Yep. But typically what happens is the masses on map who come to follow a commander soon learn not to follow the abusive one. Then that abusive commander starts to lose support and will have spent 100g for nothing when they have no one to back them up. Just because you have an icon, doesn’t mean people will follow y’know?

Either that or folks will just leave the map if they see this guy on, and WvW suffers. It’s really up to the server-at-large to monitor and correct this kind of behaviour, or lose bodies in their efforts to fight.

As far as a balanced tier, its wishful thinking on my part, there really is no way to enforce it, some people will want to win by however means, and human nature demand the path of least resistance, hence, stacking servers.

You may well take second this week, we (SoR) seem to have low participation this weekend for whatever reason. But as long as BG is in this tier you cannot and will not take 1st, their population and coverage has become far to large for the other T2 servers to overcome.

The only thing you would be doing is working FOR BG by focusing on SoR, I’m not suggesting focusing BG or SoR for that matter, only that you are helping to secure first and a big point spread for BG, allowing them to move to T1, which due to their current surge and recruitment is where they belong. Like I said you playing for the pied piper by doing what they want you to do, even if you do not think you are doing it.

What would be really nice is a balanced T2, instead of servers who wish to jump into T1, by stacking. I’m not saying that is a bad thing, or that people who wish for T1 should not do that, it would just be a lot more enjoyable for the 3 servers in T2 to be on equal footing for better fights.

So you’re saying we can never beat BG because of their coverage …. Seems to me that’s a strong argument for TC to try for second… If only to gain rating.

And yes, would be nice if things were balanced …. Makes for enjoyable gameplay all round … But given the often unpredictable nature of gamers, it’d be hard to regulate that. Even with a fee to transfer, there would still be server jumpers…. Although I suspect that would become more marginalized.

Well we tried that way for two weeks now and it has gone nowhere. I don’t speak for my server btw, not even a commander, but I’m in there every day and this is just what I’ve noticed.

Lol it’s funny … This has been done on both TCBL and bgbl a hundred times ….. Sor will take one side, BG the other of TCBL …. Heck we even witnessed a sor helping BG escort a yak into the newly taken garrison one day … Lol

We keep trying but those mean BG players insist on attacking us.

In all seriousness, we are learning a boatload and I believe improving each week. I can see improvements anyhow, even in my own gameplay. We have a number of players and guilds returning from holiday so hopefully that will translate.

Hrm, perhaps it hasn’t been done on sorbl often enough if this is new to them …..

lol it’s nice to see that the bulk of us hate siege reticking and see it as a nuisance that should be taken out of the wvw game.

1. Siege placed lasts a full 24 hours. After it expires new siege must be placed, no more manic reticking and 24 hours is a fair amount of time to get money’s worth. Of course if an enemy takes a keep or tower they can still destroy it …. And it can be destroyed during combat as it is now. But the reticking thing has to go. Not sure anyone enjoys that part of WvW.
2. Mousing over siege tells you how long until it expires. This will give players a reliable time footprint for siege and will ensure there’s no guesswork as to why siege suddenly goes poof. As of right now we have vague outlines of 30 minutes, but many have posted here that’s not always happening.
3. If the above two happen, that’ll make me, and many other players happy. Neither of these two suggestions would alter gameplay in favour of one team over another and would get rid of one of the most frustrating and annoying aspects of WvW.

You’ll have to wait seven days to transfer back .. but yes it’s doable. I almost did it myself, but then I decided to stay and fight in WvW and help my server. Wound up getting all my pois, just had to be patient and pitch in. And I had to wait nearly three weeks to get all my map completion, but once in, I’m now hooked on WvW because it’s a very interesting aspect of this game.

You’ll feel better about yourself too if you help with the fight .. go into map and stay a couple hours. They change all the time and if you stay you’ll likely get your missing pois and vista.

I’d prefer for each color to have a unique map instead of 3 copies of the same map, but beggars can’t be choosers.

I’d love this too .. each with their unique vantage points … Would mean a lot more exploration/learning curve of each team’s map and think it would make gameplay more interesting — what works on one map doesn’t on another, etc …

Good show BG on TCBL this morning. Was a hard fight. Learned a lot.

House just passed fiscal cliff plan not two minutes ago … .I guess no need to rez you then!

Yeah we couldn’t figure out why it was done since you guys almost had the gate down the proper way. But came into bay and there were 10 guys inside with walls intact. One took the time to dance on my corpse giving me plenty of time to take the proper screen shot to report it. Please thank him.

So is there any benefit to a home BL befriending them or doing the island? Aside from npc quaggans defending camps that are pretty easily dispatched?

If the home team does the island weather event that will wipe it? Or does that only happen if the enemy does it?

Because I’m pretty certain I don’t understand how it works.

Saw anet dev saying that if you befriend quaggans on your BL they’ll head to the keep and give players a healing rain. Conversely if you befriend them in a key side theyll head to an enemies keep and summon a storm that will damage/wipe siege.

What I’m seeing is these little guys waddle up as allies with lightning sprouting around them and then minutes later siege goes poof. There’s no enemies, and siege has been loyally reticked to keep it active but the siege still vanishes.

Is this a bug or am I missing something?

It’s beyond frustrating to pay for siege to watch it vanish with no explanation. Might as well pour money right down the drain.

It goes to show, you never know how well you’re represented on the field (and in the forum) until you hear it from another’s perspective!

What Jinx said. After a week in Orr I was delighted to find a non-zombie zone. It’s spectacularly beautiful too. You can access it directly by going north in the Norn starter area .. there’s a path in the mountains that leads into Frostgorge.

Find a server that’s busy … like Tarnished Coast .. whenever I’m out there’s always a ton of people in each zone. It’s very rare that I’ll go into an area beyond the newbie areas (and even then there always seems to be folks there, too), and be alone.

I don’t imagine the achievement would suddenly disappear if you deleted the armour .. but I didn’t buy mine for the achievement, more the look.

As for the above … Lol while I agree laughing/crying is rude, we all fell asleep on an enemy player the other day who refused to hit the WP for quite a while. I can only imagine what he was thinking with about twenty of us sleeping on top of him.

You can also add Lord, Lady, Madame, Mister, Duke, Duchess, or any title to the front end of your toon’s names to give you more options.

Did you wander around and see if perhaps the NPC has relocated somewhere else? Often I’ve found that’s happened and it’s just a matter of tracking it down in the zone. Also, what does your storyline say? It could be you’ve done one part of it and it saved, encouraging you to finish off the rest of the story questline.

Eh, my first toon was an ele and still remains my most favourite class. Don’t be daunted by “it’s too hard to play” .. it isn’t.

Bottom line, pick what you want to play and enjoy. That’s all that really matters.

If you press CTRL + SHIFT + H and then press print screen you’ll get high rez shots. Or at least it appears that way to me .. I notice a significant difference over not using it that way.

A hint for all the SoR folks.. Why exactly are you continually not hitting on BG when they are so far ahead? You’re making it easy on them by antagonizing your potential partners and letting BG bend us both over.

This isn’t what is happening. Unfortunately your perspective gets skewed when the only person responding to your actions in game is SoR. I guarantee you SoR spends as much time fighting BG as they do TC.

Point being, why? Take the effort you’re expending against TC and use it against BG and what happens? BG goes down. Sor, by fighting against TC when we’re both down almost 1/2 in points against BG, guarantee’s that BG will win again.

So yes, in essence, SoR is fighting for second place because the only way they stand a chance to close the gap on BG and actually win, is to not fight the only other group that is also fighting BG.

I guess if SoR is happy with always being the brides-maid and never the bride they can keep right on doing what they are now.

You guys just joined the tier, don’t get so bitter and upset. BG and SoR have been fighting each other for 7 weeks, they hate each other and all they do is fight each other.

It’s a 3 way war, there’s never going to be a time where one side is getting left alone or one side is only getting double teamed.

I think folks are just frustrated that BG seems to be getting such a massive lead on us so early and we’re seeing wave upon wave of SOR on TCBL.

We had heard tale that some key commanders on SOR have said to target TC because we’re perceived and an easier target for points .. I hope that’s not true, but it would seem a more effective use of SOR and TC’s time to target BG on EB and their borderlands. If anything to make the scores a bit tighter. That’s all.

If SoR was playing for 2nd, not 1st I’ve never head about it.
Also if SoR was playing for 2nd, and only targeting TC, why would we have wiped BG BL to be completely Blue on Friday and attacked it each day since?

SoR is in no way only targeting TC. In fact there’s more targeting of BG then TC from SoR because BG is the harder one to beat. Not to mention a lot of SoR doesn’t want to see BG in Tier 1 specifically because NineDragon left SoR and joined BG just to get into Tier 1. (So there’s a bit of heated blood between some Rallian’s and Beastgate’s.)

Was SoR Approached by an offer to work with some TC? yes.
Did SoR decline the offer? yes.

So please do not go around assuming SoR would drop down to playing for 2nd place instead of 1st <3

Oh I’m sure you guys are always aiming for first, I have no doubt. I was merely trying to mend fences in what I perceived as a negative turn to the thread. I guess I failed as I’m seeing some pretty ugly responses (not yours).

SoR competes in WvW the way it was intended. We fight two fronts, one against each server. We are fighting TC in TCs BL and we are fighting BG in SoRs BL.

We are not going to pull out of TC BL and fight BG on two fronts. That would be a disservice to a quality opponent. If BG blows us out so be it, they earned their shot at Tier 1 weeks ago.

Yeah it’s best not to name the guild in these threads, it only leads to flame wars , instead try to get a hold of someone on the hackers side server to see if something can’t be done by their server and resolve it that way, along with emailing documents to exploits@arena.net.

I think it’s fair to post that there has been an exploit in this thread to alert the server hosting, but naming the guild just leads to all kinds of pushback and gets our threads closed.

A BG player handled it this way last night when there was an alleged TC hack and our commanders and the player’s guild looked into it and took action.

The sad fact of the matter is the server with the hacker can only do so much — yell at the player doing it, ask that they are booted from guild, etc … but at least efforts can be made without creating chaos on the forums.

Well the golems are pretty big, they’re not hard to pick out from a distance. Having a scout near spawn to scout and not kill is fair. And one guy could alert map if he sees any construction…. Because they have to build on non spawn territory you can attack the builds.

Frankly I don’t have a problem with inter map supply … It’s just another layer to strategy.
