Won’t happen. The most they’d do is ban anyone that created hundreds of characters prior to them disabling it. Anyone that did collect multiple chests may find that they’ve taken out a loan and won’t be receiving them for however many days they’ve taken.
I doubt they will ban players over this or stop players from receiving them for however many days they’ve taken. (Since Anet disabled this very quickly)
When we got the wardrobe update patch players made new toons over and over to unlock all the starter skins and due to a bug or unforeseen event. Players where rewarded with several thousands and even 10’s of thousands of WXP rank up chest and Anet was nice enough to let players keep 999 of them and put 99 WXP chest account limit into effect. No one was banned!!

Tbh I like the fact that they don’t go over spending on trailers like WoW does. That money can be put to better use then a 2-3 minute trailer.

Here’s how it is gonna play out: A player that wants Howler isn’t gonna do the precursor quest for Howler. They will do it for whatever precursor is the most expensive that they personally don’t want or like. They will sell that and buy the pre for Howler and have leftover money to put towards their T6 mats etc.
I thought a little more about this and i dont think its neccessarily a bad thing because it brings precursor prices more in line.

The real answer is that their engine cannot support more players on a map at least in its current state. If the fights got any bigger the lag would be extraordinary. Players already feel it in T1 during three way SM fights and often it persists when two large zergs clash.
If the maps got bigger, the chance for larger fights to ensue thus lagging out their engine would be a routine occurrence.
From what has been said about the new map we are getting its much bigger than the current borderland map we have now.
Not all players are forced into 1 map though (as far as I know). It’s the number of players that could end up in the same place that is the problem……

Yes I’m aware and its always been the problem when too many players end up being at the same place at the same time when things start to lag etc. From what few have had a chance to play the new map say its designed to break up the zergs. We will see how that goes once it released as Anet should know by now that players will not always play the game as they designed/intented to be. (Look at EOTM and Queens Dale farm before the nerf as an example)

Yeah there has always been jerks it just easier to tell if someone is f2p new by the total achievement points they have. Some of the trolls I have run into have so little AP that its amazing that they are at level 80. I really don’t know how they could do it. There will always be trolls in all multiplayer games. Its just that f2p tends to bring out more since they have nothing to lose. That and games that do not have a way to punish the trolls.
I was only pointing out the fact that F2P accounts aren’t the only or main source of toxicity and that there was plenty of it in game already before the game went F2P.

This question is addressed to Arenanet primarily: will there be a 2015 WvW tournament? I really hope so, it’s my first year playing this game and me and my guild mates would be so thrilled to be in the tournament.
I’ve just read some worrying comments around the forums that Anet is not bringing back WvW tourneys. is it true?

The problem with tournaments is that the results are mostly pre-determined with few exceptions, hence they are not real tournaments. They are pre-determined by population / coverage. So until this is addressed by a-net to a point where all participating servers have at minimum a fighting chance which is not even close to being the case today, then there is no point in having a tournament.
they need to fix those issues 1st, and it took them 3+ years to get it as bad as it is now, it may take them even longer to improve things.

Very unlikely due to the vast amount of hair styles and clipping issues if they keep that in tact. Best you might see is standardized hair with the hat (similar to Dwayna outfit), but even that is extremely unlikely as there is little incentive to add it to an existing skin.
The thing to understand is that helmets and hats that go over the hair are very difficult to program. About the only headgear we see working with hair are those that go under the hair by design.

it is a puzzling decision. there are so many threads with fans of the game begging for more armor sets (not skins) and more choice…to take these away feels wrongheaded.
and i actually would be ok if they were replacing these sets but we already know there are only 2 new armor sets in hot…how did the devs interpret more armor sets as ‘take armor sets away’?

Armor sets will be gotten in game only, while the gem store will be for outfit skins from what I remember Anet saying little while back.

I would like to be able to do it by playing through half of maguuma or get the option at half the new story line, so it comes natural and actually feels like you are learning the new ways of fighting.. instead of just wandering the world endlessly and never get to play maguuma because I have to farm the whole map with my revenant first…

It’s to keep the rich players from gaming the system, from my understanding of the data mined new map reward system prices of mats will take a huge dive from the huge influx of mats into the economy.
Main thing is Anet wants the players to discover things in game so they try to spoil little as possible! So No!!!!

Yes pretty much untill they do some major overhaul to the code some more as GW2 is heavily modified GW1 code.
having read what the dev said I have to question how up to date he is on the DX12 what all it offers in performance and tweaks under the hood etc? Since allot of data says DX12 offers allot in performance etc.

Better servers would help some but only some as it would NOT fix bad coding or DX9 limitation’s not fully utilizing more of our hardware or the servers. Tone down the particle effects even more be a major help for one also as it would lower cpu process some.
A sub does nothing towards fixing the games problems and I’m quite sure they make tons more money from a gem store than they charge a sub. Some players here on the forums claim they spend $300-500 each month in the gem store. My point is its the willingness of the Dev’s to fix the games issues.

One of the best I’ve seen related to this topic is to not have EotM pop unless the map is qued. Basically for what EotM was intended for.
Seriously this, People are using it right now as PVE. WvW was NOT meant to be PVE. This is ruining a great part of the game. I understand development cycles, and how this couldn’t be fixed overnight, but please look into having this disabled, or changed like the above by HOT
Contrary to popular believe there are actually some good WvW fights that happen in EOTM and its not all 100% ktrain/champ bag farm.
So you would rather have all EOTM ktrain/champ bag hunters be all dumped back into PVE zones with all the toixc map chat that got Queens Dale champs &champ bags nerfed hard?…….
You can’t solely blame EOTM map for WvW having low population when there too many factors to list here to consider and not too hard for anyone to come up with on their own.

I don’t understand why every time this topic is brought back there is no response from the developers. They were the ones that had us test PPK in the first place; then we all agreed it worked well but could be improved in favor of the losing servers, and then nothing was done.
Probably because it can be easily abused like those that use Obsidian Sanctum to rack up kills over and over since the way points are so close by. I caught two players doing it just week last again.
