The problem is in the path between you and the game server it is not an issue with Anet’s servers so the only recourse you have is to contact your ISP, hopefully with enough complaints they will pass it on to what ever entity that controls the backbone between your ISP and Anet’s ISP where the problem lies good luck.

Don’t think you will get an official response from a dev tonight but if this was effecting just one player I would suggest deleting the local.dat file but with more than one im not sure if that will help.

Find a guild that does the things you like to do and join, get on their voice server and ignore the in game chat. Some of the best time in any game I spent was playing and talking directly to the people I play with. Find a guild that uses TS3 or Ventrilo avoid guilds that use Skype there usually kids anyway. People can be rude in most online games but if you get in a more mature guild they don’t tolerate bad behavior and will kick the rude ones even if it’s in game guild chat.

Without seeing the full ping path there is not much anyone can help you with contrary to what a lot of people will tell you the final ip that gets pinged will be the game server and will show 100% this is normal most severs will deny the ping request a return a 100% packet loss. How does your PC connect to the internet it is possible that your nic card when out or your if you connect over WiFi you are having issues there, try connecting directly with your router with a cable see if that helps. Also viruses or malware can have an effect on your internet.

When is the last time you had the case opened up look like an overheating issues open up the case and blow out all the dust. If its a laptop check the air flow path use canned air blow it out. Check the temps of your system, there are several free app for this, CPUz is one also if it’s a PC you might try reseating the card remove the card from the slot on the motherboard and put it back in. Also make sure all your drivers are up to date including the commonly over look motherboard drivers.

Because of the 3.5g memory limitation of of the 32bit version of Windows you all are getting the OOM error (Out Of Memory) error, so to fix this you need to reinstall Windows with the 64bit version. This will allow access to at least 8g of ram for games and apps instead of 3.5g in the 32bit version also the game will run extremely better on a clean install of Windows with just the game and the latest drivers if you don’t have the 64bit version you can download it. The product key works on both version you just need the same flavor like home premium, pro, or ultima and if you have service pack1 or not.

Try deleting the local.dat file located here:

Then run the game it will creat a new one maybe it got corrupted. This will also set all your game setting to default.

Anet and Ncsoft may be forced to charge a monthly fee for this game and all other online free to play will have to also or ISP will start tearing there services and we will have to pay a premiums to play online gaming or both. Even the monthly subs like WoW may have to rase there rates let’s hope this does not happen but you know it will anyway for greedy corporate America to make more money!!!

You have chopped of the most important part of the crash log, the part that tell what OS you are using so I will assume you are running a 32bit version of Windows you need to reinstall with the 64 bit version the reason is the 3.5g limitation of the 32 but version. The 64bit version allows up to 8g of ram to games and apps.

What AV are you using if it’s Norton or Mcgaffees just get rid of it and get the free version of Avast or Windows Security Essentials works well to. Also, I hate to say it but you may need to do a clean install of Windows to get the game to run this is what most people with your issue has done an it solved it not sure why this is but there is something going on that’s blocking the download and a clean install of windows will fix this. Since you might have to reinstall windows now the time to get a Solid state hard drive, if you don’t have one. SSDs are really cheap and reliable under $100 for 120g drive plenty of room for windows and the game, this will improve load times when in the game and zoning times as well.

Are any of you on a collage campus internet if so you will have to contact the administrator to get the issues fixed also check your router, GuildWars2 requires TCP ports 80, 443, 6112 and port 6600 to be forwarded.

You could try to disable your firewall in your router and windows but the list of fixes for that error code says to contact support and submit a support ticket.

Sound like your router is not forwarding all the ports the game needs.

Haven’t played the game for months and decided to play a bit again but was forced to halt my efforts when the launcher fails all attempts at patching all the patches I’m missing.
Some 17 thousand files are apparently in need of download, yet the launcher is stuck at 0.00kB/s and doesn’t bugde at all. Tried to disable all my firewalls and still no reaction. Problems logging in into the launcher as well, mostly it hangs and stops responding, forcing me to kill the process, resulting in a archive scan upon next boot before trying, and failing, to download any patches.
I once succeeded loggin in, but still no patch began downloading, still 0.00 speed.
Baffled at the problem. Have experienced slow patching before, when it took a while for it to pick up speed, but it’s dead in the water here.

Have you disabled all your security measures like firewalls antivirus or at least add the game to the exceptions list. In your AV. Some people have had to completely uninstall their AV to get the game to download or patch. Also make sure the game is running in administrator mode.

Try deleting the local.dat file located here:

C:\Users\*\AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2

Then start the game, the game will creat a new one with all the. Default settings.

Ive been having this problem for a week now ive tried all the fixes that are plastered over the forums nothing works… ive re installed game 4 times now, and im still getting Massive packet loss at dallas1.level3.net. The game crashes are becoming more and more frequent. just tonight ive crashed 6 times. and disconected 12.. its getting beyond a joke.

Looks like you are getting packet loss threw Level3 this is a internet backbone company that handle most of the internet traffic for the southwest especially threw Texas where the servers are located. There is no fix for this some have contacted there ISP to see if they could put some pressure on Level3 to fix the problem. Not sure if Anet has anything they can do to get level3 to look into the problem but I’m thinking that anyone having this issues may want to email their pink path logs direct to Level3.

The only fix is to reinstall Windows with the 64bit version you are using the 32bit version that has a 3.5g memory limit that is causing your OOM error.

Well there is one thing that could be causing the prime time lag, the weather, it has been cold lately so what to do when it’s cold out, read a book, watch TV, surf the internet/online gaming. “ding ding ding your a winner surf the internet/online gaming”!!!!! I would bet that internet traffic has been very high lately because of the cold, board people stuck inside with not much to do.

This is most likely caused by the way your keyboard is designed not a limitation of the game. You may need to get a gaming keyboard to be able to do what you describe

It sounds like you are getting internet prime time lag, not sure there is a fix you may want to contact your ISP. Also try running a ping path test could be packet loss on one of the many hops it takes to get to the game servers. Now you will most likely get 100% packet loss at the last ip this in not Anet servers causing the issues like most people assume and completely throw a fit and blame Anet it is the servers denying the ping request for security reasons most servers do this. The packet loss is most likely coming from Level3 an internet backbone company that handle all of the internet traffic threw most of the southwest US. I’m thinking everyone that is experiencing packet loss with Level3 should email Level3 with their ping path Logs.

You are getting OOM error (Out Of Memory) you need to reinstall windows with the 64 bit version. Windows 32bit has a memory limit of 3.5g no matter how much ram you have installed in your system. The 64bit version will top out at 8g or mor depending if your running home premium, pro or Altima.

Make sure the file didn’t get set to read only, this happen sometimes when copying files, also make sure you are running the game in administrator mode.

I hope it’s guild hall and personal housing and please not a cookie cuter style of housing but something you can build and design from ingame crafting mats.

No do not delete the gw2.dat file you may want to try the -repair command first but it may just be your system is to old for this game. I play from time to time on a pro two quod processer and bairly get 30 fps. Also make sure there is not anything running in the background that may open a window like Skype, any IMs or browsers. You migh try disabling your antivirus while playing anything running in the background that uses resources will have an effect on the game with such a low end system. As a last resort you can do a complete clean reinstall of Windows, run nothing but the the newest drivers and the game, this must likely boost your fps.

Well then update The driver from the NVIDIA web site.

Let’s not get to crazy over this thing the pic looks faked and there are a few typos so don’t think it’s real but if it were real would be a cool thing to spend laurels on.

Try the -repair command in the GuildWars shortcut target field maybe the patch got corrupted in the download.

Yes the good old fresh install of windows, fixes everything, anymore it’s just best to reinstall window. Every time I can’t figure out what’s up with a system I just do a fresh install “problem fixed”. I would bet that over half the issues posted to this forum would be solved with a fresh install.

did a memtest as i read somewhere this could be a RAM problem… RAM usage during gameplay isnt excessive. I run battlefield 4 at x64 just fine.

I also moved the gw2 folder from my spare hdd to my boot ssd. Load times improved but still crashing. Not even getting the bug reports come up anymore….

Might just do a reinstall and see what happens.

It sound like you may have a defective SSD check with the manufacturers web sit to see if there is some app or way to test it. I think I read somewhere that you shouldn’t use scandisk or defrag on SSDs, also I assume you reinstall windows when you installed the new SSD did you get all the latest drivers including the common over looked motherboard drivers.

Did you try running scandisk and defrag on your hard drive also check your ram with Mentest you will need to download and burn it to cd the let it boot your PC and run for 24 hr or at least over night.

You also may want to check with your ISP see if the didn’t change something on their, end also how do you connect to the internet if it’s WiFi try running a cable to your router and PC see if the problem goes away.

Now did just reinstall the driver or did you update the driver?

What version of Window are you using, if it’s 8 then you need to upgrade to 8.1 then you will need to update your video drivers should solve your issue.

When you updated to 8.1 did you update your drives as well there is a know bug in 8 that has to do with the curser effecting game fps 8.1 was suppose to fix this, but I think there was a video driver update to go with the 8.1 update.

Take the cover off your PC look on the side of the power supply and it should have a label with the watt rating you want to have at least 600watts. Also while you have the case open check for dust build up PCs are dust magnets even just miner amounts of dust in the heat sink fins can reduce airflow and cause over heating. This should be check at least every other month, even in the cleanest houses you will be amazed at the amount of dust that gets sucked into a PC. Get some canned air, take the PC outside and blow it out especially the CPU fan and heat sink and the video card fans and heat sink one more thing you might want to do is reseat the video card and memory sticks by taking them out of the slots and putting them back in this helps for a better connection to the card and motherboard.

what version of windows are you running?

You may need to re apply new heat sink compound to your cpu, over time the compound will dry out and lose efectiveness especially if your CPU runs hot a lot. You will need to clean the top of the CPU and the heat sink do not remove the CPU from the socket. There are many YouTube videos on how to do this.

You need to reinstall windows with the 64bit version you have the 32 bit version the 32 bit version has a memory limit of only 3.5gigs the game needs more the that to run. Also it is vague on how much ram you have I think you only have 4g so if this is true then you might want to get at least 8g of ram.

You need to turn off 3D stereoscopic rendering in your NVIDIA card utility.

Ok download and burn memtest95 to a cd set your system to boot to cd and let Mentest run for 24 hr or at least over night could be a bad stick of ram. Do not check with any of the windows based memory test apps they are not accurate do to windows and other apps with protected memory allocations.

It may be your video it says intel HD Family not sure what this means but you need the intel HD4000 or better.

First off what is your system specs including power supply rating and version of windows 32 or 64 bit?

I wondering if. There is 2 separate installs of the game that may be cause some kind of conflict, one on the SSD, and the second on the standard hard drive try uninstalling the game threw add remove programs. Make sure to back up the gw2.dat file to some other folder to save re downloading time then delete all traces of the game folder on both drives. Then reinstall the game to your new SSD and when it get to the long download close out of the game and copy the backup gw2.dat file into your new game folder.

All the ingame setting are stored in the local.dat file, it may have been corrupted try deleting it. This should set everything back to default when you restart the game it will creat a new one then you will have to adjust all your ingame setting to how you had them before.

Don’t listen to the trolls on this forum the game is quit playable I get good fps on my i5 with GTX650 video card I get 30 to 80fps with most setting high, yes with any game there is always room for improvement but the game performance is ok. If you are getting low fps on a mid to high end system then you may want to check you hardware the might be issues. There are people in my guild that play on older systems and get less than 30fps, still play this game and enjoy it you can complain and say the is not optimized well maybe it’s not or you can tweak your system and the In game settings till it works for you and have fun it your choice.
