Your track record when I’m not there doesn’t really concern me as I’m not a participant. You can do well, you can do poorly it wont factor in on my opinion because I am not there. Of course I’m basing my bias on my experiences, out of all the SoR groups I’ve faced Choo is one of (this phrase seems to ignored) the easier groups to wipe.

Choo did well? I never said they couldn’t do well. I was not online for 2 days during NA out of how many the last year so suddenly my point about a guild overall is invalidated? What an argument.

If I was truly mad would I point out why their open field tactic doesn’t work and causes them to wipe to inferior numbers? (hint check the wording of my previous posts as well). Wouldn’t I just use vague generic posturing such as the words “zerg” or “blob” to demean the abilities of the other server? I would love nothing more than to see Choo diversify their open field tactics, it makes fighting open field more enjoyable for all. (whom I only specifically called out in response to a Choo member running his mouth at a BG player running his)

My point, since it seems so difficult to comprehend, is essentially the same one you are making. Trashtalkers getting rolled by the ones they call scrubs, what does that make the trashtalkers then? If your guild has 1 strategy open field that rarely works, can you as a member of said guild honestly drop the word scrub as a chest-thump or retaliatory remark?

Blob seems to be the new buzzword, what exactly are we defining a blob as? “CHoo R gud, cus dey udder gais Blob not as gud” Is that 15-20 KnT and 10-20 EE? Less? More? What is CHoo running in comparison? How many non-CHoo are running with them? Could you by chance be a little more accurate with the numbers if you are going to use them as evidence for your point instead of dismissing them as blobs, zergballs, etc etc? Now I’m sure it was only Choo and TW doing the capping and waypointing while locking down the map, no other SoR guilds factored into Sor’s success in BGBL. This is mild sarcasm.

I still stand by my previous statement, Choo is one of the easiest SoR guilds to roll open field. They do a single, strong, but easily avoidable push and then their organization falls apart once their one trick fails to work. Which is why I was hinting at the irony of a Choo player attempting to lord over SoR’s collective success over the “trash-talking BG scrubs”.

Sure you can take this as an angry response to a non-gold medal finish (projecting much?) or you can take this for what it is, a response to a slow to adapt loot bag chest-thumping over other loot bags. And also a not so subtle hint that some open field strategies need to be reviewed as they are ineffective (or at least need to be diversified), especially when they fail time and time again. Failures that can now be addressed and improved upon.

250g to craft a single weapon? I made mine with under 50g, which was all the gold I had from launch until I started a 4-5 month break, coming back the day before the ascended weapons patch…

4 days to level, from 400-500 artificer a few days later I had all the mats for the scepter. I now have 3 weps and enough mats for several more as well as 2/3 professions maxed (last one is at 470), the only thing holding me back is deciding which I want next…

Farming the mats is quick and easy if you take a second to think it through…

Couldn’t they add like a storybook item or something hat lets you revisit this content in an instance?

Or even better, add a Priory NPC you have to do a one-time small quest chain (help him/her find an artifact or something and make it related, like a tome that allows the reader to relive pasts events) that will allow you to pick and revisit the content as a repeatable permanent feature.

Heck, even doing a small quest chain to find something to attune to the living story would be fine even if you had to attune each chapter separately (leftover flame legion items from the molten event or something).

This lets 1 time content have a longer life-span, keeps some items that are currently no longer attainable back in the game, and even lets you interact and assist more with an important faction of Tyria. Maybe have a variant of each quest chain for each of the 3 factions, with faction specific rewards for the amount of living story chapters you help recover/attune.

This feature could continually evolve as well… this needs to happen!

The bad apple individual in any case represents the whole community. A few people on TC exploiting a tower bug on EB and suddenly the whole server gets called out for it. A -certain- guild on another server is well known for hacking, they reflect baddly on the whole as well. Its how impressions work, and all we have to go on is “Tarnished coast XXX” or “Jade Quarry XXX” for names. As I mentioned earlier about the dolyak parade though, THE SITUATION HAS BEEN RESOLVED, THE GUILTY PARTY HAS APOLOGIZED, DROP IT. If you wanted to argue about the dolyak parade, you realistically missed your chances like 4-5 months ago when it was started.

Break the cycle and place any perceived blame on the appropriate parties, the issue I’ve been trying to comment on is the slandering of servers when a few bad apples skritt on people’s RP fun. “There was a TC guild [XXX] exploiting Y” is much different than “TC exploited Y”. If someone interprets the former as the latter well… that is a personal issue. Impressions are influenced by ones perception…

As I’ve said before, I don’t care either way about the parade itself being ganked. I actually was there when the parades first started up months ago and I dropped my 2 copper then, and nothings changed. Its a fun little tri-community event I’ve participated in myself but getting ganked is the risk they all take by having this in a wvw zone.

You can say the actions of individuals all you like, but JQ WvW’ers were informed of the event in map chat and TS. And those who did not wish to partake either stayed away from the event or gone to a separate BL instead of headhunting yaks like BG.

The whole defensive attitude about playing a PvP game as intended just throws GvG out of the window. Would you go to a GvG and attack the guilds as they are fighting? A more happen on a BL than just WvW. TC hosting a yak parade was an organized community event. The attack wasn’t people going out to play WvW and stumbled upon a group of red players. The ones responsible already admitted that they purposely attacked harmless tonic transformed players knowing it’s part of an event.

You are right, honestly I don’t care if wvw happens to interrupt a GvG. As fun as it is the maps weren’t meant for that particular form of server v server combat and their wxp and bags are fair game if a group happens to interrupt. Sure in my previous posts I have defended GvG’s when they when get jumped during a match, but thats more to rag on certain SoR guilds than anything >=D

The lack of a dedicated GvG feature is a failure on Anet’s part, but that is for another topic.

And yes, I can say “individuals this and that” all I like. Its a perfectly legit response for the situation. The community as a whole isn’t terrible if there are a couple bad apples. The community cannot control every player, and the player(s) responsible came forth and apologized, despite not actually doing anything wrong based on the mechanics of the game. Did they pee on someone’s parade? Basically yes but the parade is something extracurricular.

If a couple JQ had started headhunting Yaks at the parade would the JQ community be a terrible community because of that? No, would be an absurd claim to make based on what happened and I’m sure you’d be chased out of the forums for being that guy.

For the most part I agree (switching BG for SoR). I guess it all depends on what groups you fight open field, what BLs you run, what times you fight in etc. With even or less numbers there are some days you can cut down a SoR guild group like fine salami, sometimes their hybrid guild/pug zerg is like a brick wall, and every combination in-between.

I can count on 1 hand the number of FA guilds/groups that didn’t buckle under a BG push I participated in. But I only run certain maps at certain times. I don’t get to sample the entire FA bag buffet /shrug.

On top of this, it’s also a PvP zone. You can try and organize things like this, where players are supposed to be friendly, but that’s at your own risk. People are going to do what they want, and attack who they want to attack. There was also nothing stopping you from retaliating, I’m sure there were enough people there to assist with that.

If you do this and expect everyone that runs into you to support what you’re doing and not attack, there’s another issue here.

I 100% agree, I understand the frustration by some of the community but don’t get your kitten in a cradle about the BG server in its entirety when a few individuals decide to do pvp in a pvp zone during the RP parade. I do support the parade and if it was me I wouldn’t go around ganking participants as Yak Thursday is a fun way to end the week, but ultimately cross server bromanship isn’t what the Borderlands maps are for.

I still think its more determined by innate ability, while everyone can use magic to some degree some people would be naturally more proficient in an area of magic or none at all like the previous swordsman example.

I’m sure there are npcs with a specific class that have access to various other class’s skills and nothing really stops them from broadening their repertoire of spells aside from individual ability. Players however are just limited for game balancing issues.

Insane amount of materials? I crafted my ascended scepter 4 days after the patch hit… It was ridiculously easy to come by the mats and level the profession without bankrupting myself…

There was only one reason I’d ask people to ping their gear when they joined my dungeon parties.

That was to see if they were magic find leechers.

That problem is now solved. I see no reason to know some one’s gear any more.

The reason being you cannot ask people to ping their skill level. You have to see it in action regardless of gear.

Reason are speed clears. You cant do it if you have ppl in PTV gear no matter how skilled you are.

And why would you want to speed clear? Rewards are nerfed in farming dungeons such as CoF p1.

Only exception I would think of is FotM. But PUGing that at high levels is not really an option.

If you want speedy gold per hour. Champ farms are the new thing.

Because… if you only spend 6-10 minutes in a path instead of 30+ minutes you can use that time for other things…

For example, since cof gets tossed around so often… even with the nerfed dungeon rewards running 2 cof p1’s in 12-20 minutes total with an optimal group is more profitable than running 1 cof p1 in 30 with an non optimal group.

Its not hard to understand.

Are their more efficient ways of farming gold? Yes, but this is about TIME efficiency of a specific task.

Now I understand the purpose of the built-in LFG tool, its simply to form a quick party not necessarily an optimized party. Personally I would like to see a level filter, as I can see people kicking low-levels (actually seen it a few times in TA and AC). Regardless of whether you agree with the practice it happens and It wastes the time of everybody involved. I won’t care either way if it isn’t though, and if I want an 80 only party I can always go back to LFG sites or my guild, which is what I usually do anyways.

Another thing I would like to see is a check-able option with a filter system or a visible badge/icon in the LFG tool for the characters that have completed story mode and can unlock explorable.

20% MF is worthless if everyone has it. There isn’t anything in this game bought with gold that isn’t from the TP. So 20% MF on all accounts just means prices will rise to compensate. What matters is having MF beyond what you would have normally.

… Are you familiar with racial armor skins? Repair costs? Crafting mat/reagents from crafting trainers? Waypoint costs? Plenty of things cost a static amount of gold and nothing that happens to the TP economy will change those prices.

You can still obtain over 300% MF through food buffs (hey crafting vendor mats!!), guild buffs and various other things.

For the main topic:

Don’t celestial items still have MORE stats in their other items of equivalent level in their item budget even without the MF? The other item’s like traveler’s suffered an item budget loss that put them below other items of an equivalent level which is why they were given a 1 time switch.

If celestial gear still has an equal or greater stat budget AFTER the MF nerf on gear where is the complaint? Is it because people ONLY bought the item for the MF? A character’s effectiveness isn’t reduced at all and people are given a method to increase their MF beyond what the rings previously allowed (which is why a character isn’t really nerfed, and new characters get the benefit without having to invest additional gear and gold to achieve MF).

Yeah, and its just the blades. The hilts, cross-guards, and even the detail on the glowing patterns are nice, its just the blades… I don’t know if its the awkward thickness or the texture of the material. It just looks like it would shatter if you hit them against something.

I actually like the scepter, staff and especially the pistol skins.

This is the time of the day when WvW is ruined. I’ve been part of “karma trains” before and it gets boring fast. Not entirely sure how JQ can even enjoy playing the game doing this daily. I hope ArenaNet figures out how to make WvW competitive rather than it being ultra stacked server that pvdoors vs server that buys guilds vs server that actually competes and tries hard to win.

The native interwebians have a phrase for this. I believe it is “QQ moar”, or “get over yourself and quit whining” in our tongue.

And one must remember that games came out before WoW with AE in it. And even WoW had uncapped AE’s for a long time. Even they decided to cap them.

Unless Pandaria changed the aoe “cap”, WoW never “capped” aoe, they put diminishing returns on the damage when it was affecting 10 or more targets.

And even this could be circumnavigated by abilities such as the Death Knight’s diseases spread by pestilence.

Although this will probably stress out the already over strained servers, the 5 man aoe cap needs to be replaced with the diminishing return model.

About a week ago in EBG the skill lag was so bad that after the fight died down everyone had perma “quickness”

I’ve had a few cases in a 3 way T1 garrison fight where I will spike a downed player (apparently the finisher move isn’t inhibited by the skill lag), only to have him get back up, run around like a chicken with his head cut off at super speeds, and end up on dead on the other side of inner Garr with my rabbit-finisher banner in his face.

And then there are conditions persisting beyond their stated duration. I will run outside the portal door to safety only to have my hp continue to slowly tick down despite the conditions having 0s listed as the remaining time. All the while I am watching dumbfounded as my character slowly bleeds out from my hidey-hole, safely away from the zerg-v-zerg-v-zerg.

I’ve put myself on leave from the game until a resolution is implemented.

Unlike Jade Quarry native Wild Bill (who posted a video about how to exploit into towers/keeps) you have no evidence that someone from Blackgate is behind this.

If we go by your logic, Jade Quarry should be the one ashamed of itself.

But why would we use your reasoning? How can I or anyone blame JQ for the actions of one player? How can you blame Blackgate for the actions of a few players who you don’t even know the identities or server origins of?

Jade Quarry isn’t the only server this is happening too, its happening on TC as well. And as many know BG and TC are about as BFF’d as any two server communities can be.
