No, they don’t. If we had to contemplate what we would actually loose when we seriously mess up and die to our opponents, then the fights would actually be more interesting.

What causes a rout on the battlefield? Fear. I have absolutely no fear when I fight in these modern MMO’s, and as weird as it sounds, that is pretty sad.

Can’t say I’m not having some fun, but I still keep hoping that someday, some company with heart would again step up and make a MMO with real PvP.

Yep, only two guild went to TC. Two went to Blackgate, I believe a few went to Kaineng, one went to JQ.

I think the rivalry TC and CD have had since I can remember has jaded most former CD-ers from transferring to TC. xD

I know I’ve always despised TC… but maybe it’s because when CD sees TC, we just roll over without trying.

Actually that’s not true. TC had nothing but respect for CD and even joined in the infamous planned Dolyak parade. I know for me personally, after Yak’s Bend players, CD players are amongst my favourites.

Our tent is probably pretty awesome. Mosquito net, double zipper doors, water repellent, you know…classy…and large enough for our entire WvW force to rest comfortably (sleeps 8…)

With server caps extended, thought I’d put this up one more time so folks can read through unfiltered thoughts about other servers from players long before any of this server transfer stuff started.

If I was looking for a new server, I’d use this as a tool to help me decide. Objective comments from opponents, outside of feedback from the server’s players itself, is probably a good source to determine your best fit.

When I found the game a bit grindy, I jumped into WvW and found after level 50 or so the xp gain was significant. WvW is constantly changing, and even if you hate pvp (as I did), you’ll find it has something to offer for everyone. I’d highly recommend giving it a few days trial, then when you get a couple levels, you can go back out and continue on your personal storyline, craft, harvest, dungeons etc …

Only a WvW player refrehes the MOS matchups, their current game thread, their community forum, and this thread .. over and over and over again!

I would suggest because of other outside mitigating factors like the full and robust RP community, a very active PVE community pretty much every hour of the day, and the general mature audience of the server that TC is probably one of the better ones to pick to make a permanent home. While other servers may see ups and downs in population, TC likely won’t ever lose its overall full status. I think it’s an important thing to consider, given that down the road there probably will be server mergers … this will likely never affect TC.

If you’re tired of jumping from one server to another in search of something more stable, TC is probably your best bet.

The issue, as many have mentioned, is getting in. It’s a North American based server, but we have folks from all over the world playing. Your best bet is to try at hours that take into account the three time zones in North America. Try before the East Coasters wake up, and try after the Pacific Coasters go to bed.

Another thing: It appears opening and closing your world map selection doesn’t accurately reflect the server status. It seems that the only way to get an accurate refresh is to literally close the game and reboot it. Hope that helps.

Yeah me too. Have posted here and bug reported it. There’s a pile on the necro skillpoints that have those extra M’s as well. Summmon with three M’s was the big one

Conversely TC will likely always stay with the same population because of other mitigating factors.

It’s your call really, but there is something to be said for momentum.

According to your own players, you guys have so much internal strife and conflict about remaining competitive. You’ve had 1 guild just up and leave with countless other original TC players. You have half your player base wanting an organized alliance, the other half wanting to keep TC true to its colors. Your biggest WvW guilds which are carrying your server are getting so much heat they are even thinking of transferring to other servers.

You seem to have a lot of opinions about the state of SoR and the mindset of its players peppered through all your posts in this thread. You should really worry about your own house before you try and help others.

I found the sweet spot for xp gain in WvW is around level 50. With consistent turnover of camps, etc… I got my level 50 toon to 80 in four days of very casual WvW play.

Before that, I found the xp gained crawled …. Likely because i didn’t have the gear/skills to make a big enough dent.

Nothing definitive has been said on that, but the premise, according to anet folks is if any siege isn’t ticked (used) every thirty minutes, it will despawn. However there have been reports of golems, in particular, despawning in fewer than 10 minutes if not ticked.

Only a WvW player knows chest thumping is not restricted to gorillas.

It’s not a hack or exploit.

Easy mode is playing a thief in WvW. It’s like playing a single player game on easy difficulty.

Go play a thief in PvE then talk.

Actually, go and play in WvW then talk. The only people that truly complain about thieves have never played one for a significant amount of time in WvW. When I get bored of being indestructible on my Guardian, I play my thief to remind me that you can actually die when you make a mistake.

I’d LOVE them to spend time on the BLs, but sadly their first love is EB. I think they’d wreak havoc on the BLs tho.

while this post was being issued .. i marched on stonemist an invaded the sentrys standing guard. Then i found my spare set of keys to the back door an made my way to the fridge…. YOU ARE NOW OUT OF MILK AND EGGS.. I started to solo cap it an destroy all within .. but then dragonkitten came on the tv an lost intrest in owning that castle . Besides the upkeep to that place is too expensive.. i’d rather rent Cliffside for a few days .

TO that skrit that keeps callin me on the stolen cell phone ..ima take that shiny piece an shove it straight up your yak . Just left arah an noticed a 40 man zerg headed for a supply yak ….i do believe you could use 20 more .. those yaks can be quite deadly ..Chuck norris trains our yaks so just be cautious .

Now on to a subject more near an dear to my heart , the continuing lack of saftey courses for the siege weapons. HOw many times have you found your self loading the treb with a sick cow and the guy firing the catapult 10 feet away from you slams a rock .. at you . This is very unaceptable. and seriously, arrowcart guy is gonna put a eye out …im tired of running back into a keep dodge rolling arrows im not sure are ours . Osha will be coming and they do hand out fines .

Does SoR not show up during the day, or is their lead just so huge that they don’t care? I was looking forward to attacking their stuff on EB but SBI took away that option.

I imagine the SoR regulars are giving themselves a well-earned break.

Some of us are still out there having fun, I don’t see the point in us completely dominating you guys like other servers have done to us in the past. We’re here to have a fun and social experience first and foremost. Many of our late night commanders are from the US staying up for ridiculous amounts of time and deserve a well earned rest like you said.

Definitely had some great battles last night. Man I love those Pangloss battles. A TC member even saluted me last night after I put a ballista down their gullets, I wanted to return the salute but couldn’t find which bodypart belonged to which pirate, so many peglegs and eyepatches o.O

With the influx of so many new guilds and personalities, I’m sure it’s also much easier to create a sense of cohesion when you’re winning over losing. Going up to tier 1 too early and getting stomped, I’d imagine, would cause some conflict, and likely see a few leave too.

I can appreciate you guys playing with the rating system to ensure you have enough feel good victories under your belt before you move up. It’s frankly the smart thing to do.

Or y’know, those that are so focused on WvW only could head to the lowest tier a la kaineg and proudly raise it up without interference from “those silly rpers.” TC is the unofficial RP server. Conversely WvW can be found on any server. Take your pick.

Honestly it’s threads like these that create a greater rift. I was appalled, but not surprised, when I read it. There are plenty of rpers in WvW, fighting every day. Perhaps folks just don’t realize it.

I think Maladon should post that “Asura Defiant” pix again. We could all use the chuckle.

I know TC would be happy to welcome you! And I doubt there is more fun to be had than can be found on TC! Great community, active wvw that is just lacking a little coverage to make us a real contender! No matter where you choose GL:HF!

The benefits of moving to TC goes beyond WvW. It’s what ensures the server will be stable for the long haul. I would suggest those looking for a permanent home investigate TC, simply because the overall population will not shift, no matter the score. When they start merging servers sometime down the line, you can be assured that TC won’t be affected.

It’s kind of nice to see people out everywhere you go, at any hour of the day, in pve. It’s just an added perk to our server.

Just putting this back up so folks can read and decide for themselves if they’re contemplating a move to another server.

The reason TC loses so few people win or lose is because of what it offers beyond WvW … It translates into overall stability. I think I’d take that over a weekly/monthly score any day.

Only a WvW player will marvel at how much exercise her toon’s getting running back and forth from the supply camp — and feel slightly guilty they didn’t hit the gym themselves.
