I agree the mechanics of it is odd, having to get full adrenaline just to switch to it then you lose it? Only to have to get it back by that time youre done maybe get a skill off you guys should make it like death shroud or something. You need to drop a lot of other stuff just to spec in something that just doesnt last long enough

I haven’t heard much about EQ next since like 2013 is it even still being developed. The graphics looked so dated. Same with Camelot, it looks on par with DaoC!! lol

It’s because Rangers have super fast burst power and AOE and piercing arrows so we can attack lords and hit tons of players making us loot kitten. We also have little to no group utilities to help out a zerg and this game is all about Zergs and who can drop the most combos. I love my Ranger and yes I’m a loot kitten

I don’t know about the next big thing but I do know GW2 has become pretty stale and ANET made the mistake of announcing an XPACK which feels like 2 years ago….it’s taking waaaaaaaaaay too long to release.

Since they announced it so early people stop playing as much WvW and such thinking the XPACK was just around the corner. Now that they’ve talked about it for sooooooooo long it’s kinda lost it’s thrill factor. I have a feeling people will love it or it’ll just feel like another zone and people will be bored of it pretty quick.

Fallout 4 is out soon! Can’t wait

Yeah I was using the speed boost but you run out of energy so fast still couldn’t keep up with people and you’re stuck on that particular skill line, you should be able to switch lines on the fly like ele’s can

I’ve played since beta and yet to see a precurser let alone be able to double swap lol

This class is so slow running it’s painful

So after the update I seem to keep getting lost communication to login server every hour or so. I’ll be playing and the screen just goes black. Once I tab out I see the message lost connection. I don’t appear to be dropping connection. Reset modem, updated drivers and such. Rebuild tcp/ip stack and flushed dns. Disabled firewalls no go.

Any suggestions on fixing this? anyone having this issue?

I logged in and it seemed pretty much the same. Ranger cast speed is a bit faster. I’ll hve to see how bad my warrior is now for fall season. I was excited when I read “Switching outfits no longer requires an apply step or apply costs” but you still have to apply costs I thought changing would be free…nope

NA hasn’t reset why would you get tickets now. Season hasn’t technically ended yet.

Yeah WvW and PvE not spvp, I have no idea if putting one on an underwater weapon even fixes the issue, you go test since gold is no object and get back to us

Not really on JQ BL is 10 gold, 2 weapons underwater you’re looking at 20 gold per character, 100 for all 5 so…. more if you run Pve and PvP sets.

It’s a bug, if you’re suppose to lose stacks on weapon swap why does this not occur on land? only one of my weapons has BL, diving in the water is the same as swapping a weapon. Makes no sense to lose your stacks. I prefer not to spend 80 gold on BL’s and find out it’s a bug. An official response would be nice.

I did notice if you swim without diving so you don’t see your action bar you won’t lose the stacks but yeah this is very annoying, has anyone tried building stacks under water? do you lose them if you hit land?

It appears after the patch when you get your 25 stacks if you go under water they disappear and you have to start over again. Occurs in WvW

How long does it take to get your stuff back? I got hacked yesterday they sold everything on every toon and my bank even my bags! lol I got an email from anet said they will look into it.

I think they timed it to start the same time as Elder Scroll Online launch

I hate this thing for reviving downed players, it only works on 3 and they have to be downed not dead and the cast time is soooo slow by the time it lands they are prob doubled downed by then . It should be an instant. It’s good for buffs and getting the lords up.

Bear is great in WvW, the shake it off is nice plus he’s not there to do damage he there to take damage. Bear has one of the highest HP and toughness. Try using protect me when you aoe zergs and you won’t die your bear eats the DPS, my bear has like 30,000 hit points add that to yours and add in some regen and you can take a fair amount of damage. Other pets have lower hitpoints so serve no purpose on zergs.

Rangers are great! People don’t like them because they lack group utiliti.es in Zerg fights. Most Rangers will go heavy zerker for dps and become a rally bot. People feel Rangers are a selfish class because you can spec how you like not having to worry how you help a zerg out or not.

That being said, you can do some pretty good DPS and burn people down. You’re hella hard to catch. I personally think you can sway how a zerg fights is going to go. You have CC’s, Bleeds, Immobilize add in AOE fire blasts on Crits. You can burn down downies really fast. As for pets many seem to think it’s part of your dps. Sure it may help a bit in PvE and a bit solo in roaming but in WvW think of them more for group buffs like might or condition removal like shake it off (yes a bear!) Plus with a pet with high toughness and HP hit protect me and for 6 seconds your pet takes the DPS and with troll regenerating you and your pet this is really handy and keeps you alive. It’s fantastic for roaming.

Anywho it’s all in how you play and use what you have. Rangers aren’t bad, just a lot of baddies play Ranger

There’s no point in getting 100% crit chance you reach a cap at 50% anything over that is pointless someone did the numbers awhile back, it’s better to get 100% crit damage

It’s not OP at all, it’s helpful for sure. It’s 20% crit CHANCE, it be better if it was 20% crit damage But if you’ve played ranger then you would know you don’t need over 50% crit chance. So having this allows you to swap out some gear for other stuff like tuffness or condition or whatever.

Yeah rewards were pretty lame. Especially with crazy queue times and 7 weeks duration. They should have at least awarded the winning servers maybe something from the store like a mining pick or a special WvW backpack or a skin of some kind. How hard is to make a t-shirt for town clothes with an I WIN on it or something? Or a special finisher? Even a ticket or two to get some new skins! There was no thought put into it. Next season you’ll probably see much less interest.

Ranger hate has a few reasons in GW2.

1. Most people know nothing about ranger.
2. A LOT of people play ranger, cuz it’s cool. This means there are a lot of bad ranger players, because a lot of players also means a lot of bad players.
3. It’s fun to make jokes about ranger, and some people don’t realize they are mostly jokes.

With that said, I believe ranger pets are where the main issues reside. All balancing for ranger seems to be based on the assumption that a rangers pet will be alive, and will hit every attack. As we all know, rangers pets are notorious for missing attacks, dying quickly, and generally just being kitten y, since we don’t have a precise degree of control over them. We can’t even choose when to use 3 of their 4 skills!

So until some pet changes happen, or they give us back that amazing shortbow speed at launch… and 1200 range again…. ranger will still be the point of every joke, and the last invited to parties and dungeons.

I only use pets for whatever buff I want and protect me to pull damage off me. Rangers shouldn’t rely on their pet to be a source of dps.

LOL there’s nothing wrong with bear, with shake it off condition removal for you and those around every 25seconds isn’t bad, plus it has decent health and toughness for protect me so he takes all the hits for 6 seconds.

I don’t think they gave up per se, but they were playing really dumb and last night probably cost them the match. I’m not sure what their strategy was last night during late NA / OCX, but holy crap did it really put the nail in the coffin.

lots of dead omegas… your tactics where you split your forces into 3 worked real good JQ. that was when you took the lead, why not do it again? You guys are loosi g it, its too early guys.

Thanks the 3 team split does work well, as long as you have decent numbers per group and good communication between teams.
JQ hasn’t given up we’ll fight to the end! I’m enjoying the fights regardless who comes first it’s been fun.

I find with high crit and crit damage we do a boat load of damage, the issue is that it’s fast burst damage and then after that it’s slow going till CD’s are back up. I’m hping the damage increase in DEC to LB auto will fix that issue and we’ll have better sustained dps.

I don’t mind them having exclusive gem armors and skins, just means not everyone will have them. I like that some are limited or seasonal. What makes me sad is the majority of armor skins are butt ugly and they should fire the designer. Also items like the unlimited mining pick should be account bound having every toon to have to purchase it is a money grab which isn’t cool. IMO

I have to disagree I rock in WvW it all depends on how you play. If you want to be in the blob and run around then no you’ll get squashed. But as support dropping crazy burst on your pin is crazy. I won’t get tons of details into my spec but I’ll play mostly range in wvw to drop the bomb. I have high crit and crit damage, also have regen and I use pets that have high toughness and vitality. I use to make fun of rangers running with bears but now they have condition removals and can take a hit they are pretty sweet. I don’t use them for fights I use them to take damage off of me and condition removals and what have ya. If you send your pet into a zerg it’s going to die. You’re also hard to chase down so there’s no real excuse for you to die unless you’re running in first for some reason. Sad thing is tho even in my guild they don’t include rangers in anything. When I play mine I’m usually solo with no party. Although my main is a warrior I find Rangers a lot of fun to play. The biggest issue I have is you have some big burst damage and then it just drops off till CD’s are up, so you are more relying on condition damage, bleeds, poisons, fire aoe. I would prefer more sustained dps then being an okay burst damage and an okay dot class. A warriors regen shouldn’t be on par with my burst damage. Good thing they suck dealing with poison

Great match up to bad it’s some what unplayable though. All you have to do is run around and if your skills start to lag you know there’s a huge zerg near by lol An organized group of 20 can kill a zerg of 30+ unorganized one but not if you skills don’t work. It just comes down to who has the biggest blob at this point. I’m hoping it gets addressed at some point.

This is the same deal with Star Wars Old Republic they had a large scale pvp area and it lagged the same as this couldn’t shoot and skills wouldn’t work. They never fixed it and then basically removed the large scale pvp. Lag got so bad people pretty much quit the game in droves! If the skill lag doesn’t get addressed at some point people will just bail As soon as a new MMO comes out.

It’s really not fun to play once I get into WvW I play for 20 minutes skills don’t work, zergs drop fps like crazy. I’m on an i7 with a gtx 770 card. So I log out and play on my Ps3 which is solid lol Sorry anet but it’s not enjoyable. I feel bad for classes that rely on combo skills and such. That’s why everyone plays tanks.. run around hitting #1 and hoping for the best.

If long queues is going to be the norm it be a good idea that when the queue pops you get to pick which character to enter this way you can play alts or what have you till it pops

Im on JQ and the skill lag is brutal I’m om an I7 with a gtx 770 in the big fights none of my skills work even auto attack I have to time it in my head and hope it works. Fps will drop to 9 , then sometimes the server will catch up and I die instantly. Im sure its the same for everyone.

I agree everyone seems to double team yesterdays garrison fight was pretty obvious tho we had both sor and bg taking out all the gates and I mean all of them before attempting the lord. It was fun tho still took over 2+ hrs fighting in inner before we lost. My client crashed before that tho >. <

Weird since I don’t run with any cleric trinkets and all pvt and heal for 1900 I wonder if swapping out to cleric trinks is even worth it.

I thought the increase to pets was to be in PVP? I thought pets were fine in pve. WVW is where rangers are hurting. Am I missing something?

I would have to disagree, it all comes down to how you play and how you can help your zerg, I go high crit, high crit damage with CC’s with fear and freeze or will switch out pet for aoe might. With muddy you can slow a zerg down, with extra range you can stay at a safe distance as you barrage down on your pin to lay waste to what they are fighting or take down siege other classes can’t hit. Add in AOE fire sigil and bleeds and you are doing a boat load of damage. Finish off with piercing. You also have healing well for condition removal. GW for blocking and quick escapes. List goes on it’s fun class to play, tuff to master. I’m on JQ so have lots of experience with T1 Zergs.

It was probably MACE + shield, not sword. The stun is melee range so just don’t let him get close.

lol they can just use a gap closer then use the stun. besides most of them pack a long range weapon too.

Warriors can’t be mace/shield GW and range common now.

Hiya, nice to see a player from a server we are competing with. I’m on JQ as well and I’m a warrior and I go by the name Beowulf.

TC may have seen my strength for themselves, have watched me rise from the darkness of war, dripping with my enemies’ blood. I drove five great giants into chains, chased all of that race from the earth. I swam in the blackness of night, hunting monsters out of the ocean, and killing them one by one; death was my errand and the fate they had earned.

But I digress, it comes down to what role you want to play. I’m a frontliner so I’m all about Defense and staying alive and CC. I run shouts as well that heal, with the new heal regen I’m a kitten to kill and often last man standing. I stick to primarily power/toughness/vitality gear. I run Short sword/Shield and Warhammer. This is for WvWvW and big fights! Solo I can last a long time usually to wait till some show up to kill you guys off. If you want to do crazy DPS and hunt people down then this isn’t the way to go. This is to clear a line for your team have the enemy pile on you while range and dps take you out from a safer distance.

My stats are 30k health, 3100 attack, 407 health regen per second, 3,126 armor, 2000 toughness, that should give you an idea at least and pray to your Gods you may never cross my path!

Pets are great just have to know how to use them and actually look at their f2 skills instead of picking a bird or something cause I wanna look like a pirate :P
