Yeah, this was entirely FA’s fought. I apologize on behalf of them for not letting the parade go longer than 3 and a half minutes but I had fun while I was there. I got to meet some pretty famous people from the other servers through the DOLY guild too.
The “it’s red, it’s dead” was being advocated by the commanders in team chat when I was trying to advertise the event in map and make sure people weren’t attacking. But, meh, we have our version of fun. They have theirs. It’s just a shame their version ruins our fun. v.v

Apologies also that your server is now the favourite target .. my friend, maybe it’s best to sit it out until this cools off? Or even better, transfer to TC or CD? You sound like a good fit for either, and we’d love to have you on TC

Was pretty disgusting to see FA folks come in and ruin what was supposed to be a peaceful event .. but I guess that just gave both CD and TC a more definitive target.
I want:
- mud bricks
- precursor scavenger hunt which takes weeks to complete casually
- fractals breakpoints instead of levels (eg 1-5, 5-10 etc)
- lowered and non-fractal requirements on all ascended gear
- moar gems (but these will be under the X-mas tree, pretty sure of that)
- integrated gw2lfg.com interface <= this website rules
- map can be shown on second screen
- all events show on map
Love pretty much all of these ideas! Put them on my list too! …. But mud bricks?
Tonight yes … And likely to last about 10 minutes tops …. Hardly any time to do anything nefarious …. This is a three-server goodwill walk … Each server demonstrating their character I know everyone will rise to the challenge ….. Plus it’s pretty easy to spot detractors … If they didn’t buy a tonic from the broker or make one … In other words they appear not in some morphed animal form ….. They’ll be easy to spot.
I hope someone will take video …. I would but have no clue how to …. If someone does … Can you post in this thread after? Hopefully there will be a lot of players in tonic form and not so much with the staking and blood stuff ….
tonics come from black lion chests in case anyone is looking for them .. any tonic from any of those chests will do.
Also, how about we all meet at Champion Demense on CD map .. and march north together .. I’d prefer if we just accompanied the dolyak there, but haven’t heard back from Appledainty .. and if there’s a mass three server parade of folks heading north together, then perhaps there won’t be any confusion as to whether hostile/not hostile .. what do you guys think?
Oh one thing (as suggested by another poster earlier in this thread): Please tell folks to resist using any kind of buffs .. speed, etc … apparently they have a chance of proccing and causing unintended damage .. so no buffs for anyone, just dancing and marching and petting the dolyak!
Event is skedded for 8pm EST … and present location as suggested by Appledainty is northern CD camp, but have suggested we use the lower camp at Champion Demense on CD map because it’s close to both FA and TC WP’s, has a dolyak, and seems to offer less confusion about agro-vs-non-agro — I suspect there may be issues if we all have to truck north.
Have also confirmed with leader of PiNK that their guild is on board for this, too. Hooray!
We shall have ruminant tonics, people with fireworks, and golems. All these things. I live in EST, but I’m up all hours. Why don’t we do the parade around 8pm EST? CDBL North camp?
Can you give the name of the camp? Just so we’re all at the same spot? Would it be easier to do a southern camp instead — only reason being is the WP’s for the other two servers are south, and just makes it easier to get to — with less chance of someone mistaking another player’s movements as hostile?
How about Champion’s Demense at bottom? Has dolyak and seems to be easy for all to get to?

And while I’m not a big fan of the /laugh emote after killing people (I think it’s a bit cheap to be honest), it’s not limited to any one server.
(Love that the original OP came to grumble about the /laughing, but apparently also to brag a bit too! It’s all good! )
The only crime here is that there aren’t more emotes. 1/2 the fun of playing CoD with my 10 yr old is listening to him call me, lets see if I have the entire list, n00b, nugget, poser, fng, girl, old man, meh.. I’m missing a few. He also says things like: stop it, you suck, and my personal favorite “I don’t love you any more.” But that is because I always make sure my first kill of the night is with a knife.
Its a game. I have no problem with people celebrating their victories. Who doesn’t jump out of their chair and do a little dance when they own Boardwalk and Park Place with hotels and their 9yr old daughter lands on it? Well, good daddies I guess, but I’m not one of those.

I needed a couple events for my daily so I head into TC borderlands which is pretty much empty. I intercept a dolyak and kill it, one event down. Kill a sentry, another down.
At this time a random warrior decided he wanted to fight me, fair enough. I kite a bit to get my health up and he goes down fairly quickly. As I just finish stomping him, a thief decides to join in. Once again I kite him a bit to get my health up, and he goes down fairly quickly. At this point a group of somewhere between 10 and 15 decides they were going to fight. They eventually kill me but not until after I get a kill of my own.
As I finally go down I’m treated to a nice bit of /laugh from TC. After killing 3 and eventually being taken down by 10 people.
Stay classy.
Are we still at it? Everytime, I get taken down by any FA zerg, I see 4-5 emotes pop up on my chat screen. Shall make it a point to take a kittenin screenshot next time and put it up on the noticeboard here. You took out our yak and a sentry and one of our players. So…yes. Every server emotes, let’s just get over it!

Hello! I just wanted to make some small requests of my fellow players.
If you are from CD you probably think of me as the mad red pirate that toils endlessly alongside a dolyak in an endless quest to upgrade All The Things.
If you are from FA or TC you probably think of me as that squishy blue ranger toiling endlessly alongside a dolyak in a hopeless quest to upgrade All The Things you are just going to take anyway.
My fellow CD players, I would ask that if you should see me walking alone beside a slowly plodding dolyak, that you please toot your horn or otherwise put a speed burst on as you pass to assist my efforts. It is for the good of the server!
And ye nemesis of TC and FA, I ask that if you should see me toiling all alone with a dolyak, that you wave at me before you stake me to the ground.
Not sure if some other guild is intricately involved in this system but I’d be happy to see some of our commanders with this kind of control over our zergs.
I can’t speak for others on TC, but I know for me and my guild, there are one or two commanders on our server that I trust implicitly, and if I see them on map, I know we’ll have some good strategic hits if I go with them. That goes a long way to a well-controlled zerg. Trust.
Just reporting back that resetting sound settings to defaults, then sliding slider to “stable” has worked in WvW for me. Had a 60 plus WvW battle tonight and didn’t crash and no annoying sound bug. WAHOO!
Styg, try hitting “restore defaults” on your sound and see if that works .. having sound quality all the way down to fastest seems to have same effect as if you had it at quality.
I also deleted my local.dat file (Documents>GW2 folder) and that seems to have helped as well. I’m crashing less too.
I struggled with this too after my main (ele) reached 80 and I wanted to try another class. Got a guardian to 30 and liked it (plan to go back to her) …. And then tried a Mesmer and almost gave up on her because early on they’re tough … But at about level 20 a lightbulb went on and now I LOVE my Mesmer …. So, for me at least, my second is a Mesmer … Have zero difficulty soloing, and incredibly useful for wvw.
Wanted to drop by and thank everyone for the feedback in this thread. I let my Messer lay idle for about a week, then after reading this thread, picked her back up again, and have finally found my groove with her! It was like a lightbulb suddenly going off after I hit about level 20 or so, so thank you everyone for the encouragement and advice. It’s greatly appreciated!
Not sure if it was mentioned, and some of you more savvy players probably already know this but: If you are being overwhelmed by one type of mob you can run and drag it into another type of mob and they’ll start fighting each other and forget about you! Only works if it’s two different types of mobs that are typically “enemies” of each other.
Tarnished Coast. Great community in PVE and some pretty solid commanders in WvW that you can actually trust. Just hard to get on TC, you’ll have to wait till the wee hours of the morning and try. But it’s worth it. And WvW queues only seem to be an issue on weekends … but even then I think I wait about 20 mins max.
OH! found a solution .. seems to work (crosses fingers) … googled and found someone suggest you reset your sound to defaults, then lower it to speed rather than quality. I was just in a 60 WvW fight and didn’t crash! HOORAY!
OK any chance of getting this fixed soon? Every time there’s more than 30 players in a WvW area, the bonging starts and seconds later I crash. It’s getting frustrating. Can’t contribute to WvW at all.
Will log back on with the -log extension and post here .. should be crashing/bonging again soon.

Looks like we’re not alone either. It appears to happen, for me at least, during WvW zergs with a lot of players, but I also had it happen on WvW map when I used a WP. So not sure it’s population-driven.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ok here’s my log file after a day’s playing .. had to close out of game just now because my sound suddenly went off and was replaced by a continual bonging sound, over and over … load time better than other days, but still bad into Lion’s Arch.
Edited to add: Ok the bonging sound seems to happen when I use a WP. Going to try updating my realtek audio codec. (And the update didn’t help .. still getting it .. someone on youtube made a video so you can hear it: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Siren/first#post940043)
Sauron, out of curiosity I went looking for my gw2cache file too and found it eventually here: C:\Users\Home\AppData\Local\Temp … that might help you find too? Just copy paste?
Ok did what you said and I don’t see a log file .. I see ArenaNet text doc, GW2 text doc, local.dat file, and verify results text document. I added the -log as explained above but didn’t work?
I have a question for Yakkers, and forgive me because I’m new to WvW and probably don’t understand the mechanics. But why on earth are you almost OCD about small areas? I’m thinking specifically about the lumber mill area on the Yak map near the TC WP?
We had wave after wave of Yakkers come in defense of it, and each time they died they’d return to this small little mill … meanwhile on the other side of the map Aspenwood was overtaking major forts and towers, one after the other.
I don’t understand why Yak would focus so completely on one tiny area, and ignore bigger ticket items that are being overrun.
Is it because there’s a mandate against TC? If so, you guys should know there’s an awful lot of chatter about how fond TCers are of Yak bend WvW’ers. Honestly. I’m not kidding. At least once a day there’s some nice comment about Yak WvWers.
Just dropping by to commend my fellow TC-ers on the stellar job they did this morning on Yak map!! HOORAY! I’ve been waiting on about six POIs on that map for 100% completion for three weeks now and I nearly cried with joy when I logged on early this morning and saw the damage my wonderful server had done. Congratulations all of you, you rock!
Just checking in to say I’m experiencing long load times while zoning, and myself and my fellow guildies are being randomly dropped from game — crashing. This has been happening since the last patch.
An impressionable progeny seems to have insight and incite mixed up. See pix.

I suppose the progeny is hanging around inquest recruiters, so the word incite might be meant to be a pun, but in this case it just looks like a mistake.
No no .. I’m getting the money ok. I get 1 gold here, 4 gold there… what’s happening is before I used to be able to see what was sold that gave me the money, using the “items I’ve sold” dropdown on the market window. Now, it hardly ever updates, and I have no clue what’s actually sold.
The only indication I had that something was buggy was when a black dye sold for a very specific amount of money (minus the broker fees). Sure enough, when I scrolled through items listed, it wasn’t there anymore, but there was no indication of its sale on my “items sold” list dropdown.
The sold items page is not updating at all. You know how it will show you “sold 1 hour ago” or “sold 24 hours ago” etc? It remains static.
Have you tried going a few pages back in your Items I’ve Sold list? There is an issue we are aware of where sometimes the timestamp will be wrong, particularly if a lot of time passed between the time you listed the item and when it actually sold.
I’ll take a look next time I log on but I seem to recall checking several pages and not seeing the dye …. As for the rest, I have no idea lol … I suppose it’s better than not getting any money from sales … But had seen this situation persist for a couple of weeks now so thought I’d flag it.
Edited to add: OK just went on and looked through pages. For some reason I was under the impression that items would be listed on date they sold, not date posted. It explains some confusion on my end to the mysterious amounts of money coming in, and no idea what has sold. Is there any way to create a filter on the black lion to allow us to put in order of date sold, not date posted? Just easier to keep track of stuff that way if you can see your most recent sales, rather than having to scan through pages.

When you say there’s “nothing listed” do you mean your pick up tab is empty? If you have other items waiting to be picked up, your money may not appear until you clear it out (money is essentially treated as an item when your pick up tab is full; once you clear it, the backlog of gold and items you have will show up.

Oh I think folks are just more concerned it might be an exploit. At least that’s what I’m worried about .. and given how great this game is, I’d hate to see anything untoward happen. Not much fuss, just a vigilant and obviously caring community. That’s a good thing.
