth 1g each. Not sure about the gold per hour…It took me about a week to accumulate that many champ bags.

I’d have my male characters wear it. Maybe not the metal dong or feathery headpiece, but the rest seems reasonable…I mean you have the option to dress female chars with skimpy outfits in this game (see attachment), why not males, too?
60+ fps in sparsely populated maps at medium high settings. 15-30 at world bosses depending on size of zerg. Turning off player names usually give me a 5-10 fps boost.
Between 4-7fps for regular game play. I drop down to 1-2fps during fights with big crowds.
How do you manage to do anything with only 4-7 fps? O.o
When Anet released free, bi-weekly content people complained there was too much to do. Now Anet is working on the expansion that a lot of players wanted (and willing to pay for), people complain there’s no new content. It’s impossible to please everyone…
Is this tumblr…? “XYZ offends me please refrain from talking about it QQ” Sorry if I sound harsh OP, but you need to grow thicker skin. If those religious people weren’t forcing their beliefs on you (and please don’t tell me merely talking about it is considered forcing), what is the problem here?
Zerker staff ele works for me. I used to run soldier gear, but I didn’t really see a difference in survivability. If I get overwhelmed by lv 83 teragriffs or wolves I am dead no matter what build I’m using. Plus, it’s fun landing 10k crits on the thrasher champ :P
Though the amount of people that said they run condi here would explain why sometimes even the easiest bosses fail on full maps.
Very true…condi is good if you solo or is with a small group. Against timed bosses you’re actually hurting the entire group because you’re not dealing enough damage.
Didn’t get in. I’m a bit salty but random is random. Congrats to anyone else who did, though
Yeah don’t range them. Go melee and they’re pretty much defenseless.
Map completion should be fun and relaxing (imo), and wvw was neither of those for me. All I did when I was there was hide from enemies and ignore events, thus contributing nothing to my server. So I’m really happy for this change.
Has anyone who was still lacking PvE completion done it since the patch and gotten two Gifts? I would expect it’s still at two, or they’d have said it in the notes, but it’s worth getting some confirmation.
Yep completion still gives you 2 gifts.
Teragriffs I have no trouble with since I usually DPS them down before they could overwhelm me. The ones with homing vine missles are annoying, though. No amount of CCs will stop them from spamming the vines. It’s like their skills have no cooldowns…
Guys, for those with the ‘Initializing’ bug; if you move SweetFX/GemFX files out just in order to patch your client, you can still play afterwards putting the files back in your GW2 folder.
Simply, when you start up the client, you’ll only see “Initializing”.
However, the actual patcher is just invisible “behind” it, so click roughly where the Login button is… wait a few seconds, then click where the “Play” button usually is.
Problem solved for me
Works for me, too. Tyvm!
GemFX not working either The game looks so dull now.
I really don’t remember the names of weapon skills haha.
Thief: Backstab
Guard: GS #5
Ele: Ride the lightning (before the cooldown nerf)
Mesmer: Sword #2
Engineer: Rifle #5
Necro: Dagger #3
Ranger: Maul
Warrior: GS #4
Revenant: That skill in the cinematic trailer where Rytlock teleports from enemy to enemy, stabbing them. It reminds me of flicker strike from Path of Exile. Do want!
Mini Shatterer and Claw of Jormag would make awesome rare rewards from the big event chests. Also a mini chicken that’s not undead.
The droprate should increase if all 4 forts are held and upgraded, but that isn’t the case…I’m really sick of getting sand, crests and bloodstone dust for full participation.
i have like 70 of these pesky things (accumulated for about 3 months). i wish i could trade them to you since i doubt ill ever lead a farm (if i do itll be a noob farm since i dont know the commonly accepted routes)
Just find a train and follow the commander. Usually a commander’s only job is to lead, not dig up chests.
I like to think that some guilds with 100% rep requirement don’t know how to keep their members active/interested, so they constantly harass you to stay. If you don’t like your guild’s rep policy and don’t feel an attachment to them, it’s ok to leave.
I’m never ditching my staff elementalist. I didn’t like it at first, but once I figured out how to blast combo fields and geared up properly, oh boy it’s a lot of fun seeing everything melt from meteor shower. And I don’t care if I’m squishy because that actually makes me pay attention to my surroundings.
Guardian is fun, too. It’s the only class I’m not afraid to take into a dungeon with a pug group ha.
I keep 7 chickens as pets irl and I love them! So yes I’m all for chicken tonics and minis. The chickenado is cool but you can barely see the rooster.

$30 max. HoT doesn’t seem to have enough content to warrant a higher price tag.
Norn’s the only race I’m missing so I’ll go with that. Would much prefer asura, though, because I love their animations.
E for expansion!
I thought this boss enjoyable compared to the ones from previous chapters. The second phase did give me some trouble, but once I figured out I was supposed to take out the shadow minions the rest of the fight was pretty straightforward.
That said, ANet needs to tone down the AOE spam for their boss fights. It’s not fun having to run around to avoid damage while trying to figure out the fight’s mechanics at the same time. Not all classes have reliable speed boosts or infinite dodges.
Glad I was able to help!

The event chain is still farmable, it’s not like the champs were removed.
I like completing the event.
How many times do you need complete it? I don’t mean to make a personal attack but I do question why you are there if not to troll the farmers. I checked earlier and found a map within minutes that was not being farmed and had people doing the event to completion. So I think this thread a bit disingenuous.
So you are saying there’s now a limit to how many times a person can complete events in this game? Then what happens, get labeled a troll? There should not be any event in game where a person wanting to complete it, no matter how many times, should be labeled a troll such as you are trying to do right now with me. So no, I’ll keep completing it because completing events is fun at least to me.
You’re dancing around his/her point.
It’s strange how Coiled is suddenly the most important and fun event in all of Tyria. I swear, once it’s nerfed nobody will be there to complete it other than people who need LS, and that’s not many.
2 years into the game and targeting is still bonked lol. It never wants to pick up anything that is standing right in front of you – not even champs or elites. No no, the random trash mob from a mile away is more important. Sigh.
Funnily enough his friend’s name is The Griefer. They also turn their commander tags on so they’ll be even more visible. If that’s not obvious trolling I don’t know what is. (Also I hope I don’t get in trouble for naming people x_x)
Not to mention the secondary character Greefa. In fact, while I don’t condone threats, exploits, or false reports, your guildie seems like a troll and somebody who is actively trying to ruin things for others.
No kittens given.
I’m not quite sure how my guild member is a “troll” for helping others complete an event? Events are there to be completed…
Anyway, regardless of your misuse of terms like “troll” – the real issue in this thread is that people are mass-reporting other players for playing the game in a legitimate way.
Greefa and friends don’t complete the shaman/totem part, which is actually the part needed for LS. It’s difficult to tell if they are genuinely trying to help or trying to get a negative reaction from farmers. I feel like it’s the latter in this case. They stand around and mock everyone via chat or emotes. They never announce in map chat that hey, if you need LS come and get it now…
You’re right that mass reporting is an issue and probably the wrong thing to do, but what do you expect from a group of players whose farming are constantly being interrupted by trolls with no lives? Farmers aren’t failing Coiled to troll people doing LS – it’s just an unfortunate side-effect and a result of poor planning on ANet’s part. I’m also wondering why they haven’t fixed it by now, considering how quickly they fixed Blix, an event that doesn’t block story progress if failed.
(edited by Faereilos.5106)
It’s fine if you want to complete it, but if you do just say something so people don’t think you’re trolling. I won’t get mad if you need to do LS (not every farmer is a big meanie head. I know some are but most don’t care). The trolls, however, complete the defend event and doesn’t help with escort or shaman. In fact, they disappear as soon as the majority of the farm leaves. They’re jerks through and through.
Only other way is to buy gems with irl money. How much gold do you need, though? I could send you some.
Firstly, your screenie shows nothing at all.. was there a point to showing it.
Ssecond there are legitimate farm spots all over the game.. in fact the poster you responded to you even mentioned the FG champ farm was right at the end of your nose, which you choose to push aside in preference to not having to do anything other than stand in the same spot and exploit a reset timer.
What you want is a never ending exploitable farms to satisfy your greed, jut like BLIX and in doing so it plants the seed in the developers mind on how to restrict any kind of loot flow in the game going forward.. so they will undoubtedly make another attempt to patch the event but it may now also make them consider how loot is distributed within events and outside in openworld trash mob kills… going all the way back to “all I get is porous bones, wtf that champ no drop looty… etc”Fact is farming loot and mats in GW2 isn’t the issue, there are a plethora of events that can be scaled for better loot chances, there are many champs on respawn timers with a variety of champ trains running them all the time, there are larger openworld events such as temple chains and then there is world boss timer rotations.. where in all that is there no opportunity for farmers to enjoy their fun fix (I also like to farm btw) – nah what your expressing is the enjoyment of exploiting event mechanics 24/7 without any effort purely to satisfy one’s greed – and you will do/say anything you can to try to protect that… but if ANET’s way of dealing with the issue is to just ignore it or at best patch the hole rather then rooting it out at its core then the game will no longer require any content development or direction because it has everything it needs in one exploitable spot where we can farm all the mats we need for our legendary our crafted Ascended gear, our lvls, our karma and our “FUN”.
NOTE TO ANET – Please don’t bother developing anything else for the game, instead please focus all effort on resizing the standing room area at the Coil event so that every man and his dog can crowd in there. Additionally please consider raising the map cap to conveniently allow tenfold the amount of players to congregate there in an effort to make it a proper ingame community.. maybe add some butterflies for us all to count while we hug each other during the momentary rest time before we once again set upon grabbing mooar phat loot 24/7.
Screenie showed who was fueling the toxicity in the first place? Someone even asked the griefers if they were helping peopled do their LS (which is fine), but they didn’t respond to that. Two wrongs don’t make a right.
I do temple chains and open world bosses, too. Unfortunately, temples are always open and world events are largely unrewarding, not to mention boring. If I’m lucky I’ll get 5g a night oh wow I can totally buy Twilight in five more years, while people who farm dungeons or manipulate the market has 8k gold, all ascended gear, and 10 legendaries. Of course I’m going to defend the only place where I can have fun while getting decent loot for once (lol you don’t get that many T6, dragonite/empyreal or karma for doing Coil quit exaggerating). I mean, would you still do events again and again if they reward absolutely nothing? People complained that LS mobs don’t drop loot, when the whole point of doing the LS is for achievements and the story. We’re all greedy and selfish to some extent.
ANet needs to make succeeding an event actually rewarding and penalize failure. That’s all.
Elementalist seems to fit your play style, so definitely give it a shot. Mesmer, for me, was fun for a while but the lack of mobility, overall dps and build variety made the class tedious to play.
It’s not the farming that is a problem. It’s this event in particular, which is part of a story mission.
Nah if coiled wasn’t attached to LS somebody will still scream exploit. Just like Blix.
And the farmers will just find another event. What does nerfing coiled solve? If ANet’s game design doesn’t naturally pull players to farm where they’re supposed to, then the design has failed.
I’ve been to CS plenty and got a truck load of porous bones to show for it.
This is what happens when ANet nerfs everything and refuses to have designated farming spots. Farmers can’t farm without interrupting people who want to complete the event. Although, the only toxicity I’ve seen is mostly from the griefers. Example below… Three appropriately named commanders showed up to grief the farmers. They don’t care about coiled watch; nobody did until it became a popular farm. Same thing with Blix. The ones that screamed “omergerd exploit!111” were actually trolls who get a kick out of ruining other players’ fun. I bet they don’t even hang around Orr anymore.
Uh. You do realize that there is a champion farm rout in that EXACT SAME AREA that is run regularly right? But I guess that’s not good enough for you.
But nono, you have to farm an event that is needed for not only several achievements, but for progressing living story as well, like you have the god given right to do so. And incidentally those things are by design, unlike fail farming it.
FGS train isn’t as good though. One champ box nets 1s, plus some junk stuff. Subtract the WP fee from that and you’re left with very little profit. Also it’s boring. Coiled trash mobs drop heavy icy bags, greens, blues and lots of copper/silver. Why do you think people farmed Blix instead of the champ train in Orr?
And I never said I have the god given right to farm there. I’m just pointing out that we need farm spots to be separated from LS content or whatever, else there will be conflict. Still, you can’t blame or stop people for farming a profitable event.

Phase 2 champs do drop loot, but not the ones that has too much HP. I know this because I farm them :P As for leeching…well, the farmers keep the champs occupied. When they’re left alone, they kill people taking down the ice wall and the golems.
There used to be a daily that required you to make combos with another player. It confused the crap out of everyone, so ANet eventually removed it. It’s not the players’ fault that a core mechanic is never fully explained in-game. I mean, I didn’t get the hang of combos until I started playing ele recently.
^ The reward will be low level.
ANet wants you to buy more inventory space, obviously
…But…but I like my hobo sack. It gave me the impression that I’m off on an adventure through Tyria. Leaving home and all that jazz. kidding aside, I don’t mind the hobo sack at all.
I like my hobo sack too But I wouldn’t mind being able to customize its colors and appearance.
I want male armors that actually resemble their female counterparts. I mean look at the female Winged set …it’s basically an elaborate bra and panties with a butt cape attached. You’d expect the male version to be as just as revealing oh noooppe it’s an ugly robe. Same goes for Feathered, Conjurer’s, Embroided, Koda, Acolyte, Whispers, Profane and Masquerade sets. Heavy and medium are ok as far as equal skimpyness is concerned (except for that underboob armor ick).
No, you’re selfish for purposely downing yourself and expecting other players to waste their time rezzing you.
There is a cooldown on the stunbreakers and I have seen Jormag’s claw fear four of five times in a row, so there is no stunbreaker left for me. Pact-gun also has a cd on its shield and rolling out of the animation to break the cd feels like an exploit to me, so I don’t do it.
Not sure why you think why that’s an exploit. All skills have a 3 sec recharge if they are cancelled too early. The shield is made to protect against all of Claw’s phase one attacks. Use it to its full potential, and spend less time getting feared/killed by ice spikes and more time taking down the wall.
I sort of want to see world bosses to have map wide pre-event chain like Modniir. Imagine chasing Shatterer across Blazeridge, with each stop having different objectives like defending, escort or something more creative idk, then finally concluding the event in one epic final fight. It gets the zerg moving rather than standing afk in one spot. Of course, the rewards need to scale with the time and effort spent.
@Andred: I run world bosses multiple times every day, skipping Teq/Wurm mostly because I don’t know how to do them. I’ll give them a try one of these days if the drop rate is as good as you’re implying.
@pdavis: See you still have to buy things to get anywhere. Sure you can farm everything yourself but it’s inefficient compared to buying. The only (somewhat) expensive weapons I’ve managed to gather mats for are whisperblade, vision of the mists and the anomaly. The mats required to make them can be farmed reliably or are easily obtained in the case of ectos. I don’t mind grinding to get what I want, but there’re only so many risens I can kill before the amount of porous bones and hard leather I get make me question my life.
As far as stuff to do? There is plenty to do. Tired of doing a 15 min dungeon run? Try doing the same run, but clearing every mob. Did you also know that some of the dungeons have hidden areas and secret bosses/encounters? Try to find them all!!
Working your way toward ascended or a legendary? Instead of farming gold through dungeons and buying what you need, try farming for ALL of it. Everything can be gotten in game, and at a decent pace, if you know where to go. Try to get the belchers bluff title. Or the yak slapper title. Why not try to solo a complete dungeon, every path, while using say Nomads gear or something?
I think OP’s main gripe is how unrewarding the content feels. What’s the point of clearing dungeon mobs if they are harder than bosses and don’t drop anything? And if they don’t drop anything, how are you supposed to work toward the legendary? I have 2.7k hours logged and I have yet to see a full stack of T6 mats (don’t get me started with lodestones!) Your suggestions are fine and all, but for someone who has a goal to work towards, they just feel like distractions.
Is it true that its 100g per hour, that’s crazy, I don’t think Europeans know about this exploit yet, I’ve asked in cursed shore a few times about the blix farm at peak times and nobody knew what I was talking about. Although the whole megaserver thing has really messed with the european server anyway, Communication has become way too primitive to even organize an effective farm.
Some guy from EU posted a video about Blix on Reddit. That’s how the majority of NA found out about it. As for profits…Lmao it is nowhere near that. I make 10g an hour at most (not selling t6 mats) IF the farm even lasts that long. Granted my MF is pretty low, but you get the idea. There are players that can’t tag anything so they make even less.
