Thanks for ironing out a ton of bugs that came with launch. It’s great to have the trading post up and working again (with next pages so you can see all your stuff and not have to guess). Thanks also for fixing various other issues that have cropped up .. there will always be more, but you guys must have been working around the clock to get the bulk of these under control.

So as part of your playerbase/fanbase, just wanted to say thank you.

If you want to play pve and pvp on two different servers, I’d suggest making your home server the one you will pvp on … then you can visit as a guest to pve/quest with your friends any time you’d like for free.

The only limitation between guesting on another server and playing on your own, is you cannot participate in WvW events on the server you go visit. You can, however, do pretty much everything else.

1 copper ingot = 10 copper ore + 1 tin .. you do appear to be missing one .. maybe you need one more tin?

Each guild can set its own rules. If you don’t like it, then as someone suggested, vote with your feet. I’m pretty sure it would annoy the heck out of me if I joined a guild and they demanded cash, but I wouldn’t stay long.

Your CC is stored on file for further purchases … I agree though, there should be an option to remove it if you want.

As for the legality of it, don’t think this is a problem. Stores like Amazon.com keep your credit card on file and there’s no legal issue with it. It’s the customer’s choice to keep it filed or not.

I prefer scepter (can nuke from a distance after sending in elemental to fight) and the totem (in earth stance it offers a stoneskin and a shield that reflects projectiles back at the mob).

I’m now at level 47 as an ele and found the earth attunement with the scepter and totem (that square thing, can’t remember the name for the life of me, I think I need more coffee) … I’ve also sacrificed a bit of crit for toughness and vitality in most of my gear and subsequently because of those two choices have been able to solo all of my storyline and other mobs so far.

The scepter lets you do ranged damage and has a wind blast stun, and the totem gives you two very useful shields — one is stoneskin that makes you invulnerable for a couple of seconds (useful for not dying lol), the other is a barrier that reflects any projections aimed at you and sends them right back to the mob.

Couple those with earthen elemental that you get from skill points and the 10 point earthen elemental in elite, along with Signet of Earth (passively gives you protection, actively roots your target in place), and the 10 point storm that creates an aoe whirlwind, it makes it very easy.

Only things that I would like to see are in combat weapon swapping for ele, and some useful interrupt skill when downed (like all other classes have).

There’s a lava fount that appears when downed as one of the options under your trait points … first five points into fire gets you that as an option.

The healing from the water glyph is too slow and I’ve put traits into water to have the passive heal and it is just too slow. What ele needs (to remain as it is) is an entanglement spell to keep monsters stuck in place.

There is one available that locks the mob in its place and toughens your skin/armour .. it’s in the third tier, 10 point one or 3 point one I believe .. mouseover and you’ll find it. Passive gives you constant earthen protection, active spell is like a chain rooting the target in one place for a bit. The cooldown on the chain spell is long, so don’t rely on it for your entire fight.

I’ve been having major issues with spells not always working but the skill goes into cooldown mode. A perfect example is the Meteor Shower. It is great when it goes off but that is only 10% of the time if I’m lucky. Often nothing will happen. There is also a water one that fails to go off that I cannot think of right now.

If you get interrupted it does stop the spell from functioning, but the range on that meteor shower is significant .. try stepping back from the fight and using it and likely you’ll have more success. There’s a windstorm stun that lasts a good few ticks that you can use in earthen stance using a scepter, try using that if you’re in a solo fight then flip back to fire for meteor shower.

I’ve been playing an Ele as my main and have settled in with earth stance for the most part, using scepter and ward (that square thing, gah, it’s late I can’t remember the exact name) …. the ward offers me stoneskin (which makes you invulnerable for a period of time) and reflection buff that any ranged shot deflects right back at the mob. The sceptre lets me shoot off ranged damage. I’ve also sacrificed a bit of crit for toughness and vitality in most of my gear .. at 47, I have about 5K in health and I rarely go down in a fight. It takes a little longer to kill the mobs, but with the earthen elementals (I use two during a particularly hard fight and then use the AOE wind storm), I’ve been able to solo all my personal storyline right up to 47 without much effort.

Oh wait … don’t make a new character .. I was thinking of another set of children! They’re just below Divinity’s Reach in a cave .. four or five of them roleplaying .. if you follow them as they “adventure” and kill off the mob that surprises them (think you have to do a couple times), and run back to the cave, they start a puzzle quest where you answer questions about the world’s heroes and leaders to win a prize

If you wait around and follow them it reveals a puzzle that you can win a chest prize if you answer their questions correctly.

Won’t he need more power for that xfx card? 750 watts? I know you need at least two free power connections to hook that up .. I have an xfx 6950 and it needs two, but runs at about 102fps at max settings, which is great.

Tip:

Light effects from torch’s Offhand or Light emitting spells help alot in a certain room. failed while saw some people behind me waiting there.

brought out a torch rest was easy and saw the people waiting doing the same after, lol

There’s also a torch you can pick up there that’s lying over to the right on the ground as you come into that area. Helped a lot, but use the burn ground .. lights up the whole room .. others there thanked me for getting it lol

Just did this and it was incredibly awesome! LOVED the pirate taunting me all the way through! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Also did the Troll Garden in Lion’s Arch .. was fun too

I originally posted what I believed was a bug … The conversation changed organically from responses. And if they did have “next” pages for that tab and now no longer do … Seems to be a bug.

Hrm wonder why they did it this way? Makes it difficult if you want to remove a specific item and it’s hidden by your recent 10 list …. Also makes it harder to keep track of stuff … Would definitely vote for item list next pages if possible … Less of a headache, plus resolves a ton of issues players have about bought and sold goods.

38. You can only have 10 emails from other players in your inbox at one time. If you don’t delete them you won’t receive any new ones.

Oh no! I know what happened … If it works the same as tailor the karma recipes are for augments that you use to add to hats gloves tunics etc… If you bought the karma recipe from the crafting vendor near the crafting station.

If it was an npc out in the field he gives you the base recipe … Which you say you have …. To make them malignant you need to combine the base item with a malignant insignia I think …. I think …. Lol

Only if you are in the map when the event triggers.

I believe it did so because of the volume of folks doing the portal event prior to the shadow behemoth appearing… There’s an event just prior where you’re supposed to eliminate the portals and beasts that spawn from them …. It’s similar to the behemoth event but on smaller scale and would make sense in a hierarchy/step/tier method that devs have mentioned happens with dynamic events.

Or was this during the beta event when all the events were on a decreased timer? I believe the event runs every 2 hours or so (only a guess).

Actually for those who are 80 already … Would love to hear some feedback on what “end game” is like ( I use quotes because gw2 isn’t really about the end but more the journey) … I’m not really into pvp … Are there at least options of things to do?

Even if you can’t craft it yet it should show up as red in your recipe list. If you picked two trades you may need to use the drop down to get to the right trade … Found on your hero window.

Also and I know this is silly to ask .. Did you A: double click to learn the recipe from your bags and it diss appeared? Or even more silly … Did you pick armoror as one of your two trades?

Just wanted to put a plug in for a great graphics card I just bought for about $200 (Canadian) … Xfx 6950 with dual fans. Solo card with i7 system and 8 gigs ram runs consistently at about 102 fps at max settings, have even seen it hit 120fps at some points.

LOVE this card and it’s not over the top expensive. And better still keeps at about 45 degrees F after 9 hours of gameplay … Lol, yes I know I play too much.

Issue with buying and selling unidentified dyes :

Hello I have been buying and selling unidentified dyes and everything was fine until today. I noticed that I am not being returned the amount it says I should.

I sold 22 dyes @ 5s 97c and paid a fee of 6s 57c that was deducted from my money on hand. I should have made a return of 1g 31s 34c and it only returned 1g 18s 24c. Where is the missing money going?

I tried it twice to affirm my suspicions. It seems to be a bug, please fix =)

If you need screenshots I can do again but it’s getting costly =/

I was wondering if anyone knew if the trading post worked the same way as email. With email, you can only have 10 in-game emails from friends in your in-box before it’s full and you have to delete to receive any more.

Currently you can only see 10 items up for sale that you’ve listed.

Does that mean:

A: You can only sell 10 items at a time, and any over that amount vanish or overwritten?
B: You can only sell 10 items at a time, and as those items sell the rest of the items you’ve put up for sale fill the queue?
C: All of your items will appear for sale, you can only just see your most recent 10?

Any feedback from the devs would be greatly appreciated!
