1% per boon type.
1 might = 1%
10 might = 1%
5 might + fury = 2%
So, what it’s trying to tell you is to pick Allies’ Aid
my WVW end game content was wrecked by all the transfers.
I’m done transferring to try and find greener pastures.
That golem could be the star of its own video game
I’m looking forward to your next project.
1% per second takes 1 minute and 40 seconds to heal up to 100%.
True, I forgot about the birthday blaster. It’s just such a pain to use every 10 minutes though. Maybe I should give it another chance
40 to all stats is pretty great… on top of 10% more karma and 15% magic find.
I don’t know why you would use such expensive food. 1 gold per hour is the most expensive I ever saw. I don’t even use food that’s 20 silver per hour. In fact, I use food that’s 2 silver per hour
You really want to pay 98 silver per hour to have 60 more stat points?

He’s using Marauder stats, not Berserker. He has 5600 more health than full Berserker. That makes me doubt his build much less than yours in a duel.
He’s also using it in PvP, not WvW. So him not picking Steady Focus makes complete sense. He won’t be at full endurance most of the time.
Of course any build works. I thought you were asking what the best choice was in WvW. If you only duel in WvW and take the build into PvP, don’t pick Steady Focus. Brutish Seals is fine. Moment of Clarity is fine. Whichever works for you.
I’m not too sure about that. Are they going to send the same orphan letter to everyone again, eventhough most people already did that part?
dragonhunter auto-attack isn’t going to be very good, I think it only cripples IF it bounces, not all the time. That’s a worse condition than flanking on Ranger shortbow.
Ranger longbow has always been about superior range. The longest range in the game for any weapon. Now it’s even baseline together with superior projectile speed which will hit targets at any range.
We’ll have to see how Dragonhunter longbow is. Maybe it’ll have the slow projectile speed Rangers used to have, maybe they’ll have the same speed baseline. Either way, they’ll be shorter range.
This is fine for PvP and duelling, so yes Guardian longbow could be better, but not in WvW. And since I only play WvW, I’m not worried.
Adding it to the laurel merchant is fine too. I wouldn’t mind paying laurels for the ability to unlock the collection.
I still have the letter from the orphan, but the grawl isn’t in the home instance anymore.
I just want 5 stacks of stability for 6s on Protect Me.
- makes it useful even with a dead pet
- gives Rangers access to on-demand stability without a 1s cast time
- fits the theme of it being a stun breaker
- helps it compete with Signet of Stone
They’re using PvP stats in WvW I believe.
Steady Focus
Seriously.
Even for WvW / PvP?
Are you sure?
That’s a WvW build, not a PvP build (nor a PvE build for that matter).
Steady Focus on a glass Longbow Ranger WvW build? Definitely. It depends on his playstyle of course, but he should be staying at 1500 range most of the time at full endurance.
If you go to WvW for solo-roaming and duelling, then you may want to pick another trait, but then I have doubts about the rest of the build.

Steady Focus
Seriously.
I’d still like to see an answer.
To quote a great solution again:
I say add the Holiday Display Case to the list of things Legendary Collector Youngblood sells.
If not, then I’d still like to know if there will be a rerun of this event in the next wintersday, which I can assure you other people will miss, so just add another way to unlock the “For the Children” collection please.
Yep, got me as well, but I rewinded and saw no revealed appear on the thief.
- Does using Sick ’em use the same sound effect?
At some point you hover over your food buffs and it shows +24% condition duration.
- Why are you using condition duration food?
- Shouldn’t you be using Super Veggi Pizza instead?
The thief in the end rage quit
You got exp while he was only downed, so he must have used Alt+F4.

That was an… interesting read. It took me a while but I made it all the way through.
I especially like the golem Figurine. I could see it end up in the game some day. So sleek and a intimidating, yet cute. I don’t know how you do it, but again, really well made. Its stance looks very natural and realistic (and fits the story perfectly).
I’d love to see you make more of these
I run s/d and longbow for roaming. Those are my stats. Very strong all around build that has hp, armor, power, crit rate, and crit dmg.
Surely you must be having some extra buffs running like 25 stacks of bloodlust, full guard stacks and food. Unfortunately your screenshot covers it up.
edit: Oh sorry, you already said it has these things
(edited by Holland.9351)
Medium is the lowest label they give.
My guess is that Medium actually means Low, but Medium sounds better.
Wouldn’t this completely fall apart if the target is moving compared to zerker?
Just one thing I noticed, you only have 1 underwater weapon. You can have both the harpoongun and the spear.
Well that`s one of my “things” i sometimes mess up with the kitting while having harpoon gun on. Haroop is useless anyway i don`t need it.
Thanks for the advice anyway
Ok makes sense.
I wouldn’t call it useless though. It has 1500 range and you even have it traited with Lead the Wind. Coral Shot cripples as well. I think you could find a use for it to catch up with someone between Darts. Unless of course you never chase someone to that extend.
Just one thing I noticed, you only have 1 underwater weapon. You can have both the harpoongun and the spear.
I suppose it’s a bug that all pets have base 0 Condition Damage and 0 Healing Power.
Some pets cause conditions and some pets cause healing. So maybe all pets should start with 500 Condition Damage and 500 Healing Power. You can then trait them further to have 800 Condition damage with Expertise Training ( +300 ) and 950 Healing Power with Natural Healing ( +450 ).
Nice, but I think there is too much emphasis on reviving. Allies’ Aid is excellent and definitely a must-have. However, I think Search & Rescue is a waste. I used to run it when fractals were new, but back then it could also revive dead players, not only downed ones. Its cooldown is far too long. Spirit of Nature is better to keep.
You should also get more out of Resounding Timbre. It’s a really good trait for team support, but you have to run more shouts with it. You could easily replace Signet of the Hunt with Guard and get permanent swiftness and regeneration for your whole party.
I’m not too convinced about Sharpened Edges, but then again, most of our utilities are kinda bad.
As for pets, might I suggest Fern Hound? That’s more team healing and goes well with Invigorating Bond. Arctodus is bad for taunt since its cooldown is 12 seconds, but taunt is 15s, so it won’t taunt every time. Fern Hound will be more reliable in this as well. For 2nd pet you could get Blue Moa for AoE protection and more healing (Moas come with a built-in AoE heal).
Your traits are all good, but I believe Natural Healing is bugged and heals only every 3s. (edit: patch notes say it was fixed)

The power stats on Traveller runes are quite a bit worse. I don’t need the condition duration. The boon duration is nice, but don’t really need it either.
So it comes down to:
- 1 utility slot (Traveller)
- more passive damage (Scholar)
- permanent protection + reflect proc (Earth)
If Rangers had a Signet that gave us a passive 100 power + 10% damage, would I pick it as my 3rd utility? That’s basically what I’m doing with Signet of the Hunt + Scholar.
Traveller runes give more freedom, but we have no utility skill that gives more sustained damage, so you’d give that up as a choice.
It feels close to the choice between Brutish Seals, Steady Focus or Moment of Clarity. I’m partial to Steady Focus.
To be honest, there is only 1 utility skill that I might prefer over Scholar Runes, which is what makes it tempting to switch.
(edited by Holland.9351)
I’m using Signet of the Hunt. I was thinking about either Traveller or Earth runes, but I’m not certain enough to change. I guess I could try them out on an exotic set first.
What is this fixation on going full out DPS when using a LB. Seriously, go MM, WS and NM. Also why do you keep calling barrages? Seriously its a low impact skill.
I also run Marksmanship, Wilderness Survival and Nature Magic. I still use Scholar Runes however. Which runes do you use?
It’s down to personal preference, both could work. I use Greatsword mainly for Swoop. It’s just very straightforward to use when travelling, which you’ll be doing a lot in WvW.
You could use sword for travelling as well, but it requires a lot more effort.
Far too overpowered
Don’t forget about Bountiful Hunter
It should definitely be 5% base +1% per boon.
Now you’re just being bitter, Quark.
I set my standards low so I’m never disappointed. When it comes to Anet, I’m still occasionally disappointed.
I’m mostly the same, learned from experience. I’m curious about how terrible it will all be.
It’s definitely really good. I’ve been using it for a while and haven’t switched back. The main reason I tried it is because the other two trait options are Most Dangerous Game-level of bad.
I guess it mostly shines in PvP, but I’ve been running it in WvW on a squishy Longbow Ranger that can rarely take the risk of rezzing someone. But when I can, it’s excellent. Sometimes it’s pretty amazing: pop Signet of Stone, jump into AoE hell and rez someone before you both die.
Funny, earlier today I using Flame Wave on the Fiery Greatsword and I had the same idea. It’s so fuent and quick I think it would suit the Ranger really well.
Of course, the evade duration would have to be lowered and it wouldn’t shoot projectiles.
(edited by Holland.9351)
There are still too many pet traits, even outside of beastmastery as well as several weapon skills buffing pets and utility skills (shouts) depending on them as well.
I am very curious what they’re going to do with it.
Maybe a single pet, but f4 becomes revive/heal and counts as a swap?
Maybe an overhauled pet menu where you can select stats and skills, but otherwise no difference?
Maybe a single pet, but it can’t die?
Special event on pet death?
It’ll be pretty hard to come up with something good.
Anyone cares to put the build into a build manager? :P
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vNAQJATRjEqQLL2wCmsAVLGyEqOZDgDwT8Eox/JPyf8TWR3WB-TpghwAwLDAY/BA
He went full defense with the traits. Didn’t even bother to pick any cooldown reduction on weapon skills. Not even two-handed training, which he had access to.
I don’t remember which sigils he used and I don’t remember what his 2nd pet was, but the rest I’m certain of.
Yes, Protective Ward is very good. But I would advise Superior Rune of the Earth with it over Grove, but both would work depending on your build.
Also add wilderness survival protection-on-dodge to it and you got some excellent protection uptime. And maybe throw in Blue Moa as well.
Only the players who literally exploited the game into oblivion got hit by the changes.
That’s not true. If you didn’t exploit pet stow, you would still get it consistently on every pet swap. Now you only get it on every 2nd pet swap. It’s become completely unreliable with no indication when it’s off cooldown.
For that reason it should work on every pet swap, even if this single trait makes warhorn absolete. Doesn’t thief dodge trait make caltrops absolete? Noone cares, it needs to be reliable and work off the cooldown it’s used for. On every dodge for thief and on every pet swap for ranger.
you are looking at a pretty consistent damage buff of 3-4%.
To recap, that’s for 2 traits and camping warhorn.
Ever since Read the Wind, Longbow Ranger has been great fun in WvW. Then the Rapid Fire buff came and made it amazing.
With this latest update we lost some damage, but the other 90% of my build got some good upgrades in return.
I think Longbow Ranger is still fine and with more survivability than before.
I think the idea is that you’re supposed to be excited to get 1% more damage for 12 seconds every 24 seconds if you also trait for “Bountiful” Hunter. Yes, that’s an average of up to 0.5% damage increase if you use warhorn 5 every time it comes off cooldown together with these 2 traits.
Really, don’t even bother with these traits unless you combo it with Oakheart Salve for 5% damage reduction. Seriously, stay out of Nature Magic unless you want Protective Ward bad enough. If you do, get Evasive Purity and Allies’ Aid with it because the rest is just as bad.
There aren’t many people in Europe who speak Spanish.
Europe has around 500 million people. Spain has 47 million people and more than 15 million of people around the rest of Europe know Spanish.
Exactly my point.
He expects a full server, but there aren’t that many Spanish players in Europe to fill it. On top of that, there might be many Spanish players who don’t even play on Baruch Bay, since they might have moved to other servers for different reasons.
So, Spanish players have no problem with moving to English-speaking servers, but non-Spanish wouldn’t move to Baruch Bay. It could make sense for it to die out over time.
But then again there are 5 French and 5 German servers that somehow have enough players to fill them.
- Brown Bear F2 skill Shake it Off first moves in range of the target rather than activating at its current position.
(Red Moa F2 skill Furious Screech is an example of how it should act.)
Please add this to the pet section.
The Bear acts like its F2 is an offensive skill and tries to get in range of the enemy before using it. It should act like the Red Moa and Blue Moa and simply use it where it’s standing, target or not.
There aren’t many people in Europe who speak Spanish.

ANet will be able to check the logs to see if he really is scamming. If he’s not scamming, they’ll understand why you thought he was.
I guess you’re right, it seems like those skills got switched for some reason.
So I’m going to agree with LughLongArm’s posted build.
It’s a cool video I admit, It’s just the way you present it.
What’s this nonsense?
That’s just using Reflect
I really don’t see the point of showing this. People have been using Reflect against Lupi for years.
The only thing you’re showing is that Whirling Defense can Reflect, but then why bring it like it’s something new and unusual that noone has ever done before?
