if you squeeze the leader then all you will get is retaliation from them, while 2nd place tries to create more of a distance between 2nd and 3rd. If BG were smart (from the perspective of a SOS player) they would go after JQ while SoS tries to keep JQ from coming 1st. Then BG wouldn’t get doubled teamed and remain very close to 2nd place, and SOS would maintain a comfortable lead.

Considering this is in the WvW forums, I think you missed the point. If you are using this forum to decide which server to transfer it isn’t far cry to say it is a WvW inspired decision. So WvW and server rating would be a MAJOR focus.

If you (or anyone) are looking to transfer for non WvW reasons, or just flat out don’t care about WvW or server rankings then why use this forum?

The OP just wants to preserve the WvW community of his server by discouraging those you who will drop Maguuma like a one night stand if the matchups aren’t favourable.

I spend countless hours in WvW daily and all of us would have nothing to show for that. Let me correct that. No gap closers that can be used out of combat. Not that sword 3 even works IN combat a fair amount of the time.

But otherwise mesmers do have few options to close gaps outside of combat. I recognize that with the first sentence of mine that was quoted.

I’ve had very few problems with sword 3, outside it dieing before i can use the leap.

Most bunker eles dont even use signet of air. Bunker eles have meager dps. They kill by attrition.

Eles get permanent 25% speed increase because unlike warriors, they have the lowest armor classification, and the lowest base hp.

Warriors can easily get permanent swiftness. Regardless if you have to trait for it. What you want is to have your cake and eat it too.

(Perma) swiftness (33%) overwrites every classes signet skill (25%) speed boost. Warriors can easily obtain perma swiftness.

Every class has something it lacks, and that is good. Even specced tankish warriors have good damage and mobility. Why would Anet give Juggernauts a permanent speed increase for free?

If I recall correctly Guardians are in the same boat as warriors. They just trade the high base HP for mitigation (aegis) and the plethora of healing options they get.

iCoa did stack a lot, and the tactic didn’t work at all against us SoR. I don’t know why they are still doing that after the healing nerf though.

Especially that last week, the stack (combined with portaling around the enemy zerg) worked wonders on any SOR guild that wasn’t TW.

FEAR seems to be the SOR guild with the best coordination after TW, and we spent the good portion of a day just wiping FEAR.

Just a suggestion for SBI and TC, unless the many SOR guilds aside from TW have their portal stacking counter tactics down pat.

Edit: I forgot to mention Choo being in the same category as TW. Both have amazing coordination.

lol this was what was done to TC in Tier 2 tho. Or have you forgotten? It’s the mechanics of the game, the third place server will always be targetted and both BG and SoR did this nonstop to TC.

It’s ok, in the end you guys got what you wanted and moved up a tier, there’s no hard feelings because it’s what you needed to do to get there. But life has a way of showing you different viewpoints, given enough time, and what you’re experiencing in T1 right now is what we saw when we entered Tier 2.

You could always dps the other player while preventing him from ressing via knockbacks, stuns, roots etc. while occasionally hitting the downed player (or using pets/minions/phantasms/targetable aoes) to interrupt the downed self heal causing him to bleed out.

You can also quickness stomp depending on your class/assistance from mesmer or guardian, orrian runes, and sigil of rage.

Apparently talking about WvW in a WvW forum is off topic. Interesting.

There were several issues regarding this in the threads for bg/sbi/jq. If the OP is not specific enough about what the thread is for the mods tend to over-mod it.

I.e. if the OP calls this a score thread anything but posts and pics of the score can be deleted without warning.

And looking at the OP i cant fathom what wvw discussion about bg/sor/tc would be considered offtopic.

I don’t lead a large WvW guild so I cant comment on “helping” them, but if I saw a scrap between SoR and TC I would target SoR first! I think TC is a fantastic server… They have a great attitude regardless of what place they come in, and they don’t give up. Don’t get your feelings hurt, it has been a great match-up, give SBI hell.

There is a lot of bad blood between SOR and BG. TC on the other hand are generally well received, its hard to have anything but respect for most of their playerbase (yes even the rpers =D).

Although we do smash red with high frequency, it is much more satisfying as a BG player when its Blue being smashed.

It seems Blackgate is one of the three servers not named after a location in gw1.

WvW is not a designated dueling zone.

Kitten, even a group of players following duelers around to gank them cant even be construed as harassment, as the point of wvw is to kill invaders/defenders and take their buildings.

I remember SBI screaming Hackgate every time a shade of grey was involved in any activity whatsoever in wvw.

I find it really amusing that during primetime, when the numbers are even in most Borderlands … Blackgate is usually in last place. Then, when America is sleeping and Blackgate doesn’t actually have to face any players, they gain all of their points. Doesn’t that make everyone on the Blackgate server feel dirty? That all of your points are gained by non-competition? If you ever move up to Tier 1 … it’s going to be a very sobering experience for you.

Your first sentence is misleading. Primetime is when all the BL’s have equal population? NA primetime > EU and Asia Primetime? In a 24/7 constant game this is a terrible view to have.

Even during NA primetime BG doesn’t trail to far behind, leading one to believe Blackgate’s NA crew is capable of holding their own. SOR and TC have some amazing NA guilds, some of which are more organized then Blackgate’s guilds, but there isn’t as much difference between the servers during NA as you imply.

And even if SOR and TC had oceanics and EUs there is no guarantee they would be as skilled as your NA crews. There is no guarantee that SOR’s/TC’s oceanics and EUs would out skill Blackgate’s.

200+ppt average for roughly 1/3 of the day (NA primetime) is a significant portion of Blackgate’s points, but I don’t think you see that. You just seem bitter over the advantage Blackgate has during your server’s offhours.

Don’t hate the players, hate the game… developer’s for allowing free transfers for as long as they have.

Subsequent posts reveal Maelwaedd’s intentions. I think he handled this situation (the initial post/contacting) the way it should be handled if he couldn’t find a SOR commander in game.

Although Mishi’s post carries a mature and neutral tone, continuing the conversation on the forums was the wrong move, and look as anyone could predict, there is hostility in some of the subsequent posts.

While there were instances of trench warfare, WW2 was not known for its trench warfare because of advances in artillery, aircraft, and tank warfare. Trenches and foxholes were still good to fortify positions for infantry defenders, but nowhere near as widespread as ww1.

Trench warfare is iconic with WW1.

The video he posted a week or two ago where TW held BG Garrison showed the pov of a thief, I thought he said it was a video he shot from himself.

Maybe his main is a necro, or maybe I’m wrong and it was someone else in his guild. I’ve seen that thief many times in BG BL running with the TW zerg and I assumed it was him.

Either way it was meant as a mild jab at asuran thieves being kitten near impossible to see.

I can no longer count the number of personal guilds my friends use for extra bank space on my fingers and toes, there are so many. True we can watch out for these players, but anyone with half a brain would be constantly changing tags for this very reason.

That and trying to spot a single asura in the middle of combat isn’t easy.

On an ele you don’t care if you get downed somewhat close to a keep/tower… you’re just able to mist form, go inside and be safe to heal/rally with no worries. Ele’s jump into the face of an attacking zerg knowing they’ll be able to mist form back inside.
There needs to be more of a consequence for an ele being put in the downed state.

It should just be made so eles aren’t able to cross inside those green keep/tower portals while in mist form. Being able to mist back to your team is fine… and still a very strong downed skill. At least people can still be chased and stomped in that situation.

Its not fair that eles are the squishiest class, and its not fair that their full dps spec is garbage compared to the other classes (except ranger lololol). Life isn’t fair kiddo.

Think of it as compensation for lacking in other areas.

Just seen a Blackgate mesmer tele port in BlueBriar and port right back out while it was ours, I was jsut standing up at top watching this I think its probably that he saw me so watch out guys.

Also another thing I have noticed 6 times we have hit the NW wall of the bay in Blackgate and as soon as we hit the gate (note we jsut hit the gate no swords come up) as soon as we start hitting we see people get up on the wall and start calling other. ?:?? can anyone explain this?

Only thing I could come up with was notifying the guild in game and if they don’t boot the perpetrator then open season on that guild with no support from their home server.

But yes, the whole exploit thing is a tricky subject and flares anger. I think before any of us post here pointing the finger, efforts should be made to contact the guild leader …. Even just to post here something like:

Would the leader of <Awesome Golem Gods> please contact me in game?

And give it 24 hours for response. It makes no accusations, because that request could be for anything, and shows effort is being made to be respectful of each other.

This is how adults handle issues. I hope more people take your suggestion seriously, as the incessant flaming would be lessened.
