There were a number of issues in the final personal story zone — after you defeat Zhaitan and come back to Fort Trinity. Please see below:
First up, at the feasting station, you can pick up a pile of meat, but do nothing with it. You can only drop it and create stacks of it on the ground. The other vendors offer interactive and consumable items, just thought I’d flag this issue — see pix below:
Is this where you blow up the towers with the explosives guy? I was stuck on that too and had to re-enter — found the trick was letting the NPCs go “first” into the area and start attacking .. that seemed to spawn the desired results … if it isn’t the same event, I’ve found letting the NPCs you’re with start it off makes it all run properly .. not entirely sure why, but it does.
Just wanted to say added bonus in your pix is in chat you have captured name and pitch of gold seller, lol.
If I were to venture a guess tho, based on graphics I’d have to say its a legion of flame gear.
I think it speaks volumes about this community that a random winner was announced for something quite substantial and if you read the bulk of this thread you see folks genuinely congratulating the winner — instead of whining it wasn’t them. I keep opening this thread and re-reading it because it reaffirms my faith in people.
Akhet, there’s a update note from massively article saying GW and franchise wasn’t affected:
http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/10/10/security-breached-in-playspan-hack-multiple-games-affected/
Falunel’s post is likely the reason for it — meaning those who aren’t even at risk for being hacked are being asked to change passwords anyhow.
There’s more than one map option at your level. There’s also lower-area zones to uncover/discover that will get you at least 3 solid levels by the time you complete them. You say “the one at level 70 to 80” map .. but there’s at least two others to pick from. Go visit and explore!
Sounds like a downed/death penalty icon.
Speaking to NPC before battle, this one is missing a “Y”:
(Should be anywhere)
(edited by Jayne.9251)
See pix below. NPC is karma vendor Lightbringer Ives on Cursed Shore. Missing word is “need”:
I want a cinderella costume!! complete with glass slippers and a fancy tiara!!
My best moment was during a DE chain, where Asuras as usual do experiments on Ettins.
This time things go wrong and the Ettin becomes more intelligent than the Asura after the experiment, completely owning the rat with superior intellect and then turning into a super Ettin and mauling his face into the ground. You get the event to kill the Ettin but I refused to.
The Ettin was right. They were doing nothing wrong, Asuras did experiments on them and it backfired on them.
Well served!
That’s FABULOUS!
There’s a few issues with NPCs stuck in walls in the human home instance of Salma district .. however, this was the most amusing.
I’ve bailed Lord Faren out of a number of gaffes he’s gotten himself into, but I’m not quite sure how to rescue him from being eaten by a couch. (In the noble area, one of the houses, Salma district, human housing instance).
(There’s also the issue of three children stuck in a wall behind the puppet house in the orphanage, but they don’t appear to mind so much).
My latest “Oh wow, this made me chuckle” in-game moment. Instead of some nefarious and fear-inspiring name like Ozboforicus and Drezylitictious — players of Tyria, meet eye and mouth:
(The all-serious dialogue from Trehearne makes it even funnier!)
Of course the asura kid’s “your momma” jokes are all pretty hilarious too!
In a perfect world, I’d like to be able to go to a designated part of the world and pick out my plot of land, then learn how to make bricks, beams, roofs, windows, furniture etc on one of my toons and build the house from the ground up. Vanguard has something like this and I loved it … but I fear that request is too complicated to ask for, and would present too many headaches.
This also made me chuckle in the asura area .. old man on his front porch, yelling at all the kids:
This made me do a double take, only because anything labelled unsuspicious is immediately suspicious:
I could hug the designer who made this outfit .. it’s just so pretty and fulfills my need to be girlie!
T How many of you guys are just apathetic kittens like myself?
I just wanted to say that Apathetic Kittens would be a great name for a band!
WTB Thriller dance. That would be great to see a few dozen zombified players, doing that dance in unison.
Oh I would LOVE this!!!!
The Order of Whispers Personal storyline is a hoot. Makes me laugh just thinking about it.
Will have to do that line with my next toon
Oooh! Yay! Can’t wait!
The mail gold sellers seemed to have finally stopped, but have seen two or three in Lion’s Arch on Tarnished Coast server, just using map chat to advertise. Have reported them as usual, but they seem particularly determined to keep in the game.
Yes. Absolutely.
I personally adore the Quaggan, and I know I’m not alone in that.
They tend to say the most surprising things that often leave me chuckling (see photo below).
So what things in game have been your favourite, including dialogue, scenes, vistas, etc … I know it’s hard to pick just one!
lol shinies are from EQ2!!!
lol that’s vaguely disturbing ..
elite are 30 points each I believe.
Yeah was about to write the same thing, once you hit 70s or so, you’ve pretty much unlocked all your skill points — so what you’ve unlocked now, you’ll wind up unlocking eventually.
I do believe you might be able to respec via your trainer, but that may just be your traits and not your skill points. Have not tried it, but I know there’s an option to respec from the NPC.
See pix below .. think it should be orders, not ordes From Karma NPC at Gallant’s Folly.
Fully agree with the OP. I’m on TC too and love it. The community is awesome.
Goodness I haven’t seen nerd rage like that in a long while.
Yes kudos on a breathtakingly beautiful game. And we’ll done OP. it’s nice to open a thread in this particular forum and read praise …. There’s so much of the other …..
I’d also like to add that this is the first mmo where I’ve actually stopped to take screenshots of one beautiful shot or another … I’ve amassed quite the gallery with more than 200 screens saved so far. Have never done that on any other mmo.

I can solo most champs on my elementalist …. Takes a while and requires me constantly changing attunements …. But it’s doable almost every time. The only one I haven’t been able to beat was this major spider in a cave I forget which zone but it had a billion hp and needed a couple others to kill.
how did you do the repair? Did you do it by making a copy of the launch icon, going to properties, then adding -repair at the end of the .exe, then double clicking it to launch the repair file program?
Sorry I ask this only because this is the first game where I had to actually go in and change the file name to make repair activate.
To make a food tray you need:
Mystic coins (think about 25)
Elonian wine (two or three, you buy from the NPC near the forge, Myrani is her name I think — they’re 25 silver per bottle)
Crystals (also bought from NPC, but uses your skill points as currency)
And then whatever food you want to make a platter out of.
That will get you the recipe to make the food in bulk, but not the actual food itself — you have to craft that after you scribe the recipe.
Thunder, it sounds like it’s your server then. Why not take advantage of the free world transfers right now and test another one out? If all of your friends are on this server, you can either A: convince them to jump to another one to test it out; or B: move to another server and return to that one as a guest to play with your friends. Some servers are better than others, it seems.
I would suggest sometimes the backlash from world chat happens because of the way folks phrase their complaints. I agree that everyone is entitled to their opinion, and not everyone will agree with each other, but sometimes when we make our complaints or criticisms, they come off a bit aggressive, often without intending to.
I would suggest that if Thunder is receiving grevious feedback from his criticisms, he try to word those criticisms in a different way …
Now, not having witnessed his discussion in world map, I can’t comment on how he’s broached topics .. but I’ve often found there’s mass disagreement if someone approaches a topic with a blanket statement like “This sucks…” instead of “I wish they’d examine X, because it’s frustrating me” … One idea, two very different approaches. The difference being is the latter you are saying you feel this yourself, you are owning the statement … the former, you’re generalizing and making a finite statement that very likely will get equally aggressive responses.
This goes hand in hand with what I’ve suggested above .. that to get respect, you have to show respect — and that ultimately helps to build an accepting and solid community.
Edited to add: There are, of course, players out there that just like to argue and belittle others because they find it amusing. They often target one person and any time that person speaks, they start their tirade. That’s pretty vile, in my opinion, but I’ve seen it happen. You get on one guy’s bad side and he decides to make you his personal pet project. In that case, I’d just log the chat file and report him.

EQ2 has made a mint selling prestige housing in its store (at about $15 of real money per housing x however many toons you have, well it adds up) .. folks gobble it up, mostly because you CAN customize it to reflect your time in-game. While I want GW2 housing to be its own unique entity to reflect the fact that its gameplay is unique and innovative, I’d adore some way of being able to customize an instanced housing version for my toons like they’ve done exceptionally well in EQ2.
I have a few events planned once GW2 matures a bit … can’t wait!
I’m sure I’m not alone in this either!
Forgive me if this has already been posted, but this recipe you can get from a Karma NPC after completing a heart questline in the Charr area is bugged I believe. After you make the item, it becomes soulbound, no matter what you do, and therefore restricts you from selling it to others — rendering the recipe pretty much useless, unless you want it only for personal use.
Please see attached pix … A: it’s automatically soulbound upon creation; and B: right clicking offers no ability to list on Black Lion (because it’s soulbound, I assume).
Hi Shanaeri,
It’s great to see folks already starting to set up community-server events! I ran quite a few on my last MMO as well.
I’ve put in a request under the suggestions forum to have a section of the forum dedicated to player-run events so they don’t get lost in the mass of postings and players can keep on top of what’s happening on their server. If you get a chance can you drop by and add your own opinion?
Cheers and best of luck with your event!
Jayne
I was pretty active hosting events at my last MMO, and I know I’m not alone in this — there’s one event already posted in Players Helping Players section and it struck me that that post will get lost pretty quickly, given how active that particular forum is…
… is there any chance to have a Player Events section on this forum .. maybe under the Community Corner?
That way it’d be easier to find player-run events and not have it get lost in the mass of other postings.
I know the RP community tends to focus heavily on player-generated events, but there’s other folks, like myself, who would love to have our own little corner to let folks know there’s an event scheduled for their server.
Thanks for any consideration.
I read it to be when you are both hit and make a strike at same time … but I know that’s not true .. I had this on my toon for a while .. elementalist .. and it would proc fairly often .. hard to see the birds tho, they’re quite dark, but they do attack.
I would guess you’re critting higher than anyone else fighting the main mob and you’ve made him mad .. so the person hitting the hardest likely gets its attention. But I’m only speculating, it’s how it works in other MMO’s often.
I thought about that Jayne, but since the sticky instructions said “Want to know how to make pies, soup or stew while crafting as a cook?” I thought it was okay to post other noobish crafting questions here also…
Thanks for taking the time to reply…
Oh I love the Internet, you can’t tell inflection. Wasn’t a criticism of posting here hon, was just a suggestion that you might find folks who know more over on the crafting side of things.
Ok it’s been a month since launch …. Would love to get tons of feedback from folks to help others out …. So now you’ve got a pretty good idea of what your server is like … Why do you recommend it?
