Release inactive char names

As someone who likes short one word names, I understand the issue rather well.
Still, don’t want them to take any names. Even if I have to resort to some rather “creative” names since I do not like RP surnames.

Also, nothing would work better at keeping players from returning after a long inactivity phase than taking their beloved names. Let alone the scamming that might end up happening.

The hair issue is the first and pretty much the last reason why people do not fancy hats much. The visuals are especially jarring when you play anything with long hair like any females characters and (dear god) Charr.

I want to be able to put a tiny cylinder on top of the crazy Charr hair.

A feature like that doesn’t fit the spirit of PvP to me, the spirit of an MMO even.
Also, WvW would have names openly displayed if it was up to me.
Many people do not wish to be anonymous drones without a name or an identity.
If you do not like human interaction with ups and downs and high emotions which can lead to good but also terrible behaviour then you might reconsider your choice of game.
I know it is an unfair thing to say for someone who likes the gameplay but that is how I see it.

Why force something like this on everybody? Make a team chat only tab, block anyone who bothers you and just maybe try to be a little less sensitive about this stuff.

Even if it was unbeatable in a 1vs1 scenario, the lack of a SB means they can not do the usual “Thief Shinanigans”. A truly capable “backcap/+1 thief”will make this look like silly child’s play.

Seems to be the type of build that causes newbies to commit suicide by trying to fight it melee or by not kiting it.

You can take sb in place of staff and it works just fine, just that you loose some power pressure is all. It is better to use sb as mobility is more important than 3 ~4k vaults, but most ppl use staff instead in this setup for some reason.

I see. Was dueling a friend of mine a while back who ran that type of build. He still couldn’t beat me on my condition warrior, though. It would end similarly against a scrapper or a herald.
Seems to be a newbie trap only if multiple opponents die to them at the same time.

Still, doesn’t mean such an easy to play build should wield such good results. Though honestly, one could probably claim the same thing about any of the meta classes nowadays. The entire PvP side of this game is just too passive, forgiving and ultimately boring now.

I do agree, both the condition spam as well as the passive regeneration seems too powerful. You can add those to the long list of too powerful stuff, though.

The only way to fix anything in this game is an overall nerf to pretty much everything.
Honestly, if you don’t realize the ridiculous overall powercreep we have had over the years and instead insists on nerfing this class or that class only then we must be playing different games.

I still feel like we will get this instead: The reduction of warrior sustain and maybe a reduction of adrenalin gain. The change of Endure Pain from an ability to a corruptable boon, nerf to CI and probably some other changes that will take the condition warrior out of the meta and make the weaker builds pretty much unplayable.

Any vanilla warriors feel this way also?

The recent change to AH has indirectly catapulted Beserk far ahead of Strength and it has already been the obvious choice for condition builds before. Landing your bursts has never been more important and the diffifulty to do so has never been lower than with most Berserker builds.
To me, base warrior can still work especially against other Warriors or Berserkers. It is simply less versatile and has less good matchups than the Berserker spec.

Well said. Indeed, the majority agrees that a certain amount of AP is a good indication on what one can expect from said player. The usual difference between 1k AP players and a 5k AP player is huge. Completely dismissing any oberservation or even rule because of a few exceptions is just silly.

In any case, people usually go into pugs with the goal to finish any type of content quickly, easily and most of all smoothly. They will always pick the safer choice in pug players. Following a well documented meta in both classes as well as strategies used is another thing people always complain about. Yet, nobody can deny it’s effectiveness.

Have gotten kicked from some AC run due to having less AP than some other tempest that joined. They refused to take a third tempest (which one of us would have been in this case) instead of the daredevil they were looking for.
Doesn’t even matter if I have ten times as much dungeon experience and time on my class. Doesn’t matter if neither class is really needed and AC is kitten easy. It was still a smart choice on their part. Just not too nice of them.

That’s your kick reason, most likely.
If it was a group of 3+ guildies, just don’t even bother. Some of them are major kittens. I got kicked from a guild-group back when I was always pugging because I asked at an old 50 mai trin why the guardian didn’t bring WoR (wasn’t even insulting). There’s people who don’t take that kind of kitten well for whatever reasons.

Pretty much this. When in Rome, do as the Romans do.

That has always been my rule of thumb when running with guild groups I do not know. Your opinions might not be shared by them. They might even be annoyed by this random pug trying to boss them around.
Be nice and ask first, only give careful advice. They might even listen and actually apprechiate it, in the end.

People have good days, people have bad days.
They might just carry you along on some day and decide to kick you on another day. They might have joined hastely, looked around to see everyone at 15k+ ap apart from this one guy at 2k and decided to clean his spot for a more fitting member.
It is in their power to do this, considering how the kicking system is based on a majority decision in this game.
Of course it sucks to be the one opening the party and then getting kicked for it.

I certainly do have days in which I’d kick anyone not fitting any of the requirements I set prior to them joining. Considering how used people are to this, they might just kick anyone without a thought. Even the party “leader”.

To me, defenses based around arenalin spend should only require you to actually spend said adrenalin. If they do not wish you to throw an attack into the open air then they should revert the adrenalin change and therefor require you to hit something to spend any adrenalin.
I still see the image of a warrior or especially a berserker soaking and enduring damage in combat. Currently, it is more like hitting something to leech health. They could move adrenal health into one of the other (more aggresive) lines and give us something defensive in the Defense line. Seems even more unlikely, though.

GW2, not a sequel.

Henry.5713

Topics such as this one have bothered me right from the start. I still remember hundreds of them with people complaining about that fact that this game is indeed not Guild Wars 2.0 but an actual sequal to game that was released in 2005.

All of us have this one game, often our first MMO, that we put on this golden pedistule in our mind. A game that will never have it’s equal in terms of community, build diversity or PvP. At least that is how we feel about it.
People don’t stop to think about how far their personal feelings are influced by simple nostalgia. The one community that you experience when you go from mostly singleplayer to a MASS MULTIPLAYER MMO will always stay in your mind.
Also, hardly anyone even knew about balance or min-max’ing builds back in 2005/2006. Games weren’t any more balance or allowed for more diversity back in the day – people simply didn’t care as much or knew any better. Games were far less balanced than they are nowadays.

I also have my first MMO that I loved. Those games obviously had great features, otherwise people wouldn’t pick then up and play them for years. You should still be honest with yourself.
My game – Silkroad Online had the most fun PvP features out of any MMO I have ever played. There is nothing on the current market that is similar to those features apart from maybe ArcheAge with their pirating system.
But to be honest, the game is horribly dated now. I would not even want a full translation into a 2016 game. Too many things would just neither work nor sell nowadays. The playerbase changed too much in the last ten years.

Picking up any of the ancient games can be a bit of an eye opener when you were just seeing the game through your nostalgia goggles before. Don’t get me wrong, I have many things about GW2 that I could do without or which I would want changed.
Yet, the game’s biggest strength is it’s mass appeal to the newer player base. Mass appeal is something GW1 never had.

Are necros accepted in Dungeon and Fractals?

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Henry.5713

Henry.5713

It really depends on the players themselves. There are a few too many necros in T4 fractals nowadays. Seems to be the new flavour.
We normally leave up the 5th spot for a pug and that spot is usually taken by a necro and also most likely by one who runs something way too tanky for my taste.
They quite often play without any regard for the rest of their group, causing situations which will wipe everyone but themselves and then gloat in the fact that they died last. And considering how tanky even an almost glass reaper is – not dying last would be rather sad.

But honestly, those are the back sheep. Any class has their own.

Don’t get me wrong, though. I am happy enough to have a good necro join T4 runs for a lot of reasons. Some are ripping boons, good condition damage, Epidemic, ability to res, general ability to soak some damage in certain situations, good CC, etc.
Many situations seem almost perfect for a necromancer.

Anything works in dungeons now. The general powercreep as well as the break bar change made everything even easier than before.
The difference between a meta party with something like Warrior+Mesmer+Ele+Ele+Thief and replancing any of them with a necro or any other given class with a decent berserker build will only matter if you are out to set a record.

How viable is Burnzerker for raids atm ?

in Warrior

Henry.5713

It is about as viable as any other mediocre condition build. Only really needed on VG and only wanted if you do not have anything better.
Works perfectly fine combined with two other condition dealers, though. Simply because of the rather forgiving timer that boss has.

I’d still consider fully gearing a Burnzerker a huge waste of your time and money. Any subpar set will work about as well. Considering how you wouldn’t be thinking about a Burnzerker if you wanted to set some records, in the first place.

I am sure the search function on these forums as well as on Youtube will result in providing you with all of the guides and tutorials you need.

Is Warrior Losing its Flavor?

in Warrior

Posted by: Henry.5713

Henry.5713

I have mixed feelings about the balance issues we have been facing for years now. It didn’t simply start with HoT.
Everyone has their own idea about the class “Warrior”.
My favorite type of warrior has always been the tanky brawler who is still dangerous in any form of close range combat. The game moved away from having any room for this type of warrior, though. The days where Hambow and later Axebow ruled seem long gone.

The general design idea seems to be passive regeneration as well as complete immunity from either physical or condition damage. Yet, they seem to slowly implement even more ways to counter a warrior’s strengths.
One thing that wouldn’t surprise me is if Endure Pain got hit the same way Berserker Stance did. The change from a unique effect into an actual boon. They might implement a invulnerability boon and therefor leave it vulnerable to boon rip. Seems to be the direction we are heading, in any case.

The things I’d much rather see:
The name Endure Pain already suggests something along the lines of reduced damage due to a warrior’s natural experience with pain and injuries. Would much rather see damage reducing effects, passive or even better active ones, as a warrior’s main source of defense.
Was hoping that the new Berserker spec actually focused on something similar. All of us imagine some Viking Berserker, someone who fights until they fall over from all of the injuries and the blood lost.
The last person you ever want to find yourself next to when they go on a rampage. And that is my main issue with the current (and more like the warrior we have had for ages now). Does anyone actually care about a melee warrior? They attack you back while taking far less damage or equal damage and healing up to full health afterwards while you are stuck with your (impressive) regeneration. Doesn’t matter how strong your regeneration is compared to other powerful active healing skills… you will still have to kite and play around your passive regeneration to drag out any fight until you can use it to it’s full effect.

We have been seing traits, abilities, boon, conditions, skills, weapons and other stuff which would fit a warrior more than any of the other classes. Taunt seemed to be the perfect and stereotypical warrior condition, reduced damage taking in melee range traits, natural defenses and healing traits, etc.
Yet, Warrior seems to be cursed forever to be the simple and easy newbie class. Never going to get anything too flashy or too complicated and therefor not getting any love from the designers because they can not work on anything new or exciting.

Considering whichever part of the warrior experience you’d call it’s main flavour – I’d say we lost that a long time ago.

Axe/axe

Posted by: Henry.5713

Henry.5713

There are quite a few reasons why GS remains the far superior choice.
They’d have to either increase the base axe damage by a great amount to justify running a dps warrior alongside the PS player in your party or in a solo scenario.
Finally move Axe Mastery from the Grand Master trait to allow it to synergize with Berserker’s Power.
Make Forceful Greatsword work with any warrior weapon.
Allow Dual Wielding attack speed to stack with quickness.
Add some utility to axes on either hand like reflects while whirling or anything useful like that.
And many more…

Mainhand axe has always been my favorite warrior weapon. Yet, there really is no reason to run it anymore in PvE.
Some players still run axes, argue that the damage is comparable to greatsword and close their eyes to all of the advantages GS gives them over axes outside of simply the damage component.
That is your own choice to make in the end.

Seems like a decent brawler build. 7/10 is a valid conclusion. You still have weaknesses like burst and just the lack of mobility.

The increased tokens as well as the additional amount from the daily actually reward those who have done dungeons often enough to / or who were simply lucky enough to drop any or multiple of the dungeon recipes.

The only thing that can take away some fun is the fact that they still no longer work on dungeon content. That might change again, though. I wouldn’t have expected this change either.

It is almost like I progressed back to the way I felt about the game before HoT was announced. Only this time there isn’t only a lack of updates and changes there are also a number of changes I do not like on top of that.
To be frank, I haven’t had such a low level of interest in the game as well as such low expectations on whatever is coming.
I dearly hope this won’t be another one of times where we get a summary or preview and no actual details.
The last time we got a “summary” of all of the great changes happening to warrior balance turned out to be nothing worth talking. Just one example out of many.

We might never even get whatever is promised to begin with. Makes me feel like this is the new strategy. Do not promise anything or give any details so there won’t be another huge letdown like with the legendaries.
And even then, the actual honesty and explanation of the issue still impresses me even if I do not agree with it personally.

It is naive to assume that they would in no way influence one of their own subsidaries. They might not decide on specific routes or stopping points but they will certainly set goals or at least a certain direction.
The added F2P model alongside the renewed focus on revenue from gem sales seems to be one of the signs. The overall “milking” of the players seems to have gotten worse over the years as well.

2016 means way more aoe conditions on low cooldowns, way more powerful passives, more evades and invulnerabilities, even more powercreep and all of the good stuff.

On a serious note, would much rather have the 2013 times back with far less passives, powerfull skills on long cooldowns, burst being mostly single target, way less condition spamming, glassy burst builds actually being glassy and all of that.
Doesn’t seem too likely, though.

Attitude about dungeons is irrational

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Henry.5713

Henry.5713

Illconceived Was Na, Anet deliberately gutted dungeon rewards to drive people into fractals and raids, they literally stated this outright. I know you know that.

If all they wanted was to reduce the amount of gold people were getting, they could have increased the number of dungeon tokens, boosted the drop rate of all those obscure recipes, and so forth. But they didn’t care about that, they just didn’t want people doing dungeons. And they succeeded wonderfully, the dungeon LFG is basically a wasteland.

If Gold was the only reason people were doing dungeons, then dungeons really were not worth supporting as content in the first place.

Gold was the only reason because the content never got any attention from devs after around month 6 or so. They explicitly stated they were trying to drive players away from dungeons instead of putting resources into supporting them, which is asinine.

Yes exactly … It’s not asinine. It makes perfect sense. If people are ONLY doing content for gold, then that’s not quality content to begin with. Anet recognized that and dealt with the problem properly since they decided they weren’t going fix dungeons to be worth doing beyond being a gold faucet.

How does it make sense for a game to give people less content to play and less reasons to log in? I’m confused as to why you think it’s a good idea to reduce playtime.

It doesn’t, but those aren’t the reasons they nerfed dungeons so I don’t see the relevance.

You say it makes perfect sense to get rid of dungeons. No more dungeons = reduced playtime.

No more dungeons doesn’t not result in reduced playtime unless you don’t substitute for other content. Anet does not tell you what content you will do; you decide that.

There’s no alternative though. Fractal dailies are shorter than they were pre-HoT, dungeons not worth doing and raids on a weekly cooldown.

You can see how their attitude towards dungeons and instanced content in general is quite weird, no? It’s like they no longer wanted people to play instanced content on a daily basis.

Those might not be alternatives to you. I don’t see their attitude as weird at all. In fact, I think it goes directly to how they approach GW2 as an atypical MMO. There are LOTS of things in this game that Anet purposefully did to avoid the standard approaches to providing an MMO. I think dungeons is just another one of those. Albeit, it wasn’t successful, but when you try new things in the market, sometimes the market doesn’t like them. It happens.

Really? Purposefully destroying a dungeon community, taking away the stuff they were enjoying before the expac makes sense to you?

If you’re going to be sensational, I think there is little value in having a discussion with you. I said it makes sense for Anet to nerf dungeon rewards if the only purpose that people were using dungeons for was to farm gold. Please listen.

Not being sensational man, I’ve been in speedrun guilds, dungeon communities. What little is left are raiding, loads quit fairly shortly after HoT, and 90% of my friendslist afks in DR pretty much all day long.

It comes back to a larger issue in the game atm. There’s very little replayability, even if you are into open world. That’s why it doesn’t make sense to me they wanted to reduce replayable content even more by making fractals a 30min daily and getting rid of dungeons entirely. There’s no upside.

Funny, sounds exactly like my own story (community, friends and all).
That decision certainly made room for new players on the servers.

Like others already said, ArenaNet openly stated that this was also done to move dungeon players to fractals and raids, to slowly kill off dungeons.
Kind of wondering if the white knights would still defend ArenaNet no matter if they got hit by a change like this. Something that was deliberatly done to take away their favorite part of the game along with their community and friends.

Dungeons are still there, without any reason to play them apart from just rerunning them once every few weeks or so for the fun, without the cool community or good pugs, without your active friend list and all of that. Without the good rewards that made a fun thing even better. That is why people stopped playing them and not simply the cut in gold rewards.
People can kid themselves all they want. The same thing would happen to their favorite part of the game if rewards would get cut by 2/3 and further updates canceled or even full abandoned.

Do you think Raids in GW2 were a bad idea?

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Henry.5713

Henry.5713

The reward to try this piece on content is Legendary armour. The same way that the Legendary SPvP back is incentive to try PvP and the Fractal Backpeice.

Then it has failed, in both cases, because they are not a “reward to try,” they are “reward to succeed over VERY long periods of time.” They both require dozens of hours at the task and at least a reasonable amount of success at them. This is not how a “trial” reward functions. A trial reward is something that anyone can earn after an hour or two of effort, maximum. Anything beyond that is not a trial reward, it is a long term reward.

There is a place for long term rewards, but the further away you put something, the more routes you should make towards it. If a player tries a specific content for 1-2 hours, then he may decide it’s not for him, but he gave it a fair shot and can move on with a clear conscience. If a player finds after two hours that he does NOT enjoy something, and yet sill has to keep at it for dozens more hours if he wants to get that reward he wanted, then that has totally failed at being a trial reward.

A reward can be an incentive to make you try to do your best even if you are not payed for your trial. Success should always be your goal.
What reason do you have to ever give your best if the only thing you actually need to do is just “try”?
You can not achieve some goals by taking easier alternative route either.

And if all of that doesn’t seem worth your time then the reward probably isn’t as shiny as you think it is.

If Gold was the only reason people were doing dungeons, then dungeons really were not worth supporting as content in the first place.

The dungeon clearing community used to be quite big. Dungeons always were and still are fun to a lot of players. This community has been a good indication on how well liked dungeons were even after over three years of almost no updates.
Other players felt forced to step into dungeons daily to farm enough gold to keep up or achieve whatever goal they had. Those certainly are the ones who only ever played them for the gold.
The same thing can be said for everyone who is forced to play whichever event chain is currently most rewarding, though. Many do not enjoy any of that but still have to play them for hundreds of hours to keep up with the inflation.

The continual neglect and eventual openly stated abandonment of the dungeons was why many quit or moved on to other things or games. The actual harsh reward nerf was just the last straw at the end of this process for many of us who still had some hope to see new dungeons some day.
Even if you are one of the lucky few who own multiple of the most expensive dungeon recipes you still are effected by those points as well as the fact that it is getting harder to find pugs and most people you played with quit or lost all interest in dungeons.
At least that is how I feel about it.

And yet the reasons you brought up are even more present in raids than in dungeons. The toxicity levels are even higher, there are desirable rewards you can’t get anywhere else, and as far as exclusionary content goes, raids are pretty much a gold standard of it.

The major difference is that raids are in no way as or even more rewarding as other top “gold farming” content in this game.
Raids are supposed to be exclusive by design. That is why they did their best to keep the gold rewards as low as possible to not make anyone feel at a disadvantage like they did with dungeons previously. The best ways to earn gold have been the ones accessible to everyone for longest time already.
The only exclusive items are the new trinkets. Rather sure those will not stay exclusive to raids in the long run.

Raids would reward you with 50g-100g per week or let’s say 10g per run and no weekly cap if it was up to me. Don’t think they will ever go with what people like me would want, though.

Do you think Raids in GW2 were a bad idea?

I’d be fine with legendary armor outside of raids (in PvE) if that took far more time than a good raid group would need. Seems a rather unlikely scenario to me.
Pretty sure there will be multiple ways to gain legendary armor some of which will probably require far less effort than raiding.
Seems a pretty obvious choice to ArenaNet considering how the majority of players is complaining about it.

Also, it is so strange how much it bothers people to not be able to gain even one reward in this game.

Could u please upgrade "Racial Skill"?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Henry.5713

That’s the point.

Imagine if you wanted to go play in a raid or something and the party requirement was “Norn only” or “Human only” or a WvW raid with “Sylvari Only.”

But regarding the real issue, I have no solution and semi-agree that you shouldn’t be forced into a race to get your desired build. However, I also semi-agree that more flavor could be considered for race. The races of GW2 are pretty unique and further separating an Asura Warrior and a Charr Warrior increases replay value.

As mentioned, I think upgrading racial skill can provide more unique play and build. To think an asura will summon a golem to fight for his side, to think a human warrior prey to their gods and fight with different style from a charr warrior, is interesting for me.

Upgrading racial skill will provide diversity of play style rather then playing zerker warrior, viper warrior, zerker elementalist, celestial elementalist, Medi guard and etc.

Considering the many choices in utilities and elites you currently have and the tiny number of which are actually being used, we can assume that good race-class choices would become paramount.
They would end up replacing current meta builds with the additional requirement to run a certain race on top of class and build.

Attitude about dungeons is irrational

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Henry.5713

This is how I see it:

Feels like the decision was based on multiple things rather than just simple game economics.

Dungeons had been pretty much abandoned long before this reward nerf. The change of focus happened years ago.
Another reason is probably the supposed elitism and toxicity of the dungeon community, especially towards new players. As this game is supposed to be about playing together and having fun.
And finally and most importantly the exclusionary part of the dungeons with their great way to make coin which made everyone not able to run a full dungeon tour in three hours feel at a disadvantage.

Simply bringing up the liquid gold income as the main reason is so naive. We could have gone the route of less liquid gold rewards and more tokens or other stuff from dungeons if they actually wanted rewards to stay at a similar level.
The introduction of new ways to earn gold rewards after the dungeon nerf just cements the point.

Raids are supposed to be everything dungeons weren’t in the end.
Hard PvE content people can not speedrun to death, not a liquid gold generator that excludes most members of the population and easier to design than full dungeons with multiple paths.
Fractals on the other hand are supposed to be rewading PvE content for all skills levels and all levels of gear. Not excluding anyone from good rewards.

Many people hated dungeons for the reasons I mentioned. Many are happy with rewards nerf mainly because they no longer feel like they are losing anything if they do not get into dungeons.
The new thing to hate are raids and the future exclusivity of legendary armor. Pretty much how this community works.

I remember when I was playing GW1 I did dungeons for fun and for the challenge, not for the reward.

Even with the tiny stat difference between exotic and ascended and all – gear still matters in this game.
The eventual decent amount gold that I would earn by simply playing content I loved even with far from optimal pugs was nice to have.
Not having to worry about how you will finance your gear without having to do stuff you dislike was nice. I know, dungeon players are far from the only ones with this problem. WvW players can sing you a sad song about that.

At least they have a sense of humor. Do people even expect a well balanced game over all classes at this point? Most of us would probably die from a heart attack.

Kind of wondering – which parts of the game would you have to turn off for your children?
Or is this strictly about the chat and interacting with other players?

Why i wont level in gw2 anymore.

The only thing that made leveling bareable to me was the freedom to gain all of your desired skills and utilities early, allowing you to set up some effective leveling build.
The days where you could go for a 5 signet warrior with a crit rate of 100% due to the non level based precision buff are long gone, though.
The whole leveling process feels so needlessly slowed and dumbed down nowadays. Would have to force myself to actually play and grind to get another character to 80 without the use of ‘Tomes. It doesn’t help that the story and all choices are the same old stuff to me now.

How do you make people pick up and actually “play” new characters without removing the Tomes and Scrolls and kittening off almost everyone?
Wouldn’t it be interesting to see additional new story choices and paths? And I am not even much of a story guy myself. Giving the veterans a new reason to make new characters of the same race would still be nice.
They could also give us some “unlocked” mode for new characters where you get your skills from the start or get other buffs or boons or whatever.
New events could take place in each zone as well as new or reworked heart quests to make it more interesting.

All of that sounds like too much work and a bad ressource investment on their part, in the end. As all of us want to see new lvl80 content before any rework to low level areas or stories.

Warrior needs to be a main Tank again.

It just comes down to this being how the game works.
Every class could set up some decent tanky builds. People just prefer the most optimal one in the end. The ones which can either dish out decent damage still, bring all of the offensive buffs and boons they usually do or or even both.
Warriors are normally played for their unparalleled trinity of offensive buffs: EA, Banners and PS might.
A densive warrior would lose most if not all of that might gain at least. He might even have to give up the banners. Therefor forcing the group to bring another PS warrior which is far from optimal.
Another reason is that defensive tools such as invulerabilities, blocks, protection, regeneration, etc. are far more effective than stacking toughness or vitality. It is something warriors have always lacked.

Don’t think this is going to change anytime soon. We do not have a holy trinity and most classes can play whatever they which and make it work. There is still a big imbalance between certain classes and has always been when it comes to how well they are able to do certain things in the game.

The only way to change this would be to either give warriors such crazy defensive and supportive capabilities to justify the additional non PS warrior or to make Toughness and Vitality scale differently. Doubt either will ever happen.
The only thing I can see happening is that they will overnerf PS warriors or all warriors to “Strengthen build diversity”. Has happened before.

Dragons overused? *story spoilers

Never played the original GW nor do I know anything about the story there. Just that there were gods, that Charr used to be evil and some other tiny details. Which might have caused me to have a different idea about the story we’d get.

I kind of imagined the dragons to be like the embodiment of the forces of nature.
Beings as ancient and powerful as life itself. Unlike gods, they’d be neither good or evil and seemingly unstoppable once fully awakened. Like fighting a giant tsunami you unleashed yourself. Beings which do not have a conscience or feelings. Water drowns you without a second thought. It doesn’t care if you are good or evil.
An enemy which would unite all races and even gods in an attempt to just survive.
It is the reason why reusing such a cliche magical being didn’t bother me at all.

Just didn’t want to see another good fighting evil story. Something that shows you the many facets of gray instead. Even if nature awakening to strike back at the “humans” is yet another cliche at this point. I do understand that others prefer to have a more basic story with clear sides. It is a matter of personal taste in the end.

You can imagine how disappointed I was after Zhaitan and his army of the undead and the very disappointing last fight. That combined with how all of the personal stories always lead to Trehearne in the end took away any interest in the story I might have had.
Although, the short focus on Caithe was great. She has always been my favorite member of the whiny heroes club by far.

Hmmm. It makes no sense for a ceo to step on a public forum to tell them players what will not be done. It would have been easier to just release new story and keep people busy with the story until time for 1-2 more legendaries would be found to release some more legendaries. Noone here would have said anything. I bet out of the 41 pages of this thread 40 pages of players would not have even noticed the delay of the weapons lol.

Its just normal this thread explodes when paying people get to know that what they payed is being put on hold with no sight on when the work will be continued…

Theres no reason to throw any bad news to the wolves if there isnt something in the background waiting.

I hope for you that the spring update is not turned into summer update suddenly^^

you better deliver a huge awesome april update now lol

I think that the goals for ebit set by ncsoft are too greedy.

It was actually quite refreshing to not get that type of developer behaviour for a change. Not that I see this becoming a trend.

Had been offline for some days now saw whats going on here and yeah i definately believe that “quiet refreshing”

I do indeed consider someone being frank and honest with their customers refreshing. Not sure which part of concerned consumers is funny. It is a different story if some of those complaining the loudest continue to spend their hard cash on the game.
I certainly will not myself if things continue this way.
