Yea it’s funny a raid now has to be10 people in an instance because that’s how wow does it now.
The term raid to me suggest a lot of people attacking something, doesn’t really matter where or how many buttons are involved. In Everquest I remember the top 3 guilds on my server teaming up to kill a god. Thier was around 100 of us, we wiped multiple times, you couldn’t see anything in all the lag. I spammed my 5 necro pacts on main tank whole time, while pet attacked boss. Seemed more like a raid to me with a massive army fighting a boss out in the world way cooler than a 10man instance.

After being killed some bosses would stay dead for weeks in Everquest. Wow wanted to fix the lag problem and the waitting for bosses to respawn problem. So they made 40mans in instances. Later they decided 40 people was to hard to cordinate so they downsized it to a small group.

I think the main reason people don’t see guild wars 2 world bosses as raids is the difficulty. I would even say some bosses need to be so hard their almost impossible to beat. Gives people something to strive for. Something to try as they get better.

Totally agreed. Guild wars 2 world dragon bosses are too easy.

umm I dunno, 9+ million? in a mmo world where every game is forced to go F2P or suffer population issues, and it’s STILL sub based with those numbers

However, 2/3s of that are in china, which has a dearth of other options. Many being counted bought the annual pass to get Diablo 3 for free. In the west, there are probably less than 3 million playing WoW.

It will be interesting to see how the numbers come out when Guild Wars 2 launches in China.

Ive played with some either chinese or korean ppl already, just dont know if they are from here or china. They’re always chatting in asian charaters. Their guikld is pretty much all asians too.

Overall im pretty sure raid in one game is different from another depends on how u look at it. GW2 has raids. I mean the dragon boss and any champions takes alot of ppl to beat them. I would consider the dungeons we have now as raids too, u can’t do it alone, u need team mates to do puzzles and help each other out to clear it.

When its gray out that means its not a collectible item, it never was. That goes for all the dungeon tokens too.

U can transmute high level armor to low level and that way your game wont look or feels boring.

Here’s my level 45 Guardian. I like chainmail armor and it fits the character so I transmute a lot of stuff to keep it looking like the cheap stuff you can buy from the vendor, lol.

Why is Arenanet not putting dungeon armors on the TP? I’m sure they would sell very well and it would give people who hates grinding a chance to look cool and awesome.

So I’m going for map completion and in the screen shot Plains of Ashford is 98% complete but I can’t find the last waypoint for the life of me. Is it a bug? I looked at screens of 100% completion but couldn’t see a difference. maybe my eyes are just swimming. Can anyone help?
Also I’d like to add that I wasn’t sure where to post this on the forums so I apologize in advance if this is the wrong spot.

I’m DreamyAbaddon.
I Have played GW2 since beta on the Xbox360 Controller using a software called “Xpadder”.

That’s right, I play GW2 execlusivly on the Xbox360 Controller with the layouts I have designed myself. This allows me to play my favorite game “GW2” on my personal preferences that suites me well since I Cannot play well on Keyboard & Mouse.

I Cannot say how thankful I truly am that GW2 DOESN’T have Controller Support, since I prefer to build my own controller schemes using my favorite software, Xpadder, instead.

[Quick Example on my layout]

(Right-Trigger) = Skill 1
(A) = skill 2
(X) = Skill 3
(Y) = Skill 4
(B) = Skill 5

(Left Bumper) while held down -> (A) = Skill 6
(Left Bumper) while held down -> (X) = Skill 7
(Left Bumper) while held down -> (Y) =Skill 8
(Left Bumper) while held down -> (B) = Skill 9
(Left Bumper) while held down -> (Right Trigger) =Skill 0

(L-Pad) = F1
(U-Pad) = F2
(R-Pad) = F3
(D-Pad) = F4

etc.

Additionally:
If ArenaNet Ever decides to (add) Controller Support in the future for GW2,
PLEASE Allow us to Disable Controller Support (Option) so that we may Continue to use such software like Xpadder to play on our own Controller schemes for some of us who are used to them.

You know you can hold buttons for the second ability instead of hold down left bumper and press a button…..

My goal for this game is to have all professions at level 80. So far 2 down and 6 more to go. Trying all professions is really fun and it makes the game not boring. I got a legendary already, it’s nothing but a pretty thing. Play other professsions will make you see what a unique game this is.

Wait wait.. A character slot within a character slot??
What does that even mean?

What I mean by having slots for characters is to have the options to pick a character with equip armor already so we won’t have to constantly change armor back and forth.

How about each character having about 5-6 slots of their own so we won’t have to equiped and unequipped so much……

Buy gems and wait till when the exchange rate gets high then exchange for gold

There’s already a thread about the high difficulty of the Retribution story quest in the Personal Storyline forum. The devs are aware of it, and Jeffrey has said he’s got some changes in the pipeline for the next big patch that should balance the difficulty properly.

In the meantime, some players have reportedly finished the quest quite easily by using the Sonic Cannon to bombard the courtyard and kill off lots of the Risen before heading down there to finish up the stragglers. You might want to try that if you don’t want to wait.

Just wait till when u get o the retribution quest… U will know what I’m talking about.

ARENANET better fix this issue… People will lose interest in game if they don’t fix it…

Did you guys notice the story quest is 10Xs harder than its suppose to be now, I can’t even do solo story now because NPC enemies do so much damage. Can you guys look in to it.
