Servers will stay prety much where they are unless one of the 3 below happens
1. Mass exodus happens like what happend to SoR
2. Two servers tag team a server long enough for one to drop down and one comes up
3. A sever fights its way upThere are two more possibilities:
4. HoT attracts many new WvW player increasing the pop of T3+
5. Servers are merged/closedT1 vs T2 is currently not match locked. YB has a small change of replacing TC or BG in T1.
4. Time will tell
5. Highly doubt Anet will merge/close low populated servers and its been brought up several times here on the forum and not much been done.
like I said servers will stay prety much where they are unless one of the 3 above situations happen.
YB has better chance to replace TC before it stands a chance to replace BG unless they get some coverage and hardcore WvW transfers..

That’s not the point here and congrats for missing it
It is very much the point though.
Something that takes much less effort can be done for much less money and resources.
nice try and bye
Anet updated GW1 DX 8 to DX9 and they didn’t charge $15 a month so your point in voided!
The difference between DX8 and DX9 was muuuuch smaller than the difference between DX9 and DX10 (not to mention DX11).
That’s not the point here and congrats for missing it
If Blizzard, and many other companies, can upgrade their game engines to use DX11 then there’s no reason why ANet can’t either. I’d also like them to fix it so the game isn’t so CPU dependent too and to take advantage of the power of our GPUs.
Of cores Anet can do it as long as everyone give them 15$ a month whether they are still playing or not.

Anet has its own database of our computer specs of every single player that plays GW1 & GW2 so they know exactly how many people have dx 9, 10, 11, and 12 cards.

Nothing about cheating issues?
They seem so common across the game and in wvw where it bothers so many people.
They mainly care if you are rude/insult someone on the forum and if players affect the in game economy in some way negative while all other game issues take a back seat.
1) T1 does not manipulate matching. I do know that a bunch of BGs have accounts on JQ, but it’s inefficient, since JQ queues all their BLs 24/7.
2) See below regarding why this person’s breaking the rules. Note that he’s been suspended twice so far.
Michael Henninger.7451:Match manipulation is a no-no.
lmao, Yeah the devs can say match manipulation is a no-no till we are blue in the face and pass out and guess what? Match manipulation happens in T1 and even during the WvW tournements and Anet done nothing about it todate.
@jedy
you write “Anet records everything we do ingame and even chat lots etc!! What do you have to say about that?” and u call me troll? lolIt’s FACT and I’m not trolling you at all, If you paid any attention to any of the info Anet puts out Anet has said many times they record everything we do in game.
you trolling because no one write personal info inside the chat, as everyone do as his computer….
This has nothing to do with anyone writing personal info in chat and that doesn’t dissmiss the fact Anet records everything we do ingame.
Go watch this and I dare you to call me a troll afterwards http://gdcvault.com/play/1016640/Guild-Wars-2-Programming-the
In the video the Dev says they record everything and they even collect everyone computer specs.
omg who care about? so they know i love quaggans and they know my pc specification? who care i will wrote this stuff here
i love quaggan and asura, my pc is i7 2600 and i have nvidia 970
who care? this is not the kind of data i wanna keep for my self, is my photo, my browsing data, my personal mail….
You that keeps missing the point and gets upset when proved wrong after calling a me troll. Like I said no matter what you do day to day data is being collected on you in some way.
Shouldn’t you be crying to directly to MS about your issues in your OP and not on game forum that has nothing to do with MS>?

r u really look the ms website for know if they spy u? try to ask NSA if they are spying ppl, and they say NO even with the snowden files….if u wanna use win10, facebook etc etc i’m not telling dont use it, its your life, u can do all you want, but dont be blind trusting on anything
Anet records everything we do ingame and even chat lots etc!! What do you have to say about that?

The only reason people are making such a big deal out of privacy with win 10 is because its more in your face out in the open then hidden away in EULA/TOS/Privacy statements that hardly anyone reads.

Sure is false equivalency in here.
What I agreed to with regards to Anet and other services I use (which may or may not be any of those some of you have listed) is not the equivalent to what Microsoft is wanting to do or the argument being made in that regard.
Both are the same in some ways both collect data to improve & protect their procduct while MS takes it just it futher becuase it offers a wider range of services then GW2 does. So not all the differnt at the end of the day so really no false equivalency here plus companies have always collected data on their cunstomers even before internet age in some way. You can’t name one that doesn’t! Even every time to buy something at the store data is collected and tracked.
Okay. Enjoy yourself.
You know I’m right
@JediYoda: Once again I’m talking about allowing it in specific modes only. Not PvP (which WvW actually is).
This was available in GW1 which had PvP too. And it worked great.
Unless I’m missing something, why would it be an issue?
Apples and oranges here GW1 didn’t have WvW, The reason the camera the way it is now because players would suicide or just get killed in course of normal battle and they would just lay there for a long time relying other servers activities or positions away to their server. Some creative person will find a away to abuse it like many many others things players have found a to abuse.
Not going to happen because of WvW , WvW is the reason why the camera is they way it is now.

You are over blowing things out of proportion here!
Even Anet collects data on everyone that plays their game and they know what hardware everyone has, your address when you make your game account, etc. They even know everything you do ingame since they log everything on their servers.
Google, Face Book, Apple, Steam, Android and the list goes on companies collection data on their customers.
At least with Windows 10 YOU have a choice to opt out of what you don’t want to share. Anet doesn’t give us the option to opt or you just don’t play their game.
@Ansau.7326: I’m sorry, I thought some of your reply was.
Free update is free update, no trial, full version, support until 2020 and extended until 2025….
Yeah… and?
That’s all fine and dandy if you stay with the same hardware till 2025, MS has said if you made major hardware change like new mother board/CPU you may need to buy a new key. Changing out a hard drive for new one is fine as they know hard drives die all the time. Free for the life of the device they said also.I don’t understand why people believe more opinions in internet than official statements.
you fail, go read up on windows 10 info it’s all relevant
All this nonsense about the key? Windows 10 allows you to do a security backup, restore, get back top the previous SO for the first month and change the key of the product.
Talk about the key isn’t nonsense at all as I was clarifying an obvious misunderstanding by the OP. MS will let roll back to your older OS so you will still need a key for that.
Or use a program like Balarc advisor that will fish out all the Keys for every program.on your PC. That’s what I did right away. And its completely different to my windows 7 key. The only thing I will point out, is that windows 10 comes up as 8.1 at the moment, I guess they’ve not updated yet to recognize windows 10. So I have my IOS downloaded, mounted and burned to a disc and my Windows 10 key. So if anything go’s wrong, I can just reinstall windows 10 with out a problem.
True and I will point out like I said above once you have win 10 activated MS takes a hash of your hardware and keeps it on their servers. You can do all the installs you want on the same pc/hardware even a hard drive swap of same pc and it will be activated without a key need, just hit skip few times during reinstalls.
If all else fails you can add the microsoft ips to the host file so it cannot contact the update server (also good to block the other spyware stuff from W10) anymore.
from what I’ve read on another forum that’s not 100% true with windows 10 with some IP’s have been unblockable by the host file.
Lian Olsam if you take advantage of the free windows 10 upgrade offer upgrading from legit windows 7/8/8.1 key to windows 10. MS takes a hardware hash from your pc then you can do a fresh clean install of windows 10 and it will be auto activated for you. The free upgrade is yours for free for the life of the device or you change mother boards. You can do many reinstalls on the same pc even if you change hard drives.
Mostly MS have done their best to make thing pretty clear even with their flip flops on information.
As for privacy you can opt out during windows 10 install process and in settings after you install windows.
MS put out a fix for the drivers problem so all should be good now.
Last you can use google to find many windows 10 fixes & tweaks.
(edited by JediYoda.1275)
technically Mike O is kinda right since their are pve elements in every game mode lol
While back the rangers got the much needed buffs to be on par with the rest of the classes. Instead of the players coming up with new builds to handle the rangers new buffs they cried like mad and got them nerfed quick. Rangers will always be subpar!
Looks like i was smart when not buying in to that win 10 stuff.
I’ve been playing GW2 on this Win 10 build for two weeks since MS released it to MS Insiders.
Just that people have to update to the win 10 drivers regardless what win updates downloads. MS is aware that that automatic driver downloads through windows update is causing win 10 users problems.
Have been with Windows Insider since launch day for Windows 10 and I have never experienced that kind of problems with Nvidias drivers form Windows Update or through NVIDIA GeForce Experience software while playing Guild Wars 2.
People in this thread should start to provide information about what kind of driver version and video card they have problems with to get any idea if it might be a problem related to how Windows 10 install video drivers too early to public or if it could be related to how different video card setting (like FXAA, AO etc) trigger problems for some Guild Wars 2 player.
Remember that Windows 10 are still not RTM, but in the last stage for public release which should happen somewhere around now!
Well since its a brand new OS there is bound to be issues until all the drivers get put out for all the hardware that’s still falls in the support life cycles.
Windows 10 is RTM and public release is going to be rolled out in waves world wide according to MS so the servers don’t get overloaded. Yes I know Windows 10 as a service now and that RTM means something little different now, semantics I know but its RTM.
Thought it already gave a bigger kitten at the end of the week for a win!

But nowhere i could find a tutorial on how to Multibox GW2 without any Third Party Program.
It’s not possible to do it without the help of any additional programs. GW2 simply does not allow itself to be opened more than once at the same time by default. Using a program however, you can prevent that.
Here’s a simple method to do it using only tools that are supported by Microsoft. All you need is Process Explorer.
First, add -shareArchive to your GW2 shortcut. Note that this option will prevent the game from being updated, so you’ll have to run the game normally every update.
Start the game using the shortcut and open Process Explorer as an administrator. In Process Explorer, locate Gw2.exe and click on it. On the bottom half of the window is a list of items. Click the list and press M to scroll to the Mutant objects (sort the list by type). Right click the one named “AN-Mutex-Window-Guild Wars 2” and close it. Alternatively, you can press CTRL+F and simply search for it. You’ll need to close this handle every time you want to open a new client, since every client you open will recreate it.
It can be done look at laokoko.7403 post and its the same way I run 3 clients at once on one pc, as long its one mouse, keyboard and one person input per client Anet allows it.
I takes a tremendous amounts of time and money to rework the engine for DX12. They simply will not do it.
Your best hope is that some of the DX12 improvements are introduced into DX9 through backwards compatibility, but that is entirely on M$ side. But even that will be marginal and anectdotic at best.
Anet updated GW1 DX8 to DX 9 so they could do it again, at some point they will have to upgrade and not cater to really old low end systems from 10 years ago with GW1 specs.
my main account is broken
Training tab broke,
Basic and Rare collections reset to 0
Dry Top and SW AP all reset to 0
Fashion Collector reset to 0
Living Story 2 locked and rewards/reset to 0, all of living story is locked even the ones I completed.
HoM is still broken
Daily reset
pvp tracks are cleared and relocked

quality of patches getting worse and worse
So what was a statement of intent of releasing multiple balance patches until HoT ships gets “translated” to a promise of balance patches every two weeks.
And players wonder why ANet prefers to say nothing. Because It’s darn tough to misinterpret nothing except then that’s used as an example of the devs not being communicative to us.
Dial it back people.
Exactly what I tried to tell them
report them to anet, naming and shaming on the forums is a no-no and can get you infractions/banned.
No just no, it doesn’t take long to run/swim across a map to unlock WP’s
From what I understand is that people who complain and are dissatisfied about various aspects of the game, are generally dissatisfied with their lives in general.
More than a bit of a stretch there.
“Being dissatisfied with aspects of GW2 means that you are dissatisfied with your life.”
Not really. People who are generally dissatisfied with life in general tend to complain more and be dissatisfied with more then those who are not.
That is not what you claimed. You claimed that being dissatisfied with aspects of GW2 meant that one was dissatisfied with his life.
It’s more like being dissatisfied with owns own life leads to being dissatisfied with GW2. Think of it this way. Stress leads to feeling powerless, feeling powerless leads to complaining. Complaining leads to seeing everything with a negative light.
So one can logically conclude that something in a persons life is causing stress and feelings of powerlessness, which then bleed out into other aspects of their lives. Generally it’s things outside the game (Real Life) that are the causes of the stress, which then cause the player to react and complain about aspects of the game due to the stress from the “outside”
If that something causing so much stress is GW2, then that person has much bigger issues.Have you ever been upset with someone and got snippy with someone else not involved in any way?
It’s the same type thing.Stress at work leads to stress at home which leads to stress in relationships, etc.
So one can conclude that if stress leads to complaining, then complaining about work, leads to complaining about your house, which leads to complaining about your car, then your computer, then the games you play on your computer, and so on and so forth.
So yes. generally speaking, being dissatisfied with ones life can lead to dissatisfaction in other areas, including Guild Wars 2.
Too much generalization going here since not everyone reacts to stress the same way as other may do and people do compartmentalize things so one thing doesn’t effect others.

It’s not a guarantee of releasing patches every two weeksThe key words are “every couple of weeks” — in colloquial English, this doesn’t mean “every two weeks” — regardless of whether they intend to stick to it or not, they never promised an update every Tuesday.
edit: grammar fix
Look I’m not here to play semantic word games with you
If you read my post I never once said they promised a patch every two weeks like others have claimed they did. I was simply pointing out what some people are misinterpreting as a guarantee when it isn’t. Sorry “intention” is a keyword here like it or not, for all we know the dev could have misspoke.
@Ayrilana.1396 thank you
the key word people are missing is “intention” 1.a thing intended; an aim or plan:
If a merchant announces to its customers, whose use of their product is affected by recent changes, that they intend to make bi-weekly adjustments in light of those changes, it would be a good idea to also announce when/if they decide to not follow through on those intentions.
I agree since the Anet claim their game is a service

- They said they would do a patch every two weeks to adjust balance in light of the huge balance patch. Have they? Nope. Have they even mentioned anything about it? Nope.
I keep seeing people say this on the forum but no source to back it up, I would like a link to the source please.
Silverwastes, chest farms, and other champion bag farms are ruining GW2s economy, forcing players who just want to enjoy the game, but still progress to something, do them, in order to get anywhere. Those chests in Silverwastes should be more rare, and or even removed.
Working as intended and players are free to find a new map that isn’t chest farming, you play your way, chest farmers play their way. Everyone needs to learn too get along!!
OP you realize that SW and Dry Top are a preview to what H.O.T maps will be like?
well atm H.O.T is all they care about since it will bring them huge cash influx where WvWvW doesn’t.
Untill the dev’s devote time and resources to curb some of the problems in WvWvW things will continue to get worse.
Jay, Anet is not paying attention to nothing regarding WvW^^
Exactly they did nothing about certain server buying a win or about the obvious blatant match manipulation between all 3 servers in tournaments.
This is exactly why anet should have just said “expect more frequent updates until hot releases” instead of saying every two weeks.
source?
It’s Wednesday and still no word from Anet?
too busy working on expasion to care from what it looks like to me
It’s been attempted but not seriously because none of the T1 servers were really interested in dropping to T2. (no one wants to be the next SoR)
You only need to get within 100 points of each other, YB needs to break 2k and someone in T1 needs to drop to 2100.
SoR dropped like a brick becuase of major internal nonesense from certain commanders and guilds so players jumped ship.
“balance patch every 2 weeks”? lmao no way they would do that even if they could and that would make things even worse. They need time to look at all metrics they collect and figuer out what they want to change, make the changes and test them, changes go live. That’s just too much work for a pipe dream, besides they have everyone working H.O.T as they have said several times.
That’s actually not really the way good balancing works. Since balance is never perfect, especially in a class-based MMO, the key is to iterate frequently with minor tuning changes while accumulating data about things that may need more extensive overhauls. This also keeps the meta more interesting.
Balance patches should really happen weekly, like they do in most other games. GW2 has exceptionally poor balance protocols that do little besides generate frustration.
I never said the way they do balancing is good and even weekly balancing won’t happen either for things I said above. Plus the dev’s want the players give all the skills a good work over and time to settle into new meta/builds from the changes. Again its just a pipe dream that won’t ever happen!

Guess what? no easy fix to this, and weaker servers will always get rolled by stronger ones no matterwhat Anet does.
(edited by JediYoda.1275)
this doesn’t solve anything at all even if you shuffle matchups weak servers will just get rolled by the strong servers and players will just QQ for getting rolled.
