No its not this, there were massive queues within seconds of reset tonight…

and not just on high pop “hardcore” wvw servers, numerous servers are experiencing this.

Its clear they significantly reduced the WvW population allowed in the zones.

Yep, but we have been seeing issues with this since the Monday patch … and what has been working for us is encouraging our folks to zone out of WvW before they leave for the night. We started seeing space free up and actual bodies arrive.

We recognized there was something significantly wrong when were were getting queues on 2/4 maps during 8am EST timezone .. we did get a few guilds in that time period, we’re very lucky to get them, they’re all awesome people and have fit in really well … but that wouldn’t account for the queues and corresponding lack of bodies. We had been overwhelmed by SoR’s number — they were literally spawn camping all our exits, and we had queues on our BL’s and only 20 people at the spawn … we did run around looking too, but found none that could add up for the queue times.

Maybe you guys are just seeing it now in the queue times .. but folks have reported seeing their friend’s little blue dot on map long after they logged out. Something funky came with that Monday patch .. it could be something as simple as a code issue with the new culling counter.

What I’m saying in relation to the reset queue times is that folks could have been on your maps when the reset happened, forcing them out into Lion’s Arch … and leaving a ghost behind, taking up space.

Incorrect. This incident was during the first week that TC moved up to tier 2, not lately. I assume that is why we have a difference in opinion.

Yep. But you’re still new to tier, the same principle applies.

All servers will be worth the same points. BG isn’t going to be looking to hit FA anymore then they are TC. Their server strat is usually very opportunistic. So if TC or FA have a grudge BG will piggy back on that. BG wants to get the most points possible out of this match as it’s a building point for the race to T1.

From what I have noticed of the forums(not always a good representation) so far FA seems to have something to prove so I expect them to come out hard after TC. Which means BG will likely do the same and ignore FA until there are no points left to gain from TC.

TC expect to fight a 2v1 most of the night. It might not happen but I would bet a fair amount on it based on what I have seen.

FA I know you got better coverage from some IoJ guilds but that won’t be enough against BG. You need big 24/7 coverage to be able to compete at a T1 level right now. From what I can tell you still have some coverage gaps since DB was able to out PPT you during parts of the day earlier in the week. 18/7 coverage won’t cut it, you simply can’t recover for getting 500+ PTT against you for a few hours a day.

Who knows though, no one has seen FA at this level. Maybe they will surprise me.

Interesting analysis, but I don’t agree. From a pure math standpoint, the biggest (and easiest) gains to be had are targeting the third place server. Particularly one new to the tier. Take emotions out of the equation and it’s the logical move. I highly doubt BG will ignore FA in favour of TC. But I’m sure they’ll give us plenty of love, too

Hope this gets fixed before tonight. Otherwise I would hope the “official” reset match is pushed off a week or so until it is fixed. Can’t get an accurate rating reading if we don’t have an accurate body count on map. This isn’t just for TC, but a lot of servers experiencing this.

I’ll put this here too .. I would hope that Anet pushes off the “official reset” match week until this is fixed. It’s apparent there is a serious issue, and if we go into a week with this bug, all server’s representative “strength” will not be accurately counted.

Tested this out yesterday on my mesmer that has rune of the vampire equipped and sure enough, when I went into mist form, I saw the word “invulnerable” pop up on my screen several times.

Oh I dunno. My main is an ele and kicks butt in pve, even more so in WvW. Incredibly useful class, can block treb firing, can aoe enemies at top of keeps, can take out mass groups of players using d/d and teleport …. the only thing it’s missing is the ability to swap weapons out .. but with four stances, I imagine if they gave ele’s the ability to weapon swap they’d be unbeatable.

My latest “love” is my necro. Initially I found she died a ton, but once I got a handle of the class I find her incredibly powerful and fun. For me, using the staff was key to survivability .. along with investing in the blood trait lines. If you WvW a lot, I find I get more badges off my necro than any other class out there .. I think it’s mostly because their AOE spells hit the enemy first and therefore “claim” the badges, even if others finish them off.

Lol it did. Well for the most part. I think some of those SoR fellows just wanted a little moose meat for dinner. Thankfully after they’d nibbled on me, and a few others, the tryptophan kicked in and they joined in the fun. Most made it all the way through with zero deaths, which speaks volumes of how great it was When I compare it to that first fateful dolyak parade waaay back when, it was a roaring success! It’s pretty freaky to run in a sea of red names, but that’s half the fun.

Honestly, I’m looking forward to you guys next week. We need an active third party, even if they hate our guts. I don’t mind coming in third place – but it is terrible when the third server has only 20-30 active players for the whole server. Seriously, the guys hanging in there on SBI deserve the highest respect.

SBI made a push onto TCBL today and our whole map actually cheered. They were taking a whole pile of stuff on different maps today, was good to see.

I honestly thing a duck sized horse would be worse. That might be because i have a few birds, my kittenatiel probably only weighs a pound but hes vicious, you get a horse sized duck in there and i do not want to engage in old timey fisticuffs with that thing… my mustache isnt nearly large and curly enough.

Well at least the duck part was a funny moment in the thread. Thank you Envi for starting that.

Psykoyul. They do have Anet devs in game, have seen a number of them running around our server in WvW. You get more bees with honey m’dear. The fact that Habib took the time to let us know they’ve run tests was nice — they didn’t have to do that or let us know they did. I would imagine he’ll read this thread again today and take a poke around again. But as frustrating as it may be right now, it’s probably not a great idea to go on the offensive over it .. I know if I had the option of doing something on a long list of things that need to be done, I’d be more inclined to help out the folks who are being nice in their requests.

Just putting this in this thread too .. one of my teammates speculated whether the new culling fix, where it renders player’s shapes ahead of time to help battle the culling issue, might be the culprit of these missing bodies on map. That something in the coding is taking up a spot on map for a player that’s not actually there – or duplicating the players somehow?

The only reason I’m suggesting it may be something to do with that is logical elimination … you look at what has changed over the past week to have an affect on things presently. We know there was a patch update to add this feature in, so I’m wondering if this isn’t part of what we’re seeing now.

No I think other NA servers are seeing this too … one of my teammates actually speculated as to whether this new culling system may be the culprit .. as it creates bodies/rudimentary placeholders ahead of time to battle the culling issue … wonder if it’s a bug in that coding that’s making the map think there’s more people there than there actually is?

If it is an organization issue, I can understand that, we are pretty free-spirited generally. I’ve got more tinfoil hat theories, which I won’t bother putting here, because if they are true, it’s just sad, and if they aren’t, there’s no reason to start rumors.

As a player on SoR, I have to say it’s almost definitely an organization issue. I can count at least 4 times in the past week where I’ve been walking alone back to a group or just roaming solo, where a TC zerg finds me and I run to the corner of a map that has no use to anyone, yet 15+ TC (twice a commander followed me as well in this group) chase me down for well over a minute to get a single kill. At the same time, your zerg gets strung out as a large number is chasing me.

Meanwhile, I have time to let everyone know over map chat where a large group of TC is and give a pretty accurate number as I have no allies that affect culling. I’m not stupid enough to suicide into a group of 15 TC no matter how survivable my build is and I pose an extremely small risk to your group. As you chase me, the strung out zerg makes very easy pickings for reinforcements when they do come.

This is not intended in any way to bash on TC, but I did want to put my input into this thread to know what it looks like from the other side. I love fighting against you guys and wish you all the best of luck in future weeks. With more organization, you guys can be a real force in WvW.

I think that’s fair comment, but we really are seeing odd/buggy queue times that aren’t reflecting the actual numbers on map. I’ve run around checking nooks and crannies for the missing numbers, another couple of TCers did it tonight … And we can’t seem to locate the number of players that would equate to a queue. Honestly I’m quite OCD about how I look too … Systematically.

We tried to catapult Durios from and we were wiped by a group of SoR atleast 3v1 and quite a few decided to do this because it was obviously a fair fight… I know not all of SoR is like this but I’ve seen it more and more often since the transfers a few days ago I was 1v1’ing a thief from CDS and I downed him a few times and he rallied off drakes nearby then I was killed by the zerg and he proceeded to message me saying how amazing he was and I should learn to 1v1… really?

I know what you wanted to display with that screenshot but the best part is your guild chat. “I’m afraid a banana from me must be earned”. LOL! Love you guys on TC. You definitely know how to have a good time!

We’ve actually gone running around map looking for the extra bodies and haven’t been able to locate them .. or account for the tiny amount in the fighting group versus the stated queue for us to get into say TCBL. It’s a head scratcher, because even if there is a three minute delay of one person transferring from one map to another, we’re seeing this for a longer period of time than that would account for.

But I suppose it is possible I missed a nook or cranny .. or any of my teammates did … hrm, will have to be more thorough next time. Appreciate the feedback, I’m sure TC isn’t alone in seeing this.

What I’d REALLY like for April Fool’s day on WvW is the ability of a dolyak escorter to turn any attacker into a doylak, with slowed down speed, little defenses … basically the minute an enemy gets close to the dolyak, the escort service can use a proc to change them.
