An upcoming patch will contain changes to how line of sight is calculate for arrow carts. Some of the arrow cart skills ignored line of sight and the rest were too forgiving with their line of sight calculations. Both of these issues allowed players with modified cameras to shoot an arrow cart from behind walls to locations they shouldn’t have even been able to see, much less fire at. In the future arrow cart skills will use a special type of line of sight checking specifically designed to reduce this problem while still making the allowed target areas feel reasonable.

Ohh again with this been a problem for 3 years post.. Camera changes are not even a year old. Yes certain people have been doing it for years but it became a major issue when the camera changes came into play and everyone could now do it.
The amount of players that could do it before and after the camera change is a moot point as players have complained about this issue way before the camera changes a year ago. None the less still a welcome fix while better late than not at all I guess.

Please remove Guild Merit Requirements for Banners listed above as it prevents small/solo guilds getting, using and sharing the banners with others like Heroes Banner for example. Without having to ask other people to temp join their guild to help them do guild missions to get merits/accommodations which can be time consuming/annoying.

While I haven’t been keeping up with every bit of H.O.T info, my take on this is that is a MMO after all so nothing stopping the OP and others joining a zerg or small group to do the hard content. Besides the brilliant minds of the community will post guides, youtube videos and builds all over the interweb for players to use to help them.

not everything would need rebalancing, it wouldn’t be hard to balance the small things that would need balance, id like to see what happens with enacting this with everything just the way it is, small changes would be needed but it would really make the game A LOT more interesting
That’s easy for you to say since you’re not the Dev’s doing the balancing, they have their hands full already with what they have now to balance. GW1 was a nightmare for them to balance with tons more of skills then they had dual professions to deal with too.

As an example a new players feedback can be just as good and if not better than a so called “Veteran” players perspective in some case because of “fresh eyes” as the saying goes.
A company can’t really ignore any ones feedback and if they do they are shooting themselfs in the foot.

Unfortunately that’s what it looks for all those missed out on this will have to do and hope Anet offers the quest chain again this year as no one knows for sure. (Note I did make this thread 5 months ago)
I got the Star of Gratitude off-season. It took about 7 ish jumping puzzles. Consider though, the drops from it have been unimpressive at best.
This is a nice personal accomplishment but don’t expect to get any serious loot from it. If you’re looking to clear fragments it’s kinda worth it.
The same of Mawdrey really. It’s a nice prestige item, but don’t expect to get drops that equal the investment. The best I generally expect is some crafting consumables.
The Princess gave me 2 exotic weapons so far, blues and greens sold for silver or used to increase magic find, junk sold, crafting mats and getting rid off of fragments is all a win-win in my book.

The point is that some players (us) volunteered their time during last wintersday to help get some orphans their toys back and some people didnt care enough about it to pitch in (OP).
Now, as he is aware of the reward that came with it, he wants Anet to reintroduce a problem that has already been solved.
He is literally asking them to take away toys from orphans again just so he can gain a personal reward to help him cope with the abundance of goods he gets.

Anet created the problem with ascended mats to be only used for ascended armor and weapons and nothing else. Many many players asked for another way to get rid of excess mats instead of just deleting them and Anet gave us a way to do so to an extent!

If you read my OP I clearly said “While some like myself missed the opportunity to get Star of Gratitude for various different reasons during Wintersday event” The reason I wasn’t able to play the game during that time is no ones business but mine. Anet only solved a problem for those where able to play during Wintersday event to get Star of Gratitude. For the rest of us is just the problem isn’t solved at all and no one knows if Anet will bring it back in this years Wintersday event. Its why many of us have asked Anet in several different threads that popped up.

H.O.T does adds new WvW border land maps regardless you buy H.O.T or not so that would be Anet’s out right their since its all included in the data with any other changes to the code to make things work.

Well beta is for testing and NOT for making a profit off drops! The last beta event Anet inflated the precurser drop rate from the Mystic Toilet becuase of several threads asking Anet to prevent precurser from dropping in upcoming beta.

player inspection has been brought up several time and from what I remember the community is split on this idea becuase of the elitist attitude it would bring along with kicking players from groups for not having certain gear/build etc.

I really don’t understand why people are opposed to hiding backpacks, weapons and minis just like we can hide armor of others using lower quality settings. A toggle just for backpacks isn’t needed nor something I’d ever want to see, but allowing the lower quality settings to hide everything and not just armor is something that can help with performance a LOT.
Some backpacks and minis are huge with lots of details, and some legendary weapons clutter the screen with their particles, "why can’t we turn them off to increase performance?* Is “showing off” really MORE IMPORTANT than the ability to play the game? And if so, there are armor sets I’d want to show off but I can’t because the quality settings remove those.
Why is it so unfair?
It would be unfair becuase the perfomance boost for players with the options off vs on
then it would become the new meta to turn them off.
Besides Anet is not in the business to make one version of the game for me, another for you and another for next person on and on…………………………….

I never asked for an extra option to hide backpacks, the OP did and I disagreed. I asked for the character detail setting to affect weapons, minis and backpacks which I think it’s a very reasonable request.
You and few others are saying turning X off would increase performance! If these options gives too much of a performance boost over players not using them as they want to see all the bling then yes it would be unfair.
However….
GW2 was built on many of the same pc’s that built GW1 with some them with low end specs . Players have to take some personal initiative in upgrading or buying a capable computer to play their games of choice as Anet can only do so much to support low end spec pc’s.

I know they said that to discourage abuse/trolling with the mentor system, they removed in-game rewards. That’s because players that help other players are usually satisfied with just helping, which I agree, there are plenty of players that just like to help for the sake of helping (i.e. Me)
But the same could be the same for trolls/abusive players. They get a kick just from trolling other players, like leading them to the wrong end of a jumping puzzle or intentionally into a group of higher leveled mobs. There are plenty of players that will troll others and be satisfied without any rewards (i.e. Me on a boring day)
My question, how many of you guys would still use the mentoring system even knowing you won’t get a reward? Or how many friends do you know, who would abuse it regardless of in-game rewards?

It is part of the beta weekend; I don’t know if live characters can test it, but beta characters certainly can.
And it is a new system arriving with Heart of Thorns to provide incentive for returning to older maps.
Not just that but to help with farming mats for Legendaries.
