You’re right. I’ll add them, since they cover more than just one profession’s perspective.

This section lists all up-to-date resources which will hopefully help the students enrich their knowledge about dungeoneering in the absence of mentors. What to expect here varies from dungeon monster database and simple walkthrough to visual guide, profession-specific meta builds and demonstration of speed clear tactics.

1. Lilith’s case: I’ll remove the tag then
2. Tree, Logan, Leo: I thought they’re still actively members of DnT. I personally haven’t seen Logan and Tree for awhile (due to my stay in EU) so I’m not aware of their availability. Will confirm with Nike later. Edit: Updated their tags/availability
3. KING fractal guide: Until a better guide shows up, they are still an invaluable resource for fractal beginners. DEKeyz’s guide is included in her Elementalist guide (and quite specifically for elementalists only). So I’ve been hesitating to show them exclusive from her guides.

How to list the skills and traits in your format? For example:

wiki=Restorative_Strength|(Strength_II)
wiki=Firestorm|(Fiery_Greatsword)

Sorry, I’m not familiar with writing these types of ‘language’ :p

Can you tell me about the group setting? Because the Fighting part with pug will be so much different than with an organized guild group, not to mention different guilds use different approach, too. I assume this whole guide is for a very generic pug with an understanding of meta builds?

I can help with Ele, and possibly Mesmer if I have more time.

100% Crit LH build?

in Elementalist

Posted by: Iris Ng.9845

Iris Ng.9845

Why would you go to such extreme (talking about the full assasin gears)? Even in a worst pug group possible where you have no spotter/discipline banner, you should aim for a decent self-supply of fury (+20% crit chance?). Lightning hammer once equipped also gives 180 extra precision!

You should go with DEKeyz’s guide. She’s already painstakingly calculated all the numbers.

Edit: Another good guide is from Haviz and Zelyhn where they also consider the solo aspect in great details (http://dulfy.net/2014/07/11/gw2-elementalist-pve-class-guide-by-haviz-and-zelyhn/)

Fiery Whirl

This is a high priority spell for the Fiery Greatsword. It deals high damage on low cooldown and evades for more than a second. You can therefore choose to save this to deal with incoming attacks. Fiery Whirl can hit your target for a maximum of 8 times depending on position, target size and freeness of movement: if used against a wall your enemies will take all hits. It is also possible to use this spell in combination with Lightning Flash by teleporting back in front of your target right after you Fiery Whirl through it thereby effectively striking the target with a double Fiery Whirl.

@ Lilith: It’s a fair statement.

@ Jerus: That downed system is starting to get on my bad side. Simply too OP as the teammate can revive the downed faster than what it takes to stomp him.

@ Spoj: The reason for PvP in an MMO? Probably just for fun and socializing. And maybe, the game play just get stuck and they enjoy it the more they explore.

@ Silber: 2 point domination. 3-point is quite rare or one sided and honestly not that interesting to watch.

I’m not talking about the two Tourney streams. I’m just talking about the everyday Joe’s stream on twitch at anytime of the day (minus the ones with hot babes playing). There are always sizable amount of viewers on sPvP/Mistpedia tourney. Heck, even I always check out Teldo (who retires infinitely but is arguably one of the best far-point engi in game) whenever he visits sPvP.

Hotjoin pond

I’ll root for you if your team join the next ToL. The way I see it, you’re just opinionated about the game mode you have no noticeable presence (or in Sandy’s words, “not an authority”). On the other hand, I still respect your point of view. Not your cup of tea? Cool. Just move on.

@maha: No wonder. I couldn’t care less about what the NA team does or can do as the bunker meta is strong here. As I have said, TCG holds my interest, and I’d like to see them wrecking everything. Also I’ve heard that the Chinese is a force to reckon.

GW2 pvp isnt a spectator game. Honestly dont know why they are trying to push for it cause it will never happen.

The way it is designed, it’s decent to watch, especially when there is a good game. Honestly, after following TCG in the ToL, I think they deserve all this attention at an international stage. I also notice that a PvP stream always gather more audience than a PvE stream, even if it’s a mediocre one. Human nature always leans on the competitive side. Besides, I disagree that the PvP community is the “smallest” one. Even within an elite guild like [SC], their PvP crowd is also as significant as their PvE counterpart.

I don’t know if many of you follow PvP or even GamesCon, no matter if you do or do not, could you please take a minute to vote for the TCG roster (Helseth, Denshee, Rom, Sizer & Tage)? I’d really appreciate it and I’m sure TCG would too!

I also would love to see Supcutie there (NA, you can vote for him without having to not-vote for TCG members) so if you could vote for him as well, I’d really, really appreciate it.

The mossman exploit is the only one that I can think of off the top of my head. I don’t know of any other ones unless you count blink/lightningflash/shadowstep to skip through tons of terrain.

Those mesploits are my favorite. Hardly counted as exploits to me, since you can’t totally skip the content with blink. (Either blink upwards or forwards yields the same result, anyways)

Of all mentioned, glitching Mossie underwater is cheap and glitching the cannoneers at Mai Trin is not intended.

Life stealing Jade Maw still falls within the combo mechanics unless Anet makes Jadie immune to life stealing. It’s like killing Marolna with reflected damage

P.S. Just a thought, when you edit your guide, could you please add in a description for which attunement camping? Sometimes the trait allocation is similar, but using different traits results in camping in different attunement, like 66200? I feel it’s easier for me to relate between the build and the rotations.

D/F is not a “bad” weapon when you enjoy a content at your own pace. It never reaches the high burst, high damage potential of S/D and S/F in a non- FGS situation. It feels safer and more fluid to use but does not pack enough impact when you race against time in a record run.

I’ve seen the screenshot of your toons and I’m quite amazed. Probably I’ll need some help. Can you help me find an armor set for asura female that will fit meteorlogicus or minstrel?

Thanks!

Some ideas that I totally rip off get inspired by my friend. Her original look is much better with pastel violet/pink/white color. This is seen worn on my engi, so pardon her color.

Iris Ng.9845

Yeah, I used 2/4/0/5/3 for that part with daze mantra and dom. signet just in case. The thing with pugs is they’re often yolo too much, and down left, right and center. One of the pug warrior is from an elite guild who blamed me for the lack of reflect (wtf!). So I favor focus for the extra reflect from curtain and, with luck, wardens.

P.S. I’m not too keen on running with my guild either.

P.P.S. In the Aetherblade fractal, we can portal upward to skip both laser puzzles. When stacking against the golems at the last boss, I think we can reflect the pull from them at the second and third phase. I’m trying dazing them just before they receive the static shield buff. Is the daze mantra unblockable? Do we have any unblockable attack? I’ve been using focus and pistol offhand there.

P.P.P.S. I’m still unable to do the portal-harpy skip. Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy !!!

Post a pic of your character only if your armor is mix-n-match

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Iris Ng.9845

Iris Ng.9845

I would like some side-by-side comparison of a full set of x armor and the mix-match version. Some of these while looking awesome, look like they are part of a set anyway(maybe you’re that good at matching).

I like this format. My general tips for mix and match are:

  • Look for pieces that evoke the same theme (otherwordly, mechanical, stylized, dressy or simplified, modern).
  • Similar texture (rustic, shiny, silky or rugged, chapped), similar design or element (layers, curve, stripe, ornate).
  • Streamline the silhouette. If they look busy, choose a more simple one. Less is more.
  • Blend everything in the harmony with dyes.
  • Bring about the subtle pop with one or two pieces of statement. Or highlight the detail with a really eye-catching dye.
  • Experiment a lot, and share your result with friends

Here are some examples of my characters. All these armors are easily recognizable. If anyone needs more details on them, I’d be glad to elaborate on them later.

Earlier I took 6/4/0/0/4 sword/pistol +/focus (for swiftness, nothing fancy) at Jade Maw. Put up two duelists at relatively close range and chain daze against the tentacles. It does work quite well.

Also noticed that pistol OH works better than Sword OH against the champions in the Harpy fractal. Duelists were alive relatively long when not getting aggro and the daze did come in handy. The only problem is I can’t kite the bosses exclusively by myself and wasn’t 100% in melee range. Any comments?

Gandara, people there are courteous, funny, mature, intelligent and sexy as hell. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay there for a couple of months.

Never play with Nova. He will leave you in the middle of the dungeon and kick the whole group out. Over a Hylek potty. No less.

Edit: Was it you, Nova?

The hentai tentacru, which has an OP range that can smash you if you try to run away from his massive bamf. A bird told me that one of his attack is ranged and you can reflect it but base on what I tested, it’s not consistent. Sometimes my wardens stay alive, sometimes they get squished and FB doesn’t help.

100 Precision + a Damage modifier. Not so tiny if we have to crunch the number. Anyhow, less than 4 points in Air means you have to use Precision food and/or Assassin Gear to make up for the loss of critical chance. You may as well consider what equipment you already have.
