Bottom line is the Better server has won and is continuing to win. Numbers or map coverage is not the reason, the excuses are old and boring. Only solutuon is for the 2nd and 3rd place servers to up the game to compete, whether they like it or not.

Numbers and map-coverage (or lack there of) contributes a lot to SoR and IoJ’s continual losses.

If TW is running away its probably because they have something more important to defend or its part of some ploy. They are by far the best open field guild I have ever seen and I think they like the challenge of fighting other real guilds rather than a bunch of scrub pugs.

Dude, go easy on the sweeping accusations! I’ve never done that and I’ve never seen a teammate do it. I don’t doubt that some folks on SoR did as you say, but there’s no pervasive culture of sleaziness on our server.

We’re probably over-represented in WvWvW enthusiasts, but otherwise I imagine our population is pretty much the same as any other GW2 server.

If you dont alt f4 this isn’t directed at you. This is directed at the group from a SoR guild that has members that repeatedly alt f4, even when they have the odds in their favor.

I dont doubt their are people on all servers that do this. I’m calling out those that rage quit when their engi gets wrecked.

dps means damage per second, its different than damage over time.

That would help immensely, or at least some details regarding where he hid over the duration of the 2 hours and cross reference with how he dodged JQ’s constant 2 hours sweep (given JemL’s informant to be reliable). Sad thing is, if the matchup this week is somewhat even like it has been for the past month, the matchup next week will again be identical.

How is that sad? An even fight is a good fight, and I really feel for whatever server ascends into the QQ fest that is Tier 1. T2 has been much more enjoyable.

This has been a fun week of wvwvw, with a very balanced matchup, the closest match I have ever seen. Lets not ruin the fun with childish shenanigans, because those belong in tier 1.

It is some sort of poetic justice to see SBI called out on all the crap its been throwing for weeks.

I don’t personally do this but I also don’t see how this is an exploit. It is using your professions ability to an advantage, no different from a mesmer portalling 30 people in a surprise attack.

The issue is not with the class abilities, its with using the class abilities in conjunction with the culling issues to achieve almost permanent stealth. To the best of my knowledge thieves cannot achieve perma stealth without the culling issues (aside from D/P)

The issue with mesmer portal bombs is not with transporting 30+ people instantly at the same time to one point, its the culling issues that come with transporting 30+ people at the same time to one point.

If player characters weren’t invisible when they should be visible, both of the situations would be fine.

I just caught a player (Rize Star from [DD]) taking a golem from the garrison, walking to the vista and dropping to the right onto the rocks. Once he did huge damage to the golem, he went into the water, swam to the kraits and ejected. I know SOS complained last week about people sabotaging them, and we had issues the week before. Keep eyes everywhere, poor sportsman running wild.

You’re missing a point that the golem was made by the member Rise Star of DD.
He’s not a spy of course. he was just playing around with the golem was made by Rise Star, and he was driving it around to learn how to operate the ‘Golem’. Than accidently fell off the cliff. I really can’t understand how a person make a golem with his own blueprint, check out what’s special about it, accidentally drops it into water, eject, than accused of being spy.

I’m really disappointed that a ‘commander’ has posted this sort of thing without verifying with us.

We established DD guild in SBI at the beginning of the open beta. we’ve been with SBI forever. I would understand if you didn’t know about our guild because we recently downsized due to activeness of members, and converted from wvw guild to pve/wvw/community. Get used to this kind of behavior in the tier 1 forum, any shade of grey is immediately called out as cheating or foul play.

wow really? so a server that has 90% coverage for a 1/3 of the time and 10% coverage for 2/3 of the time should be outright winners.

How do you come to these kind of conclusions?

Thats not how it works… 90% of players in one coverage period does not equal 90% of players for that server.

NA primetime is probably evenly matched, its oceanic and EU coverage that is the issue. If one server has a majority of the player base in these coverage times they get 1/3 to 2/3 of the day to cap everything unchallenged and build up keeps and towers, giving their NA teams an advantage.

Pay to win? Right now Legendaries are nothing but a rainbow shooting gold sink. Their stats are equivalent to AC exotic weapons.

They currently offer no advantage over regular gear.

I like this idea, I would love to play as a skritt, especially with all the skritt jokes already in game.

If you are going to invest in getting the Legendary staff Bifrost, use the mystic forge. As ThiBash said, its a very rare chance to craft it.

I think level 74+ rare and exotic staves are the materials and you need 4 staves per craft chance.

If you want it because you think its better than other staves stat wise, I wouldn’t recommend going for it. Arah and Citadel of flame dungeon vendor gear is equivalent stat wise.

I’m assuming this is wvw, and the players you are killing are most likely glass cannon or under leveled/under geared.

Against max level players with exotics in wvw your burst wont be killing anything but glass canon keyboard turners in 2-3 seconds solo.

And if you are running anything other than bunker you will be relatively squishy after that initial cc combo.

Nothing is broken (as in OP) for elementalists.

blackgate appears to be struggling without the aid of questionably obtained global buffs.

It has more to do with lack of players after the smear campaign last week but ok, you think its orbs. To each his own.

Even when JQ or SBI managed to get 2 orbs, their points didn’t increase more than usual, at least not until wednesday. Their oceanic crew did their usual thing at their usual time. You’d think with a 10% buff the scales would have tipped dramatically in their favor.

Our fair-weather “friends” started leaving BG wednesday of last week when the hackgate (didn’t realize servers with “mature” communities needed clever nicknames but again, to each his own.) shenanigans were at its highest point, about the time SBI started rallying. I’m not saying SBI wouldn’t have won otherwise, just the loss of BG’s wvw players at the time helped seal the deal.

During the 3-4 hour siege of JQ/BG v SBI at the bay yesterday the lord went all Leroy Jenkins outside of the wall while it was down. The lord died, wall was repaired, lord never went home, he’s just chillin’ outside like a boss probably saying “come at be bro!” “GET SOME GET SOME.!”

Many of the FoTM players began leaving us Wednesday. As I’ve said before, Blackgate rarely trashtalked on these forums until the transfers starting arriving 3 weeks ago. Add the native guilds who probably left after the witch hunt last week and you are fighting whats left over of Blackgate.

We have no where near the player loses HoD and ET suffered, but we lost some of our coverage.

I will address my server, you guys need to buck up. If we get last place (whether they 2v1 or not, IT DOES NOT MATTER), and we fight like hellions against them, we will earn some respect… Learn to be graceful winners and losers.

This is how Blackgate was 4 weeks ago, unfortunately our scrapiness attracted FoTM players and look where that got us.

When the Garrison commander went perma-immune on day one of a matchup, BG didnt whine about hacks, we played on as if nothing happened.

When the quaggans were bugging our orbs, we didn’t whine, we just kept trying and trying to cap them.

Removal of the orbs was a good thing, if only so the next FoTM server to get ruined by server hoppers wont take the backlash Blackgate did for the actions of a few.

This is evident in the lack of outcry from SBI and JQ for the hills incident earlier.

I don’t know if I completely agree with that. Badge gear as far as I can tell (haven’t been playing long, much less playing WvW) are meant to be almost like the elite gear for WvW. Elite gear should not be easily or quickly achieved, it should be earned. I do understand the annoyance of how long it takes to get any amount of badges to actually be able to purchase even 1 piece of gear. With the current dynamics of WvW (being that people spend more time taking strategic points instead of fighting each other) it can seem like it takes FOREVER to get anything from the badge gear. I wouldn’t mind seeing the rate drop from killing players and yes keep lords increased slightly, but to get some just from taking those SPs I think would degrade the value of the gear and take away from the achievement of actually being able to get some. It’s easy to get frustrated with how long it can take to achieve gear like that, but I think that it makes the gear more valuable on a personal level.

If I remember correctly, AC gear has the same stats as the WvW gear. The Jewelry are the only pieces not available for tokens elsewhere but WvW.

Farming AC (or at least each path daily) will get you your armor full (pow,vit,tough) set in about a week. 3-4 more days for weapons. This leaves Jewelry and Back slot.

Jumping puzzles give 5-10ish badges per completion and there are 4 in total in wvw. Use these to supplement your badge income.

Doing straight wvw badges will take you awhile and because of that, and the way they are currently looted it would be nice to at least have badges auto-loot. But for the most part the jewelry is all you really need from wvw gear unless you are going tfor the skins.

Just have their use limited to OUTSIDE the keeps and castles. It’s a cheeseball move to have to scan your entire keep just because there could be one mesmer /sleeping on the floor or in some wall structure.

It’s a valid tactic, and once the culling issues get resolved there really isn’t anything you can complain about. If your team can’t kill one or two mesmers than you really think you deserve to keep that keep?

KHAN had a lot of fun stomping heads and getting stomped in the EB jp, even with those kitten mesmers and their focus pull. Lets just say you were lucky that stonemist needed our help =D

Running Citadel of Flames and Arah can get you berserker equivalent exotic gear (Power, Precision, Crit %) which is essentially what you want in a glass cannon.

Saves you from buying ectos and gossamer/leather if you do choose to try glass cannon.

Glass cannon is great for defending forts with staff, as eles already are kitten near the best castle defenders. Glass cannon will give you a lot of extra oomph if you can learn to avoid aoe and cleanse.

For open pvp glass cannon will most likely get you killed if you aren’t running in a pack or you get the jump on your opponent.

I personally run a 20e/20w/30a defensive d/d build, it gets me through dungeons and helps me kill siege while being hard to catch. (d/d is awesome for mobility).

Its all really up to how you want to play.

This isn’t just a problem with that single match up. Every bracket in which one server controls all three orbs, that server has a MASSIVE point lead, 50k to 200k. If you look at the WvW history, you can see that this happens every single week.

Orb buffs need to be fixed, giving a huge force multiplier to the team that is already winning and has more population is possibly the worst game design ever to be published in a commercial title.

Correlation does not equal causation. The OP’s ss is of a match that has been one sided for just about the entire week. Now did SoS take the orbs because they just flat out dominated the bracket, or did they cap the orbs then proceed to dominate?

I’m guessing its the former. Most cases where its completely one sided, the opposing servers can’t field the people necessary to win. The orbs are usually only a small factor in that kind of domination. Microscopic factor.

Perceived exploiting isn’t the same as actual exploiting, and someone who wasn’t an eyewitness to the actual event can perceive things differently. Also generalizations and baseless claims are easy to make.

There wasn’t any fighting at or around Eth Hills where the orb was at before JQ got it. This is implies a bug/hacking/etc. Apparently this was a bug and not a server or person(s) consciously exploiting, but since it seems to be standard practice in this matchup to cry fowl at every perceived instance of “cheating” I thought I’d give it a try.

I just think its funny how there is almost no mention of this in the forums, yet when Blackgate benefits from orb bugs…. all kitten breaks loose. The forum turns into a kitten storm… All of Blackgate (which now are former HoD and ET) turns into kitten hackers…

Despite the fact that all 3 servers seemed to field only a few handfuls of players in EB last night (right before EU primetime), I’d like to congratulate JQ on leading us in circles for the better part of an hour capping and recapping bases, and pushing us back. It was fun and netted me quite a bit of karma and silver.

I can’t wait to see how these 3 servers fare against each other when the holiday events are over.

I can vouch for the orb disappearing when the carrier dies and another picks it up, the icon on the minimap disappears. I was in a orb zerg the last time we faced SBI and our carrier died. After the vanguard cleaned up the invaders I lost the carrier on the minimap but quickly caught up to our carrier after /T told me where he were at. (gogo d/d mobility)

This is a bug with the icon on the minimap not a case of Blackgate hacking the orb.

If you see them flying with the orb, SS it or go in with recording software (or get someone else to) and stakeout an orb. If there is legitimate hacking catch the guy.

But most the hacking accusations on here are nothing more than misunderstandings of bugs. If you weren’t there first hand, don’t jump in on the hate bandwagon. Let those with evidence and Anet sort this out.

We had eyewitness accounts of seeing people flyhack. You expect us to keep someone at the orb waiting to fraps it at all times? Also, how are we suppose to report players when we can’t even see their names?

And yeah WvW is dead. The score would be much closer if everyone were actually playing. We went through all of Saturday with no queue (not even in primetime on SBI). I can’t remember that ever happening.

You can place the exact time, location, and description of the cheating and toon(s) participating in your report. You cant see name, yes, but you can see race, server, guild, class specific buffs, armor type etc.

Anet can take this info (even just a few pieces) and easily determine if it was cheating and who was cheating. And yes, if its that big a deal (which it is) catch the guy. You can get a number of people to take shifts, its not impossibly difficult.
