Well, now we have the hawk wings, I finally got to do an Archangel (I had been waiting on the black wings but these are so much better imho). I love the brown on the wings so went for a bronze armor look. Hope you all like it.
Sorry about the crappy shot – My screen shots all come out really dark so I had to lighten the picture.
There is no such thing as an “Unlucky” account. Each roll of the dice is a completely separate event that is not dependent on anything that has happened before it.
That being said, I get your frustration. But the whole point of the MF is to remove gold from the economy which benefits everyone, and it does that bloody superbly (don’t talk to me about how many rares and exotics I’ve flushed chasing Dusk which I DO NOT EVEN WANT! lol)
I’ve never known a computer game that didn’t operate on RNG for loot.
Just stick with it, you never know, you might finish it off in the next stack!
P.S Luck is just what overly optimistic or pessimistic people call probability.
It all comes down to risk vs reward. You can get the item in the forge(Potentially low cost but high risk of never getting it), get a drop (Zero cost and very high risk of never getting it) or craft it (high cost, zero risk).
I’m sure I’m not the only one who misses the former glory of Ascalon and doesn’t feel right about killing the ascalonian ghosts..
Ok.. So what if the Foefire was not just about killing Char and turning Ascalonians into ghosts? What if that was all a side effect of what Adelbern was REALLY trying to achieve… To reach into the future and bring back an army(that would be us) to a time before the searing to stop it from ever happening.
He didn’t however, count on Charr being a part of the army that was bought back.
This living story could involve us traveling BACK to the original pre-searing from GW1 where we would act out a story that not only brings peace between SOME charr and humans but also ends with stopping the searing from ever occurring.
Following the event the Charr would still be based in Ascalon, but Ascalon and all it’s cities and towns would still be standing and the humans and charr have lived in peace for decades.
Bought them straight away, had 800 gems waiting for the blacks to return for my Archangel Gaurdian. These are waaaay better. The detail is superb.
Nope. The game is about how well you play, not how often.
Legendary weapons are just for people who want to think they look cool.
Thanks. Helpful.
Seriously?
Look this will never work but hats off to you for such a noble idea!
Not worth the time and effort? That’s pretty much what a legendary is!
All it gets you is some special effects, that’s it.
Grab am ascended and let’s go smash down some champs!
As for the mats needed, they are Legendary Weapons and supposed to carry prestige (I dont really see it that way but many do) the price is supposed to be high).
Should the 99.999% of players who are careful with such a valuable item have to click through a warning when we forge because of the 0.001% who make silly mistakes?
Salvaging rares and exotics already drives me nuts!
This is pure nanny-state stuff.
It happened ONCE that we know of and after support looked into it the items were given back (and the player is now up 166 gold).
Not sure what all the fuss is about??
The player didn’t get the items back. And yeah, they let him keep 166g out of the 400ish gold he had from his items selling. So, he’s out the 300g they took away, plus the listing fee he paid when he listed the items some months back. That’s kind of a crappy deal.
Yes he did get the items back. It says so on the reddit thread. There is no problem here.
Good that Reddit is such a terrible format that i don’t even understand what posts
are newer or older and how to find out if there are any new answers buried somewhere
in a thread. That format was okay 20 years ago when you had maybe 5-6 answers in a thread
but not when there are hundreds of posts.
Reddit is annoying but on to more important matters: Your name is FANTASTIC!
You are one of the few people who would know why Cobalt is the only sword skin I use.
The people ranting over this crack me up! It’s NOTHING! And the odds of it happening are truly staggering!
Yes, If an RMT accidentally buys some almost worthless items for a HUGE amount more than they are worth you may have some trouble with support because it looks suspicious.
And YES! If someone loses a venomous pet snake in your yard at the same time you are looking for your kids favorite toy snake that they lost which just happens to be the same size and colour, you may end up in some trouble there as well!
But honestly, I don’t think either situation is really worth worrying about!
So in answer to the questions asked by the OP;
Seller beware? Nope.
Avoid the TP? Nope.
It seriously never occurred to you to google “Empyreal Fragment Farming” before posting this?
As I’m sure you can see above, the problem is not getting them. The problem is storing the bloody things!
You won’t make moneh levelling, although selling what you craft while levelling certainly helps take the sting out.
Once you can craft the time gated materials you can make a very decent profit.
What’s the essay on?

Why make ANOTHER mount thread? Theres already a thread for mounts.
He isn’t after mounts to just make travel faster. His idea is to use them to advance the combat system…. I think it has merit.
Hmm… While normally I belong to the “not needed and not gonna happen” brigade, but you’ve given it a nice spin… I don’t mind this idea at all.
What about a new map where EVERYONE is mounted and the mount type is determined by your class and each mount has different combat skills…..
Could actually be awesome! Not as a way of transport, but a new type of combat and something a little different.
I loved GW2 and GW1, in fact the only other MMO that I remotely enjoyed as much is the now (sadly) defunct shattered Galaxy.
Here’s what I think sets GW2 apart.
1. You can play CASUALLY! With GW2 you never get stuck doing stuff you don’t want (unless you absolutely MUST have snow swirling around you or cannot live without a big black surfboard on a stick). You can just play the game how you want, have fun and end up with pretty decent gear BUT If you really want to go for a few sets of ascended gear with +2million infusions and 27 legendary weapons you can do this too.
2. You can party with characters on ANY level! My kids and my girlfriend all play. My kids kind of suck and love character creation so much they are still to get a toon past level 25. Despite this, my twinked out L80 toon can still run with them and they receive no penalty for doing so and I even keep collecting experience!
3. Gem store. I was FURIOUS when I found out GW2 had a cash shop and almost bailed on the game entirely. Once I started playing I saw that there is NOTHING on the gem store that gives an advantage in game and NOTHING on the gem store I cannot buy by converting in-game-gold.
4. No real GIMPS! Unlike every other MMO’s I’ve ever played, there are very few builds out there that are so kitten that they contribute nothing to a team. Even the worst builds can help in SOME way. PUGing in GW2 is safer than in any other game.
5. It’s a beautiful engaging world. Like GW1, sometimes you just find yourself wondering what’s around the next corner.
6. TEAMWORK! Everyone in this community works together because that is how the game is designed, it’s CRAZY. When you go down, peeps get you back up, if the people at Indigo are getting hammered, help will be on the way. Instead of, like in other MMOs, where other people get in the way, steal your loot, kill the the boss you want e.t.c In GW2 people will use the LFG to get as many people in their map as possible!
If you take out the extremely negative comments this is a GREAT idea!
One of the BEST things about GW2 is that it provides an MMO which can be played well by casual gamers and this is just one more way to help them!
They do this is DDO which is Waaaaay more complex than GW2 and it’s really useful, every load screen gives you a quick tip about the game.
It helps newbies and casuals without being annoying to vets.
Didn’t you read the thread yesterday? They made gw1, 2 and 3 and all the expansions years ago when they had heaps of developers and now run a skeleton staff to just do the required maintenance.
Lol.
My one wish would be that the artists take a bit more care in future designs and realize that no matter how “cool” a sword design looks, at a certain point the line is crossed into design absurdity.
This
I’ve noticed the same thing but I doubt they’ll fix it.
If that makes you wrist hurt how to you feel about those ridiculous ‘Legendary’ surfboards on sticks? I wish their was a setting to make them thinner you like…. well a sword.
Til then I’m stuck swinging cobalt by the very bottom of the hilt!
Welcome back.
Two words : dodge roll. In GW2 you don’t just stand there whacking away, use your dodge roll, learn to time it. Then get better at, then get better again
Check out the Wiki for the latest updates.
As for what to sell / salvage. Heres what I do.
White green and blue gear : salvage for luck and mats with a basic salvage kit.
Yellow worth less than 30s on tp: salvage for ecto with masters salvage kit.
Yellow worth more than 30s: sell on tp.
Orange : depends…. you will come across these further dkwn the track. When in doubt, hold on to them.
Bind it to your mouse wheel! Only legal way.
They just put a title in the game called “Killer Queen” for killing Karka Queen when HoT came out. Seems pretty fun to me considering it’s an obvious nod to one of the best bands (and one of my most favored songs of theirs) in the world.
I MUST get this title. you will be one of the very few people who will understand why
A LOT of people who just bought gold and couldn’t even get themselves around the map had FoW armor. Remember all the paid Taxi services in GW1?
