What I would really love to see is a way to recycle ascended trinkets, even if they have a chance to give exotics. Just something for all the random trinkets we get from fractals and have no use. Maybe a recipe that requires 1 random trinket and some other mats and gives you a random exotic armor, weapon or trinket piece. Can also have chances for rare stuff or just raw mats, I don’t know I am just throwing ideas here. The recipe could even require Dragonite Ore, so this could be a way to get some use for that mat as well.
We want pants, we want pants, give us some pants!
And I would like a golden Unicorn!!!
Now grow up! Just because Legendary weapons, that cost a fortune to craft, offer you that luxury doesn’t mean that you should have this on anything. This is why they called Legendary!
Googly Eyes!!! Thank you man, this what we needed!
Btw, I cannot believe that Anet actually new what was going on, on the marketing department, I believe that they F* up with the false Advertisement first and then with the decision of the price and the bonus packages, they clearly had no clue of how Anet works and how they treat their costumers… so I believe people will get fired…
Anyone can buy one for me please?! I have no money or friends…
(kidding about the buy part, but indeed I cannot afford it lol)
I am happy for the new players getting that offer, cause it is easier to try the game when it is cheap and it is nice to have more people in the game we love. The problem is that the expansion’s size is too small for that amount of money so it seams like a good price for the new players, but an unfair deal for us. Yes ofc we played the game all this years and got some free content (seasonal events, living world 1) that the new players will never see, but we also invested a lot of money on Gem Store and supported the company!
The price should be lower or we should get more for that amount of money!
5. Conjurer trait means, “You gain may gain Fire Aura once every 60 seconds if someone picks up your Conjured Weapon… But you’ll probably don’t want that and prefer using that second Conjured Weapon on the floor for yourself because it fits your build better. Instead, you ought not to pick that horrible trait, and tell out loud to your teamate to -NOT PICK THE CONJURED WEAPON- before they think that you’ll be glad to have that Fire Aura.”
Many times happens to me to use a fiery greatsword so I can rush and then reuse it to leave, or use an ice bow to burst but I am getting focused so I have to through it away fast but people might pick them up so I cannot have them and some of them they don’t even know how to use them, so I have no control on that and the weapon goes just wasted…
A lower CD and cast time would be needed more that the more charges! Also, the conjured weapon should get a buff from a trait that it depends on what the caster is doing and not on that random person that might pick it up. The fire aura is just a random, irrelevant with conjures logic buff, like they couldn’t think of anything better.
I don’t believe that you loose something I mean any of the Core Specializations. Arcana it is going to be there.
Now, ye I would agree that the Air Theme of Tempest should have good mobility, daze, knockdown, and maybe some boon stripping. I would also love to see some new mechanics on the utility skills such as pull, taunt or float effects. I am also thinking Tempest as a control based specialization less than raw / high damage one.
Few weeks ago I made a thread about what I would like to see on Tempest, weapon and utility skills.
Some ideas for weapons skills would be:
Fire
Fire trap: Teleport (similar to the Flashing Light) summoning a fire tornado at your previews spot. The tornado leak flames and burns foes close to it.
Fire head: Buff your self with Fury, Might and swiftness. This skill could be also a finisher.
Water
Acid Rain: Summon a water storm that make enemies vulnerable and weak and heals allies.
Ice cube: Freeze (paralyze) your enemy for 1 second. (similar to Deep Freeze)
Air
Electric Skin(buff): Damage, weaken and blind foes that are hitting you.
Compressed Air: Through a wave of air around you damaging and dazing foes (similar to the Tequatle’s wave). This could be a finisher.
Earth
Rough ground: Create a rectangular field that cripples and bleeds foes, while giving 1sec of stability to allies.
Tactical retreat: Leap backwards leaving 3 lines of earth spikes that knockdown and damage enemies.
Utility Ideas:
- Summon a tornado that pulls enemies in and blinds them,
or Summon a tornado that floats enemies that caught on it, enemies get a small damage when they land.
- Release forward a line of 5 mini whirlwinds that knock down foes they touch and cripple them. The whirlwinds disappear after they hit an enemy, if not they continue moving on random directions for few seconds until they fade away.
(the cast works as “Fiery Whirl” but without the caster moving)
- Create a storm wall that slows enemies that try to cross it and applying fury to your allies. (also could apply other boons like quickness or swiftness – but maybe too op)
- Summon a cyclone that applies taunt to the enemies and gives stability to the allies that try to touch it. The cyclone stays still and can be killed.
- Summon a wind storm that vanish you and your allies into thin air for a few seconds (stealth) the storm applies 3 stacks of vulnerability with each pulse to the enemies that stay inside it.
Are you trying to mimic the Reaper using some Guardian inspiration as well?! I love to hear about Ele ideas but I ’ll be honest, those you suggest make not much of a sense and they lack inspiration… I am sorry…
Necro’s are just OP in general, too high health and a tone of conditions damage, more damage and some extra damage. Don’t compare it with Elemetalists please!
The Conjured weapons are indeed problematic and difficult to use. They are a good and interesting idea but they limit ele’s game play by a lot, they strip him of his mechanic, they contradicting to the ele’s nature.
Making them like Kits is a thought but I am afraid this could be a bit OP but not sure… anyways.
What I believe they could do is give us something like an access to our elements while on an conjured weapon, this is what we really miss when we are using them! Auras are already getting boosted and we have several ways to get more of them, also Conjures have nothing to do with Auras, is a different kind of game play.
The new trait “Conjurer” is irrelevant and useless! This trait could reduce recharge, increase charges and give us a buff related to attuments or better some passives like +100 power while on Fire, +20% Critical chance while on Air, 100 Toughness while on Earth, +100 vitality while on Water (the numbers are pretty random, you can figure the right values). This way we can change elements strategically while holding an Conjured weapon, benefit from it and not rush to trough it away. When we are getting low on health we can switch to Water or Earth instead get rid off the weapon.
hehe I don’t know if they are going this way but I like your idea a lot! It is innovating and interesting
Ah btw some of the skill ideas that you are describing remind me of a post I did some time ago about my thoughts on how Tempest could work. Check it if you like:

Ye the boon duration is an issue, just 10% more is too low and we even get a Grand Trait that gives us 2% more damage for each boon on us.
I feel that “Bountiful Power” is a very weak trait since we have less boon duration now and most of the time we ’ll have less that 5 boons on us, so ~10% more damage if no one strips our boons… In my opinion this trait should give 3% more damage or add another 10-20% duration to our Boons to have a chance to get picked for a build.
Ye I would like to have that back, I wasn’t playing when it was available… Also I loved the idea to be a glider skin, maybe something similar would look cool!
OMG! This is not a logic! You bought the game 3 years ago and you are playing (or could have) since then, you have experienced holiday events, living world and new content (Karka, Dry Top Silverwastes etc). You unlock personal story for free and had new pvp maps and other changes.
Don’t compare what you got back then with what you can get now! The price for an expansion like that is indeed too high and unfair, but the comparison it is not valid! And new players will get core game for free but they will have to pay the living story and also they will have to start from scratch!
It just seams like they count on us dying for new content and they put zero effort on making this deal more appealing to us.
They gonna buy it anyways, so lets make as much money as possible, who cares… That’s the vibe I get.
The price is too high for just the expansion, if it was like 35 euros it would be acceptable but 50 is too much and they kinda force us to go for Ultimate edition, else we gonna feel that our money have no so much of a value. Also, there is no reason to pre-purchase since the bonuses are nothing of interest (and most of us have a beta key).
Now, I was thinking as well not to buy the expansion till they put at on a discount, maybe a year later… but I don’t know… I just feel that it is not fair to pay so much for so little without even getting at least a considerable bonus.
Conjurer is one of the most weak and irrelevant traits they introduced so far. What Auras have to do with conjured weapons?! How lame is to get the Aura if someone else picks the weapon?! How is this helping elementalist to use Conjured weapons more efficiently?!
I believe they should change it to something that helps you to survive while using Conjures or something that give you access to your elements, like bonus passives while on an element.
I don’t really understand why we won’t have the Lingering Elements anymore. This is an essential to the elementalist mechanic, tool. They could just make them last a bit less, like 3 sec instead of 5, if they believe is going to be stronger after the minor’s changes, but erase it… that’s lame and sad…
Big plus, this will hurt mostly elementalist! I hate this change!
I would love a new dungeon and I think is kinda necessary but I doubt we are going to get one… except if they are hiding it on the “challenging content” category.
50 euros here is 1/8 of my salary! For such a small expansion and without any bonuses at least for the veteran players this price hurts me…
This is indeed a lame change, should at least be 900 if they want to nerf the range of the skill. And I don’t even like the grand master Shoothing Power, boring and weak!
I like it! Although I would recommend making it to not refer to specific puzzles because new players might want to discover them on their own without the game telling them where/what they are.
Maybe they could just give hints like “complete a Jumping puzzle in Hayathi Hinterlands”. It won’t tell you where exactly but you ’ll know in which map to search for it.
The pre-order bonuses are an illusion! Most of the active players have beta keys already and a tittle given just because you buy something has no true value since it was’t inquired in game through a challenge, so it is boring an lame!
Real bonuses could be a unique armor / weapon / headgear skin, free boosters to help you progress faster, black lion ticket or black lion keys, a unique Node for the house instance and many other things that they could offer… The extra beta key for a friend could also have a value, for them mostly since it can bring new players to the game.
I think that this is a good change, I like that I can feel that something difficult to craft is actually more rewarding, else why to even exist. Also, the last years we had no new category of gear no new gear goals and we won’t get anything now either. So, I believe this change is fair! Lastly everyone that is playing more than 3 months can easily have or start crafting ascended gear (I started playing the game at the start of May and by August I had full Ascended gear Celestial that is is the harder one to craft).
I don’t think people should QQ about it, it is not impossible to craft ascended gear, just more difficult than just buy it with 100 gold it TP, so when you invest more you should get more! Don’t be lazy people, Keep calm and craft Ascended!
Ah, I forgot to add that the base stats now change, so it won’t be that much of a big deal anyways.
I agree and I don’t even care about new people getting more with the same money – the core game – good for them! – except those poor guys that bought it earlier on a discount, sorry for them. I was playing this game for all this years and they didn’t, I gained experiences, I had fun and I saw and unlocked for free living world while they will have to pay to get it, so it is ok!
I only see the price objectively and I compare it with the content plus the bonus items we get. So the price, especially for my country is too high for what we get and the pre-order bonuses are an illusion (tittle has no value if it is not earned thought content challenges, plus I believe that most of us that play the game actively, have the beta key from the Silverwastes event). So the pre-order gift is empty!
(edited by Jaetara.4075)
Still after the changes I don’t feel that Ele can play effective Condi, but time will show…
I was disappointed as well, this is an important trait, I am always using it on pve… helps to boost our damage.
I am going to miss it, I hope they will reconsider and put it back maybe on another line. There are few useless traits that they kept like “Stop, Drop and Roll” this one could give his place I believe.

I won’t compare the price with what the new players are getting with it, this is immature. I will judge just the price for the expansion HoT and 50 euros I believe is a high price for what we actually get as a content. A more fair price would be 35 euros for just the expansion.
The 50 euro price should at least offer a free character slot and a total make over kit to feel it is worthy! The 75 euros price should have even more stuff like a bag slot expansion, or a bang tab expansion, or the storage expander and of course something decorative like a new armor or head gear skin. In general should have things that a veteran player will appreciate, something useful and something unique!
As for the pre-purchase bonus, this is basicaly nothing, a useless title and beta access… most of us melted farming Silverwastes to get that beta key anyways and we have it already… so this gift is empty!
Other games give you better deals for pre-purchase like a discount in the total price or in game bonuses, items and boosts extra just for ordering early. Buying it early is like you are buying a house by seeing only the yard just because someone told that it is what you want and need.

ele got buffed into the skies and you are not that satisfied…
The current meta build has been buffed. What about the ones that never were meta. They were left in the dust, and in case of signet builds, kicked in the nuts.
I don’t like using the same builds over and over, or to run into other elementalists who are all playing the same builds. That’s what I’m not satisfied about.
Well no ele been buff to fit in the meta due to the fire changes.
We practically have 2 mandatory traitlines, both of which necessary for survival, so even if we were to go in the fire traitline, we’d still not hit for all that hard. These fire changes also came at a time where they took away the damage modifiers in air attunement, so really we didn’t gain much.
With the previous reveal, at least there was a reason to ditch the arcane line, which added some reason for experimenting with other builds. They could have achieved something similar by
1) Making elemental attunement baseline but does not affect allies, or
2) Splitting elemental attunement and giving the effects to each of the element’s minor traits. This makes more sense now since they’re called specializations.
This would have lightened our reliance on the arcane line.PS. S/F fresh air definitely didn’t get a buff. Scepter’s main advantage in FA builds was its instant-cast spells aided by air modifiers. Bolt to the heart being grandmaster, and the nerf on air training means that Scepter fresh air builds have lost a lot of power. The removal of ICD on fresh air doesn’t do anything for scepter builds either, considering that the 2/3 would be on cooldown even if you could swap right back into air.
Fresh air D/F may emerge since the dagger auto is actually worth using, but even then, it wouldn’t be able do nearly as much burst.
Nerfing a well balanced and useful trait line is not the solution! – Ah lets make everything suck so you can pick a from a bigger variety of kitten.
No, the solution is to make the other trait lines more useful, strong and interesting.
Anyways with the changes we got I believe that Fire Line got a boost and Air is still good, only Earth is always too weak and irrelevant. My only problem are some specific traits, that either they disappeared while they were used a lot, like Stone Splinters, or they are brand new and they offer minor things that no one will pick cause there are many other better options like Bountiful Power or Soothing Power.
i would realy like to try full glyph, but if i do so i will screw my survivability much more then pushing my damage.
I tried that 2 weeks ago that I was on an experimenting mode, it was sooooo bad on sPvP, slow and low damage, long cast, big cool downs and nothing to survive. I failed hard! :P
Condi builds still seam unrealistic for Elementalist, as the usage of Earth line. I was hoping things would get more balanced but still most of our skill categories are weak and trait lines unbalanced. Some traits are not even debatable, no one will ever use them and some other are good but weak if you compare them to what other classes are getting. Our damage got nerfed and our options are limited as always!
So, please we are not saved we are just not completely destroyed yet.
(edited by Jaetara.4075)
I believe that there are 2 ways to be fair here:
1. Lower the prices to the existing packages to 30, 50 and 75 euros respectively.
2. Leave the prices as they are but Standard Edition should give you at least character slot and a character customization kit, Deluxe Edition should give you also extra bang space and maybe a special head skin, and finally the Ultimate Edition all that and the Gems.
This way I could feel that the purchase is worthy.
Ele got a small boost on some areas, but still many traits seam useless:
Conjurer / Stop, Drop, and Roll / Soothing Power / Bountiful Power and many skill categories have little of a reason to get some use: Glyphs / Signets / Conjures are too weak!
Glyphs > High cast and not rewarding enough
Signets > Boring and weak
Conjures > By using them elementalist looses his identity and cannot be benefited by his elements (unless he goes Arcana line for Elemental Attument and Evasive Arcana) he is just vulnerable!
Also, Stone Splinters is gone, Bolt to the Heart is now a Grand Master so less and less ways to deal good damage.
Lastly Earth line looks still irrelevant and weak for someone to pick it.
Check on what other classes get and you will understand that we got nerfed!
(edited by Jaetara.4075)
I don’t understand what is the reason for this boon to get a nerf. Is one of the best and most strategic buffs of the game, it give you access to more Endurance so more Dodge, so better control over your character if it is used wisely!
This mechanic of the GW2 is what makes combat so much active and better that any other MMO. With this balance patch, everything seams to get boosted, condition damage goes over the top and Rangers, Mesmers, Enginners get a huge boost (almost s surreal). Nerfing Vigor gives less tools of defending our selves and limits the feeling of control in battle.

I agree that the standard edition should have the extra slot or at least the prices should be more fair for what you are getting. Like 30 euros for Standard (if no character slot included), 50 for Deluxe and 75 for Ultimate.
I have the feeling that they bet on us dying for new content, so we going to buy it anyways.
I don’t get why they changed the range of this trait, it is already weak and it won’t linger anymore… Don’t tell me about the grand master soothing power, no one will use that.
Literally almost crying tears of joy… They listened…
They listened, indeed, on some obvious things, but many changes are making things worse.
Goodbye lingering elements
I will
not
miss you
What?! This was a key element to the Elementalist, how you won;t miss it?!
I cannot believe it does no longer exists…
Firstly, if an elementalist uses both Water and Earth line with full defensive and healing traits, he will suck on everything else. Please don’t compare it to the Warrior, we are not wearing Heavy Armor and we don’t have the damage that Warrior has even when he is playing defensive.
Secondly, Soothing Mist is so weak that no one will sacrifice a Grand Master to boost it… also it works only while on Water. Warrior’s Signet works always! Elementalist meant to change Attuments he cannot stay on Water for ever, it is not beneficial.
Thirdly elementalist is the only class that really lacks useful tanky abilities (maybe thief as well). Those trait changes, might give him an extra build to focus on, but still I doubt it, there are other more effective ways to play.
I understand why to remove it, since you get Fire Aura from Fire Attument. But still, Signets really need something to make the stronger and worthy to use…
What I suggested, on another thread, about Conjures is to make a trait that instead of giving you a random fire aura, could give you benefits depending on the element you are while holding a conjured weapon.
What elementalist lacks when uses Conjures, is his elemental identity, he is so vulnerable without it! So, and idea would be when equiping a conjured to get a buff that gives you toughness while on earth, power while on Fire, precision while on Air and vitality while on Water.
Off course your idea is pretty nice but I think it is a bit extreme to go to that logic. Remember that Conjures also give you some bonus stats when you hold them, so they cannot be treated as kits.
I think that ele got some nice changes, but mostly got nerfed.
Earth line seams to be the most weak and irrelevant trait line. Not enough good defensive traits to make a tanky Ele viable, so why to bother…
Water line has many weird and useless skills leaving you only few obvious options.
Example: Piercing Shards working only while on water and without the existence of Shard Ice… you need vulnerable foes and skills that deal damage for this to work!
Also, Soothing Mist got nerfed? why? This trait is already too weak…
Arcane even with Elemental attument on Minor got weaker, no linger elements, no 30% boon duration, no blasting staff! The new grand master trait Bountiful Power isn’t as good as the rest of the options.
Signets and Glyphs still weak.
Conjurer, this trait should give you a way to benefit from Attuments while you hold them, else you are too vulnerable using Conjured weapons.
