I think that Legendary armors could and should be Fissure of Woe armors. THAT would be awesome!

Good job adding boss timers for raids....

Better to do a timer up and scale difficulty up as time goes on.

Lets groups that aren’t fully Zerk still have a chance and possibly forces Zerkers no not go in with Zerk gear. Doesn’t mean groups won’t but the possibility is there to happen.

I was going to say that I believe I heard that there was going to be no LFG for raids so your experience was going to depend entirely on your guild. However it looks like someone more or less beat me to it.

I will add though that I’m not at all convinced that druid will find a home in raids. So far from the little I got to raid in the wee hours of the beta there was a need for boon stripping and condi application. Full on dedicated healers weren’t a priority. This certainly could change but I suspect that even if it IS the case the inclination will to be to take the class that provides the minimum amount of healing required while providing the maximum amount of dps. I am doubtful druid will ever fill this role.

I could and hopefully will be wrong as the entire spec seems to be geared to this endgame. Time will tell.

Nah I can’t see LFG not happening. Otherwise you couldn’t have commanderless squads which they have said you can have. And all you have to do is put a LFG in the open world content section and there it is. I imagine your answer to that is you can only have 5 in a group. That’s easy to get around as well. Simply have Raid Party 1 – Joes group and Raid Party 2 Joes group.

And as someone else said somewhere if the Druid fails to fit in each of the different areas (PVP, WvW and PVE) then it fails overall.

This is a stupid thread.

Who cares about any of that? Go find yourself a good guild and none of that is relevant.

Sorry you think that.

I am in a number of good guilds. I know FROM experience of OTHER games that REQUIRE healers for certain objectives that what I have posted will happen in this game. I was in good guilds in those games too. I saw FIRSTHAND what was said to me and to others if they failed in their healing. Which is why I and others switched to DPS classes and then those guilds wondered why they couldn’t find healing classes.

Will you experience this? Maybe not but you have a high chance you will.

I am perfectly okay with those predictions as long as we are required. However, I think everything you stated is a generic healer thing not unique to druid only.

you are right about “a generic healer thing” many other games have this issue hence why when GW’s 2 first announce no ‘pure’ healer class I like many others rejoiced.

However being wanted/required is subjective to ability/internet speeds/and what you want to play as VS what you are told to play like it or not.

Just added a 4th prediction.

Druid not worth it!

in Ranger

Firebird Gomer.9563

My point was that druid is an addition to ranger, not a core aspect of it that you absolutely need to take to play it.

Core ranger still has problems, certainly. But the elite spec wasn’t going to be a straight upgrade that fixed core ranger’s problems. In fact it shouldn’t be. Ranger needs to be improved. It needs it’s traits and utilities improved as well as some tweaks to certain under performing weapons. Adding an elite spec that fills the same role core ranger fills would only serve to make core ranger worse by comparison.

In an ideal world ranger and druid would be taken in the same group for providing different benefits. Ranger would provide good DPS while druid provides healing support. To use your WoW comparison, ranger is feral druid while druid is resto. Both are viable but fill different roles in a raid and/or pvp team.

But if the elite spec was just a straight upgrade to ranger DPS there’d be no point in anyone ever using ranger, and that would be sad.

That’s a really good statement and well said.

Fixes are needed for both Ranger and Druid. I think for most people a few more AoE and a bit more DPS for Ranger.

For Druid most people suggest better boons/support than buffing healing higher.

Druid not worth it!

I see raids becoming;
2x Support Druid... Something like this
2x DPS Auramancer Tempest
2x DPS Chrono
2 x DPS/Aegis/Blind Guards
2 x Pure DPS builds

In another post this is pretty much what I predict. Minimum 2 druids. No straight rangers allowed unless there are 2 or more druids and only if they can’t fill the spots with someone else. And the other thing that I predict is that if the heals of the druid fail to keep up the druids will take all the blame for party wipes which will lead to griefing and elitism. (yes I know there is that now but you wait, it will get worse.)

I have only once been kicked from a party and that was cause it was a fractal scammer. I’ve only had one real instance of being complained at for my class and that was I having a bad night due to a lag fest.

I really almost never get complained at playing ranger because I know what I’m doing. But I see in the future: “why haven’t you joined as a Druid” “when are you changing to Druid.” “can’t you see we don’t want a ranger and we have enough druid’s”.

Here is my own statement: most rangers will not want to play druids. If druids are really mandatory for raids as Anet seems to state it, then raids are done. If they change raids to adapt for the lack of druids, then druids are a complete failure and it is possible many rangers will leave the game. And if druid are not actually that mandatory for raids, then they are already a complete failure, because they are not good at anything else.

Agree’d

kinda like what happend with guild wars 1, with the monks, but the problem is guild wars 2 is not set up for a dedicated healer, everyone can heal themselves, why bring a druid when i can bring a revenant who can do better dammge and decent healing, rangers are pretty much screwed, and this is the last beta, so theres really no way to fix this calss and tested before the game comes out in 3 weeks.

I think they are going to have to do another Beta. Cause so far Raids and Squads haven’t been working well, and not many people have actually had a go at raids.

So I feel that I need to point this out for everyone to see what will happen because of the Druid Class.

1: Rangers will not be allowed to take part in Dungeons/Fractals/Raids unless there are more than 2 druids in a group. Oh and only if no other class can be found first!

2: Druid Class will take all blame if party dies even once. It won’t matter if you have a bad internet connection you are still responsible.

3: If you don’t move to the specific spot to heal the person that is taking damage at the time they are taking damage you will get yelled at, this while your healing someone else at the same time.

4: Griefing and Elitism. This will run rampant on Druids. They will be picked on and put down.

5: Prediction 5 is a little late someone already said it in this topic, but I will use it anyway. Go join a good guild. This will backfire when people in those “good guilds” start asking for Druid and no one will want to go as it because they got abused last time.

I know that there are more for me to predict but I can’t think of them at the moment but will add more over the next few days.

Omg not this kitty again!!! Stop with this already please.

you dont like healers dont play it!!!! Stop whining about a healer specialization being good at healing and not good at damage….

You need to understand WHY people don’t like it. Is healing bad? No. Will it be bad if a druid is MANDATORY in raids? Then yes, since it defeats the whole purpose of this game.

Developers are the people that choose any “Purpose” in their game, and those chose Healer to be a needed role in Raids as well as making it a useful role in other parts of the game now.

I didn’t choose a healer class. I chose a DPS class. Because I know from experience what happens to those healers.

If your internet connection is bad and you have lag and can’t keep up with healing and the party wipes who gets the blame? Healing Classes.

This is not making a useful class this is making the oppotunity to grief and blame other people for not playing well no matter whether or not their internet connection is good or bad. And another thing that IS going to happen is that if I as a Ranger main who has played 1134 days (at time of post is everyday without missing a day from launch) turn up as a ranger to a dungeon or raid I will be expected to change to druid whether I want to or not. This is not a choice this is having no choice in how I want to play.

Another fact is when I went through the Silverwaste Story line to get to Verdant Brink I got lumbered with 3 menders and a husk to kill by myself. It took me 5 minutes to actually kill 1 mender by myself so if ANYONE thinks that Druid has enough DPS go fight 3 menders and think again. I have never had a problem killing 4 or 5 menders as a straight Ranger.

Why the heck you soloing with Druid and Staff, than come to forum to whine that it doesnt do Zerker damage? Lolsssss

you could have easy switched to Bow/GS….. for solo…..

I wasn’t soloing the story through choice. I was soloing through no one else being there to fight.

I was in the midst of fighting when I realised that Druid is not strong enough to outdamage 3 healing class if you have no help. I could have run away sure but I prefer to see what I can do with what I have setup. I guess if I’d been stuck for 10 minutes or more I would have OOC.

Also I haven’t come to whinge I came to point out your arguments are flawed in the realization that soon anyone who MAINS Ranger are getting punked as we will not have a choice in how we play.

Also that Healing class is a bad bad choice for a game that has had, since the release of the game, a belief that every class is self supporting and that a Trinity setup is not required, and that once again healing classes WILL take the brunt of all complains about party fails.

As I said to your first post about not playing a healer, I chose a DPS class not a healer class but now MY class of choice has been lumbered with that what I don’t want and I will be lumbered with being made to play what I don’t want in the area’s I want to go.

I find it amusing that where one set of people have problems with one set of equipment other set have no problems.

I use a Nostromo and a Naga. Both by Razer. I run a original Z Board Keyboard. Both the Naga and Nostromo have been used for 3 – 5 years with no problems. I had problems with Logitech Keyboards where they failed after a short amount of time. I moved back to my Z Board and have used that for about 8 – 9 years with a single hiccup.

I always wondered about the Orb-weaver but as I didn’t think and couldn’t find any info on if it had the jump button I never thought to buy it. So thank you for showing me that there is a Jump Button. I like the thought of extra buttons. The Nostromo could use more for sure. There is the option of Tartarus as well again tho I am unsure if it has a jump button.

I am thinking of getting a Death-stalker Ultimate.

With the fact that HoT looks to have more F keys for Rangers and Mesmers – It might be time to upgrade.

The Razer Tartarus is mini update to the Nostromo. I bought the Tartarus second and Orbweaver last and let me tell you those mechanical keys +5 extra keys do make a upgrade. I look back to my nostromo and i cant go back to it lol even though it was my first razer product

I have tried the naga and the keys feel too small and squish. I have tried the Razer Hex but the overall mice is too small compare to my mamba. If they would made a mamba shape mice with 4-6 mechanical keys on the side that are not too small ill even pre order it.

The Early Naga was definitely a small mouse. I don’t like the Hex. The newer Naga’s have the option to make it wider via different side hand grips and makes it better for larger hands.

I know that we can be in 5 guilds, I know that guilds can have up to 500 people.

But what about those people that don’t want to be in a huge guild. Or even those that are in a huge guild that have 2 – 3 or even 10 guilds

Could we have a return of Guild Alliances like we had is Guild Wars 1. The option to have shared Guild Chat between different guilds would be awesome. Sharing Guild Hall resources.

Letting small guild’s help each other do Guild Missions and coordinate them through alliance chat.

Please.

(unless your in Vinewrath’s area and then if you die you can’t get back in at all if you waypoint)

First of all, this is simply not true. I have WP’d dozens of times during the champ encounters, and have always been able to run back in. Plus, even if you can’t get back in time, you still get full credit. It’s a win/win.

Secondly, the dead do count toward scaling up the boss fight, at least for a little while. Since we don’t know how long it takes for the boss to descale in this instance, it’s better for you to just WP if you are dead, mostly because in these big fights, (Teq, VW, etc.) there are going to be more than just you dead. 5-10 dead can seriously hurt a boss encounter, especially if everyone is stopping to rez them.

I actually enjoy rezzing ppl, and will do it if you are simply downed. Everyone should as it is relatively fast and gets them back into the fight quickly. But if you are dead, WP.

Well I don’t know how you got back in past the vines that BLOCK the path after you’ve first gone in. I have quite a few times been disconnected come back in only to find Im blocked from Vinewrath AND i don’t get credit. Also one one of the paths I died 2 times due to lag and when I WP’s and ran back i could not get in and again I didn’t get credit. So if you got in well done but I know others that haven’t gotten back in as well.

Why would you want to sacrifice 5 decent players to revive a single bad player?

Sorry that’s a terrible statement you make there. What if its lag? does that make someone a bad player? I don’t think so.

I agree always Say Thanks for getting a rez.

Every time I see someone pause and say something after I’ve revived them, I think, if you have time to say something, you should be paying more attention. Then rarely, an AoE or something just happened to spawn and they die again.

I have seen plenty of people saying TY while being rezzed so your arguement here is a bit flawed. The other option is to get rezzed get out of danger then say TY when ready or having started 1’ing again.

A bunch of time I rezzed dead people in teq who are just afking. Usually it is better to say thank you when people rezzed you so people know you are not one of the afk people.

Lag can also cost you a life as well.

Rezzing someone moves you up the agro table, making you a prime target for nearby mobs. Since it takes so long to rez a person, the odds are the rezzing will get you killed also.

I rez dead people all the time. I very rarely die. I might have to dodge and come back but thats not hard to do. And when others help its actually quite quick to rez.

If 5 people rez someone in 20 seconds you have 6 people back fighting vs 5 people fighting and one person running anything up to 3 – 4 minutes.

Did you forget scaling exists in this game? If there are 15 people dead within range of the boss, like Tequatl, its health is increased to account for them. However, if they simply waypoint away to revive, it will adjust for the new, lower amount of people. There is no DPS loss at all when you do this.

So you see, you’re suggesting that 6 people not dealing damage for 20 seconds is the same or better than 0 damage lost. It’s not.

Furthermore, no waypoint takes 3-4 minutes to run back from.

Nope I havent forgotten scaling. And the change between one person being rezzed and running back wouldn’t change the amount of defence or health, a extra person would however help with DPS. Im fairly sure that it scales at certain numbers not just 1 or 2, more likely at 10 people disappearing it starts descaling. Also I found this interesting statement “Events can detect that players have not performed any actions relating to the event within a period of time and will scale down the event accordingly”. So if the dead are there and not moving for a while it starts to descale. Quite an interesting piece of information that.

Also your right it’s probably not anywhere near 3 – 4 minutes (unless you dont have a nearby WP). It’s probably between 1 and 2 minutes (unless your in Vinewrath’s area and then if you die you can’t get back in at all if you waypoint). At which point Rezzing the dead becomes important.

This will become even more important it they change things in HoT’s to be more like Vinewrath. Not rezzing a person may mean the difference between success and failure.

I imagine that the statement “we don’t rez the dead” is not the plan the Dev’s have for reviving people. I remember when for the first year you could guarantee people would rez you Dead or Downed in the middle of a fight. Certain groups and fights forced this mentality into the norm.

So I would like to suggest a change to rezzing. To go back to the way the game was at the beginning is simple. The arguement that it takes to many people away from DPS is false and flawed. If 5 people rez someone in 20 seconds you have 6 people back fighting vs 5 people fighting and one person running anything up to 3 – 4 minutes.

Give a buff to those who willingly rez the dead. Make it worthwhile to do it. Increase MF. Give a Mastery Point for 5 Death Rezzes. Increase Chance to get an Exo. Anything that might change the mentality of this.

Firebird Gomer.9563

Well I’m not sure about them using the same ability.

The only thing I saw the Ranger/Druid to was slap a staff to the ground and have some vines pop up. Maybe you saw more than I did. No wait I remember something like that now when the shining blade were running through the forest trying to get away you could make bridges with the druids. That should be great mechanics for Druids. We can help build bridges and help our party run over the top of enemies with mini bridges and never have to fight them.

the GW’s 1 wiki says this about Druids.

The Druids were a group of Krytan humans[citation needed] that long ago moved to the Maguuma Jungle in order to live with nature. It is said that they are devout followers of Melandru, though this is only rumors. According to the History of Tyria, they were forced out of jungles in the long distant past by other humans. They were last seen by others sometime before 982 AE and mysteriously vanished decades before 1072 AE. Although generally believed to have been killed off by the jungle’s predatory plants and animals, the Druids actually shed their physical bodies to become one with nature. The Druids now exist as spirits, appearing similar to Oakhearts.

Now its all cool that they were in the jungle and that’s where we are going. But that still doesn’t mean that ONLY rangers HAVE to be that.

Again EVERY Profession could be EVERY Spec its already there. Shared Weapons different skill sets.

And also I’m not fussed about what the Ranger becomes I’m fussed about what I cant become and whether or not some other profession gets it. =-P

You don’t have to agree but I’m still allowed to Dream, Hope, Wish and have my own opinion.

Actually I thought the Warrior or Guardian more than anything else would run Dervish style.

My point is that I would like to have a specification on the profession I play not the one I don’t play. And knowing my luck if they did do a Derv Spec it would go to a class I don’t play. And I am allowed to have a opinion.

Also sharing Spec’s to all the classes is totally do able and easily made to make each base profession different from each other. It’s all to do with the weapon skills and utilities and elite skills. Its already there with different professions using the same weapons and yet having different skills on their weapons.

Also and this one is just for the ones that say Ranger has nothing to do with Derv (AND IS ONLY A BIT OF FUN) Most of the clothes worn by Rangers are long cloak or dress like clothes. just like a Derv =-P Perfect for the spinning dance of the Dervs.

Also just so you know A Druid isn’t anything like a ranger either.

Here is a description of a druid:

A druid was a member of the educated, professional class among the Celtic peoples of Gaul, Britain, Ireland, and possibly elsewhere during the Iron Age. The druid class included law-speakers, poets and doctors, among other learned professions, although the best known among the druids were the religious leaders.

They don’t sound anything like a ranger so no I’m going to have disagree with the people who say that a Druid fits the theme of a Ranger. You shouldn’t watch so much TV it can make you think one thing is the truth when its actually a lie.

Ok so thanks for your input people.

My Only Sadness With Specifications is...

I run a Ranger.

What if a specification called Dervish is run only with a Mesmer or a Guardian.

This would be a sad sad day for me as Derv is my main from GW’s 1 and it is the only profession I want to use more than Ranger. (And I really like my Ranger)

Anet your scaring me please don’t make Dervish anothers Specification. It belongs to the Ranger. (Not trying to be entitled or anything just saying is all).

Also I think that you should make all Specifications available to all professions (at least eventually) So we can choose what way we wish to go. That’s true choice.

specialization only for level 80s?

From the reveal, it would seem so. Specialization is a type of end-game progression for top level characters. What it looks like is that after you level your Hunter to 80, only then can you develop him/her into a Druid.

Whats a Hunter? There is no such profession in GUILD WARS 2.

There is a Ranger in this game.

Please at least use the correct profession name that is used in this game. Not one used in some other game, we don’t want to confuse people with incorrect names.

Thanks.

Teeny Tiny Expansion

What is being given(based on what colin calls major features) in this expansion is somewhat similar to what we have been getting in feature updates and very small.

One new profession. NO new race. No new dungeons. (we got fractals for free!) Another region comprised of at least 3 maps(southsun cove, silverwastes, dry top, all free.)

Just cause they didn’t say it doesn’t mean there aren’t any. And its more than likely there are a few. But no-one outside of Anet knows yet. Same for how many map locations. No-one outside of Anet knows yet.

Specializations (only one weapon added to each profession and not giving universal weapon usage amongst all professions.)

Again there isn’t a lot of information on this yet. Speculation hopes for more than one per class. But if its only one we can hope that its one PER expansion.

Guild Halls, should have been in the game at launch. Stronghold , same thing.

Undeniable for Halls! Stronghold within the first year yes. However Halls didn’t have to be BIG and could have over time been enlarged.

CORE GW1 was released with so many of these features plus TEMPLATES!

Actually Templates didn’t come in for many years I remember being annoyed that I couldn’t save setups and the day they did release template saves the GW’s 1 community cheered with great gusto. Also there were LOTS of things that were NOT in GW’s 1 during the core game’s first few years of life that should have “been” (according to the community).

I say expansion is too big of a word for this.

Again not enough is known. So how can you say this? Are you a Anet developer? Have you seen the “expansion” in full?

I would rather call this
" If you don’t buy it you will be left behind." I will buy it of course but it just doesn’t feel right to call this small DLC that could have been free an expansion.

Apparently the sales in China did not make any profit for Anet to keep the dream alive.

Really feels like I am paying for a fix. A reason why I didn’t buy Diablo 3 expansion.

Wait lets call it Paid Living Story

I think this is your best suggestion (yes I know I have taken it out of context with the rest of the line of text.) But the point stands. WAIT and see.

Hey all.

Every now and then I hear that people want more Dances.

The easiest way of implementing this of course is the How to Dance Volumes from the Gem store.

Did the first one sell well? I have no idea. But to be honest the dances weren’t all that great. They weren’t bad just not iconic enough like they should have been. (Well actually the shuffling song dance was in there and that was a reasonable dance).

Want to make more of these to sell in the Gem store put in dances people will want.

So here are my requests for Vol 2 please feel free to add more in.

The Time Warp (from the movie Rocky Horror Picture Show)
Thriller Dance (Michael Jackson)
Gangnam Style (song dance)

What other dances can you come up with?

Let us wear outfits + regular helms! :3

Its definitely bugged for me. I’ve done it 10 – 15 times and cannot get this achieve. Every time I go in one NPC is unrezzable for me. and that’s in Solo play and Group play.

My guess is that the volume one didn’t make enough cash in the store that there will never be a volume 2.

There was little to none animations on the first edition to begin with.

Well I see a lot of people using them so I think they did sell well. But if there was a better range of dances it would increase sales. Especially if Thriller or Gangnum Style or something equally popular was in Vol 2.

Around 8 months ago I made this forum post:

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/archive/suggestions/How-to-Dance-Vol-2-Suggestion/first#post3130614

And so I thought it was time to once again ask for people to put forth suggestions for how to dance Vol 2.

Here was my original post:

So for How Dance Vol 2 I would like to ask peoples ideas for what dances they would like to see.

My first suggestion would be the Time Warp dance from The Rocky Horror Picture Show. My second request would be some other Bollywood dances from movies like Kuch Naa Kaho or Aladin.

What would you like too see for new dances?

If you consider that ascended weps the armour also came out you will see that the casual player is being forgotten.

EDIT by casual players I mean playing less than 4-6 hrs per day.

I play less than 4 hours a day and I have ascended armor and weapons.
