I think the way pvp handled it was the right way letting (in this case) TC know about the hack without naming the guild.

I’d like to think we’d welcome anyone who had the heart and enthusiasm to fight for TC. Enthusiasm can be nurtured into a great player.. Otherwise we appear to be cherry picking snobs, and that’s really not what our community is like at all.

This thread is suggesting that all players join TC when in reality we need people willing to cover a coverage gaps.

Honestly, we need and will happily welcome people from all time zones. It is fairly common knowledge that there is a down-trend in WvW that is hurting all servers in all tiers right now. Our greatest need may be Oceanic and European prime time but the thing about TC s that we don’t just want to sell ourselves as ‘join us and add to our numbers’, but rather ‘we have something really cool and fun and unique going on here on this server and we are here for the long haul.’

In other words, Tarnished Coast is sort of the alternative to the bandwaggon servers. We will not tolerate anyone who comes along just to grief or exploit. We gladly welcome those players who want to cooperate and communicate.

Wait this doesn’t make sense. You cannot build siege at spawn point, and you cannot port golems from one map to another. They have to be built, at the very least outside wp spawn point … Then the player gets in it and only THEN can they use it to get back to WP to park it.

How did they build it then without owning anything? Or were they building outside spawn somewhere and it was just missed? It can happen, the map is pretty big with many nooks.

This is by far one of the most gear sensitive games I’ve played. I notice a huge difference if I keep my gear upgraded near or at my level. Of course I don’t buy every single level, but every 5 to 10 I’d make sure you upgrade. It doesn’t even have to be rare gear, it can be green or even blue and you’ll notice a difference.

Or! Or! Maybe the devs are out testing whether thieves ARE really overpowered, so any thieves that knock off that guardian too quickly, out comes the nerf bat

I’m wondering if its not devs playing on the busiest WvW maps to test out fixes/research culling.

Howdy folks. Just bumping. We finally have some room on our server and would love to see a few more WVW guilds! We have some very strong and very competent guilds playing now, but there’s always room for more, particularly if you play early daytime 8am EST onward.

Funny. There was a guy who said he was from SBI on TC’s server this week. Said he was over scouting us out in case SBI dropped to tier 2. Was quite blatant and unapologetic about it.

TC tends not to attack solo players, assuming they’re after a poi or something, unless they attack first.

This would be abused. Imagine you spend several gold on siege and come back to find it gone because some enemy spy just goes in and removes them all. We’re seeing situations where spies are building excess siege to max out map siege count …. Being able to remove siege would prove a disaster I’m afraid.

Well we’ve had a SBI player scouting us this week on TC …. Even admitted as much to a group of us (yes we all thought it odd, too). Wouldn’t be surprised if they’re on your servers too. Then again, the guy could have just worded things poorly and was scouting contemplating a move. Still, it was odd.

Not if they keep bodies on and there’s a constant flux of players go in and out. On reset everyone rushes to map, it wouldn’t surprise me if there was indeed a finite number because I can’t account for some numbers on our map and having a queue after I see the opposition go running by in a massive zerg.

What if there was a finite total for each map … Say 150 …. And once it hits 150, no matter which numbers from which side, there’s a queue.

For example: team a has 75 on map, team b has 50, that means there’s only room for 25 players on map for team c.

It certainly feels like its this way sometimes on map.

I honestly think leadership is key to making a good WvW server. It doesn’t matter where you’re from, if you go onto a map and there’s constant yelling and screaming, you’ll likely leave. Particularly if you have no prior attachment to WvW or the server.

If you have leaders who are patient and willing to teach new folks coming in, that’s key to building not only a solid community, but a loyal force that will get back up after being knocked down again and again.

Cookies and beer don’t mix very well so there’s still some room for improvement. Boobs go with everything though.

So what if a guild leaves? There is no reason to be loyal to any server. Play the game for yourself first, then your guild, then your server if that makes you happy. Its not like you get anything for winning WvW anyway.

Very lucky that the bulk of TC doesn’t look at this way. It’s always server first for us.

Honestly the stories ive heard are stories of MASSIVE gaps in coverage in the top 6 servers. It is to this end that EU has done massive PR pushes to get people to join them, because basically anything at your night time will propel your servers to #1

Lets put this another way, how many recruitment posts have you seen begging for EUs to come to our NA servers because we desperatly need people? You wanna know why you all jumped on this thread, this joke thread? Because your servers are so desperatly in need of people, that you need to jump anyones crap that even thinks about poaching your players.

- Your players are more skilled
- The competition is better
- No queue times
- Best lookin chicks
- Your quaggans have free coke parties on the center island

If its so amazing there, why are you begging? Were good with our communities, were good with our coverage, and you can keep your players. How about you?

The tricky part is actually getting on to our busy server. From experience with friends I recommend trying either at 11 am GMT or around midnight GMT on weekdays only. My friends have had success during that time period …. And while TC really needs bodies in the above mentioned time period, we welcome everyone and we’ll make sure you’ll find your spot in the fight so that your entry into TCs WvW is a pleasant and fun and challenging one that only makes you come back for more.

I have an unhealthy attachment to the bay. Sigh. Oh bay, why do you taunt me so?

On TC our map chat is actually pleasant. Civilized even. And we have players from all over the world … We truly are a melting pot and our women swoon over British accents, wink wink.
