To be honest after three nights playing with DB i think they have already accomplished something even though they’re losing. We used to have SEA overlook’s capture daily achievement in EBG during our march from tier3,2 to tier1 months ago but that didn’t happen with this current match-up so far. DB is able to hold their foot grounded on the map they’re chosen to field ppl in.

PVT is a good start. But you should, after 6 months be running a mix of knight and berserk

Tips, DnD in WvW

-Learn how to use Lightning flash(LF) to get up cliffs

-Learn how to use LF with e5

-Learn how to switch to w4 after hitting e5 for fury

-Learn how to use chill on other ele to increase CD timer on attunements

-Learn to use food and oil

-Learn to use e3 and a4 before switching to fire

-Learn to use immobilise(earth signet) followed by a4 rtl ,a5 then a2 then e3, e4 then f3 ,f4 and f5

-Water elemental attunement snares,heals.

- Learn to use only one cantrip.

- Learn to stack sigils with easy to kill coyotes

Really not what I was looking for Being skilled won’t stop them from roflstomping you either. Definitely not on a staff ele. I know what ele’s can do to a zerg but even then when there are 50+ running towards you. It’s impossible to stop them. Although Static field always makes for good fun.

To be honest the numbers I am regurarly faced with are much bigger then what I call "a fair large group’. Maybe 30-40 is more accurate.

I sadly have to support the fear here. So far everything Anet did on Elem class went strickly against what they said, not even slightly away from the intent but purely AGAINST what they’v announced.

So eles get the one nerf patch that brings them into line EIGHT MONTHS after release and it’s a knee-jerk reaction? That’s gotta be a Guinness world record of slow reflexes.

Sorry, no. All ele nerfs in late April were WELL overdue. Anyone with a brain could see that. The only ones who don’t like it at this point just can’t play without their OP. Ele is still a very strong and extremely versatile class.

Try and make an argument for consistent burst cleansing of all your conditions at will, or a bugged RtL that travelled 350 further than it should have and was on a shorter cooldown than any other movement skill of its type. You can’t. The only thing I’ve seen out of these forums is, “QQ but it was my fav way to play!” … yeah, you and about 99% of the other eles who ever went into PvP of any sort. D/D bunker was overplayed for a reason.

They took their time and identified the EXACT sources of the d/d bunker build’s OP; its insane movement and ability to purge conditions like they weren’t even part of the game. I’m surprised it took them so long, actually.

I can’t believe there are still so many tears and fears over people losing their OP though. Amazing. Be positive guys. Since the exact problems of the ele have been sniped, they can now look to buff some of the weaker traits in order to make things interesting. There would have been no reason to buff anything in the ele’s arsenal back in April.

Repeat after me – virtually nobody in context of the gaming population plays pvp – so most comments won’t be regarding that. (I’m actually wrong here – the same 500 or so posters prattle on about PvP like it’s something holy… but it’s always the same people.)

Also, you’ll find that we don’t all want to be D/D bunkers. We want options – so far every single update has removed options, and channeled people into the bunker spec.

Simply put , if u lose to an ele who is not dnd, you are bad. Really bad. They need to fix that view

I don’t think people remember several months ago when Free Transfers were still around and people and guilds would hop around servers weekly on EU and NA looking for better fights, just because they could.

Can’t blame anyone for wanting to come to this matchup, the fights thus far have been phenomenal. I’m sure its a lot better than facing off against two demoralized T1 servers for another tedious week. Still haven’t encountered a lot of DB myself but theres hordes of Blackgate to fight on every map, its been enjoyable.

If random mismatches are the future of WvW, touring might just become a trend once again. Seems to me stacking servers has become an obsolete meta.

If ANet is going to keep throwing these bizzarre matchups at 21/24 of the NA servers (I don’t know enough about the EU side to know what’s going on there) they should open up free transfers to lower populated servers or discount the gem price to “Highly” populated servers and let people shop around and actually enjoy the game.

I humbly disagree on the generalization that was made. Myself and many others on JQ are fiercely loyal to the realm. Regardless of what the randomization brings i know many of us will stay put in JQ and ride it out.

Idk man, I was on HoD, I was on SBI, when a server is faced with big problems.. the majority of hardcore guilds will look at what is best for the long term growth and enjoyment of their guild over everything else.

I wasn’t really referring to any JQ players, because things are a lot different for us ATM than they have been for past T1 servers and guilds. Also there is really no reason for any of the WvW guilds on JQ to transfer off, and quite honestly nowhere to go thats worth going too. JQ is in great spot still in terms of our opponents and the cooperation among guilds on the server.

Ah yes. HoD. You are right to say that a total collapse of the wvw population in a server has occurred before, you are also right to note JQ is in a great spot. If only we had a great EU guild transfer over, it would be awesome. *Redguard, /wink /wink

They just need to lower the chaotic deviation once the ratings actually shake out a bit and get rid of the awful cancerous growth that is the last seven months of stagnation. Once that’s done, lower the div will lead to very little variation in any given week and limit the bounds to within a tier up-down, but also allow servers that implode or suddenly surge to climb the ranks very, very quickly without ten months of playing glicko2.

Very good suggestion. Right now the Randomization factor points towards
+/- 2 tiers up or down.

I would rather +/- 1 tier has you suggested.

Ele DnD is still PWNing almost every 1v1 ,small grp fights and zerg warfare.

They want to make sceptor and focus more viable. At the moment DnD is still the king in wvw.

Holy crap… As a DB native, I am just excited to have a good match up and see how real servers play WvW. I don’t expect us to do great this time, but this is the best way to learn. Though, I find it interesting that a few JQ members are acting like they are the best thing since sliced bread when BG is clearly owning everyone. It should be an interesting fight the rest of the week. Hopefully, DB can learn a thing or two so we can be can get up to par with the rest of T1.

I love your attitude going into the match and hope you have a great time.

I for one, don’t at all think that JQ (or myself) are the best thing since sliced bread. We have a very big coverage hole through one timeslot, but even if that weren’t the case, BG and SOR would be adversaries that deserve respect, since both have beaten us more than once and we have beaten them.

The reason JQ has so much energy around beating DB is not because of transfers of JQ players to DB. It’s because of the way that those transfers happened, which included some of the most disgusting, deceitful, mean-spirited, narcissistic junk you could possibly imagine. Many of the leaders that transfered and not a small number of the people that followed went out in a full-on scorched earth style.

They not only trashed the community and those who stayed behind to lead, but they actively continued to berate and trash talk their former guild mates and server community. In our guild, former leaders sabotaged the guild forms, posted insulting personal attacks and the people that volunteered to step up and try to salvage the mess they left behind, and continued to actively undermine my own communities attempts to move forward at every turn.

I’m not a mean person, I don’t want these people to suffer for suffering’s sake. I actually don’t want them to suffer at all. I want them to be held accountable for their reckless disregard for the human beings behind the avatars, the real people that they lied about, slandered and hurt. I do not want them to be rewarded for being narcissistic ego maniacs and actively trying to see that my guild family failed.

I’m so pleased that we did not fail, instead we have a better guild community than we ever had, we are respected in our server community not because we are god’s gift to WvW, but because we support and respect our other guild partners rather than treat them like tools. And we are growing, to the tune of 20+ new members in the last four days. I’m proud that all their efforts to undermine us failed.

I know there are great people on DB. I don’t paint you all with the same brush. Having said that, you happen to be the server that these people chose after acting like the most colossal kittens you can possibly imagine. Because of that, you can hardly blame us if we are highly, highly motivated to crush DB and experience some satisfaction doing it. Mind you these ex-JQ leaders were the people promising that with their brilliant leadership DB would be T1 in a matter of weeks (because its all about them) and how superior their brilliance was to an entire server.

I just can’t apologize for being glad to watch them fail. But it has nothing to do with thinking that we are the best WvWers ever for feeling superior to anyone. I’m just extremely glad that their egocentric idiocy is not being rewarded. I hope you can appreciate that, and I look forward to seeing you out there.

Really? Db has learned nothing we already knew we weren’t ready for T1…

I have been on for about 12hrs and saw very few RE, perhaps they were having a rest day?
