First off, you’re likely going to have issues trying to get onto a full server over the weekend. That’s prime playing time for most folks.
What I would suggest is that you stay up late, about an hour past the midnight time for the server’s zone, when players are heading to bed, and try then. Or alternately, wake up really early before the bulk of the playerbase and try then.
For example, Tarnished Coast is a North American server and is constantly “full.” My friend got on by waiting until midnight PST (when those out on the West Coast are finally going to bed), and managed to get on — this was during the week. Another got up super early 7am EST, and managed to get on, again during the week and not on the weekend. Because it`s a North American server that means that three time zones have to be taken into account — East Coast, Central and West Coast.
If you`re going to stay up late to try, you have to wait until the West Coast goes to bed. If you`re going to get up early to try, you have to be up before the bulk of the East Coast gets up.
I`m not sure where Dragonbrand is based out of .. if it`s North America, then I suggest you try what my friends did for Tarnished Coast. If it`s EU, then you`ll have to figure out the times for the earliest risers and latest bedtimes .. and try around those hours.
Good luck! It`s a fabulous game.

Worked perfectly for me .. but make sure you pick the one you want. One will only let you alter hair and makeup etc … the other will let you alter skin tone, hair, body, etc … mouseover because they’re very specific on what they do.
Orian, that stuff likely would be harder to find on a single toon/account (I’m assuming that Kestrel found the bulk of these images by using the pvp wardrobe).
… if you have any of those items, you should take a screen grab, detail its name and stats and email it to Kestrel to help build the gallery .. that goes for anyone else reading here … if you have rare loot armour, you should screen grab and email to Kestrel to help with the gallery.
Another thing we can do to help Kestrel out: If you have a piece of karma gear that’s in the gallery and you know where to get it on the map (specifically the karma merchant’s name, which zone and location), add it here so Kestrel can add that info to the gallery.
Once again Kestrel, cannot thank you enough for all this work. Amazing job. Was just thinking of ways we could help you … it’s such an enormous task, and so useful to many.
In the following mission, Sabotage, it’s Thurkill who’s dialogue doesn’t match screen text.
The prior mission, I noticed the same issue with Scholar Prott .. text on screen doesn’t match what he’s verbally saying.
In the Dredge Assault storyline for Norn, Scholar Prott often doesn’t say what the text is on the screen. The screen has a sentence written out, and he says something entirely different … below are three examples of how the verbal dialogue doesn’t match screen text:
… so I decided to make one. I prefer casting classes, and this one seems to have multiple choices for that. Now bear in mind, my messer is only in her teens, but wow, I’m finding her really hard to play without dying over and over.
I’m sure it’s something I’m not doing right on my end, so would appreciate any suggestions you could offer to help me with survivability.
Ironically, I’ve levelled an ele to 80 as my main — a class folks complain all over these forums as tough to survive/play — but where I found the ele easy to play/survive, I’m finding it difficult with my messer.
Lol, it’s frustrating me to no end and I really want to enjoy/play this class.
Hooray for sticky!
I suck at jumping puzzles, I fall off over and over, but I keep trying. I’ve found the best way to complete them is to just go slowly. We’re always in such a rush to get to the end and that’s usually when you fall or make mistakes.
Oh one other thought .. I know you said you had done PVP area .. did you zone into one of the pvp instances? There’s two WPs there, plus a poi or two I think.
Did you go into the Order of Whispers zone in the cave in Bloodtide Coast?
I love my ele! She’s my main. But I honestly don’t find her that difficult to play. It could be because it fits my playstyle, but have tried other classes and keep coming back to my ele.
Hoping this thread gets stickied, but if not, going to link it here because this is a fabulous resource to see what all the different in-game armour looks like:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/players/Complete-armour-gallery/first#post832382
This is fabulous! Thank you! … It totally should be stickied up at the top. Great source to reference.
Really bad lag this morning … zoning takes 3-5 minutes and maps are slow to load. My graphics load incredibly slowly that sometimes can’t even see my body after I zone.
I adored the final 2 hour battle .. I was impressed by how everyone rushed to rez others to keep the fight going (and I was on an overflow server, so it was folks from all over working together) … the whole thing was intense, with many many deaths, but y’know, didn’t mind so much and just made me all the more determined to work with the group to take them down. Hard? Yep. But I guess that’s what I loved about it.
Firsties (I’m sure of many) of today’s epic ancient karka fight … mine is in the final phase of the battle in the pit, the karka roars in first pix, then faceplants into the lava in second pix.
Probably my favorite Fractal
How did you get beyond the two shield part? Was with a group and we tried everything imaginable … sadly today’s event made us quit early .. but would be nice to know if I run across it again.
OH! Thank you!!!
Oh! Lemme try that! Thank you Gummi!
Oh but wait .. lol got all excited there for a second .. the issue is I cannot even see the shells in the discovery tab .. so even if I made an insignia, it wouldn’t help I don’t think because there’s no apparent way to use them.
Edited to add: Someone in crafting thread explained the recipe thing .. Gummi, you were indeed right .. for those who are dumb like me .. there’s already a recipe in your recipe list for an apothecary insignia as Gummi said .. so there’s no recipe to “discover”.
(edited by Jayne.9251)
when you go to the discovery window of the tailoring station, they don’t appear as something to drag in … see pix.
So it appears there’s no use for tailor? Am I missing something?
Please see pix below … but it says tailor can use .. however, when you go to a discovery panel, the Karka shell ingredient doesn’t show up to use.
Just logged into forums to say I lost achievement points too … about 500 ..

Hiya. Thank you very much for the tips on how to wrangle this issue. The second suggestion worked perfectly, but the first and third ones gave me the same blocked content .. unviewable pages. Just letting you know in case it helps with troubleshooting. Thanks very much for the help.
Ok thank you much.
Unfortunately a much-used thread:
Just started doing the same thing today .. any way to fix this particular one because it’s incredibly useful?
Particularly useful in places like Orr:
If you run up a cliff or part of a mountain — areas that require you to jump to get to — mobs will stop chasing you. It provides a quick solution if you have too much agro. This doesn’t work 100% of the time, mind you, some mobs apparently can climb .. but have found this works on the bulk of them in Orr and elsewhere.
Today’s addition, the town of Ebonhawke .. really loved this city.
Have had a couple where this happens. Thread gets to a certain length then you go to view it and you can’t see anything at all …
Here’s one example:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Best-thing-you-ve-seen-in-game/page/2#post713062
It shows zero posts when I know there’s over 50.
Another example:
The above one periodically has all posts missing and unaccessible .. but am seeing this with more and more threads … any fix/help for it?
Stumbled across this today, and kept wandering through the mines looking for Anna Karenina .. sadly all I found were a couple of Karamazov brothers.
The weather’s getting cooler up this way, so time for a nice snowy shot!:
There’s a bug in this heart questline with the lazy workers. Some won’t even give the option of “F” for motivate, no matter where you click around them or spam the F button. Others, while it gives the option and lets you “motivate” they just stand up and remain lazy workers (see pix) and do not change or update the quest heartline.
At least I think it does. The bottom half of it looks like a greatsword, the top does have a gun handle though. Just posting in case it was a glitch.
See pix.
When you hail the scout in Ebonhawke to get game/heart layout, there’s no voice actor for it, just image.
Y’know that looks like Denim Dye to me, but everyone’s computer is calibrated differently.
Yeah it’s a great server .. I’m very glad it became my pick after the BWE’s .. the community is rock solid.
My best advice to you would be set your alarm and try when the bulk of players are sleeping … that means between 3 am to 6 am (EST) … pacific coasters will just be going to bed around 3am time, and east coasters/central will be already tucked away.
I went the toughness route on my gear for my ele, and have not regretted it. Chest and legs get that stat — and at level 80 exotic you can pick between toughness that heals or toughness that nukes. It takes me a bit longer to down a mob, but I very rarely die. The rest of my gear is evenly spread out on the rest of the stats — precision, crit, condition damage. As the Kodan say: balance
I also run scepter/focus solo, and staff in groups.
Mind you, my build is for soloing pve content … I’m not big on dungeons, I’ll do them, but I prefer pottering around on my own out in Tyria. Regardless, for all the complaints about ele’s, I’ve never had issues and it’s my favourite class to play.
Will we be able to change our character's name?
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: Jayne.9251
With the new release of “locked” character names, I quickly logged on and got the original name I wanted for my main, and have it place-held by a level 1 toon.
However, my main is 80, well geared, and is exactly what I want for a main, except this coveted name. Will there be any chance to change your character’s name? I’d like to be able to delete the level 1 toon and rename my main.
Thanks for any feedback/help.
On Tarnished Coast .. steady flow of players from the time I log in at 9 am (EST) to the time I log off at about 6 pm (yeah, yeah, I know I’m playing way too much! lol, but I adore this game).
lol for those of you confused by the partial bits of info in this thread, here’s the official announcement:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/news/Lost-Shores-Heads-Up/first#post646309
(Figured I went searching after reading this, others likely would too).
Ok so I saved Cursed Shore for last and had been there to get a few WPs, but like your least favourite vegetable on your dinner plate, I pushed it around the plate and poked at it with a fork, dawdling to get to it, and ultimately saving it as the last thing I had to do …
I went into the area with a feeling of dread because of having read so much negative feedback on the forums about Orr, etc … but y’know what? It wasn’t so bad. If I didn’t try to zerg my way through everything, used a bit of strategy, it was pretty much like any other zone I’d been in prior. And I completed at a leisurely pace in one day, did a little jig, then went off in search of my next adventure (and this is on an Ele, a class that has been complained about as being too weak — a debate for another thread as I don’t find this true at all).
I suspect a lot of the bad attitude about Orr has to do with the hype we give it here on the forums — that spreads into the game. I’m not saying it’s easy. It’s not. I’m not saying a billion superhumanly fast dead guys isn’t a pain in the you know what sometimes, but I am saying that it isn’t impossible.
What I suggest is that true, there are some griefers out there that will train mobs on purpose, but there are also people new to the zone that are just flat-out panicking and running with a choo choo train of walking dead hot on their heels — save them. As for the ones that drag the mob to you, there’s a very real chance they’re running to you for help. So help them (if you can). If you can’t and it’s too many mobs, hightail it out of there as fast as you can! See if you can become a competitor in the next Tyrian Olympics!

Kyndron and Heyfoa,
I’ve actually gone back and done it several times … but I run an ele, so that first leap down isn’t so bad with a stoneskin on. And the rest is just cake after that first leap. The section with the pouncing wall spears? If you run straight down the middle of it you won’t get touched.
Today’s choice (apparently using rhymes with chick/synonym to choice is a filtered word? lol) is the cavern at the end of the Lion’s Arch jumping puzzle. I adored this puzzle, it was a ton of fun!
(edited by Jayne.9251)
And if you’re fixing that, might as well fix the typo in the text below .. under water should be two words in that context/sentence structure. Cheers!
Aquabreather you get from quaggan after completing heart questline near Orsippus gives you this as a karma reward … it equips like a regular headgear piece and not a mask. I suspect this might just be catergorized incorrectly … or wrong graphic? See pix:
