There have been cries of “hacking! exploit!” about these two in our various match threads. I think Sensei finally got tired of it and showed how it was done. Legitimately and without exploits.
Real responses by players about their opponents made way before the server transfer closing announcement (well up until the winners were announced, posts made after may be valid too, but keep in mind the date when they were made).
Hope it helps you sort out where you’d like to end up.
Cheers!
Lesson here? Patience.
Talented pair. Glad you’re on my side
Thanks, you have no idea how many times we’ve been called exploiters.
I know hon. I message Zu every time I see someone post that. It’s pretty unfair to do so. Words can only explain so much. Glad you did the video. Hopefully this will finally put it to rest.
:)

Y’know, no video game should make you unhappy. If it does, folks should assess what they’re getting out of it.
My blood was boiling a bit for a while there, so I took a step back. WvW will always be there, ill come back to it when the environment suits me more.

Yep. You are I believe …. Either that or the enemy couldn’t target me.
I know the sixth one, the mist form, works .. have it on my mesmer. Gives the same skill as the Elementalist in downed state.
I blame the Asura, but they’re all over the area with the workers and the harpies/elementals, just out of Divinity’s Reach gate in Queensdale.
It’s kind of funny, thought I’d share.
Yeah it seems to be hit or miss with this .. some of my logged on characters will give the 10 points, others will not. It’s odd.
There might be confusion between heart reward emails and player emails. The heart reward emails do not take up space in the 10 email limit quota .. it could be he/she was deleting those and not seeing any new inbox items. It’s the player emails that count towards the quota.
They could do that, or you could simply keep a safe distance away from the invulnerable zone and pick them off as they come out of it.
This has been an ongoing complaint by various players on various servers, and while I agree it can be frustrating, simply having a bit of patience and nuking the enemy as they leave that zone is the solution. It means you have to be a bit vigilant with the southern supply camps, but it’s not impossible to counter.
They certainly can’t hit the NPCs/take over the camp from that area. They have to come down and into the camp to do so.
Every server has this advantage and can use it accordingly on enemy maps.
Why exactly do we need a new RP server? TC does great at that now. Unless the desire is to be in the last place WvW server so you can fill up the battlegrounds and RP fights and no one care?
yea cos TC is always full but the wvw population is so little, and the Rpers can like u said " so you can fill up the battlegrounds and RP fights and no one care?"
Yep. That’s what I figured this was about.
I do think it’s puzzling however when some of the same people complain that making things organized is making the server “pro-WvW” are the same people who complain that we’re not winning.. And they either don’t care to show up to help or don’t listen to anyone and do their own thing which can sometimes cause additional problems.
You do realize you just insulted two of our more dedicated WvWers? Coral and Tallisi, like me, are often in there 10-12 hours a day working their butt off.
I wasn’t thinking of them as much as those who voice this idea in mapchat and yet surprisingly never show up when someone ask’s in map/team channel for help to guard a supply depot or escort a yak.
I’ve also seen commanders poo-poo the fact that there was any sort of voice channel where people could listen in to the over-all strategy going on.. I did wonder why anyone with a commander tag would ever discourage trying to let people have more information of overall strategy?
I know all too often I’ve wondered “whats going on??” for over-all strategy, and just being able to listen I felt provided a ton of insight into the flow of how things were going on, and what people were trying to do. From early warnings of attacks, being able to react faster, to getting a glimpse of high level strategy, just having that insight helped a lot.
So if you’re a commander and you’re negative on the idea, of people being able to actually understand what you’re doing beyond a simple “follow me”, I’d have to wonder the reasons why.
Assuming the commander is actually working with others and trying to coordinate things and not just off doing their own thing because they had 100g that is. I’ve seen more than I want who did that also, no idea in WvW and crashed and burned.
Does that apply to the two in question? No idea. I have seen a commander be extremely negative about the very idea of anyone doing more than following their icon, and listening in on any sort of VoIP. Again, makes me wonder why.
When I want to walk to someone when I’m at work I don’t sit there and type everything back and forth, I call them direct, or go talk to them in person. Verbal communication is not a bad thing. Judging by the 40+ people that were in the channel on TCBL yesterday I’d say that a sizable percent of the people on the BL agreed. And all but I think 3-5 of us just listened, that’s all.
Some people simply don’t like using headsets or voice comms. It’s as simple as that. This “assimilate or you’re stupid/silly” is the crux of our current growing pains right now. There is a distinct lack of respect and a lack of understanding that people on map are volunteers. Treat them poorly and they’ll leave. Let them decide how they want to play, and respect that.
Let people play how they want to. On both sides of the proverbial divide.

Dear Britons,
Send them your Geordies.
Love,
Me
<sigh> Those poor people out in the colonies. I guess it was only a matter of time before they asked for our help again.
But, you know, Britain is part of Europe. We just lack the cooking of the French and the organisation of the Germans. Thank kitten its not the organisation of the French and the cooking of the Germans. That would be bad.
I’m sorry, but ever since you stopped putting actual music on MTV its impossible for any other country to take you seriously again. As such, I don’t think you’ll find many reinforcements on their way from good old Blighty.
Good luck with your future endeavours.
I think I love you just a little for this.
You should indicate which server you’re on, in case it’s only happening on yours.
I did in the 1st line, but its yaks bend
Apparently I need to drink some coffee. Sorry!
No, I think it’s something else entirely.
You should indicate which server you’re on, in case it’s only happening on yours.
This might help folks decide which server to move to.
No propaganda, just honest responses from people about the servers they’ve faced …. Posted waaaaay before the announcement of paid transfers.
Hope this helps a few sort things out,
Cheers!
Personally I think it’s tasteless to use the laugh emote in WvW for any other reason than map chat had a good joke, but that’s just me.
I do, however, wish the enemy could read your customized emotes.
Wonder if the events are on a timer … That if you have done that event already in previous 24 hours it doesn’t count? Kind of like the anti farming code already in game?
Here’s a better score update with eye candy!
You need to get to the beach and get some sun hon
Think it’s your keyboard. Mine occasionally gets possessed and starts typing in french. I believe the fix for it is to use your windows button plus the shift key to tab between keyboard layouts ..
I’m not sure if it would help Anet, but perhaps those getting this bug (and deleting the local.dat file doesn’t fix it), should make a log icon on their desktop and link the info it culls here once the sound bug happens and you crash.
To make the log file icon, you simply make a copy of your GW2 icon on your desktop, right click the copied icon and hit properties. At the end of the file name type -log.
So it would look like this: gw2.exe -log (make sure there’s a single space between the exe and the small dash). Launch the game via the log GW2 icon.
Then immediately after you get the bug/crash, do not open the game again (doing so overwrites the log file). Link the GW2.text document here, found in documents>GW2 … it’ll give a list of failed commands and maybe this will help the team troubleshoot. Help them to help you kind of deal.
Worth a shot?
During Gwen’s speech, I saw Ethan McCloud riding up and down in front of the TC people on a horse.
Gwen is my little bit of happy on these forums.
I must apologize for plummeting from the wall to land face-first in front of you. I did not mean to startle you by it, but I also can’t remember why or how I did it. It was as if an unearthly force propelled me toward you.
lol! +1!
Good times to try, weekdays only (although I have seen openings around this time on Saturdays):
3am (est)
7am (est)
Have seen it open between 6-7 pm (est)
Best of luck … My friends managed to get in at those times.
I’m a terrible person. Both those photos made me burst out laughing.
I saw you dancing in the moonlight, weaving a spell of mystery and intrigue. Darling, red so becomes you, for a moment my breath was taken away. I ran to you, bounding over the hills and meadows, eager for your sweet embrace. You stopped and my heart skipped a beat. Would this be our chance to finally meet? It was only then, as the culling receded, that I realized we were not alone.

We only want the funny people.
And I don’t mean looks. Well ok, we’ll take those too.
And don’t speak too soon
For the wheel’s still in spin
And there’s no tellin’ who
That it’s namin’
For the loser now
Will be later to win
For the times they are a-changin’.
I can imagine that when SBI finds its tier, its going to be the “go to” place for people to join up and learn how to wvw from vets who have been to Tier 1 and know all the tricks. Honorable people, good wvwers, and I think the one’s remaining have proved their loyalty! I endorse this message! For the Isle!
I think the ones remaining have proved they retained the quality people. A big guild would be smart to transfer here and help sculpt SBI’s new future.
For those who lost folks or stayed the status quo … Be grateful. An influx of massive amounts of players usually means a significant amount of growing pains as the new and old folks adjust to each other. If you think you’ve seen ego fights on the forum before, pity the poor server with suddenly double the amount of commanders it had previously…. Then connect the dots to what the server climate will be like. Sure everyone puts on their best date face when they first meet, but there will be weeks of personality struggles to figure out before things go back to “normal.”
Sometimes it’s all a matter of how you look at it.
I’ve watched other longstanding mmos quietly implement new policies only to have massive payer backlash …. And subsequent exodus.
For example. SOE decided to eliminate the ability to pay for a monthly sub with its in-house equivalent of gems. They just one night turned that feature off. The outrage was massive, so much so that they reinstated the ability for a short time. Only they initially didn’t say how short a time it would be. More outrage. They finally gave a definitive end date but by that time so many players were kittened off that, coupled with the sale of its EU licensing …. They just left and never came back. The game suffered because the company failed to be transparent to the people supporting it.
While it may be tough to watch the fallout of this announcement … I’m glad they gave people the information and gave them enough time to formulate an opinion and decide what was best for them.
Ok it’s been a couple hours … I suspect you’re all toes up by now?
I don’t want to win I want to enjoy the community we had. Splitting TC into VoIP and not VoIP has been something I’ve opposed since day one.
I will still be around hoping for good things come February but the state of our WvW community and the state of the game is not helping.
Go ahead and yell at me in game I’ve put in my weeks and months.
Can I hug you instead? :-)
I think that TC’s problem is that some people want this to be a T1 WWW server, with chains of command and common communication networks and daily meetings and what not.
Most of TC is not like that. Most are a group of people for who WWW is fun by itself by itself, not just when we win.
Lately there has been attempts by some to become a pro-WWW server. To be a pro-server you need (due to game mechanics) a zerg-only mentality where people follow orders.
This is never gonne happen on TC. The sooner everyone in TC realises that, the better.
So, no, Coral, I won’t yell at you for voicing the opinion of alot of people on this server. I will yell at your side.
We can make signs and stuff!
Can the signs have bunnies on them?
I ain’t TC, but can I have buttons with ponies on them?
There’s nothing more menacing than an angry rabbit. Ask Monty Python. /nod

Yes if you go to

You’ll get an idea of events going on .. I’m not an RPer myself, but I believe the community is open to any who want to come visit.
This adds a new tactic to WvW. “Kill them with kindness”. Send your entire server to the forums to compliment the other 2 servers, wait for them to pass out, and capture the entire WvW map.
EXACTLY!
You see how my evil plot unfolds?
I tried doing a wvw (non forum) drinking game once.
Each time i killed somebody, got a medal and for every badge i got i drank.
I had to loosen up the rules a bit >_<
Wow your server is going to be wasted quickly lol … You managed to do rule 1 and 3 in one single sentence.
Drink up Genew’s server!
Ladies and gentlemen,
I present to you, the WvW forum drinking game.
Rules:
1. Any time a player from your server makes a chest-thumping (self-congratulatory) comment in the match thread, you must take a drink. Every one of you.
2. Any time a player whines about some perceived disadvantage for their server, that server must take a drink.
3. Any time someone from your server mentions badges, your server must take a drink.
4. Any time a player compliments another player’s skill or strategy, the server complimented must take a drink.
5. Lastly, whoever posts the updated score in thread picks which server has to take a drink.
Here’s to happier match threads as a result! (At the very least they’ll be too incoherent to be able to discern if the posts are positive or negative
so win-win!)
(edited by Jayne.9251)
Poor Norns. They always get excluded. Thankfully most times they’re too drunk to notice. :p
Want to compliment SBI. Every post ive read from your members has been thoughtful, non-aggressive and often funny (that solo Asura pix and “we’re fine” comment will forever make me chuckle). Even in the face of some pretty devastating turnover this past week, you all have maintained your dignity. We could all learn from their example.
(edited by Jayne.9251)
Zzzz i’m done arguing with you since it is absolutely pointless. I have sleep to catch up on!
Not sure why you started arguing with me in the first place. I was just informing people of the queue situation.
Actually, I think I see where the argument comes from. As I read through your posts, I am struck by the fact you mention SoR being the ones killing you. So are you posting things about our server as if you are a member just to cause people to not wish to join us? Are you bothered by the fact that SoR is expanding its population after many weeks of being the under dog? I am sorry that you feel you must bad mouth another server. I admit we have a que. But never has there been a que on ALL maps at the same time. I have always been able to get into another map. Last night was an exeption. Reset night was very busy, and quite a fun time. I enjoyed meeting new people and seeing the Militia run as a group, and even do crap jobs like escort Yaks.
I toast a week of entertainment, epic battles, and yaks.
Rosie. He’s from your server. Both Devil and Covenn are on SoR.
OMG I AM CRYING MY EYES OUT!!! Anyone remember gnomer runs in vanilla wow…classic moose guys. great vid.
This just made my week! Thank you!
We need more of this in game imo.
After facing CD in many battles, my overall impression of them is that they were a tight community, with many respectable players who fought hard and believed in good sportsmanship. After Yak’s Bend, CD are my favourite players.
